Are you averse to fresh flowers that you adorn your house with plastic floers?
Plastic flowers are in great demand. But I always wonder why plastic flowers are used to replace fresh flowers.
In today’s world when concrete jungles are taking the place of real jungles it is time individuals take on the cudgels and do something about it.

Not many have space for gardening as most stay in flats. Sadly also, many just do not like gardening. Flat owners if they have interest can do some gardening in pots. What they can do however is to encourage others and that they can do by buying real flowers from the florists rather than go for those lifeless plastic flowers.

There was this garden I saw on the Net that had acres of artificial flowers ‘planted’. I recoiled and did not get any joy seeing those colours.
The world is under heavy pressure. We are breathing carbon dioxide and other toxic fumes and this can change if there is greenery around. I repeat if one cannot contribute by planting themselves they can atleast encourage others by buying their production.

It is a joy to watch those acres and acres of real flowers . Be it tulips, asters, marigolds and even roses. If one cannot see them in the real world. Surfing the Net will take you to countless such, out of the world. images. And this could induce interest in being among fresh flowers by buying them and putting them in homes. Valentines day is approaching and rather than gifting plastic roses fresh red roses will make a huge difference.

It is truly disturbing that individuals are not conscious of what is going on in the world and what is in store for the future generation. A small role such as buying fresh flowers can go a long way in contributing to greenery though not directly but vicariously

It is time people talk about the dangers of breathing polluted air and this can be redressed if everyone pools in. There are other ways too but this is one of the the easiest way to start with.

I personally do not like plastic flowers--they just accumulate dust and grime, and they always seemed "tacky" to me. I have used them, however, at the gravesites of my relatives because they last forever. However, in my own home, I really enjoy bringing in fresh flowers to liven my mood or to use as a centerpiece on a mantle, table, or other flat surface or piece of furniture. There is something about a bushel of flowers that can really liven up a small space, and, even though they perish quickly, they are great while they last.

I buy fresh flowers in the Sunday market because I place it on the altar and also forms part of the decoration in the living room. But sometimes we have the artificial flowers that we keep in the stock room. We only use it on occasions like when we have house guests. But as much as possible, I prefer the imported flowers to impress the guests. Fresh flowers give the impression of freshness that’s why I spend on that because my husband like fresh flowers too inside the home.

Normally I don't buy flowers, I buy flowers only when I have to use it as a gift. When I am gifting flowers, I always buy fresh flowers. I have never bought plastic flowers as gifts. I do have some plastic flowers in my home, I bought these flowers for house decoration during the holiday season. I bought plastic flowers because I can continue to reuse as long as it is not damaged.

Depending on where you live, you can buy different types of flowers. It's usually a better idea to have some new, fresh and real ones that you can cherish and see them grow. They also have the best aroma and have an overall better feeling about them, there are some minuses they come with like having to take care of them or bugs, but it's just the way it is.

I can't recall the last time I bought plastic flowers and to be honest I hate plastic flowers. I have a couple of plants indoor and I think they add to the beauty of a house. I also grow flowers in my garden during summer. I can spend the whole day in my garden watching those beauties.

I love fresh flowers, not cut off at the stems but grown from the flower pots or among the weeds in the garden. I prefer to see them bloom and wither rather to end their lives in the vase. As for plastic flowers, I have one small flower for the altar. I think making my own paper flowers are better, Save money and I can redo them anytime I want to.

I grow flowers in my garden and terrace. I do soil gardening as well as pot gardening. I grow rose, marigold, lily, hibiscus etc. My favorite flower is rose as it flowers all through the year. I like flowers on their stem not plucked and put in a vase. If I want flowers inside my room, I will always grow flowers in a vase.

I guess this thing about fresh and plastic flowers have got something to do with maintenance in the sense that one can't really select one from the other when we are talking of which one is the best. However, there are basic reasons that can make someone to go with the plastic and leave the natural one such as creating time to water the flowers every morning, which in my opinion is not an easy task for a busy person. For me and considering that we don't have enough water supply where I stay, I would have to settle with the plastic flower as well.

Fresh flowers reminds us of life on Earth.

Breathtaking at its peak beauty but not everlasting. I think most people don't like flowers because it reminds them of their own mortality. Sure, it's hard to take care of living things like plants and whatnot. But the quality of life present in floral decorations gives us a view of how something so beautiful can and will eventually pass away no matter how well you take care of it. I love flowers. But as human beings, they show us that life is short and must be valued at its fullest. Live like the flowers and bloom. Age gracefully in a world of wonder.

Absolutely no way in this world would I ever even consider having plastic flowers - particularly as - apart from being what can only be described - as looking somewhat tacky - where ever they're displayed - having always had a strong dislike of anything fake and would generally much prefer to do without - if it comes down to a choice between fake and real - its most definitely so when it comes to flowers and plants.

Simply because - being a long time gardener - I've always much preferred the real thing - especially as - not only are they way, way more attractive and better for the environment - but the majority all save money in the long term - for example - ornamental trees, shrubs and perennials - are like never ending gifts - as cuttings, divisions or seeds from them can all be reared to make more plants - for free - which can then be given to friends and neighbors, used to increase the stock in your garden or even sold for a small amount of money and of course anything edible - think it goes without saying - they are always guaranteed - to cut food costs by a huge amount.

I love, love, love fresh flowers. They smell amazing for a day or two. After that they are useless. That's why I prefer fake flowers. They last for ever and ever. I have flowers in my house that have been there for 41 years. They were used in my parents wedding. They cost 0.3 dollars and they look real. Unless you touch them you will never know that they were fake. This is a good investment in my opinion. Fake flowers any day.

Where I live right now, flowers are grossly overpriced because the seller have to buy them from remote areas. Hence, it is not common to see them in households or offices. I also don't have flowering plants in my own garden. I'm not particularly fond of flowers. I love decorating my house with wood handicrafts but flowers? I have two trees as well as plants in my garden and I don't want to waste money buying flowers to encourage people to plant flowers.

I personally don't keep any sort of flowers within my home that cannot be kept in a pot of soil. I have a cactus and several other types of house plants, but besides that, I don't decorate the inside of my home with any sort of flowers - real or fake. I think that fake flowers are typically tacky and just sit around gathering dust. However, I'm also opposed to keeping natural flowers indoors as well because I feel that it's a shame to pick a beautiful flower such as a rose and then just watch it slowly wilt away in vase.

Honestly, I'm not an ecological activist but I think that we must to take care our planet and replacing natural flower with plastic flowers is not ok. I know some people prefer to use plastic flowers because they last longer than natural flowers and they don't need maintenance but those decorative items don't help our planet, on the contrary, they contribute to pollution. People, when those kinds of flowers bore them or they get damaged, throw them away so, they last a lot of decades to disintegrate themselves so, they contribute to the contamination of the planet.

Well there cant be any comparision between the natural flowers and the plastic flowers. The beauty of the fresh flowers is simply amazing and you get a feeling of freshness and enthusiasm when you see them. Plastic flowers on the other hand can become a health hazard as they gather dust and grime and you have to ultimately throw them out . I have planted many beautiful flowers in my garden and it feels great to see them grow and bloom.

I agree that you cannot compare the plastic from the real flowers but with the use and purpose I guess there is an advantage and disadvantage with both kind of flowers. As you said you have many flower plants in your garden and that is all right. But what about those who are living in an apartment or condominium where there are no places to have a garden? We also have a garden but the plants are edibles like fruits and vegetables. The gardener in the family does not like flowering plants.

I much prefer fresh flowers! The scent is lovely and I have found that most fake flowers really do look fake (and sometimes tacky). Whenever possible I go down the real flowers route.

I don't like plastic flowers, and I don't think I would like to have plastic flowers in my house. I would prefer not to have flowers if I can only choose plastic flowers. I think having plastic flowers is much easier and cheaper, as they don't need to take care of the flowers, but they still serve the decoration purpose. I see some buildings use the plastic flowers for decoration, as it's easier for them. But I always prefer the fresh flowers.
