Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
The Call of Duty franchise has been running for years now, with several fans eagerly anticipating future instalments. The latest game in the series takes place in a space setting, and thus targets what may be called future warfare. Something definitely worth noting is the more traditional feeling which distinguishes this game’s single-player campaign, which may be seen as a smart reaction to the recent unsuccessful solo modes in past instalments. The campaign is indeed very enjoyable thanks to a strong and well-written storyline, with believable and authentic characters throughout. As a result of the particular space theme, the developers were afforded room for originality, and this is pretty evident in the considerable environmental variety which the game offers. Some critics have however felt that Infinite Warfare does not fare too well in the multiplayer aspect, when compared to other competitors on the market. While certainly challenging and pleasant at times, online mode still feels plagued by what is considered by many to be pay-to-win content, in the form of gun mods or other perks.

Pros
• Very enjoyable and authentic single-player mode • Splendidly executed voice acting adds a superior degree of realism to the game • Beautiful graphics allow player a fuller immersion in the game

Cons
• Online multiplayer seems to have taken an unfortunate step back • It is quite perplexing why some big name actors were not afforded a more important part in the game’s storyline • Some parts of the game boil down to grinding in order to progress

Titanfall 2

Titanfall 2
In Titanfall 2, the player is put in the shoes of Jack Cooper, a tough guy who wants to become a pilot. Indeed, pilots in Titanfall 2 are powerful and skilled soldiers who possess several special abilities, including the ability to run across walls while shooting at the same time, or double jump to gain access to restricted areas. Beside the pilots there are the Titans – gigantic tanks controlled by artificial intelligence that are remotely controlled by the pilots through a neural connection. Movement in the game is fast but at the same time surprisingly simple, in that the controls never seem confusing even though there is a vast array of moves and abilities available. This positive aspect carries on in multiplayer mode, which continues to build on the previous game’s mode – a good decision seeing how successful that was. Furthermore, Titanfall 2 now offers an increased variety of pilot and titan abilities which make the game even more interesting and enjoyable to play, given the increased tactical options available. An increased sense of personalization is also possible thanks to the newly introduced mechanics, thus resulting in even better longevity for the game’s enthusiasts.

Pros
• The single-player campaign design was incredibly clever and innovative • The combat system and movement mechanics in solo mode proved to be very original and exciting • Multiplayer mode was further improved, even though it already had a solid base

Cons
• The single-player campaign is relatively short • Visuals are not the very best, albeit still good

Mechs!

I love battling as a Mech/Robot so my vote goes for Titanfall 2. I lost interest in CoD a few releases ago. They pipe them out too fast and the multiplayer is too intense.

Titanfall 2.

Honestly speaking, I don't like Titanfall 2. It's not really my "cup of tea" so to speak.. But Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is way worse. I don't like COD:IW at all. Not for a single second actually. So yeah, my vote goes to Titanfall 2, which I personally don't like too much, but I still believe they've done a really great job with this game, and I can totally see why others would love to play it too. - All in all, COD:IW is bad, and Titanfall 2 is better if you have to compare these two, but Titanfall 2 is not good.

In one other discussion about Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, I have commented about the review that the game becomes boring as it progresses in level. But I have to commend the positive aspects of the game that it is exciting to explore the terrain since it is a game set in space. You are like a warrior astronaut. That’s how I understood the description of the game. But to be honest, I haven’t played it yet and maybe I have no intention of playing since those kind of games are for the young people only.
