Duckduckgo

Duckduckgo
Duckduckgo is a rather new search engine with a new approach regarding privacy. Duckduckgo was launched in 2008 and it is growing steadily ever since. As people start to value their privacy more and more they tend to go out of their way finding online services that respect that said privacy.

I my opinion Duckduckgo is one of the best search engines out there and a the most important Google alternative. Unlike other alternatives to Google, Duckduckgo seems to really index most pages out there and provide very accurate results. I don't use it daily but sometimes just to get a different opinion in terms of search results, I head to Duckduckgo and use their services.

Duckduckgo doesn't keep your IP address and doesn't store any information about the user doing the search. Unlike Google for example and other search engines that heavily store user information to use it later as advertisement insides.

Pros
  • You can search anonymously with no fear about information being stored somewhere and later being used against you.
  • Its very fast and reliable with no bugs that I know off. Very important for a search engine to be fast and light.
  • Duckduckgo is very accurate for a Google alternative. This may be because it takes some of its information from other big search engines like Bing or Yahoo Search.

Cons
  • Duckduckgo is not very popular even if it constantly grows. Its just a Google and Bing alternative and I don't see it as a real competitor anytime soon. It has a long way to go to get there but at least it positioned itself as a cool search engine that doesn't stock user information.
  • Some information and websites may not be found on duckduckgo but you will find them on Google. Sure Duckduckgo, is fast, but not as fast with indexing pages as Google
  • It still has Ads. Did you thought you can get away from Ads by using Duckduckgo? Well no, ads are still present, they have to make a living right? Maybe you should use a ads blocker.

DuckDuckGo

Well from a privacy issue/concern, I'd rather use DuckDuckGo than Google. Although I don't really care most of the time because I'm not usually the type that searches for incriminating, nefarious things! Lol. But I do like to use DuckDuckGo sometimes for some searches because I like that you have more privacy when using it. But sometimes the results are completely different as well and much easier to find something that I need that Google wouldn't show for x reasons. Although you can find much more sites in Google and DDG does sometimes just show you repeated results for some reason which is weird and annoying when you're scrolling down and you're like, hang on, these are the same sites that are above. Don't get me wrong, I much prefer to search in Google most of the time, but sometimes it's just nice to have a DuckDuckGo around to see things from an "alternative perspective". :)

Google
Google is the most important search engine you can find today online. It market share has continually grown ever since it was first launched or founded back in 1998.

Of course it was founded by two well known guys today: Sergey Brin and Larry Page Google currently holds 80% of all searches made on the internet starting with 2017 on desktop devices and 95.61% for mobile and tablet devices. Those are some huge numbers if you ask me and they don't seem to slow down anytime soon.

Except places like Russia and China, Google is the absolute king of search engines. But Google has one weak spot, it doesn't deliver a good service when it comes to user privacy. Google uses the search data of its users to deliver targeted ads, this is why some ads seem to follow you everywhere you go just because you made a google search about some damn toaster.

Pros
  • Google is the biggest and the most popular search engine in the world.
  • Google has the most accurate results of any search engines. Its crawlers are basically all over the place and will index anything they can find.
  • Google offers a wide range of services, I personally love everything Google has to offer, from the search experience to the Google drive apps as well as my Android OS phones. Not to mention all the webmaster tools it has available for free, at least for me Google is my job.

Cons
  • Ads and more ads.
  • Doesn't value user privacy, tends to trade user information to other companies and governmental institutions. Sure they'll deny everything but everyone knows that Google is evolving into a machine to control the masses and gather info.
  • Google may be to popular for or own good. Everything is better when it has competition, especially online services. When Google stops having any competition it doesn't need to improve certain aspects and this ain't good news for the online industry.

Hands down

out of all the search engines, google has to be the best. Its technology and intelligence(so to speak) are far beyond its time. Since its inception google has been a pioneer and a trendsetter. Google played a huge role in the development of the internet as we know it. Google will possibly carry the internet of things's burning torch on to the palm of our hands

Google for me!

I will be honest and say this is the first time I have heard about Duckduckgo and as much as I am curious and may give it a check out after posting here I really do feel like I could never switch from Google. I love Google because no matter what I search for I always find what I am looking for within seconds of searching and that is what I love about Google. They are so much more than just a search engine now too with emails and also linking your account to YouTube so you really have everything rolled into one when you think about it with Google. Google is always improving as well which means you are always getting the best from Google.

google

Google has wide coverage and has at least little to write about anything, depending on how you search for them. The amount of data stored currently by Google is enormous, so it will take a while for them to be displaced from their leadership position. Google has proven faithful over the year, peiple are not scared of releasing information to them.

Before they will be overshadowed, the competing company must be able to gain wide acceptance and operate consistently for a good number of years. To me Google is without doubt the best.

Google

Google has always been my optimal search engine. Although Duckduckgo works well, there are times when I have trouble finding more niche searches and I'll have to go to Google anyways. I usually make Google my main search engine because it's almost 100% reliable.

Never Say "Never!"

Frankly I don't think the Google search engine has any competitors.

I remember once experiementing with different search engines. Finally decided on Google. But the same way I decided that, who's to say people won't decide on DuckDuckGo as their search engine of choice?

Never say "Never!" You never know what the future holds.

I have used the duckduckgo for many search options. But not much beneficial. In comparison to google, you may find that it does not have any specific feature. So most of it;s feature are from the Bing and the Google's own search results. So it just adds and does some form of the content manipulation. So it needs to offer something unique. If that can be done then sure I guess we can approach this type of the search engine.
