Just to be perverse

I think people underestimate the determination of the Chinese government.

Yeah, they don’t have the capabilities of the US yet, but like a nasty cancer cell, the China industrial military complex is evolving and growing.

Two examples (i) the artificial islands in the South China Sea, (ii) and industrial espionage.

What holds China back is the stifling of dissent and creativity. You need to have people who rock the boat in order to generate new ideas.

My vote goes to China!

I would always choose China! I like the idea of democracy in USA, but is simply just not working how it was supposed to. On the other hand, we have a totally different regime in China called socialist regime. In many countries, this regime did not last very long, with some of the most famous examples being Yugoslavia. But China proved that this regime can work. Look at their population, their income. They have their own social media and rules on the internet. That is just amazing! They became a super power.

China is the future

China rapidly developed from a third world country to a global superpower. People underestimate how quickly things have changed. China holds a huge percentage of US debt, it has more (high speed) railways by a huuuuuge margin over the US, It produces more goods, and has a bigger population. Although China is yet to experience some issues that come with being a superpower, it is increasing its authority in Europe though financial support and cheap loans to eastern European and Balkan countries, and does the same in Africa!

Warheads

I choose the USA because of just one category where it is way ahead and that is the number of nuclear warheads. I believe if there would be a war between this two and it escalates to the point where either side are willing to use nuclear weapons then the USA would win just by the sheer number of their nuclear capabilities.

CCP = Evil

The USA is far better than China, especially when it comes to the government as the Chinese communist party does not respect the human rights of its' citizens. Before anyone tries to claim that China is improving, just look at how the country has started to embrace communist propaganda recently or the amount of Muslims are getting locked up before the state hates' their religion.

More Countries Willing to Help

The USA would win because more countries are willing to come to the aid of America and help them fight China. Even though China has the largest army in the world, it takes more than that to win a war. You need friends and allies who are willing to go to bat for you!

We have 7 continents: Europe, Australia, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Antarctica. Antarctica don't count. So we have are 6 continents WITH countries. Which side of history do you think the countries want to be on? USA would win because more countries would come to rescue US.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it! But I don't want anybody to test it! This is also my prayer. In Jesus Name. Hallelujah!

LOL. I'm joking but I'm serious.

Strategic bases

The US already has multiple military bases in Japan and Korea, making them more poised to attack if for any reason war did break out. From a simple strategy standpoint I think they’d defeat China for that reason.

Has more firepower

He who controls the sky wins the war. The United States having more jets in its fleet is a clear indication that they are really serious with their military. Plus the tech they have, it's impressive. What I don't like sometimes is they always act as the World Police and meddling with other state's affair. It's not cool in my opinion.

USA

I think i would always choose United States over China due to many reasons. The most important reason for choosing US is that it is a vibrant Democracy. Nothing is more important for me than the feeling of freedom and the ability to express my views openly and freely. United States, inspite of all its shortcomings is undoubtedly a place where one can dream to make it big and achieve there goals with hard work and dedication. The problem with countries like China is the lack of freedom and transperancy for the common citizens and the stranglehold of the military over the Government.

US

United States is so advanced even before. That have greater tactics and greater equipments. Well, I just wish that there would be no war between these big countries, because many small countries would surely be affected

I think USA wins

China has a vast population , true that , but the US have many allies , bases all over the planet and they are a great navy power that can encircle the China's positions. It would be pretty messy with both having nuclear weapons for the whole planet, but in the endgame US have better trained army in terms of equipment, combat experience and strategy. (I hope though that the fate of the whole planet doen't come down to this)

more experience

America has the upper hand in this because they have more experience in going to wars than any country. They have been training their troops continuously and treating their PTSD for years.

Quality over Quantity

I remember the words of Napoleon Bonaparte when he sees the vast of China, "There lies a sleeping giant, let him asleep because when he awakens, he will shake the world."

However, when it comes to war and conquest, USA is more experienced. They also have more modern and more quality war equipments. They also have more equipped soldiers and more allies.

On the other hand, we have to realize that nobody win in wars. Everyone lose.

Yes, that's right. The quality of US's equipments is something that you can't use as a joke. Well, with China, I don't know, since they have a lot of "China" products. Hehe

United States

I choose United States. It is because of religious freedom that I prefer this great country. I don't like China because they persecute Christians.

USA

USA has more firepower in its army. Look at the number of tanks, air planes and the naval strength of US. China cannot match any of these. Though China have more people in the army, USA's technology is way too good for China.

Nuclear Capability

I think the United States of America will win in a hypothetical scenario because it has had more experience with war. Yes, China has more possible soldiers or army population but the fact that the US has 7200+ nuclear warheads is reason enough. They don't want to use it but it is there if they are backed in a corner and is forced to.

USA

China vs the United States? In a war which one of this country would win? This is a difficult question and I do hope this two super-powered country would never clash with each other because if they did we will all be affected.

This is only my opinion and I am not a war expert or anything. I think the USA would win because they have the biggest air force in the world and also they have the most advanced weapons when it comes to warfare.

America looks like a better place

I don't know a lot about politics, but I think the United States is more democratic than China. I often hear complaints about China violating the human rights of its citizens, while America doesn't look so invasive and people enjoy more freedom.

Is there any possible way to answer this question objectively? I mean it’s pretty much entirely subjective—based on your nationality and level of patriotism—as to whether you’re going to pick China or America.

I wasn’t born in America, but I am a naturalized citizen and grew up there, so obviously I’m going to prefer America because it’s what I’m familiar with. For all its flaws, it’s still a pretty great place to live compared to many other places in the world.

That being said, I wouldn’t want to live in China due to their extremely authoritarian government and levels of pollution, but I’m sure there are plenty of Chinese people who are very happy to be born and raised Chinese.

I agree just because of the freedoom the US promises(trump is trying to take that away). China is too planned and too robotic. I love to live my own life and make my own decisions. I think that the US encourages independence and free thinking. As a Country it is known as the father of opportunity. China is good in manufacturing and production but it is a dictatorship where the leadership decides what the population will do and how they will live.

I would have to go with USA. I think USA is still the most powerful country, even if not, I would still chooses USA as they are more on freedom unlike China they control their people. The government control people and they restricted a lot of areas where in you should follow the governments rule or else something will happen.

When it comes to economy and firepower in the military department it is the US that is tops and I don’t think there is a country that can match that right now. With China its main asset is not really the land but the population. It can drive the economy upwards or downwards depending on what trend it will take. For the film industry so many producers are targeting China for the millions of movie goers. But given a choice I will always choose the US.

China is now establishing its power both economic and military throughout the world. Meanwhile, the United States is struggling to maintain its power. Whatever the tension between these two countries may cause. It is the small countries like ours would suffer. I hope that these two countries will just wort it out together. After all as a human being, we all just want to live a normal and peaceful life.

I chose USA but China has been developing their army and has been slowly establishing themselves as a super power both in economic growth and military population. There has been tension and I hope that it would not lead to a war. Nuclear Weapons are scary and could mean the end of the world as we know it. I hope that if or when China surpasses the US in power and influence that they would use it to bring peace and stability in Asia rather than ruling it with an iron fist.

I'd go for USA because it's obvious that they have much more powerful equipments than China. But I don't want them or any other countries fight physically with death involvement. It is not what we need nowadays. It is okay to be competitive with other countries but being in a war is a no for me. Just fight against terrorisms and make sure to defend your country and most importantly the people.

A the current state of the Nations' alliances, U.S. is obviously on the upper hand compared to Chine not just because of the technology nor the power but also the good relationship it is building with the other Nations. China is having a bad reputation in Asia because of the issue with the territories. If there would be a war between the two, the other Nations will more likely support U.S. instead of China which will lead China to fall.
