Ceramic

When it comes to eating from something regularly, I would always prefer and want to eat from a ceramic plate than I would a metal one! I mean come on! What are we here in prison! :D I think they give you metal plates in prison right? Or is that plastic ones? But I would just feel like a dog or something eating from a metal plate all the time! Or like I was in the army or something. I've eaten from ceramic plates all my life and they have served their purpose very well! I've never needed or wanted to eat from a metal plate or bowl and that's what we give our dogs to eat from. Mainly so they can't break them as you know what some dogs can be like! But can you imagine serving metal plates on the dinner table at home. And then scraping them with a metal knife and fork? Eeek! The sound alone would just drive me crazy! LOL :D

We have ceramics plates

While I know that stainless steel has its own perks and advantages I prefer using the ceramics plates.

We have always used them, ever since I can remember. We have this beautiful, old, English ceramics. From plates, cups and more. It's in a white and blue color with various different motives. You can't exactly get this kind of plates if they're made from the steel, can you?

Yes, ceramics is more fragile but unless you plan on dropping it or if you're very clumsy it shouldn't be that big of an issue. I've never broken a single plate in over twenty years.

Ceramics is more visibly appealing and therefore nicer to serve food on. It has the same functionality as the steel plate so based on that ceramics is superior.

Every one's choice in the household

None in the household would want their food served in stainless steel plates. We have been brought up eating in ceramic plates right during our grandparents days.

May be stainless plates are durable but there is a limit to what extent one can go when ceramic plates have been in vogue for years now. There is variety and the table looks inviting with them spread there.

Ceramics in my household

Growing up, I always had ceramic plates in my household. Keep in mind, however, we always had particular stainless steel items to help cook (like silverware). But plates and cups were ceramic made. More fragile, but beautiful designs and patterns over the years.

Generally speaking, all the households I went to growing up had ceramic plates. Because of that, I've always taken it as the status quo. But to go for quality ceramic designs that could last.

Ceramic

I personally prefer ceramic because you can do more with it I feel like you can put it in the microwave or the oven and it's healthier.

Ceramics are amazing

I prefer ceramics because the quality of the pieces is undeniable (the workmanship of the pieces is incredible and very beautiful). My parents always had these types of pieces in their house and they have them until today... All in perfect condition.

Ceramic Plates for Eating

I have used stainless steel bowls for cooking and preparing salads, etc. But when it comes to eating my food, I never once thought of using a stainless steel plate. Ceramic plates are for eating.

I prefer them basic, but...

I don't really like using very ostentatious designs for plates. My usual set of plates and bowls are just basic red ceramic, as it's generally a lot sturdier than plastic and easier to handle with heated foods. But the biggest matter for me is that, provided you don't have a design on your plate with metal/metallic trimmings, you can use ceramic items in the microwave.

best

I don't think I'd ever use a steel plate by choice since I hate the sound of steel on steel and if you have steel utensils then that would be a nightmare for me to have to hear the scraping of both utensils on a steel plate on every meal. I think ceramic looks better anyway and functions well enough that I don't think there are that many benefits of steel plates over a ceramic one. You can clean them just as easily as any other material and the fact that they break isn't a bother for me since they usually aren't very expensive anyway.

The Traditional

The ceramic plate is better than stainless steel especially if you do have a hot dishes. Stainless steel will definitely cool down your dish and it's not as appetizing as it can be when you eat it. It's more elegant to have a ceramic than to have a stainless steel plate. I believe that stainless steel is only for dogs. Always stick to the traditional ways.

Ceramic Plates

I always use ceramic plates when eating and we don't have steel or tin plates here. Metal plates are only used here in military mess halls. Ceramic plates are the norm in households more so on formal and celebratory occasions. Although sometimes plastic plates with ceramic finish are also used as substitutes.

Quality over Looks

This unbreakable little thing is so useful and is so strong. I usually use them for my dogs since they eat their dog foods roughly and it's way easier to clean them. I don't really use it for myself, but I also don't use ceramics plate. I only collect ceramics plate because they're so fragile, yet so pretty. They're only good for eyes to look at, but not to be used. I can't withstand its fragility, while stainless steel is just so strong and perfect, except that it looks bad.

My type.

The memory is still quite clear in my head right now as I can't get it off my mind the day my brother and I fought and broke the ceramics plates that our mom hung on the top basin. It was quite expensive and each moment that I remember about it, I always wish that such scenario won't occur when we have stainless plates.

I have never used a steel plate. I don;t know what it would be like. I am perfectly happy with ceramic points and I don't see a reason to change that. I think I will always use them I don;t have any reason to change.

I like ceramic plates, they look very beautiful. However, stainless steel plates are better. Ceramic plates should be handled properly, they get broken easily. However, steel plates don't break. They may get dents, but you can still use them. Steel plates are durable.

I do not think it is common to eat from stainless steel plates? I never seen stainless steel plates, but I have with bowls. We own some mixing bowls that are stainless steel or ones to wash vegetables, but never to eat from. I would pick ceramic plate to eat food from.

I was raised in a home where we use ceramic plates only. But when I was in high school, that was the first time I have seen a plastic plate. It was a classy plastic plate but I still prefer ceramic plates because that is the standard in our culture. My father said that stainless steel plates were used in prison. And since we are not prisoners so why use the steel plates? Even now in our home, what we use are the ceramic plates. It doesn’t matter if they break, it’s easy to replace. Besides, we have some reserved in the stock room.

Ceramics plates although delicate and breakable are classy in appearance, food looks more appetizing on it than stainless steel plates. Also unlike stainless steel plates which absorbs heat easily making it too hot to handle, ceramic plates also absorbs heat but it disperses the heat making it cool to the touch even if the food is very hot.
