Are you for or against having tattoos?
Getting inked or tattoos are it's called is a trend in the world today especially in western world. Some people go to the extent of inking inch and ever part of their body. Some looks good while some appear irresponsible and evil.

Christian don't take it lightly with getting tattoos on their body because it's seen as defiling the temple of God which is the human body.

What's your thoughts on getting a tattoo?

I'm not against of having tattoos. Sometimes, tattoos for me are an art of expression. Those little symbols they put in their body could mean anything to them. I think we just have this idea of having a tattoo as bad because most of the "bad" or "evil" people wear them. But that's only forced into our mind by the media, they characterized people who have tattoos are bad and doing heinous crimes. I don't care about people who do it, it's their own body and we don't have the right to judge them just because of those.
Posted by vivalavanda on 11-06-2018
Definitely, tattoo wearing people shouldn't be judged it their life and what they want on their body. Exactly tattoo to me is an art and way of expressing one's self. There's nothing wrong with spotting a tattoo, definitely not a criminal act. So let live and allow others to live theirs.
Posted by lovely on 11-06-2018
I think what the poster was trying to say is that normally people like criminals are more likely to have tattoos and as such in some parts of the world people are associated with criminal activities if they have any mark on their body. This is so segregating and I think that it should not happen as passing judgment without knowing anyone personally or their habits is very wrong.
Posted by Martin on 11-06-2018
Judgement is bad but that does not stop me from not liking tattoos and saying so. We live and let live but we have to say our preferences. After all, it is an art but in bad taste.
Posted by stbrians on 11-07-2018
I also believe that it is a form of expression and one needs to find a means in which they can do it excellently. If you know that you like tattoos very much and they are your thing the n definitely it is always worthy to do it. I find tattoos lovely especially when they are done nicely for example by an excellent or talented artist. You have to identify one when you want a tattoo otherwise it will be a shoddy job.
Posted by Martin on 11-06-2018
There is a purpose why we do certain things. Have you ever thought why most of the bad guys adorn tattoos. It must come from deep in their minds. There is something they want to portray to the world. Maybe they want attention they missed. When they are not noticed, theybmsy do some mischief to be seen.
Posted by stbrians on 11-09-2018
In today's life tattoos are common for all age groups.I am not against tattoo ,If you want tattoo you must be careful about decision that should not be overwhelming your body and your thoughts. So I suggest that don't make quick decisions ,think wisely and also take suggestions with experts. If your friends and family are uncomfortable by this, then you should tell them the reason behind this and convince them.

i recently saw a boy as young as * who had a tattoo and I was just surprised. i do not have one but I hear that the application of such is always painful. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain the child had to undergo to be tattooed but if it was their choice and the parents did not force it on them then it is all and good.
Posted by Martin on 11-06-2018
No, I'm not against anyone having a tattoo but it just that I don't like to have one. Maybe my belief as a Christian kicks in all the time. We are told not to have any design on the body so be it. But I admire the well-designed ones on the body I see it as an art. That's it for me.
Posted by lovely on 11-06-2018
Great that you appreciate art even if you do not desire to have any of it on your body. This is a true sign of someone that has positive and good thoughts towards other people as you never pass judgment.
Posted by Martin on 11-06-2018
yea, I never judge anyone because we all have our lives to live and no one should stop us.I'm free- spirit and liberal. I can accommodate everything and everyone especially if its detrimental to my health or otherwise.
Posted by lovely on 11-11-2018
I'm not against anyone who has tattoos, for some, it looks fashionable. It's just that my father never wanted us to have them embedded in our bodies, and I just grew up adhering to his policies.
Posted by NerdIndeed on 11-06-2018
I do not have any tattoos as of yet but I do not rule out the possibility of having one in the near future. I admire them especially when they are nicely done and when i find a great tattooist and I have the cash to pay for a really good tattoo.
Posted by Martin on 11-06-2018
People usually get a tattoo because they prefer body artwork and need to reveal things they revel in or they want to honor a cherished one. Why must you likely not get a tattoo? due to the fact they're more difficult than hell to get rid of. Additionally, a few people and some employers are remove by seeing tattoos on another individual. You typically do not see tattoos on wealthy, higher class people. Similarly some religions both forbid or frown on tattoos.
Posted by jetselle on 11-06-2018
Being race from a Catholic family, I grew up believing that it is a sin to have tattoo. My parents would always warn me never to have tattoo, no matter what. They said that I will just ruin my life if I will have a tattoo. People will assume that I am a lowly woman. People will assume that I am an ex-convict. I will have a hard time getting a decent career. They would also tell me that getting a tattoo is mentioned in the bible. As I grow up and mature, I was able to have an open mind about tattoo. I became exposed to other culture and other race. Reading also helped me learn more about different aspects of tattoo. As I learn new things about tattoo, I was able to appreciate and accept it.without jugding. I love that tattoo can be considered as a form of art and expression. I do not have a tattoo now but I am open to the possibility that I can have one one day.

Are you an African because those thoughts you just wrote out is a typical mindset of an African parent.I had the same indoctrination from my parents, that is why even still now I can seem to spot one but I'm still thinking of having one soon maybe my favorite names.
Posted by lovely on 11-11-2018
I personally don't like the tattoos. I find them to be more or less repulsive. In fact those things are not going to be any help at all. I have learned from the experience that some people have it and then later regret having them.
Posted by overcast on 11-07-2018
I personally feel that everyone should have the freedom of choice to decide whether they want tattoos or not. Obviously, others also have the freedom to judge them for their choices, however. I myself feel no judgement towards people with tattoos. I’d be lying if I said I don’t associate excessive amounts of tattoos with unsavory folks like criminals and gangsters, but I’ve met plenty of people with insane amounts of tattoos that were really nice. My own best friend has a full arm sleeve and a back tattoo and he’s one of the nicest dudes I know.
Posted by Denis_P on 11-07-2018
I agree with you on that. Many people said that too. I am not actually believe on what people say about having a tattoo. Tattoo is an art though I dont want to ink my body but for me it is definitely an art.
Posted by mark86 on 11-10-2018
Am not for tattoos. Look at that picture above. It looks weird, devilish and roguish. Why should one adorn tattoos on the whole body?

Tattooed people cannot donate blood. That in itself says something. Tattoos are not for me.
Posted by stbrians on 11-07-2018
Exactly. You cant able to donate your blood once you have tattoo in your body. Aside from that having it like a big mess in your body. It cannot be erased or if it can it will definitely leave a mark in your body.
Posted by mark86 on 11-08-2018
The tattoo looks cool depending on the person who will wear it, I'm not against to tattoo as long as it's not harming anyone else it's okay for me.
Posted by jayjaydimson on 11-07-2018
I am not against tattoos. I think tattoo artists are so talented that they can make art on such medium. Some are even colorful and elaborate which are truly works of art. I also respect those who acquire tattoos because the process is painful.
Posted by iambeth on 11-07-2018
The choice to get a tattoo is highly personal and one that should only be made after a careful and deliberate consideration of the consequences (both short and long term) of the tattoo," Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Stephen Greenberg told me. "As we age and a patient's lifestyle changes, one of the biggest regrets is not the clothing that a patient wore to a particular event or a bad haircut or clothing style craze they fell into, but the permanent tattoo that they wish they had never gotten in the first place!"

Unfortunately, there are times in our lives when it's best to hold off on the ink. Whether it's because you haven't had a chance to think it through or don't know your tattoo artist, take your time and ask yourself if you're in a season of life when a tattoo isn't the best idea.
Posted by totoadrian on 11-07-2018
I think getting a tattoo is a great idea, I mean it's great to display and show off to people. A great tattoo also includes a story on why it was placed on your body. The best idea/design of a tattoo I would get is an angel on my back and the rosary on my chest. So that I feel I am always protected by God in whatever I do in my life. But that would be my story for my tattoo. I know there are a lot more of you guys out there who would have a story of their own. So getting a tattoo is a good idea indeed.

I am a Christian and I am against tattoo. I don't judge nor condemned those people who likes and have tattoos. I am not a judge either in the first place. As a Christian who knows the Scriptures I chose not to have any tattoo on my body. I hate tattoo but love those who have tattoos just like Jesus hates the sin but love the sinner.
Posted by burgosmichael2407 on 11-07-2018
This is a big one, yea we are still allowed to admired those we can see with great tatts on as Christians. I know my belief kicks so many times when I think of getting it done.I will have to settle with my spirit to be able to have one because I just loved the art.
Posted by lovely on 11-11-2018
I'm against having tattoos. Not because I'm religious, but it because it doesn't look clean. I know it's art for some, but I just can't appreciate it too much. There are cool tattoos, but at the end of the day, I still don't like tattoos. Even the small ones, I don't like it. I'm not against people who have tattoos. I know some people who have it and they are really great people. I just don't think it's a cool thing and I won't have one.
Posted by hstinscdln on 11-07-2018
I am a christian but my reason for not favoring tattoo is because I really see it as dirt instead of art. No offense to those who have a tattoo or loves tattoo but to be honest, I find tattoos a bit distracting and unnecessary especially with the health problems in might bring to someone's skin.
Posted by jaybee19 on 11-07-2018
I don't mind other people having tattoos, and I won't judge them, especially some are having good reasons for having the tattoos. I personally won't go for it. First of all, I don't think I would want to suffer the pain to put the tattoos on my body. I don't have a good reason for myself to do so. Moreover, I really don't want to add anything on my body if it's not necessary. Perhaps I would consider it as "not natural".
Posted by kaka135 on 11-07-2018
I don't think they is any good reason for putting tattoo on the body because I don't see any medical or reasonable thing that it does as for beauty and entertainment.
Posted by ElectorAlexander on 11-07-2018
I think tattoo is not a bad thing to me and I don't care about how other people sees it but to be sincere most church forbid it, I can't go to church with a tattoo on me except it's hidden because I don't think it's ethical but sure I still love the idea of tattoo because it just nice and artistic to me.
Posted by ElectorAlexander on 11-07-2018
I am not a fan of it although I don't mind it that people get them. On some people I would even admit that they probably do look better by having the tattoos than without, but generally I'm just not too big of a fan of them. I do find them interesting and enjoyable to look at when they are done well or are unique though, and I also love seeing the process of putting them on, but that's about it, I don't think I will ever get one.
Posted by Wubwub on 11-07-2018
I like having one on my skin but there are thoughts that make be not to do it. My personal reason is it will never be good when you are older.
Posted by MomoStarr16 on 11-07-2018
Yeah it is definitely good when your skin become sag. You can use Henna tatto. It is removal. But real one I dont like it too. I wanted to let my skin as it is.
Posted by mark86 on 11-08-2018
I am not against tattoo, since I am an artist and it is an art that is painted in someone's skin.
Posted by allyn2017 on 11-07-2018
I believe it is an art. Many people dont see that on that way. They have this mentality that having a tattoo is a criminal but that is not fair for those who have this just for an art.
Posted by mark86 on 11-10-2018
I think that while it seems that it should be discouraged, still what matters most is what is inside than what is outside. Creative flows can't be helped. It has been long ago since humans have been inked. Before it has been part of religious rituals themselves. I'm all for expressing oneself so I am for inking. But still everyone should be responsible for their own acts.
Posted by emiaj55 on 11-07-2018
well, this is a form of art, and it is upon an individual to decide if he or she should have a tattoo. I am not against having tattoos, but I personally do not have one, and I do not think I will have one because of my skin color.
Posted by Anonymous on 11-08-2018
This is a form of art and no one should be charged for having a tattoo or tattoos. I am not against it, although for personal reasons I do not have one, neither am I planning to have one.
Posted by Anonymous on 11-08-2018
I honestly wanted to have some tattoo in my body but when I realized that it is not good and it stay there forever I did not do it. I know for some it looks like a fashion and trendy but for me it is like a messy ink scattered in your body.
Posted by mark86 on 11-08-2018
I am not against people having tattoos. I actually view it as a form of art. Personally, though, if I were to get a tattoo, I would only get a small, symbolic tattoo since I don't like having too much ink on my skin.
Posted by astraherondale on 11-08-2018
Tattoos are art. It is an art form. The canvas is your body. It should be a personnal preference. I don’t have the courage to have a tattoo. It is painful and I have low tolerance to pain. Some people get tattoos to remember a person or a certain ecent in their life. Tattooist also express their through the tattoos they create. A tattoo should not define a person. A tattoo should be appreciated as an art not something you judge a person based on.
Posted by thejoyrevolution on 11-08-2018
Its obvious that the Bible somewhere in the old testament mentioned something about making inscriptions on the body as being wrong. I'm a Christian, and I hold on to its instructions as highest authority; and in that case, my thought about tattoos should be influenced by what the Bible said about it.

However, when the issue of old testament and new testament regulations arrises, one is thorn in between the two: is the Bible's rejection of tattoos obsolete, as its in the old? Many will argue this, but on my part, I believe it stays in the old. What matter now is the "why?" behind someone wanting a tattoo. Aside it, I do not think tattoo to be wrong
Posted by mosesoscar on 11-08-2018
It really depends, if it's cultural or done for beauty then I'm okay with it but if it's done to mark or brand a person then im against it. I don't have any tattoo and I'm not going to get any because I really don't like anything permanent printed or my skin.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 11-08-2018
For me, personally, I'm not a fan of them on my own body. I am pretty fickle and can't imagine having a design on my body that I'd have to be cool with for the next 50 years.

In saying that, I have absolutely no problem with them on others, and I think many tattoos are works of art.
Posted by amelia88 on 11-08-2018
I guess someone would be against having tattoos because of the stigma it carried years ago. That's nonexistent in our days and rightfully so. I myself like tattoos , but only those that have a touch of art or a meaning and not those cheap looking ones that many people style.
Posted by Anonymous on 11-08-2018
I agree with you. There are tattoos that are not pleasant to the eyes as they appear to be nonsense and ugly to me. Thus, I only like tattoos of minimalist in nature. But, I always respect people with whatever their choices are, I leave them be.
Posted by theresajane on 11-09-2018
I would say that since it is a for of art it should not anymore carry the outdated stigma that some (mostly old people) still carry in their minds. Firstly anyone can do whatever they like with their bodies and also if it's a good quality tattoo it can be very beautiful.
Posted by GeorgeDr on 11-08-2018
I am not against tattoo. I actually like to have a small one for myself. Although I am not against having a tattoo, I do not admire those having their whole body covered with ink. I think it is too much. But, that is their body and I know we all have a different idea of what is art and beauty so I have no problems with that.
Posted by mdayrit on 11-08-2018
I am not against too! But I think too many tattoos on your skin is not good. I admire those persons who have one tattoo only. Some people have a butterfly or flower tattoo can be so fashionable.
Posted by superlicca on 11-08-2018
Having a tattoo is not bad is a kind of expressing art, what's not good in this is when you are having more than you deserve. Tattoos all over your body are not good to see especially when you get old, the color of the tattoo will fade and the skin too.
Posted by Em14 on 11-09-2018
Well, I do like to see tattoos on other persons but I have not found the courage of having it done on my skin. The use of needles for drawing a tattoo on the skin is somewhat scary for me. I don't think there is any problem in having one or two small tattoos on our body, but some people do take it to the extreme and get multiple tattoos on their body which doe not look very attractive. Anything done in excess tends to lose the appeal. Otherwise, tattoos drawing is a form of art which looks very attractive on some people.
Posted by jpk0007 on 11-09-2018
Having tattoos is a form of art, and I'm not against it, and tattoos look cooler tho it needs to blend with your body color.
Posted by jayjaydimson on 11-09-2018
The other day I had fourteen injections of anasthetic in my neck. There is a definite reason why I would never want a tattoo. It seems to me, like an experience that is similar and I would never want it again. The needle was fine etc. It is sad to see young people who plaster their bodies in a way they may regret, but I have nothing against a tasteful tattoo if you really want the pain involved.
Posted by Anonymous on 11-09-2018
Before, having a tattoo is a symbol that a person was been in jail. But today, people do it for fashion. Others consider it as an art. Some people looks good with tattoo, while others look scary especially those who have tattoo in almost their entire body. I'm not against tattoo, I just don't want to have it on my body.
Posted by vhinz on 11-09-2018
I am not against to people having their tattoos. Everyone of us has a unique way of self-expression. Some even do weird things to exhibit what's inside their mind. I even have a friend that once told me that she got a tattoo. At first, I was like, why did you ruin your skin? But when she showed me her tattoo. I was so in awe, not because of the design, but because of the meaning that it bears. I love how she expressed herself through the minimalistic tattoo that she got and that made me understand people with tattoos more.
Posted by theresajane on 11-09-2018
I'm not against tattoo. Actually, i'ts on my bucket list that I want a minimal one and the traditional way of tattoo done by Apo Whang-od. She is the oldest and the last original 'mambabatok' in my country. I also want to get ink by someone I know or by myself someday. For me, it's a kind of art that should have a reason or meaning before getting done and not because of trend or to look cool.
Posted by KIRZZ on 11-10-2018
I like the conceptual idea of it. However I just don't fancy all the pain. I can't imagine someone scrapping my skin with a needle. I would however not mind a fake tattoo. The reason I don't wear one is that you can't find the same design. When you keep wearing a different tattoo people inevitably find out that it is fake. I would love a tattoo designed to my specification, unfortunately you can't get that with a fake tattoo.
Posted by jaymish on 11-10-2018
One or two small tattoos ? That's totally fine. Put it on your wrist, ankle and It will look really cool. But one giant dragon or snake tattoo on your neck? No don't do it! Please. I am trying not to be judgy but I can't, it simply does not look nice. Also I don't like face tattoos they make you look like a prisoner. Please don't hate me. As i read my comment I realize I sound like a huge snob. #sorrynotsorry
Posted by katarinamurtin on 11-10-2018
I am pro tattoo but personally, for my tastes I would never get one anywhere except my arm, or stomach. The neck, face, head or leg tattoo just isn't my thing.
Posted by NickJ on 11-10-2018
I have a small finger tattoo. I am pro tattoo, if the design is well done and original. There are some tats that are just plain ugly or badly done.
Posted by mcnasci24 on 11-11-2018
As a Christian, I don't think there's nothing wrong with having a tattoo. As long as it's not against God and it's all for his glory, I don't see any problem with that. I know people who use tattoos to express their suppressed emotions, to cope up with their anxiety, and even to remember their departed loved ones.
Posted by clarisseblogs on 11-12-2018
I am against getting inked. Tattoos are hard to go away even if we use the laser therapy. It is a very painful process. Besides, they are known to cause skin cancer in some cases. Although they might look attractive when you are young, they will look very odd and unimpressive when you grow old. Tattoos are a way of expressing one's feelings but I don't feel like doing it by piercing my own skin.
Posted by kaushikangara on 11-15-2018
I don't mind people getting inked with tattoos on their bodies because most of them do it to express themselves freely. Tattoos actually originated as a form of art and also a status symbol. Some tribes use to to show their power and status in their community. While in some country it is used as a mark for those who have been jailed so it really depends. Today, I think it is more as a self expression and art.
Posted by gutzman on 11-20-2018
I am not against those people with tattoo, Tattoos give me the opposite impression. To me, someone with a tattoo seems MORE ambitious and motivated. I associate body art with being artistic and deep, so it shows they're passionate about what they love and are ambitious with their expression.?
Posted by kelvz1984 on 11-20-2018
I must have answered this question a bazillion times already. But I'm going to answer it again. If you can stop your skin from aging, sagging, and wrinkling, then fine! Get a tattoo! The artwork on your skin won't be ruined!!
Posted by cmoneyspinner on 11-20-2018
Some patches along the way is fine but too much of tattoos on one's body becomes too crowded and lost the aesthetic values of the purpose. Tattooing is art and getting few tattoos on one's body especially on the arms, legs, chest and back are fine but not tattoos on the face, head or private parts. So to me moderation is still the way to go.
Posted by cks003 on 11-21-2018
Not against anyone having tattoos but I am against having it on me. My reasons for it is of course religious but also I just don't find tattoos appealing. Of course tattoos have their own symbolism especially during ancient times when warriors earned them.
Posted by knnon on 11-30-2018
Getting a tattoo for me is a big no. First of all, it can cause a lot of skin problems which can intern lead to permanent problems such as cancer. Secondly, some tattoos just give you ugly and disgusting looks. I personally think I would look ugly and wouldn't dare try. Lastly, it is against religion and I wouldn't want to defy God's rules.
Posted by jailo on 12-03-2018
I am not against it. I think some tattoos are beautiful and it's a form of self expression and I don't want to stop them from doing that because I don't want them to stop me from doing things that I like to do too. But am I gonna do it to myself? Probably not.
Posted by ivandelrey on 12-07-2018
I am not against tattoos. It is a form of self-expression, only detriment to it is that its permanent and laser tattoo removals are expensive and painful. I have a tattoo which I totally do not regret getting. I had a word tattooed on my arm after a break up, years later that word means nothing to me. I still don't regret getting my tattoo. Stop it you. I said i don't regret it.
Posted by pencilneckgeek on 12-07-2018
I am not really against with those people who has tattoo, tattoo also is a kind of art in which some people do really fun on having it on their body parts, there's no problem with that as long it is the way that will help you to boost your confidence then why not. I don't know why some people think that those have a tattoo is a bad kind.
Posted by mhingnhormz on 12-09-2018
I am not against with those people who have tattoo as I understand that its not the physical appearance on how we criticize people. I knew someone who have tattoos but manage to be a good person inside and I know someone who don't have tattoos but they are like monsters inside. As an artist, I accept them as I understand them how they express themselves. It's not about they are cool and not but it's the way they express their feeling. I don't agree with too much tattoos as I believe that God created us to take care of our body as this is the temple of God so. I am in between.
Posted by nekonieden on 12-10-2018
You can call me old fashioned if that is the way you see people who don’t like tattoo. My take on the skin is that it is a gift from God that we were given good skin to be seen by people. Why do you have to tarnish the surface with tattoo? I am not comfortable with a person who has a tattoo because the stigma of tattoo is still on my mind. In the olden days only convicted criminals have tattoo.
Posted by Corzhens on 12-11-2018
I am not against people having tattoos. I believe that tattoos are art that people want to imprint in their bodies. They have the freedom to choose whether or not they will get a tattoo or not. Many people judge them because of their tattoos, but I think these people can be as genuine as those who don't have tattoos.
