Do you believe in afterlife?

Do you believe in afterlife?
This is the kind of subject that usually brings a lot of controversy because it's not something scientifically proven (at least not by the traditional science as millions of people know) and in addition, there are extremist positions on what to believe or not to believe. While millions of people don't believe in the possibility of the afterlife (no matter what the arguments presented / explained), other half of the population have the full conviction that something is waiting for us after we leave this world that we currently live.

I'm not sure to choose either side (I would say it's 50% to 50%), but I really don't think it stops right here where we are. The world is much more complex than we imagine and the humans are one of the main pieces that complete this immense puzzle called: life.

What is your opinion?

I do believe in the after life. We are energy, and and energy cannot be destroyed. Also thought religion and different spiritual groups the afterlife is something they all believe in, but I will say it's interesting how much the afterlife is talked about, and we still don't have any hard facts about the afterlife, I never met anyone that came back from the afterlife.

As soon as I saw this thread, I wanted to type the same. We are energy, and we will always be a part of this world. As for religious side, I am really unsure what to think. Reincarnation is quite an interesting theory / view. But, honestly, I don't think I want to know.

In some way, I do believe in the afterlife. For example, in my perspective, I think that when we die we end up reincarnated as a different person with a different personality. And since we can never remember our past self we can't tell people of what happen when we die. So in the end because of this, we as a human being conclude with theories of the afterlife being something heavenly, unknown, or breathtaking which can be hard to believe at some time.

Yes, I do believe in an afterlife or rather a continuation of existence. Some people prefer not to believe due to a fear of karma, but why fear things if you have done no wrong? I don't think you can ever have facts, but theories and even with evidence some may choose not to believe it. Take climate change, there are some who don't believe in it despite everyone seeing the actual smog and effects of it all.

If you believe in afterlife there is something to look forward to and if you don’t believe in afterlife then there is nothing for you at the end of the road. The reasoning is that simple to make us realize that we should think positively. I know that there is no proof of the afterlife for no one was able to come back to let us know the truth. But again, it is better to believe than not because at least there is hope.

Very much. One has the option to believe or not according to his conscience. I chose to believe and have friends who don't. We all cool among ourselves.

I am a Hindu. According to Hindu belief system, there is a soul in every human being and once the person dies, the soul will escape and enter into another human being that is readying to get born. In Hinduism death is not absolute death, death means dying of the body and the new life for the soul. Based on this theory, I don't believe in afterlife. There is no afterlife because when a person dies his body will decompose but his soul will be born again.

I believe this is life after death. Hinduism preaches something similar to the Spiritist doctrine, that is, the fact of reincarnating in another life to continue the progress. And yes, this is life after death.

Sure, I mean all we know is out own consciousness, it's hard to imagine a point where I'm not able to have any interaction. I think that's the first barrier that one needs to break down in whether you will have no interaction upon death. Most people argue that you don't remember the time prior to your birth, but that just seems too convenient for me.

I used to not believe there is afterlife when I was young, when we die, everything will just become ashes and nothing else. But when I grew older, especially in these recent few years, I started to learn more about spirituality and Buddhism, I believe there are more than we can see or Science can prove it. So now, I believe in afterlife, though might not be 100%. But, I just want to focus on my current life and live in the moment, without worrying or thinking too much of the past life or afterlife.

Yes, I partly believe in afterlife. Though, I sometimes question whether it is real or not and whether or not I should believe it as it is extremely vague on how it works and what would be happening if it is was real. Though for the most part of it, I do believe in it but really, there is only one way to find out.

I believe in the afterlife. Not particularly in physical form, but in a spiritual and ethereal sense, yes.

To begin, scientifically our atmosphere does not allow our physical human bodies to transcend this form. Sadly, this physical form does have an expiration date over time. However, the spirit and soul that occupies our bodies I personally feel enters into another realm (what you call afterlife). What exactly is in this afterlife? I'm not entirely sure (no one is). Despite this, I am still a firm believer this is not the only existence we as spiritual entities experience.

I believe in the afterlife that humans after death lives in the so-called spiritual world where the paranormal exists. Though it's not been really proven what is the life after death but the bible says there is and that is what I believe.

To be totally honest I would have to say that I do not believe in anything after death. As a child I was tough to live in a sertain way because one day those who don't will be judged and so forth then as I grew up started find myself to have a really objective view of the world and turned to science for all my answers. It can be a weird consept to believe that ones life ends completely when your life ends on earth but as a person with a mostly scientific and objective view, I have accepted it as such. I know science can't explain everything and will always be open minded too new evidence from the side of religion or science.

I was born and raised a Catholic with the belief of life after death. For us, heaven is the best place to be when we die and opposite that is hell which is the worst place to be. I am religious but not a fanatic to believe everything that our church advocates. But with life after death, the best thing is to believe because as the priest says, it is better to have hope (that there is life after death) instead of being saddled with the sad situation that you rae a goner when you die.

Yes I do. In a different sense than most religious people do however. I was raised a catholic and I ended up being a christian during my teenage years, but as time flew by I've met different kinds of people with different beliefs. In the end, I've settled for what I'm most comfortable with, having no religion but believing in higher power. I believe that when we die, our souls will go to a higher plane of existence, where everything is what you want it to be, and eventually you'll reincarnate back to earth as if to live here is to die in the soul plane, and to live in the soul plane is to die here.

Yes I do, ever since my middle school i have been hearing and reading about the concept of afterlife and after all the survey I was convinced that, after we die only body is left behind and our soul is restored into a new vessel (another human body) and we live on. This has not been proved scientifically but I i believe in it.

I completely agree with what you have written. I do not really practice any religion and I consider myself as a sort of an atheist so this topic is quite interesting to me.

I think that there is more to life than we know it. There are so many things that humanity, technology and our society as a whole hasn't discovered yet. Afterlife can be one of those things.

Just take a look at all of these brand new mind-blowing discoveries we make daily - who says there isn't any afterlife? Nobody can prove that. So yes, I do believe in the afterlife but not in the typical Christian way or something. I have my own representation of what happens.

I'm not a religious person but I do believe that we exist for a reason and that there is something else after this life. We weren't meant to know everything but I hope that if I'm to be judged after I pass on, whoever makes that judgement will says 'she wasn't perfect, she made mistakes but she was a kind and caring person and did the best she could'.

This is a question whose answer I would love to find. After recently witnessing death of two of my close relatives I'm really inquisitive about finding the answer to this question.

Does life really end up with the last breath or there is still much more to unfold? In our religion we believe that good deeds take us to a after life world known as Swarg where everything is just Godly whereas bad deeds lead us to Narak where everything is sinful and full of evil. Though the authenticity is still unproven, I would love to unfold the real underlying fact.

Yes I believe and know much about afterlife. It is so deep that no scientist or philosopher of the world can explain it. It was not exposed to them because of their stone-heartedness and unbelief. On a more serious note, man is destined to die after living a temporary life here in the world with no choice, but there's an eternity set aside for man whether he likes it or not with two options to choose from. To determine your eternity, it all depends on the kind of life you live here. There's an eternity of joy and everlasting peace that goes in upward direction and there's another eternity of sadness and everlasting torment in the lake that burns with sulphur and fire. This is the second eternity that goes in downward direction. It's a bottomless pit where trillions of people from all tribes and countries of the world go due to their unbelief and doubt about the truth.

A man had actually come and died vicariously for the entire human race to open doors to a golden place called Paradise, the third heaven where those who believed in this truth have been going for over 2000 years ago. If you too wish not to put your eternity at the risk of the lake and bottomless pit mentioned above, then the step to take costs you nothing other than to accept this man into your life, but he doesn't force anyone. He only urges. That's all. Eternal life is guaranteed once you don't renounce him again. This man is called Jesus.

I do believe that there is something out there after death. Both my parents have passed away and I have received many signs from them since they left. I have felt their presence many times so I know they are out there somewhere.

They have often come to me in my dreams when I was struggling and helped me get through the not so good times. Just because they are passed does not mean that they are gone forever. They are just present in a different way.

I do believe in the afterlife as per my religion (Islam). I believe so much because I feel that souls do exist and also that they don't just up and disappear when you die. Now the logical American part of me says that we only exist as far as our brains and there's not much more to us, but thinking that as a Muslim is against our religion so I just believe it with all of my being.

I believe on after life because I am Catholic. That how I've been raised. Fear God, do good to others, repent if you have sinned and accept Jesus as you savior. All religion has this afterlife place. It's like your reward while your at your physical form. A compensation for being a good follower of your religion's doctrines.

I do believe that there is something else after dying, a different plane, or as you say, an afterlife, a world where we go after leaving our bodies, not like the biblical heaven, more like, something different, tangible but unreachable for us in our time as humans, something we unlock just when we die, and I have this crazy theory that sometimes, we got in touch with that world, creating supernatural experiences as we know them, ghosts, unexplainable events... I named those supernatural experiences as glitches.

I particularly did not believe in the afterlife, simply because the Catholic church does not have that thought. However, a short time ago I began to attend Spiritist doctrine and became very interested in the ideal. Today I am still a Catholic but I have simply come to believe in life after death. I believe we are here to learn and then come back into another life as an evolved spirit.

In the past, the afterlife was completely believable due to lack of information and how the world works. Now in the 21st century, we can understand the process of life and how it works so I would find it fairly unlikely that there is life after you die. The closest scientific "afterlife" is that you pass your genes onto your children which make them you.

I believe in the afterlife not just because of my religious views (Christian), but mostly because I feel the need of believing that afterlife does exist. What is the sense of my life here on Earth if it will eventually come to nothing?! There should be something else in the end of my earthly way, some new life of my soul.

I'm a born again Christian before then became an atheist a few years ago. I believe in afterlife, after we die, we get reincarnated into something, it can be a person, animal, insect, and etc. I don't believe in Heaven or Hell, since it's just faith and I don't believe this is it for us after we die, that it will just be an eternal happiness or eternal hell. No one's perfect, all people have sinned, I don't think that once you get to Heaven, that everyone there will be perfect, that there will be no temptation, you can't take that away from a human being, it's part of their DNA.

While I predominately hold agnostic views in terms of their being a God and an afterlife in the Abrahamic religious sense of those terms, I do have certain inclinations. For the time being I believe that if there is some form of life after death, it may come in the form of reincarnation. This is as a result of all of the scientific studies I've seen concerning children who accurately recall past lives, as well as many children being born with birthmarks related to the death of someone in their locale who had died around the time they were born. There is more proof as well, but it is a very long and complicated subject.

I do think that we have some place to move on in case of afterlife. I think some people think that we just move off. And there is no afterlife. I am wondering if it is even possible to see our way back. So it can be possible that some people may not be able to have the after life. It's just that some of such issues have been in very much complexity. I can't think of ways in which afterlife an be a good possibility sometimes.

Yes, I believe in an afterlife. I think our consciousness is a complete mystery but I can not imagine that it just evaporates once we die. I believe in a spiritual dimension and believe in a loving God. We are his children. We came from him and will return to him. I don't think I can possibly "know" the specifics. I love this quote "Everything I have seen teaches me to trust all that I have not seen."

I do. I am easily reminded of people who passed away by different things that I see every day. I feel like it's that person reminding me of them. I get weird feelings and inklings and i'm certain it's an angel that i knew before watching over me. I think about these things constantly. I'm uber curious about the afterlife and what it's like. I bet it's beautiful. I believe in Heaven and I know it's going to be everything. I want to be there with my loved ones and enjoy eternal life with them. I can't imagine.

Yes, I believe in an afterlife. I am not really sure what form that takes however. I think we have an awareness after life. Whether this is heaven, hell reincarnation or some verison of all 3 I don't know, but I don't think death is simply a void.

I believe in the afterlife. I believe that though we may be shapeless our consciousness remains. It's all about the consciousness, and if we have been good people, our consciousness will take us to good places. A troubled mind and consciousness will only manifest the like. I think that's the difference between heaven and hell.

To believe the afterlife is must on muslim, christian, Jewish or Prophet Daud followers or any other prophet followers in this world. Where we were, where we are now and where we will go after finish of the life. There have a communication called soul. Soul can not die. Great creator has been made soul first- on this earth great creator give life on a soul by father and mother and after finish of the life- soul goes to great creator again. Soul comes from great creator and stay in this world with a body and after finish of the body- soul again do to the great creator. So there have a world about soul and we have to do good works on this world. Because great creator says to do good work only in this world.

Thanks Centurion

I do believe in the afterlife. I have no proof to prove that exists but there must be something....we cannot end our existence here when we die, it just cannot be over. It is true that no one came back from the after life to tell us how is there and if there is hell or Eden, but I have something in my heart that tells me that there must be something more!

That is a hard question. I don't really believe in an afterlife. Human brains are wired to try to survive and the fear of just one day stop existing and stop experiencing this world is terrifying on itself, an so we created a way to soften that pain by creating the belief of an afterlife. There is really no reason for the afterlife existing, the universe is so huge that it puts our every worry to shame, our every war, every problem, every love, every culture , every lie , every truth , everything that's big to us, it brings it to shame and meaningless. There are a couple of theories physics that somewhat gives a hope like the Many Worlds Interpretation , which that every time you make a decision the universe splits into two realities, so every time you could've died you only transferred to a universe where you still live, that's basically giving you immortality, but that's just a theory based on quantum physics and I really don't believe in it. I support the belief in the afterlife because it gives people great comfort for death and i don't mind when people speak of magical lands that await you when you die or all your loved ones will be with on the other side.
