AliExpress

AliExpress
AliExpress online store and subsidiary of the Alibaba Group, a Chinese online company that offers a wide range of products directed to both consumers and businesses. The founder and owner of the company are Jack Ma which started the group back in 1999 with the store Alibaba.com.

AliExpress itself was born in 2010 offering products with vastly Chinese businesses origins. AliExpress is one of the biggest retail websites in the world, being the most visited online store in Russia and other Eastern countries.

AliExpress is closely related with Amazon and Ebay and offers a similar buying experience and the same rule applies to all three websites, check seller's ratings and past customer reviews before you buy anything!

Pros
  • You can find a wide range of products available at very affordable prices. Seriously, the level of "cheap" stuff is unbelievable here and you can find tons of products that have the exact functionalities as mainstream popular product brands but being 90% cheaper.
  • Most products look exactly like they appear in the pictures so you won't have any unpleasant surprises when the package arrives.

Cons
  • You have to be very careful when choosing a specific size for holes items or shoes. Everything is shipped from China so returning a product can be a real pain.
  • The websites are filled with copied brands and fake products that mimic the originals. The prices are great but finding high-quality product may need further attention from your part, take a look around at similar products, don't rush things just because the price is great.

In fair fight, Aliexpress wins

As a regular customer on BOTH sites, I can say fairly that Aliexpress is more viable for your money. The arguments to my right > seems to be related to a lack of knowledge on Aliexpress and those who have not actually dealt with them before, so they choose Amazon automatically. The main reason I support Ali, is because they offer a much wider range of products in the same market and is 99% of the time cheaper than Amazon. Shipping, however, takes long if you opt for Chinese Air Mail, which is the FREE shipping option, to keep costs at a minimum - but if you know what you want before hand and don't mind waiting, this is the option for you. Or pay a little extra for faster shipping. Import costs will affect Aliexpress and Amazon customers alike and are regulated by each respective buyer's country.

AliExpress vs Amazon

I ordered items from Amazon.ca that came from China. I did not know this when I ordered. I waited , waited, waited. I see items that are EXACTLY the SAME on Amazon as on AliExpress that have prices triple and more on Amazon. Same item, not any difference! So...why should I pay the higher price?

Amazon
Amazon is a US company with its main office in the city Seattle, Washington. It was founded by Jeffrey P. Bezos in 1994 and is essentially one of the oldest e-commerce website in the world but also the biggest with huge annual earnings and continual growth.

At first, Amazon started selling books but quickly moved to VHS, DVD, CDs, clothing products and pretty much everything under the sun now in 2016.

Amazon is truly giant of the online retail industry, having the second most popular ads network after Google ads, surprising Walmart in the United States but also making huge innovator steps towards new technologies like delivery by drone or developing its own e-book reader (the Kindle).

Pros
  • Amazon allows only good quality products to be listed on their online store so there is a low risk factor involving badly manufactured products.
  • Lighting fast delivery for most western countries.
  • Customer satisafaction is everything and both Amazon and the sellers may do everything in their power to keep you happy.

Cons
  • You still need to pay close attention to the sellers you want to buy from. You may want to watch out to those that have a lot of negative ratings, reading buyer's experience with their products.
  • The delivery for some countries Amazon is not present in may take a couple of days.
  • Products may have higher prices compared with similar websites that offer similar brands or products.

Amazon is better overall

To be honest I neither like aliexpress nor amazon that much for the main reason that the information relating to the shipping is quite complicated on both. I often end up not knowing how much it is going to cost me for shipping, and at times they do not ship to my country, which is a real pain after a lot of research, i have voted for amazon because on aliexpress you get many unreputable sellers and fake or low quality products. On amazon I feel much safer, and there are bettr descriptions as well as reviews. I only buy from aliexpress when it has nothing to do with gadgets or electronics, to be on the safe side.

Amazon

My experience with AliExpress was that it was a mass wholesale distribution website. For example, 100 USB flash drives that looked like Captain America for $100. I've never actually ordered a single product from them (I also didn't order the bulk product either).

I've been using Amazon for so long they have my loyalty now. Being a prime member with two day shipping and it is simply amazing. I love it!

Amazon without a doubt.

AliExpress is a rather "unknown" website here in Sweden but most of the Swedes have heard about Amazon at least adozen times. I bet that most of my friends and family members have bought something from Amazon too actually, but we have our own websites here in Sweden so we don't really "need" all of these other websites or shops to buy products from. - Even though I personally think that Amazon is amazing in every aspect.

amazon

Amazon is a reputable site for for online buying and selling. Many have been privileged to make their goods, products and services popular through amazon.

Amazon has a large database that covers goods of various categories. When we talk of test of time, Amazon is known over the years to be reliable. Most business sites are affiliated with amazon.

With their ever rich resources and communication level amazon is a sure online market.

The best

I will go with Amazon because I don't have any personal experience ordering from Aliexpress before. But obviously, I do know it and what sort of things it sells.

I have read many times that Aliexpress can be a bit shady though since you can find "untrustworthy" sellers over there.

I don't know but I love to use Amazon for my shopping. Sadly, my country doesn't have any official ones so I have to order from across the sea.

Amazon for me!

Personally, I've never had any experience with Ali's website, let alone purchasing a product from them. Generally, Amazon takes care of all my online shopping needs and desires. I've heard mixed reviews about AliExpress. Also, I can't quite explain it, but something about their interface gives off a type of scam feeling. I try not to judge books by their covers, but we do eat with our eyes before taking a single bite. Nevertheless, Amazon covers me in all areas.

Amazon

Amazon is cheap and trustworthy. They've been around for a long time and I've had a great experience with them. They have tons of options and customer service is great.

I've looked into AliExpress before and I didn't like them. They had good prices, but their site is poorly designed. It looks kind of like a "scam" site to me. On top of that, I wanted to order something from Ali once and they said I had to purchase in a bulk of 500 in order to get the price. I can see why they did that, but most people (minus corporates) don't need 500 of one thing. So why would they even list that price in the first place if they only want to sell in bulk?

Amazon

For me, Amazon is undoubtedly best for the simple fact that it is a store full of product options. Their delivery service also pleases me a lot. I remember buying a book once and receiving the product on December 31st. That is, simply wonderful.

Try AliExpress BEFORE you vote! I did. I voted for AliExpress as I have shopped both sites!

Amazon sells some exact items as AliExpress only prices are way higher. Consumers should shop around before making a decision on where to buy each item. I want the best bang for my buck!

I love Aliexpress! I shop there all the time and rarely Amazon anymore because Amazon has to pay for shipping and handling which makes the cost of the time way more. For Aliexpress, we dont have to pay for shipping and handling unless you choose to which is a plus! Of course, the products from each website are different but don't mind that. also, Aliexpress takes awhile to ship their products, so if that bothers you then just go to Amazon.

I have not bought anything on Aliexpress, and I did not know free shipping was available on Aliexpress. I have checked prices of various products on Amazon and Aliexpress and I have found that Aliexpress offers a competitive price. If I am entitled to free shipping, I think I can get a better deal on Aliexpress.

The only product I have bought from Amazon is digital books. Amazon does not ship physical products to my home country, therefore, I cannot use Amazon even if I want to. I have checked Aliexpress, they seem to ship anywhere in the world. However, I have not bought any products from Aliexpress.

I was thinking both of them for my dropshipping business. I will get the supplies from AliExpress and then sell it to Amazon. That would really be a great business to have. I just need more information on how to execute this kind of business just to make sure that I can handle any kind of scenarios that might happen when I start this dropshipping business. Hopefully, I'll get all the answers as soon as possible for me to start this right away.

Quiet frankly, am on a No notion on both of them. But that doesn't mean I don't patronize them...sometimes we are left with no choice since they happen to be the most dominant amongst all other businesses to their likes.
