Do you wear contact lenses?

Do you wear contact lenses?
I do not wear contact lenses as I have heard from many they sometimes just drop off and they need to keep a second pair.

No doubt wearing glasses may make a person look a bit older than their age but as for me comfort comes first. Then there is also the fear of not inserting them in the manner it is prescribed. Question also comes of some opting for a colour other than their normal colour. I do not know if contact lenses are photochromic as that is what is required while watching tv or working on computers.

Taking into account all this what is your recommendation? Should contact lenses be preferred over glasses?

I don't personally wear contacts because I have no need for them. I've luckily been blessed with good eyesight. But I've wanted to experiment with those funky, fashion ones for a while now. Whether contact lenses should be preferred over glasses is really a question best answered by the individual, because it's a question of preference.

My husband once tried to use them, but at the time none fitted properly because he has a condition called astigmatism. It's been a few years now and he's considering trying again in case there's been better ones developed. But he'd only ever wear them in certain situations like if he wanted to play sport.

That is a plus point for wearing contact lenses and that is when one is involved in some kind of sports where wearing glasses would not be advisable. And that would mean your husband would have to have both contact lenses and glasses.

Happy that you have good eyesight. I had to start with glasses when I was around forty. I am a senior now and my optician says for my age my sight is good. What steps are you taking to ensure that you eyes are in good condition?

Not so much these days because I used to wear the extended wear lenses that you can sleep in and developed a corneal ulcer which is excrutiating painful and potentially blinding. For a while I swore I would never wear them again but on special occasions I now wear daily disposable lenses. I still prefer to wear my glasses even though I do feel I look older in them.

I had been wearing contact lenses since I started working 30 years ago. Contact lenses gave me a respite from the heavy eyeglasses that I suspect was the culprit why my nose got big. But since the ophthalmologist said that wearing contact lenses continuously is not good so I wear glasses at home and my contact lenses are only for office use. I agree to the notion that wearing eyeglasses can make you look old.

I used to wear contact lenses for a few years but that was back in my high school. I didn't really like wearing glasses so I switched to lenses for a while. Learning how to put them in was the most annoying process ever - until you finally manage to do it in like two seconds. Then it's easy and fast.

However, I had some surgeries on eyes and couldn't wear lenses so I bought new glasses with a frame that I love and I've been enjoying wearing them ever since. I also think that wearing glasses has been getting a lot more popular lately.

By the way, how is it possible that the contact lens falls out? Never seen such a thing happen unless you're using them in very fast paced sports activities - and that's not advised.

I don't wear contact lenses, but I used to. I just find them not very practical, and uncomfortable to wear. I just wear glasses. I think rather than getting contacts again, I would just opt for Lasix. It seems to be coming down in price. It could be one of the things that I opt to do at some point.

Hello Have a wonderful day.

I didn't wear contact lenses on my life. Doctor said to me- without necessity there is no need to use contact lenses. I have been tried to use contact lenses for fashion purpose but doctor din't gave me the permission.

Thanks Centurion

I wore contact lenses for a short period when I was a student but I found they often made my eyes really dry and uncomfortable and when that happened I found I couldn't see clearly at all. At about that time I read a book about improving one's eyesight and one of the things that book said was that one shouldn't wear glasses or contact lenses but should work on exercising one's eyes. Although I knew I couldn't manage without wearing either at all, my vision was good enough to allow me to do a lot of things without glasses, so I stopped wearing contact lenses and only wore my glasses when I really needed to.

My eyesight didn't improve dramatically but my prescription did become a little weaker and in the last thirty years my eyes have hardly deteriorated at all. I need to wear my glasses for distance when I go out, but at home I only wear them for watching television.

Luckily I am blessed and I don't need to wear glasses yet. A lot of my friends and family who do wear glasses tell me that they prefer contact lenses, but they find that every once and a while they need to give their eyes a "break". So at work and for special events they will put in contact lenses, but at home on the weekends they prefer to just wear their glasses.

Nope.... Too much of a hassle for me. You need to that water thingy to irrugate your eyes and soak your lens. You need to remove it before you sleep because it can cause irritation tovyour eyes if you don't. Its hard to search for if it slipped through your finger. Glasses is like some games. Plug and play. Want to use it, put it on. Done using it, remove the eyewear. Its that simple to used. If its foggy, use your shirt to wipe it of. And for me, glasses in not a necessity, it is a fashion statement. There are lots of people who looked good wearing glasses.

My eye sight are good, thus I don't wear glasses or contact lens. When I was young I used to wear glasses. Since the eye specialist said glasses were temporary for me because I was wearing just to correct my vision angle, I did not opt contact lens (they are more expensive than glasses). These days I am thinking to wear colored contact lens just to look different.

I have contacts and I wear them from time to time but I prefer wearing glasses. I've never heard of contacts just falling out though, as I have a hard time even trying to take them out. They are too time consuming to put on and take off and they feel so uncomfortable if I've had them on for too long whereas glasses are so easy and comfortable and I feel like I look better when I wear glasses as well.

Luckily enough I do not yet need glasses or contacts. As I age I wouldn't be surprised if I do eventually, but as of right now I can see distance and close up well. I haven't had my eyesight officially tested in a long time, but I don't seem to be having any problems reading books or far away signs. I hope I can maintain good eyesight for years to come!

I don't wear contact lenses, but I do wear glasses and for a couple of years I have been thinking about switching to contact lenses.

I do not wear contact lens or glasses. My vision is still 20/20. I do know people who wear fashion contact lens with no prescription for the color aspect, but I do not have the courage to put them in my eye or have any interest though.

I don’t wear contact lenses or glasses as I have decent eye sight. I don’t have the best (20/20) but I have good enough eyes in order to see further away than being in the need for glasses. Though, if I did need glasses, which I don’t really, I would where contacts as glasses seem a lot more of a pain to walk around in, even with my experience of just wearing safety goggles in high school science. So yes, I would prefer to where eye contacts rather than glasses.

I have been wearing contact lens for more than 20 years. I started to wear contact lens because my glasses were hit by a basketball. I found it very inconvenient to play basketball or volleyball while wearing glasses too, hence I decided to give contact lens a try. I found it's okay to me and my eyes won't be too tiring while wearing contact lens. I actually find it more comfortable wearing contact lens, hence I still wear contact lens everyday now.

I never wear contact lenses just because there are too many risks though it looks good and don't change your look. First of all, I just can't imagine putting something on your eyes, just that seems so scary for me. I can't even imagine touching AND pushing AND having to insert the lenses 'correctly' to your eyes. And if they're not inserted 'correctly' it can be very dangerous and even make you blind, which is too scary to even think about.

I don't wear contacts lenses because i don't need them. Thank God for this. I have a friends who wear contacts lenses and i know is very hard for him. His eyes are red after he takes them off. I told him to wear the glasses instead but he want's to look "hansome". I think that health is more important than beauty!

I have contact lenses but I hate wearing them. They spin on my eye, feel like they're always making my vision blurry, and are easy to drop. I've never been able to just wear my contact lenses throughout the day without problems. I would much rather throw on my glasses and go. It can take forever for me to get my contact lenses in, and since I have astigmatism, they have to spin until they're the correct way. A circle is really hard to put in correctly when it has a top and a bottom. It's just too much effort to put those tiny, impossible to see things in. The few times I somehow managed to forget they were in, I fell asleep in them and woke up to pure agony.

I honestly can say I'm not a fan of them, and my vision isn't terrible enough that I can't survive a few hours without my glasses if I needed to.

I don't wear contact lenses anymore. I was wearing them earlier on until one day I git a severe eye infection due to it. Ever since I have been using only my glasses. It is true that my glasses can bother me when I am doing certain activities but due to my bad experience I still prefer them over the lenses. It was always a herculean task for me to actually put the lenses in my eyes. At times I would end up hurting my eyes. Even my optician has advised me to wear glasses. My eyes are more important than fashion and I don't want to lose them.

I used to wear contact lenses when I was younger and I thought that I looked terrible in glasses. Lenses are great and wearing them you feel like it's your own eyesight that is so good but they cost more than glasses. I think lenses are better if you don't have any issues with them (dry eyes, other eye problems) and you can afford them but glasses are okay too.
