There is no peace when death is not the end...

... I'm going with aliens/alien invasion. If only, because when i die, i want to rest - in the ground, in heaven, in a new life, where ever it is that people go or don't go when they die - not be taken over by some infection/contagion, demon whatever it is that causes zombies to be how they are and go around eating things.

Sure, I realize we will probably all become the aliens dinner/food source, worker/slave, underclass (you have seen Fringe, right?); breeding cows. :/ And, while the idea of inter-species 'dating' doesn't appeal to me, surely it has more benefits than being chewed to death?

At least with alien invasion there is a chance they will mercifully blow us up from space and in an instant we're all dead.

Sure you tell yourself, you will find some way out of the way place on the planet to hide out with your family from the zombies. And alright there are plenty of places like that. And, assuming you can traverse between here and there without becoming some things lunch. At least for now. And, I bet you can make it last for awhile.

But, you can't guarantee the contagion isn't air or waterborne, so the chances of truly escaping are down to zero. So then, it/they whatever finds you.

And, then you watch everyone you love becoming infected; your mom and dad, your wife, your kids

  • all dying from the zombie infection and resurrected like Lazarus in front of you to become soulless eating machines - empty shells hungry for human flesh.
At first, you're praying for them, then as each one turns, you're screaming ... please God, let me die, too?? Because, now you're the last one left and it's your job to find them and put them down, one by one. In the ground. Even the little ones :(

If only so they can finally rest.

I'd like to fight against outsiders..

Aliens would be tough and may be highly advanced in technology than us humans, but at least we are not fighting against our own relations, friends or neighbors..lol Also zombies are gross and bloody too.....

so much more exciting!

Aliens. Obviously. Zombies are so boring. They're just a horrible, carnivorous version of a human. Aliens, on the other hand, would be incredibly exciting. The possibilities are endless with aliens. They could take many forms and could possess unique technology. Alien invasion doesn't necessarily mean death to all humans. They could just be curious. They could be peacekeeping. They could share knowledge from other galaxies or universes. Aliens are intriguing whereas zombies are terrifying.

Exactly. I would ask them for a bunch of high-tech weapons before they disintegrated me. Also, I would panic. In fact, I would lose my mind. Yet, it would be cool.

You guys...LASERS!

Zombies are gruesome, smelly, bloody, and bitey. Now aliens, that's the way to go out in a blaze of laser-filled glory. The best part is that the mess left behind will be much easier to clean up!

I'd have to go with Aliens

For one thing, aliens intrigue me while I find zombies to be disgusting. Also, what Beverly said, made a lot of sense.

I'd also be glad to finally know that we are not alone, and that there is in fact intelligent life out there.

Even if it didn't work out so well for us, it would be interesting. Who knows what they would have planned for us? We know what the zombies would have planned.

Aliens all the way!

Although I like playing zombie games, I would have to go with the Alien Invasion. If there would be a zombie invasion, I picture the world becoming like that of the Walking Dead - empty, barren, and full of scary critters lurking around the corner when you least expect it. I don't want that.

An alien invasion would be much more interesting. Like one of those twilight zone episodes. I have always been fascinated with aliens and an alien invasion would be absolutely amazing.

I always found zombies to be very lame. They're just so unintelligent it's stupid. They can't communicate, they don't do anything except growl and try to eat the brain. What's their function?

I'd much prefer an alien invasion because it would be more interesting and challenging to overcome. Who knows aliens could potentially be good guys? We can't be sure They appear to be far more intelligent than zombies and always have some extremely powerful technology. This means that if we studied them or became friends, we could learn a lot more and progress further as a society.

But even if the aliens were our enemies, I think battling them would be far better than zombies. It would require effort and wisdom. I like fair fights.

Aliens

I think aliens are more manageable than virus that turns people into zombies after some cut in their body. I guess on that context I'd not choose to have the zombie invasion. I'd rather have alien invasion and spend time trying to beat the aliens in that case. That sounds lot better.

Aliens aren't so predictable.

Sure, a zombie invasion might be easier to survive from on a PERSONAL level, but that still means the world itself and the current way of live a majority of us have now is going to be lost - given the nature of zombies and the undead, there's not much you can expect out of that past "they're dangerous" to some degree. If they aren't dangerous in the sense of being violent (for example, if they're extremely lethargic along with unintelligent), then they'd probably be a plague that'd be much more difficult to eradicate.

If there were an alien invasion, it's not necessarily going to mean the end of humanity either. For all we know we might just be the equivalent of cute cats on the internet or seemingly-strange people from a foreign land. A language barrier can be cumbersome to work around, but not necessarily impossible to overcome.

Zombies seem gross

I don't know what aliens would look like so they might actually be equally as gross to me but at least they would most likely be bringing over some technology with them that could be fascinating for me to see and know about before the impending doom, whereas with zombies that would be pretty much it when they invade. All you would have is a lot of dead bodies walking around and being gross. The upside would be that there would be some fun in hunting them but I am more interested in the technology and seeing something not from this world.

Neither is optimal but for this case, ALIENS

ALIENS is my choice because you might be able to negotiate or bargain with them depending on their species type. Are they intellectual visitors, or just hungry ones who want to kill and or eat? Zombies on the other hand are a terrible scenario. They're the walking undead. They bite you, you become one of them. You can't reason with them because all intelligence is either dead or mentally clouded by virus or disease.

Zombie invasion for me!

I personally would rather go through a zombie invasion over an alien invasion. I really feel that aliens would be much more difficult to deal with compared to zombies, I mean if they are capable of getting to earth then they must be pretty smart, right? Zombies have no high-tech.

Any species that can travel through space would need to be technologically advanced, therefore they would carry with them weapons that outclass ours. Theoretically speaking, if they caught us by surprise they'd conquer the planet in 1-2 days...and any resistance force would be either swatted like a fly, or outted by using extrortionary methods (keeping fellow humans hostage, etc). If push came to shove, then they'd obliterate us all. ...Zombies are only a force that relies in numbers and resilience, that can be countered with decisive moves and planning.

Unity is key

This is quite a straightforward choice. A zombie invasion would definitely be something much more easily managed than trying to overcome some alien weaponries that uses sophisticated, mind blowing technology that we humans cannot possibly fathom. You really don’t expect aliens to come at us with slingshots and stone axes. Now perhaps I have been watching too much “The Walking Dead” in my free time, but my key takeaway from the show is, unity means survival. So long as we don’t start going after each other’s blood and band together against the zombies, we will have a chance of taking back the world. I would take my chances with the mindless walking pieces of rotting flesh than laser wielding alien overloads any day.

Zombie Invasion is possible

Zombie Invasion, while relentless and daunting, can be solved with just hiding. While popular fiction shows years into an invasion, most zombies would be decomposed within the first several months. An alien invasion is going to be a lot worse as they would be able to demolish buildings within seconds with even our modern technology, let alone space age technology.

Shoot them in the brain!

This would definitely be better than an alien invasion. You can outrun zombies, but aliens, you won't even know what they can do! They might fly out of the blue or turn invisible. From what I've seen from movies and TV shows, zombies are much easier to handle. Aliens can control people minds, where zombie's are going for your brain. It's important if you have control of yourself, if you don't, you're as good as dead.

Bring it on zombies! All the time I wasted watching The Walking Dead, 28 Days Later, Zombieland, and etc. will finally pay off!

It seems that zombies are much easier to kill than aliens. If aliens broke into our planet then we are dead. It's difficult to deal with aliens because of their high technology weapons. Unlike zombie, we are more intelligent and skillful than them so it would be easy for us to defeat them.

As far as the plot and surival is concerned

Zombies are better because they aren't as intelligent as aliens, which means you will be more likely to survive, and it generally sounds much better to have a zombie invasion rather than an Alien invasion. The zombie invasion would just take over the world and people would be likely to just hide/build forts somewhere, but alien invasions might wipe out the entire human race in a matter of hours. It wouldn't be a good story to tell if there's no storyteller left alive.

A Little Less Scary

I would rathe the zombie invasion occur because I think that this might be a bit more of a survivable event! The superior and massively destructive that an alien race would most likely possess is pretty scary, and their weapons and armor and vehicles would be harder to destroy or dismantle, I think, than anything that the zombies could most likely throw at us. That being said, though, I would hate to see some of my friends and loved ones become zombies, and I definitely would not want to have to kill one of my friends or loved ones in order to free them from the zombie affliction.

Zombies Are Weaker

If aliens have the technology to fly a spaceship to us and actually invade, they would be able to pulverize us. As the human race, we are very, very divided and it would be difficult for all the nations to unite to defend against the invasion. We'd have to imagine aliens have superior technology and weaponry than zombies. Whereas zombies... well, they have nothing. They don't have weapons. They don't have a brain. Just take a boat to a small island just off the coast with some food and supplies and you'll be set for awhile.

I'd give us a fighting chance

Let me start by saying, I think an alien invasion would be WAY cooler. I'm so tired of zombies (except for the show 'iZombie', which I'm definitely not tired of)!

However, I think we are much better prepared for a zombie invasion. Why? Well...

  1. More resources available -> More people already prepared Let's compare a Google search (in Incognito, Google.com) for "Zombie prep" and "Alien prep". How many entries does each search get? "1,090,000 results" for zombies, and "888,000 results" for aliens.
Now, to be fair, "Alien prep" isn't really the most accurate search term. Let's change that to "Alien invasion prep", resulting in ... "248,000 results". Wow, whoops.

What else? Well, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Preparation) itself has a Zombie Preparedness graphic novel! Yes, it's not actually meant to help you prep for a zombie invasion, but if they consider it an effective communication method then the CDC probably thinks prepping for a zombie scenario is similar to prepping for a normal crisis scenario. After all, a zombie outbreak would realistically be similar to a disease outbreak (biological origin). Since most people know of the CDC the influence of the CDC should not be underestimated. As such, the already active doomsday prep community (as well as some less fanatic citizens) are probably prepped to CDC standards, which is akin to being prepped for zombie standards.

  1. Zombies are humans but without (functional) brains. Bad joke? Sure, but I bet a zombie would make a much poorer one. People can already be pretty irrational when they're ill, let alone the more serious ailments that leave one bedridden. So imagine how much worse being a member of the undead would be! I doubt there would be many zombies with a high enough IQ to really challenge anyone's strategic defences.
Now, the major challenge with zombies is probably their physical - not mental - capabilities. They are usually depicted as being stronger and even faster, if they smell brainzzzzzz. Fortunately, one can probably avoid direct confrontation with some planning. Just think of the various wild predators that humans already know how to deal with (bears, lions). Plus, given their low intellect, once a plan is formulated one isn't going to need to change it much.

  1. Possibility of a cure Who knows what will happen if someone is abducted by aliens? Curing zombieism might be difficult, but at least it would necessarily involve some form of life that is already present on Earth. With aliens, though, that brings a whole different world of never-before-seen chemicals to contend with. Considering we don't know all that much about our world already, I don't think we would do very well with foreign organisms!
This does bring up some issues, such as ethical hang-ups on killing a zombie which could lead to more deaths. On the other hand, if zombies infect instead of kill, or if one gets away from a zombie after being injured, then they might be popping out of a grave instead of staying in one. In that case, hey, there's still hope!

  1. Worst-case scenario... It would be much easier to nuke a country (or two) than to shoot down alien invaders. If we had to push the Big Red Button, both Earth and humanity would have a higher chance of survival if we only needed to target zombies, which are far more technologically and geographically restricted.

I am an avid zombie fan. I loved to play Left4Dead and Dead Trigger. I used to watch several zombie movies like the Dawn of the Dead, Zombieland, Resident Evil, World War Z and many more. I love to watch The Walking Dead as well. I have always dreamed of zombie apocalypse. I find it more challenging and I think you can do whatever you want. You might be exposed with a gory environment but there is freedom. You can go around the world for free. The surroundings will be quiet. Besides whenever we encounter a zombie, it is easier to kill one and based on most of the zombie movies, they don't think. Unlike aliens, they have this telepathic powers and are really hard to beat.

Based on what we have seen in the movies, zombies are easier to kill. But have you considered what if the entire population turns into a zombie? There will be no fear of zombie because you yourself is a zombie. We are afraid of zombie just because we are not one of them. What if we are one of them?

I do not believe that either aliens or zombies exist; so I am not concerned about either kind of an invasion. However, with some of the new medical diseases, and even the drugs that we have nowdays, some of them can turn a person into a literal zombie because it destroys their brain and their ability to think properly; so there is more likely to be a zombie-type of invasion probably. One that I guess I would be more concerned about is the advancement of artificial life forms. I have seen pictures of some of these new robots, and they look like a human, at least from a distance, and they can now even move really well; so an army of “Terminator” style robots would be a very dangerous thing.

Zombies are just myths. Zombies exist in stories, human imaginations, and movies. Aliens might be real, but they may not be like the one shown in the movies. I think humanity will have a better chance of surviving Zombie invasion because for aliens to be able to reach the planet unopposed, they must have the more advanced technology and weapons and are therefore capable of annihilating human beings quickly. While it may be potentially more exciting, there is a slim chance that one may even live to experience the excitement. No, they are unlikely to take us to their planet for a visit or to turn us into slaves. They don't need tourists and they don't need slaves as everything must be automated on their planet. If they ever take humans home, that would only be to pry open their brain and experiment on their bodies. Not a very glamorous death if one's body has to hang like a zombie in a far away galaxy. Zombies, on the other hand, are brainless undead creatures who can be defeated by ordinary weapons. They're gross, but I have better survival chances with zombies than with aliens.

I have seen too many zombie movies to see that alien invasion is lot better. In case of aliens you get answer in binary. And you don't have to kill your own kind. Alien invasion would be a worse scenario for humanity ( assuming they were as advanced, or more so than the humanity ) , but zombies would be a more horrifying one. Even if zombies were somehow to exist, I can't see them causing an apocalypse, unless they were caused by a highly contagious, airborne disease in which case I guess too many people would get infected in a short span of time, causing the survivors to have no chance and eventually succumb themselves.

Maybe I would prefer and alien invasion than a zombie invasion because I cannot imagine a way to survive against the zombies. From what I understand, zombies do not die easily and they are persistent aside from being resilient so it will really be a nightmare to be alive when there is a zombie invasion. With the aliens, at least there are more chances of fighting back so survival has a bigger chance.

Alright, alright. My answer may change depending on where my focus is on. If we're discussing which one would be cooler then I think it's clear aliens have a higher 'cool' factor than zombies, by a wide margin. Aliens provide technology that is both new and bizarre to us, and the possibilities are endless: Are they friendly or enemies? Will they fight us, help us or use us by our means? An alien invasion can go many ways, while zombie invasions are guaranteed to be the same: attack of massive hordes that increase in numbers and behave erratically moved by instinct.

Now... If we're discussing which one would be easier to survive... Well... Let's just say I'd rather not go through any.

I think that it is actually easier to defeat zombies. They don't really know what's going on around them and since we have superior thinking capacity than them and we have access to latest weapons and techs we can easily annihilate zombies. On the other hand, a war against aliens will just eliminate mankind. Given that those aliens have high tech weapons and extensive knowledge defeating them is impossible.

I would go with zombies. They are weaker than the aliens. Aliens have the capability to create powerful technology especially if they can get some ideas about our technology. They can be weak but once they invaded the earth then there's a higher chance that they will be as powerful as human's technology or even higher too. Zombie can be easily killed and they are dumb enough to create such things as technology for them to create weapons to defend their selves.

I think I would go for the alien invasion since it is more near to reality than zombies because we all know that zombies are just a part of the creative minds of the people while the alien invasion was been already circulating even before the ancient times. There are some mysterious things that is coming everywhere which science could not even explain and photos of the so called UFO or the Unidentified flying object that was been circulating around the web for how many years already. We cannot deny the fact the aliens might exist in the near future since there are so many corpse that been found to be similar with the aliens.
