Are You Smarter Than an Agent of the Mossad?

Are You Smarter Than an Agent of the Mossad?
A while back, I read an article which asked the question *Are You Smarter Than a CIA Agent?” Long story short, a study was conducted that indicated that average people did not need access to “secret” or “classified” information to make sane and sensible decisions about the world we live in. In other words, an intelligent person can make intelligent decisions with whatever information is given or available or that they can do research and find out on their own.

Also read in a book (years ago) that Israel is the country that established what we call an “intelligence community” and all the other countries sort of copied or borrowed from the idea to set up their own agencies.

Mossad is responsible for intelligence collection, covert operations, and counterterrorism, as well as bringing Jews to Israel from countries where official Aliyah agencies are forbidden. Its director reports directly to the Prime Minister. Its counter-terrorist unit is known as Kidon. (Source: Wikipedia)

Let's assume that everything I read is completely true and factual. If so, I do wonder what the results of the study would have been if the question was *Are You Smarter Than an Agent of the Mossad?”

I'm an American and have my impression of the CIA which obviously can't be backed up with facts because of lack of access to information. It is an outsider's observation of what the insiders look like.

  • By contrast, regarding my impression of the Mossad? CIA versus Mossad? From what I understand and I am inclined to agree … Israel has the best intelligence community in the world!
Agree or Disagree.

(P.S. I realize that all answers will likely be very opinionated because I assume if you are a real intelligence agent you have the good sense to keep quiet and not engage in this discussion. :) But for all the other non-James-Bond-secret-agent-types out there, let's talk.)

In my opinion it's all hype. Different nations have their own secret spy group or rather counter intelligence agency or bureau. The US has CIA, the British has MI6, Russia, China, France, India, North Korea also has their own intelligence group. That being so, it is a constant subject for movies and this helps in hyping it up.

We have inbuilt intelligence that csn mske CIA and Mossad look like dwsrfs. Of recent I saw over the TV a young girl who could tell colour when blindfolded. Dhe csn write and read very well with blindfolds on. Does not this young lady best CIA flat on the groynd?

If i was in some elite group of special forces in the military , if i had the kind of resources the C.I.A has, if i had ultimate high clearance like the U.N does, if i was feared and intimidating like Russia is, if i had extreme funding from a super world power, i most definitely will be smarter than Israel's mossad agents. Period.

I have never heard about Mossad, that's because I live very far away from Isreal and Isareali intelligence is not active in my place because there is no anti-Isreali activities in my home country. I know about CIA. I am not sure, but thet say CIA has a deep involvement in my home country because my home country lies between China and India. I don't know whether I am smarter than CIA or Mossad because I do not know exactly how intelligent they are.

I have to google too. I think a lot new stuff I have learned. And I can tell you that lot of things are being manipulated by NSA and CIA. And not much we can learn about the real stuff. So it all depends on how we handle the information. And we choose to process the same.

I don't know if I'm smarter but I believe I can be at par with them if I'm given the same intelligence training. in my home country,CIA members are considered very intelligence people especially as the work as undercover to unravel mysteries,it takes people with high IQ to achieve that but the usual training also help them.

I agree with you, we can't know how smart they really are but they receive some of the best training their country can provide. Giving the same kind of training to the average person, if they can take it, would probably turn them into an agent.

Certainly no body was born with some innate knowledge about a given procedure and way of knowing things it comes from training and years of acquired knowledge and of course a lot of people can be that good if they are given the same opportunity and exposure and that what we all need to beat par or even surpass the CIA officers.

The average person does have access to the type of training and information that a MOssad agent would get. I think if we had access to that we might be able to do the same sort of things. It isn't rocket science, but you need to be observant, and understand a bit about human nature. These are just some of the things that you might want to be aware of if you want to compare yourself to a spy or special agent of the Mossad.

A very specific and general question. In fact, I believe that in all professions there are good and bad professionals. So yes I think I might be smarter than some of them. But of course not everyone of them given their training and expertise

I don't just think, i know that one person can never be smarter than the Mossad or C.I.A agencies. These are two among the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world. They are run by some of the best minds in their professions with thousands of highly trained agents in the field and also home to some of the most powerful nations in the world. Its impossible to say that one person can be smarter than an organization filled with thousands of military, paramilitary and very intelligent civilians.

Israel has the best intelligence force and agents for perfect investigation, it will be difficult for someone to claim that he or she is smarter than Mossad agent of Israel.

This is almost an impossible comparison to make because the agents are sworn to secrecy and in many cases cannot even divulge their identity. It's not as if you can join a race to compete and see who wins.

However, you can use your imagination and/or refer to movies you might have seen. For example, “Marathon Man”, 1976 film which starred Dustin Hoffman. Hoffman was a young guy who through no fault of his own get caught in a web with CIA agents and other secret sneaky bad guys. His brother was the agent, not him. He didn't know anything about that life or their world. But he managed to outsmart them all and survive.

So the question is asked: Whether the Mossad, CIA, MI-5, etc. ... CAN YOU without access to top secret information, without a security clearance, without all those James Bond gadgets, gismos, and toys, and the other so-called added advantages that secret intelligence agents have over the average everyday person … do you think you could have the intelligence to survive and outsmart The Enemy?

To me, I believe that it is all about reasoning and understanding the type of world we live in. Also, learning from what has happened to other people in the world can go a long way in making life better for those that are living in it. It's better we realize that early in life as well.

I don’t know what this discussion is all about because Mossad agents are one of a kind. From what I know, Israel’s agents called Mossad are highly specialized in their sleuthing and spying. They have special weapons and tactics that make them very powerful in terms of combat and internal fighting. And they are learned well not only in fighting but in other discipline like history and geography that they can be in any country comfortably. So I guess I cannot be smarter than the Mossad.

I think they were designed for their mission. And we can't be like that. I guess there are things we don't understand unless we do some sort of research. You can see that some of the time it;'s kind of hard to be in their shoes as well.

I just can't be that smart. I have learned a lot from life. And most of the life hacks I have learned pretty late. So it depends on how the smartness put to use. You can see that some of the time it may not be that easy. I guess life is always going to surprise you with something. And you have to learn to deal with the damage. Because that is how many people learn from their mistake. That's what I have found out.

In today's world everything is exaggerated. I don't think that Israel's Spy Agency is the best. The Mossad could be one of the best but to be the very best, I don't think so. If they're the best in what they do then they should have conquered the whole Middle East by now or have annexed land so that their country would be bigger. But no, until now they still have a lot of bombings in the city and are in constant alert on their neighboring countries.
