Does money run your life?

We've all heard it before: “Money makes the world go round!” Well in a sense, yes, physical coin and note currency (we call money) are used as a means of trade for various services worldwide. From purchasing a car, buying groceries, transportation, taking vacations, and more. These actions require liquidity in order to happen smoothly without hassle. Of course, we all want to make money. Generally speaking, we would also like to make more money. More money is better, right? The question is, at what point does money start to run your life? At what point do you get so caught up in earning money in your career that you forget about the simple principles of life that money can't buy? Personally, I feel in the world of careers and investment opportunities, we lose touch with the basic principles of priceless things money doesn't pay for. So much where we become numb to feelings of love, compassion, understanding, trust, and other emotions. What separates the man on the corner from the millionaire in the office? Not his wealth, it's his heart and mind. You can have all the money in the world and still have no heart or soul. At the same time, you cannot have a single penny in the bank, but still, have the wealth of a rich man simply by the genuine characteristics you present from within. Does money run your life? Also, how valuable is a coin to you?

When I am in my busiest times (working), I usually don't pay attention to much else. Whether it be eating, sleeping, or hygiene I feel at those times the most important thing is just to do the work so I can get money. Do I really need money at this point in my life? No, but I still prioritize it higher than it should be on my lists of things to attend to. So yes money runs my life sometimes. It's only sometimes because I am a part-time worker.

Money is one of the three primary priorities I have in this life (the others are knowledge and romantic love), because I've grown up pretty poor. I remember my parents didn't marry because my father wasn't expected to live very long and the family would inherit his medical bills, and I remember my mother dying and leaving a sizable debt behind her. I don't think the capacity for kindness and other positive character traits is necessarily exclusive from wealth, it's simply a matter of "what do you value most?" and for some of those people, money is their primary priority. Money is one of a few, but one of the most prominent, priorities for me, and even if I don't become a millionaire, if I can at least live financially independent from others and die with minimal debts to my name, that's enough.

These days, money is everything. It's almost the ring master of everybody's life. It is necessary but i dont want it to be the driver of me and my family' life. What i always do is, when it duty time, I am working. With my day off, it should be family time. Not just "ME" time. It should always be balanced and harmonious.

You do need some money, but once you lose money you realize how little you actually need. If you can pay for the basics such as food, a home, and utility bills you will find everything else is optional. Clothes you can wear for a long time, and you can survive on very little if need be. People define success by money, but it's not true. Some people will have cheated to get money and others will have inherited it. Money cab change people's minds and perceptions and it shouldn't because that's when people are effectively being bought.

I wouldn't say money ruins my life, but at times I find myself worrying about money more than I'd like to. I make enough money to live comfortably, but I sometimes worry what's around the corner. What happens when my car finally quits on me? What happens if my house needs a major repair? I wouldn't say I live paycheck to paycheck, which I'm grateful for. I can't imagine what those who do are going through.

Speaking generally, I don't think it does, given that I'm not a very materialistic person. I understand the value of money, since in this day and age it is pretty much impossible to live without it. For the majority of people on Earth, you need money to eat, to clothe yourself, and to have a place to live. But that is where I try to draw the line as to what degree money controls my life. As a spiritual person, each day I try to remind myself that money should only be used as a means of survival, and that I should draw my happiness from sources that aren't materialistic and fleeting.

Money doesn’t really ruin people’s lives, it’s mostly just what people choose to do with it ruins their life. Yes, money can be exchanged for goods and services which is an essential to life so no, in that sense it doesn’t ruin people’s lives but money is sometimes used in different ways such as gambling which, yes, can ruin someone’s life as it can be addicting even when they do lose money and which is why money can ruin someone’s life. Though, there are many other ways that money can’t and can ruin someone’s life.

I don't believe that money runs my life, but it's definitely a vital part. I don't mind not having a lot of money as long as I have my family and friends, but I can't deny the fact that there are lots of times where we just need money for something, so we would have to do a lot of hard work to earn it. Whether it's a relative in need, or your studies, or maybe it's just a device that's plainly necessary in your life/line of work, we all need money. I don't believe it runs my life, but the need for it definitely does.

I do believe that money runs my life and the whole world. We must pay our bills, holidays, clothes, food, etc. The wars need money, economy needs money, everybody needs money. I know people who fight for their life because they don't have money for a treatment or a surgery and they start to beg and some even kill for money. Yes money runs me, and i work hard and honest to earn more and more.

I am not afraid of admitting this. Money runs my life. I need money to eat, money to live, money to remain fit, I need money even to remain religious (so that I can give it to the charity.) There is nothing wrong when money runs your life. I studied because I wanted to earn money, I am working because I want to make money, I married because I could afford to have a wife, I made children because I could afford to have children.

Well, no one should be ashamed in admitting this but Money is an important thing as it lets you buy all the comforts in your life and this hunger for money varies from person to person. There are some of my friends who don't have that "Have it All" attitude, they are happy and satisfied with their small and meager income. You know what? Its awesome for them! Maybe! I will also stop at the juncture where I start feeling this

I do think that to some extent money does run our life. I have my share of the money issues. And most of the time I have found out that family and other people were not co operative for this. You can see that some of the time such people are going to affect your lifestyle. And for this reason I'd recommend working on things that make you more. That way you are less likely to have an issues with the life when you're dealing with money.

I'll say that money dictates my life. If I'm rich, I'll be happy, relaxed and be able to buy what I want. If I don't have any money, I'll be working my ass everyday, be hungry and stressed at all times. I base this from experience. I started to value money when I graduated college. The transition wasn't easy but I got through it.

I don't think anyone can be running my life particularly money. There is a saying that money should be our slave and not vice versa. That is clear to me since I was a child so I always use money for the betterment of my life. When you say money runs your life, that means you are always in want of something that you cannot afford. And when your want becomes a crave then you become enslaved with money or the lack of it. My point with money is to handle it well so it can be used to gain happiness and contentment. Luxuries can wait and if you can avoid it then for sure you are not a slave to money.

That's true. It is big part of everyone's life. It's the truth. People can come and go from the life. But money is something you'd never find back again. That's how the society has changed theses days. And it's really hard to find the society coming back to the stage where people matter more than money. I think that's one reason sure I'd say money runs our life. And every people around us who are into this.

It's a 50% to 50% to me. I always value the money that I make, but at the same time... I do not let it "dominate" me. Money is something extremely important (there's no denying it), but... It's not everything in our lives (at least not in mine).

Money is definitely important as we need it to buy our basic needs and also to enjoy some luxuries. I have worked with poor families and I can totally understand how difficult it is to live in absolute poverty. Working with those people have made me realize the value of money and to use it wisely. However it is also true that money is the root of all evils. I have myself seen siblings fighting among themselves just to get some property and money.

I don't think that I would say that money runs my life because my life doesn't solely revolve around it. Yes, money is extremely important since we need it to survive day to day, month to month but it isn't my only focus. I have other things in life that I love doing and I am extremely passionate about - not all of them are about money. I do worry about money related issues but don't we all? it's just in our nature. But we as long as we know that money isn't EVERYTHING, we are okay.

I think so. Cause i don't where i would be if i don't have money to provide for my basic needs? What would i do if i don't have money to buy food and pay for my utility bills, my clothes and all the things we all need. Let's admit it we need money to live. I don't think there's an argument in that. Though people may say we have our family to focus our life on but we still need money to sustain the need of our family right?

Unfortunately, money is a necessity for all of us (something so simple but so important). Living in pursuit of it is one of our "priorities" in order to be able to make other priorities a reality. It seems like an endless race... and in the end, is. However, I never let money control my life... Because if it happens to someone, everything goes off the rails (and this can be something very, very bad).

So, the order of priority is: me and then, the money.

Yes, without it, you will end up to the streets, though I respect beggar people, I love talking to them, because they are the most honest, and socialize person I've known. Money is an medium of exchange, without the money we could not buy any tasty food, and pay many bills. But, the only thing, I concern most of money was, it can control people's lives. It can control everything, it can control you, me, and everybody. But, the good thing is, not everything will rely on money alone. it's just a system to work well our economy.

Money does not make my world go round. Because I am on a fixed income and there is nothing to go around. I barley have enough money to pay my bills and have a few dollars to spend. For example I just got paid today and I get paid once a month at that. But after paying my bills I have a whole $8 a month to spend. And I live right here in the good old USA, the land of the free and home of the brave. The country why dreams come true unless you live on a fixed income. Having said all of that I am grateful to get anything. I just wish that I would get a real cost of living increase here and there. Instead they keep raising my insurance and I am getting less and less every year, while the cost of living increases.

Money is an essential tool that makes every human enjoy life no matter how much we choose to deny that fact and yeah, money run so many people's lives. Without money, there are things of life that you might struggle to have and there are places you might want to visit but won't be able to do as a result of not having enough money with you. So, I think that it is important that we understand the big role money plays in the life of every human being.

We should not allow money to run our life. We are to make money to help ourselves and our family members and also to help those in need, God does not like it when the rich ones use their money to terrorize others.

Yes of course, to a very good length I will totally agree that money is the real deal in one's life, at mine in quote I live for the money and love every bit of it anytime and anywhere with no questions asked.

I think we all live for the money no matter how much one would try to disagree or deny, it's nothing to feel shameful about to me. We wake everyday and try as much not make it to our various jobs and work hard to keep them, this is simply to just keep the source of income open and secure so that the money keeps flowing through it. One might say that he or she is doing so just to take care of the responsibilities facing him or her but I hate to break it to you, whatever you reasons might be, going after money is definitely not a bad thing.

I always say it that money is an illusion, the more you chase the more it far away from you.If one wants to depend on money for life happiness, then such a person is in for a long haul because the day one can make this money then it like life is all over.I believe what keeps one going is the natural things we can't buy with money.True happiness comes from those things that give us inner peace.

Practically speaking, money does run your life. In my case, money played a vital point and affects my mode for the day. I easily get irritated when I don't have money in my pocket or on my hands, but when I do I always felt delighted and happy thinking I could buy and eat the things i wanted and crave.

Money makes me busy earning and looking another ways to acquire it. It takes lots of time that I don't even have the time to have a social life and be with my family. Maybe its because currently I am not earning much. But maybe if I have lots of it, I would never be too busy working for the money and will have more time for my family.

Money does run my life to a certain extent. We need money to pay for the basic things in life - food, clothing, shelter, etc. so we need to spend time working to earn money. Even people who choose to live off grid will find themselves needing money to live a decent life. If I had enough money to last me a lifetime, I wouldn't spend my time working. Instead, I'll use my time to enjoy life 24/7. I'll probably go on a cruise, travel with my loved ones, or just go on doing things that I love. I love to work but I work mostly for money and I have no choice but to work.

Yes, and I think this is the case with all people regardless of whether they want to admit it or not. Even the lack of it will affect a person a lot because it is just that much integrated in everyday life. I wouldn't exactly say that it is a bad thing though since it is just a fact and that can work for and against you like anything else, but I think if we are being truthful we would admit that our decisions mostly revolve around it and are affected by it in one way or another.

Many people may disagree with me, but yes, money runs my life. You can not do anything without money and that's a fact. I study and work to earn money. If I need to feed myself, have fun or go to the doctor, I'm going to need money. It's all very simple. Without money, you do nothing. But money does not mean happiness.

I hate to admit it but with all the bills, sometimes money does run my life, but not always. In this day and age, it's all about survival and making ends meet. If you become to complacent with no contingencies with regards to your financial outlook you may end up broke.

Living a balance life should be the norm but sometimes if not most of the time making money takes precedence over everything else. If your not well off its better to concentrate on savings and investments to help you secure your family's future.

Nope, money does not run my life but money greatly affects how you run it. Running your life solely relies on how you go through adversities and problems. Also money affects the emotional status of some people and i admit it also to me. But these things are always manageable in terms of mindset and thru actions. I guess being a positive thinker helps in controlling your emotion specially when your financially down.
