I absolutely love bananas! I have ever since I was a child. I don't know why but there's nothing better than the half ripped banana... the kind that it is still a tiny bit hard when you bite into it - perfect.

The only thing that I don't like is when it goes very soft but we avoid buying those.

Bananas are more readily available plus you can use them for baking or making smoothies. I like banana bread or muffins, and they are a good source of energy for those who have diabetes too.

Definitely Bananas

I have a banana everyday with my breakfast. They are good sliced up in cereal too or as a banana split. So good. It is one of my favorite ice cream treats. Bananas are got for you. I have only had plantains a handful of times and I never really cared for them. The are okay but bananas are way better.

I like bananas because they go well with so many things and are an essential part of my diet whereas I rarely ever eat plantains. I think I've only tried plantains once and I didn't really like them as I expected them to be sweet but they weren't. Plantains aren't really a convenient snack because they are usually eaten cooked whereas bananas are really quick and easy snacks for when you need some extra energy.

My family eats banana for two reasons, help us to poop in the same day and increase our happy mood.

Banana is a tropical fruit where it is easily grown in the backyard of any residential housing area or farming plantation land.

Always Bananas

I'll be completely honest here and I really do not like the taste of plaintain, unlike bananas. I'm not a person who is into eating fruits but if it is a banana, I would eat it anytime. I really do prefer banana because of its better taste compared to plaintain but it wouldn't hurt to eat plaintain once in a while, seeing that it has nutritional values too.

tastes better to me

I don't think I have had plantains all that much but usually if I do they have to be cooked and when they are they do taste good but usually we have to add a lot of sugar to them because they taste bland otherwise. Bananas you could just eat raw and they are still delicious and sweet so I'm choosing this one.

Bananas my favorite fruit.

Usually, I refuse to eat other fruits like apples, mangoes, grapes, and other fruits but not bananas. Whenever we have a banana, I always eat it. I even eat 2-3 bananas at a time. Plantain, on the other hand, is not as common as bananas here in the Philippines. It's definitely much easier to buy than Plantain and it's much tastier too.

I'm curious; have you ever had plantains raw? I'm aware they're supposed to be cooked but when I tried them I was a little bit unnerved by how I reacted to them. I cut off a slice, put it in my mouth, and it was like instantly all the moisture was sucked out of my mouth! Is that normal?
Yes, dude, you cannot eat it when the plantain it raw, i recommend you to cut thick slices, like two finger of thick, and you can fry them, when it is cooked put it out from the fryer and smash them, it is to make cook the inside, and them put them in the fryer again and you can eat it when it is cooked.

Well, here in my country we eat a lot of plantains, it is a good companion to our foods, if the plantain is ripe we fry it in slices and we have some "tajadas", also you can put it complete in the oven, or you can put them in water and boil them, if the plantain is green you can make a process where you cut the plantain in gross slices and then you fry them then you smash it and you put them again to fry and you will have some "tostones" or "patacones" here in Venezuela we have a lot of manners to do plantain and that is why I like it more.

I love plantain a lot it's just so awesome you could eat it with anything, I like the fact that it's rich in fibre so most times I just take boiled plantain and spice with tuna this is so rich and filling too. I eat bananas but not as much as I love plantain, plantain itself has a lot of ways it serves me I eat plantain chips which is a form of snack when I do not feel like taking anything at that moment. It's so versatile!

You can eat them green or ripe, you can fry them, cook them in the oven, you can boil them, they are just so versatile and tasty! There are a TON of recipes that contain plantain. You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner and you can even make desserts with them. Banana is quite tasty but plantain is perfect.

The porridge plantain.

Porridge plantain is what mom always cook for us when we were still kids and I must say that it was one of the nice food that I don't stop enjoying back in the days. I like this type of food especially when we are back from school and feeling seriously hungry as well. I also enjoy taking banana, but the good thing about plantain is that you are definitely going to eat it raw or cooked as you like.

I really like bananas better. I have tried plantains but they just were not something that I liked. Bananas can be used as the main ingredient of a recipe like banana bread or used as substitutions in other recipes. They are very good for you and have many vitamins and minerals that can keep you healthy. I like to put them in my cereal and my children like to cut them into slices and put peanut butter on them which makes a healthy snack for after school.

Bananas are great and they also have the advantage of being readily available to eat right out of the peel! I didn't know that there were plantains that were readily available like this as well. In every case where plantains are prepared as far as I know they were either fried, boiled or baked to name a few. It seems like they are implying that all these processes deplete nutrients from the plantain? I wonder if I should try eating the plantain raw if that's the case or perhaps just stick to the occasional plantain while subscribing to my regular intake of bananas.

I like them both actually because they are not just both delicious but also very healthy as enumerated above. Though, plantain weighs more for me, because it can be eaten raw which according to some who have proven it. The raw plantain, when eaten, can ease a stomachache. Going back as to why it weighs more for me, one reason is that it is very versatile unlike the other banana that cannot be cooked. Plantain can be cooked in a lot of ways, making it one nice source of income. It can be made into a banana cue, fried, boiled and a lot more. And these are the ways it is cooked and how vendors sell them as snacks.
I love all the way that plantain is cooked.

I love bananas whether it is the dining table banana or the plantain. My favorite snack is the fried plantain in syrup and placed in a stick which we call banana cue. Dining table banana is eaten as it is as dessert. It is rich in potassium that's why weakling children are fed banana every after meals. But one thing I don't like in banana is that it gives me added pounds. Whenever I would eat 2 bnanas in 1 day, expect my weight to gain at least 1 pound. However, the weight gain is temporary in nature.

I love both equally and there's nothing I can do about it, sadly. I do not know much about their health benefits but whether I get it in normal form (as in banana) or fried (as in plantain). I never heard of Plantain, but from the picture above, I can say I have eaten this fruit. In our language we have the same name for banana and Plantain. I love both of these fruits, however, I prefer the one that is called Plantain. banana is to sweet for me. my mother makes a great salad from unripe Plantain.
