Do you think pineapples on pizza is weird?

I absolutely love it! I only know one other person besides myself that likes it. Everyone else I know thinks it's strange. The Hawaiian pizza as it is called has been a popular pizza option since 1962. Who knew? What do you say? Do you like pineapples on your pizza?

I've never eaten a pizza with pineapple, but I think it can be good. I do not think it's strange to have pineapple on the pizza, because I already had pizza with other fruits and I liked it a lot. In my country it is common to have banana pizzas with cinnamon and also strawberry pizza with chocolate. I love strawberry pizza with chocolate, I think it's very tasty. Maybe the pizza with pineapple also looks good, I would like to try sometime.

I wonder why there is no Hawaiian flavor pizza in your place. Maybe pineapple is expensive there. To be frank, I don’t relish pineapple in pizza that’s why we do not order the Hawaiian flavor although sometimes we are forced to have it when there is a promo of buy-1-take-1 with the Hawaiian flavor as the freebie. There are other fruits that they are not putting on pizza like mango and peach.

I don't think pineapple on pizza is weird at all. I think a pizza with pineapple and ham is delicious. I can't think of too many things that seem strange on a pizza. I like to experiment and try different kinds of pizza. I mean why be stuck with conventional toppings when there are such a variety of fruits and vegetables to choose from? I am all for trying different and unusual combinations on my pizza.

Now pineapple and ham is something with which I am quite iffy. I prefer to have pineapples themselves on the pizza or with pepperoni.

No, it is not weird at all and I absolutely love pineapple on pizza. My favourite topping to have on a pizza is minced meat with tomato and jalapeno peppers and with pineapple! The sweetness of the pineapple is a really good contrast on the taste buds when mixed with the peppers. I am not so keen on ham and pineapple pizza though. I find it too old fashioned now and boringly plain on the taste buds. A bit of hot and a bit of sweet with a tomatoey meaty flavour. Mmmm Yummy!

I don't necessarily think it's weird (although I voted yes, muhuwahahahah!), but I do think that it does not go all to well with pizza. Oh well, to each his own I guess, I mean I know some people who like to eat the things that I wouldn't even touch, but meh they do it anyway and I don't mind. I suppose I could say that I wouldn't mind seeing pizza with pineapple, but I'd rather have pepperoni, I've noticed that since I was a kid, I used to take the pineapples out of pizza, I suppose the sweetness doesn't go with the meaty taste for me.

Its the best thing ever. I have to have pineapple on my pizza. Pizzas are salty and soft. A pineapple is that perfect sweetness that the pizza needs to be great. What a yummy treat. I think I'll have that tonight for dinner. MY favorite is pineapple and chicken w/ jalapenos. It's the real deal. I don't like pepperoni, sausage or any other pizza with lots of meat. I'll eat a cheese pizza, chicken and pineapple or barbeque pizza with all of the fixings. YES to pineapple.

Yes, I find pineapple on pizza extremely weird. I have never tried it myself but I just don't see how such a combination could work? Pineapple is a very exotic and sweet tasting fruit.... and pizza is pizza. I feel like such sweet taste would ruin the taste of cheese, ham, and tomato. It would sort of overtake the whole thing and that's why I never order it.

I honestly don't know anybody that would eat pineapples on their pizzas. Half the restaurants here don't even make Hawaii pizza - perhaps it's more popular in other countries like the USA. I am a standard pizza type of girl - just the basic toppings and I am happy.

I don't think so, Hawaiian is my favorite flavor pizza. It provides the sweet taste on a pizza and I love it. I'm not a fan of Pepperoni, I like sweets. Some people don't like it and find it gross, but not me.

I particularly think pineapple with pizza should match. People usually eat roasted pineapple, resacted and even accompanied by other foods, so it should look great with the pizza dough.

I have not tried it, but I think when I get a chance to eat, I'll probably enjoy it.

I voted yes, because i don't like the taste that is all. Is not actually weird, i am sure some loves it. But not me :(

That's how I feel about it. My boyfriend loves pineapple on his pizza, but I can't get over the taste. I'm not a fan of pineapples anyways, so eating them on pizza just sounds like a weird way to eat pizza to me. The texture of pineapple also bothers me, but that's a whole different story.

Pineapple pizza isn't that weird. While it is rather different it's not disgusting or anything, I'm just not very crazy about it. The sweet and sour tang it brings to a pizza is rather nice depending on where you get the pizza and how fresh the pineapples are. Some famous chefs like Gordon Ramsay think of pineapple pizza as a bastard flavor, but it's really up to the majority what is and isn't good or anything for that matter.

I think pineapple on pizza is weird. I have never heard about pineapple on pizza. I like the taste of pizza as well as pineapple. I think any vegetables (even cabbage and cauliflower) will go well with pizza but not fruits. I don't like the taste of fruits when cooked.

Actually I do find it weird because for me it doesn't compliment with the taste of pepperoni or beef, or make the cheese taste better. It has its flavor on it's own and when you take a bit, pineapple over powers the taste of other ingridients on your pizza. Plus the chef who made this pizza is Canadian so how come it is called Hawaiian. I'm just jpking, I know why he called it Hawaiian instead of Canadian pizza. I prefer my pizza all meat.

I must admit: it's an unusual mix, but not to the point of being considered weird (not least for me). I think if they - pizza and pineapple - are consumed separately, I can see no harm in it. Pineapple is great for digestion and certainly makes very quick effect helping in facilitating the process. But particularly speaking, this kind of recipe it's not my cup of tea. :)

I understand why. My sister feels the same way. This flavor is particularly polarizing, to be honest. This situation reminds me of gazpacho.

I wasn't sure whether to say 'yes' or 'no,' but I decided to say 'yes.' I like the unique taste of pineapple pizza. When I was a little girl, my aunt would bring us pineapple pizza from Bertolli's, and I liked it. My picky sister did not. I am not a very picky person. I like how the tomato sauce and cheese balances the sweet taste of the pineapple.

I love it. One flavour seems to compliment the other and although it sounds weird it actually tastes really nice and it's one of my favourite toppings. I guess it's not to everyone's taste as my partner hates it but we're all different.

I don't like pineapple, but the idea of sweet with savory seems very wrong. I know people like it, but I think it's messy and I can't imagine it tastes good. You would never see it in Italy for sure, but many places do toppings that their customer base likes, and if there is a demand I guess they will carry on with pineapple as an option.

No I don't think it is weird as it had flavour to the pizza . I love pineapple and sweetcorn with cheese and ham pizza oooh yummy so nice. Not had pizza in ages tho use to always get the meat feast or the four cheeses as well as pineapple.

I think pineapple on pizza is weird, considering the cheese and sauce on the pizza. It probably helps that I don't like pineapple, but I don't think that this combination of sweet and savory really works at all. I'm not alone in this opinion either, since a 2016 survey of US adults showed that pineapple was the most hated pizza topping, right above anchovies and mushrooms. (Hmm, I like mushrooms...)

No!!!!! I love Hawaiian pizza and I think that the sweetness of the pineapple really helps cut through the greasiness of the pizza. I also like grilled pineapple on its own and I always order it when I go to all-you-can-eat bbq restaurants so I'm pretty used to eating pineapple with meats. There are many other types of food that have both sweet and savory component mixed in together so I don't see why pineapple on pizza is so weird/even unacceptable to so many people.

In Malaysia, Pizza hut serves pizza with weird flavors and ingredients too. However, pineapple on the pizza isn't weird at all because this fruit is seasonal and acceptable in our country. I love the sweet and sour taste of pineapples pieces on the pizza, mixed with minced chicken and the cheese. Kids may not like the pineapples, so adults have to eat them. You should have try some weird pizza here such as Curry pizza, Murtabak Pizza, Sardine Pizza and Rendang Pizza. These are local delights cuisine pizza that I doubt USA have them. Spicy and authentic.

Usually, eating a pizza with pineapple to me is fine, but once I think about it, it is extremely weird to have a pizza with pineapple as alone, you wouldn’t thing fruit and tomatoes and pastry go together, but when they do it tastes extremely unique. Though, when it comes to just eating them, no they don’t seem weird together at all but when I think about it, yes, they can seem extremely weird.

I don't think it's weird. It's actually quite good. I don't even like fruits, but I like having pineapple on my pizza. It's a different taste and I understand why some people don't like it, but I don't think it's half as bad as what everyone says. Although, in those people's defense, it would also have to depend on where they get their pizza. Some pizzerias use bad pineapple and it kind of ruins the pizza.

The man who first invented pineapple on pizza was from Canada and just recently passed away. I have never been a fan of pineapple on pizza. I have tried it a number of times from different places and I am always disappointed. I don't like the sweetness of it on pizza. I love pineapple I just dot want it on my pizza. I know quite a few people who like it but I just don't get it. It does not appeal to me at all. To each their own. Everybody has their own taste.

I don't think pineapple on pizza tastes too bad (I'm not fond of pineapple in general otherwise, but can make exceptions for pizza), but I also prefer other types of pizzas over the ham-and-pineapple variety. Everyone likes what they like and as long as you're not forcing someone else to eat it that doesn't want to eat it, I'd just let it be. There's other combinations that probably seem stranger which I haven't heard of; I think pineapple is mundane at this point.

No, pineapple on pizza is not weird. Actually, in the past I did not like it but now I do love it! In fact that is one of the toppings I consider when ordering pizza. It would be pepperoni and pineapple, but the most common would be Canadian bacon with pineapple.

I don't think it is weird, as I have always been eating pizzas with pineapples and it seems many people around me like that too. As I personally do not like to eat pineapples, so I usually do not choose that flavor when I order pizzas. I didn't know pizza with pineapples is not very common in some countries.

I had seen this debate so many times all around the internet and I still think the same, in my opinion pineapples don't belong with pizza, is just a super weird combination that I'm not really interested to try. I respect to people who think is a great idea but I would never eat such thing even I love both on separate.

You know, I can understand someone not liking the idea of putting pineapple on pizza, as many people are opposed to the concept of combining sweet and savory foods. What I don't understand is the absolutely crazy opposition that some people have to it, many of whom haven't even given it a chance. How can one be so radically against a type of food when they haven't even tried any themselves to form an actual opinion? What's also funny is how there is no in between, it seems that you either like pineapple as a topping or you're prepared to take up arms and fight a holy crusade to rid the world of pineapple and ham.

I don't think it's weird. These days KFC is bringing pizza and chicken into one product. So I don't think pineapple and pizza would be any different. So that being said, each food to their own taste. And if we consider the random taste you can see that pizza have their own ways for topping and additives. I have not much yet got the handle over various tastes being offered in the shops. So yes worth checking out.

Yes. I think pineapple on pizza is very weird and not nice at all. The pineapple always comes out warm and fogged or sort of mashed. There are just some things that don't go together and this is one of them. Chicken, beef, bacon, sausages, cheese all fantastic on pizza, but pineapples no. They are supposed to be in cute little portions on a plate or crushed with ice for a fruit juice.

My very most favorite pizza is Canadian bacon with pineapple, bell peppers, mushrooms, and fresh tomato slices put on the top once the pizza is cooked. I have only been to one place that served this pizza, and it was called Hawaiian Delight, or something similar to that. I actually prefer my pizza without all of that greasy pepperoni and pork sausage. The Canadian bacon is much leaner, and adds the good cured ham flavor, but not all of the grease. I totally love anchovies on my pizza; but I am not sure how they would go with the pineapple pizza. They also make a dessert pizza with pineapple or sometimes apricots on it, and that is really delicious, too. It has more of a sweet topping and is often served for breakfast as well as for dessert.

I despise pineapple on pizza, my gosh! The flavour combination is strange and foreign to my senses, and I definitely don't think it suits the traditionally italian flavours found on most pizzas. I respect people who enjoy it, but it certainly doesn't do it for me.

I don't find it weird at all and I grew up having Hawaiian pizza as one of the basic choices in pizza. They're cheaper than other pizza toppings, too, so it's probably one of the most consumed pizza flavor as more people can afford it. What I love about it is the unique contrast of flavor between pineapple and the pizza seasonings and cheese. The pineapple is the sweet variety, by the way, so it doesn't have much trouble blending in with the rest of the stuff despite the contrasting taste and feel.

Surely it was not as I've tried different flavor of pizza and I think its probably one the most delicious flavor I've tasted. And the ones with the small chunks of pineapple slices are really mouthwatering every time I ordered one for me and my love ones. Can't remember a particular flavor although I always eat pizza with lots of meat and cheese as toppings.

I love pineapple on a pizza. It added a little sweet and sour taste on every pizza and it tastes great. The combination is fantastic and so good to eat. Pineapple can help you with your digestion so it's good to always have pineapples on pizza and there's nothing weird about it. Pineapple and mushroom are the two things that I like the most on my pizza.

Pineapple used as toppings on pizza is pretty normal in my place. They even put pineapples in burgers! A lot of people love eating Hawaiian pizza. It has a nice blend of sweetness and saltiness. And aside from that, it's pretty cheap.

I must admit that it's not my favorite. I love my pizza with bell peppers and mushrooms and salami and pepperoni. Again, it's not weird but it's not my favorite.

It's not weird and I love it. I don't appreciate pizza except if it has a pineapple on it. The sweet and tarty taste of the pineapple add a burst of flavor in a regular pizza which only consists of salty meat and salty cheese.

When I was younger I used to hate it but now I think it's alright. It still wouldn't be my first choice but now I understand that the mix of sweetness with the savory flavor of the meats can be very good and rewarding. It's not really that much different from people putting pineapple on ham or cranberry on turkey. Even tomatoes are technically a fruit so it's not really all that weird to mix fruits with your savory food if you really think about it.

I see a new idea of eating a particular food as innovation or creativity nothing weird about it, for the fact it wouldn't be food poisoning when it is combined together, then I will be good to go, nothing so strange about it.I love this two combination, can eat it provided it wouldn't upset my system is fine by me.

I don't think that pineapple pizza's are weird or inappropriate, because the sweet and tangy taste of the pineapple balances the flavor of the pizza which is a bit salty because of the cheese and meat. Besides pineapple pizza's are great tasting snacks and because it has pineapple's, the pizza became healthier.

I'm sorry, not to offend anyone but I do think it's weird. Not the taste, just the look of it. Having a thin dough with ham and sauce on it is fine, but putting a pineapple on top of it makes it look weird for me. It does not match at all, a fruit on top of all that sauce look very weird for me. If you give me a slice of that kind of pizza I'll just look at it dumbfounded for like 52 hours straight.
