Favorite eCommerce Marketplace?

From what I've come to research, there seems to be an upward swing in shopping online over the past couple of years. Conducting purchases through electronic commerce (eCommerce) for a variety of different products you can find on the internet. On the opposite end, it appears as global economies continue going through this type of economic crunch (mixed with optimistic upward trajectory), physical retail outlets are in a spiraling depression, especially throughout the United States. The website "Business Insider" reported that department stores like JCPenny are shutting down 14% of their outlets this year. While others like Sears have been continuously shutting down stores in different locations for the past few years. Data reveals that they're expecting to continue this trend and close an additional 10% of their stores for 2017. Already this year, more than 4,000 stores have shut down in the U.S. It may not seem like a lot, but that builds up over time. Turning certain malls into big abandon lots. Along with this bipolar economy, it seems that major brands, retailers, and manufacturers are also taking advantage of this online wave. Reducing their costs by terminating employees and downgrading outlets. While simultaneously expanding upon the eCommerce world of online shopping. Believe it or not, department stores like Sears and luxury brands like Gucci, all have online stores you can shop from nowadays. Personally, I feel it's sad to see malls and the retail industry suffer. But I do enjoy watching and participating in the world of online shopping occasionally and as of recent, actively. I admit, some items I will always go to the store for. Though I see myself and others like me shifting more towards shopping online altogether. If you have any shopping experience online, what's your favorite eCommerce marketplace and why?

For the last several years, Amazon has definitely been my favorite online shopping site. Pretty much anything I might need or want can be found on Amazon. Sometimes, I even stumble across things that I didn't even know existed but now have to have. As a teacher, Amazon is a fantastic place to find books and other items for my classroom. I also like using Amazon as a shopping site for presents. When I have an idea, I search it out and then save it to a present shopping list. That way, once the holidays come closer, my shopping is all in one, easy to access place. I also like having Amazon Prime, then I can save a lot of money on shipping cost and also receive my items within just a couple days.

I can't count the times I go on to Amazon for one specific thing, and then end up finding who knows what in the lists of related items or "items that other users bought". Amazon makes things so convenient, I can't imagine what things would be like without their services on occasion. Given that I'm a Prime member, the free two day shipping can be a real life saver in a pinch. On several occasions I've been within days of a video or photography gig and I find out I need a piece of equipment, or a cartridge of ink for my massive printer, and Amazon has always been there to get me my stuff within two days, usually just in time for my job. Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without it!

I have accounts on Amazon, Alibaba and ebay. Amazon does not deliever physical products to my home country, therefore, I have only bought digital products on Amazon. Alibaba is a good market place if you wnat to buy Chinese products on bulk. If you want to resell products, Alibaba is a good marketplace. ebay is my most preferred market place, it is not only cheap but also has buyer's protection. If you don't receive the same product, you can ask for refunds.

I have checked on Amazon and Ali Baba but I have never tried those e-commerce sites yet. For online purchases I patronize the local e-commerce site here called Lazada. We have purchased a lot of items from that site already and it had earned our trust. I have yet to try eBay although I heard that it was like a bidding scheme where you post a bid for the price of a product that is on display.

I like Amazon prefer Amazon of all the choices above. Although this is newer than Ebay, their reputation speaks for them. They have good service, excellent customer care and as they said. They have everything from A-Z. Which is true, and maybe even more. I am a regular customer of Amazon and the only complain that I have is they accept low grade products. You need to be vigilant in checking the products first before you order.

I'm an Amazon fanboy though and through. Their services are reputable, their customer service is top notch, and you really can't beat their free two day shipping if you're a Prime member. I've only ever had a few issues with things I've purchased through them, and when I've contacted support, they get back to me quickly and have always resolved the problem with minimal effort on my part, which I always really appreciate.

I recently cut the cord on my cable subscription and have started streaming all of my services using Amazon's Fire TV, and I've loved every minute of it, no bad experiences yet. The Fire TV starts up quickly (probably because of the quad core processor that's in it) and it loads my content really quickly. I generally don't have to wait for it to load, which is a huge part of streaming, of course.

I prefer Amazon because they have pretty much all the products I would want to buy online and they have always been very reliable. Their shipping is quick, and even though I don't have Amazon Prime, I usually receive my items faster than the expected date of delivery. I've been satisfied with all the things I've ordered from Amazon so I don't really have anything to complain about. I'm not too familiar with any of the other sites listed as they are not very popular where I live, aside from maybe Ebay, but almost everyone uses Amazon nowadays because they have the best selection of products.

I have Amazon Prime. I work on some websites that give gift cards to Amazon so it's a win/win situation. I love the convenience of online shipping, 2 day shipping and saving money time/gas, etc.
Posted by simplym on 08-13-2017
That is exactly what I do , too, and I love it when I have enough points to redeem an Amazon gift card ! There are always some really great things that you can get from Amazon that you don't see anywhere else, and most of the time, the price is even better. With Amazon Prime, then you get the free 2-day shipping which is an awesome perk, as well. I always look on ebay and that would be my next favorite shopping site; and with ebay, youcan find more of the vintage collectibles and used items at a good price than you can get on Amazon. I think that both of them have their benefits !

Alibaba is an awesome place to get things at a very cheaper price, this platform is very good for both the ordinary consumers and business owner. If you are a business owner you will enjoy every bit of their service because of the profits you will gain. Although most of the sellers there are from Asia country, the products are of great quality. What you just need to do is to read the positive reviews given by their previous customers first before buying from any seller. And there is even an opportunity to contact the seller directly at any time and you get feedback within 24hours.I don't normally buy from a seller that has below 3diamonds. I love Alibaba because of their cheap and quality products.

Amazon is undoubtedly my best option. Ebay is also a good site, but Amazon is better in product quality, freight and delivery time.
Posted by hermessantos on 08-13-2017
I am not really very familiar with the other sites other than Ebay. Amazon is good because they have virtually everything. I buy there because I usually have gift certificates, not because I am in love with the site. I think that they offer enough things to keep everybody happy, although generally better prices can be found on other sites. It is just one of the things that you might need.
Posted by kgord on 08-13-2017
I love Amazon and eBay both. I always look on eBay for great deals and I always know that I can find whatever I want at Amazon. I like the convenience of shopping online. I don't like shopping and so shopping online makes sense for me. I don't have to go to multiple stores to find everything that I need. I can put it into the search field and come up with several options at different prices. I feel confident that I am getting a great deal and it comes right to my door.
Posted by morgoodie on 08-13-2017
I prefer Ebay site compare to Amazon. I find that Ebay site is user friendly, easy to make purchases and a wide variety of items on sale. You can also make bids which is competitive and the goods are usually available unlike some sites that after you make purchases with credit cards, the merchant would send you messages that the item is of of stock, expect you to top up for another item that you don't want. Ebay is strict on rules, less problems.
Posted by peachpurple on 08-13-2017
I prefer Amazon compared to the other sites mentioned as I used Amazon frequently. I like that their service is reliable and they have never been late with regards to item delivery timings. The only problem with Amazon is that certain item cannot be shipped o my country.
Posted by fishmonk on 08-13-2017
I'm a member of Amazon associates, therefore I pick Amazon. Haha. I believe that they are the most trustworthy of the bunch. I've heard a lot of complaints regarding ebay. I haven't tried etsy and the others.

I think Amazon is the most reliable and trustworthy and complete online store today. They've got both tangible (like smartphones and clothes) and intangible (like ebooks and video games) products. Plus, they also accept purchases from anywhere around the world.

There's no beating Amazon so far.

I've been an Amazon shopper for several years and I'm very satisfied to this day. I also shop at Ebay and Alibaba. Alibaba is like open source shopping if that word ever exists, you can find anything to suite your price range and make a bargain with the would be supplier. Some due diligence has to be done however since Alibaba still has some fine tuning to do in the security department. There are still a lot of fake shops and bogus deals on Alibaba. You can also get some pretty good deals and in some cases you will not find a better price but take care of the online scamps that try to rip you off! I hardly go to actual malls and stores to shop as I can get just about anything online now. Perhaps the brick and mortars should find a way to increase their online presence so as to catch the online shopping waves before it further displaces regular conventional shopping stores.
Posted by Joteque on 08-13-2017
In fact you are absolutely right. There are many shops which have closed down in my country too and those shops now have their own websites through which they sell their products. There are many reasons which can explain this trend. Firstly, nowadays majority of people uses the internet and many of them prefer to shop online. The company also saves cost by conducting business online.

My favorite eCommerce marketplace is definitely Amazon. I also use eBay from time to time but prefer Amazon for numerous reasons. I find the customer service at Amazon to be better and there are also a larger variety of products. It also takes less time for my products to be delivered when I buy from Amazon.

I have good experience buying from the Amazon and eBAY. I have not purchased anything from Alibaba and Aliexpress for myself. I have however purchased things which can be ordered and sent for the drop shipping. So that being said, it'd be not much unreasonable to have the e-commerce marketplace. It's possible to see how the marketplace can be good for selling as well as buying as well. That surely works for many.
Posted by overcast on 08-14-2017
I have firsthand experience with ebay and I have to say that so far, they were able to provide good services when it comes to buying. I had no issues with the items that I have bought, but if it had any, I am sure that ebay will compensate for it. Other than that, there are a lot of available items on ebay too and it can be worthwhile to check new items once in a while.
Posted by giovanniiiii on 08-14-2017
I use Amazon only because it's easy and has more choice. In general I am wary of using most online sites because there are so many fraudsters and the sites can't monitor all of them. I use Amazon mainly for books, but also to compare prices as they usually have the best prices or at least an idea of how much something is worth. I don't use eBay much at all these days unless there is no other choice, but it takes so long to read the reviews and to see whether it's a risk or not.
Posted by Alexa on 08-14-2017
I have always been an Amazon fan and never an eBay one. There are just things which make Amazon really awesome for online shopping. You could instantly see the reviews, the seller's reputation and how long he/she has been on the marketplace, who bought the items and etc.
Posted by galegatling on 08-14-2017
Amazon is the single best online shopping experience that I've ever had. For starters, their customer service is amazing. I've had several instances where the shipping company messed something up, whether it was damaging my goods or shipping it to the wrong person. In any scenario, Amazon always compensated for any mistakes by either giving me my money back or sending out a new item. Another plus side is the sheer selection of items. You can buy just about anything and everything for amazing prices. Not to mention that with Amazon Prime, shipping ends up being so cheap that you're better off buying from them than paying for transit to get to a retailer. Love Amazon.
Posted by Denis_P on 08-14-2017
I have only really purchased through Amazon and eBay before but both are very good. The bad side of the listed sites is that I live in Europe in a small country so all of the items always have posting fees. That is the reason that I don't frequently purchase from them. I prefer my local e-commerce shops.

But out of these that are listed, my favorite is definitely Amazon. I have used .co.uk, .com and .de before. All were absolutely amazing and delivered what was promised without any issues. The paying process itself is done within a minute so it is very easy to buy things and convenient.
Posted by Mehano on 08-14-2017
I absolutely love Amazon, I am always ordering off of there. I also use them as an affiliate earning commissions through my websites if someone purchases the certain item on my site. Their awesome marketplace the others are as well but Amazon is the best in my books.
Posted by moneybags82 on 08-14-2017
I love shopping on Amazon and it is my go to site for everything. I am an Amazon Prime member so I get free 2 day shipping on most items, you can't beat that. And Amazon always has some great random finds that you can't find on other sites.
Posted by BigDreamer on 08-14-2017
I like to buy on Amazon because they have everything, and the prices are very good, everyone can buy everything on it and they always have good stuff. Amazon also has their gift cards and they are a good gift when you don't know what to give to a person. And they have a large list of things on it to buy.
Posted by BatmanWayne on 08-14-2017
Personally, I have to say that I like Alibaba a lot. I can always get cheap items and some items that are not present anywhere else on the internet. Its major downside is that shipping takes a very long time (Around three months to get here) Other than that it's mostly fine. The products are good quality and the sellers are trustworthy.
Posted by Marvadaum on 08-14-2017
Amazon is my favorite site for online shopping. The format of the entire site is very user friendly. It is simple and easy to use. Searching for products is so convenient. The best part of shopping with Amazon are its high quality products and authentic user reviews.

Amazon prime benefits are also manifold. Amazon is constantly increasing its services and this is really beneficial to its regular customers.

Hi, Johnatan I gave my vote to Amazon because I have bought a lot of stuff from there and I never had any complaints with this site. I always receive my packages on time and I always get what I buy. Amazon is legit and easy to use, I also have used eBay in the past but there the time of shipping is larger and I got scammed once. This made me give up on this market platform!
Posted by wallet on 08-15-2017
I trust Amazon, and I like it for the most part. I'm even planning to become an associate (affiliate). I wouldn't do that if I didn't trust them.

It makes life easier being able to shop at the click of a button and have the item(s) delivered to your door within the next two days. It's fantastic when you live in the country, and might not make it to the "big stores" very often. You still have all the shopping you want at your fingertips. It's great.
Posted by Zyni on 08-15-2017
Amazon have never failed me nor my family. It's reliable, known, trustworthy and fast. Its web page is customer friendly, so is easy to understand it and to buy products. It also have an extensive variety of stuff you can buy.

amazon is great for my experience.

My favourite E-Commerce Marketplace is Amazon. They provide a wide variety of products.I also love their gift-card system,so I can actually buy things without having a credit card.Shipping is also ok,sometimes may take longer than said, but it arrives with no big problems.
Posted by DenisHero on 08-24-2017
Alibaba works better for wholesale buyers. Personally, I have sourced a lot of products from them and the variety of products to choose from is quite vast. Unfortunately for few items buyers, it won't work well for them.
Posted by williamk on 08-25-2017
I'm always ordered from ebay and amazon, if I rate the two of them, I would choose amazon over ebay, but sometimes situational. Amazon company had a best reputation regarding of delivery packet and sometimes the shipping is free. When I order from amazon, it suddenly notify in my email that it's already arrive, thanks for their system flaws, the customer have less problem. there are the best, and high reputation among the top service company in the world.

According to a recent ranking of the world’s most reputable companies. A reputation management consulting firm based in Boston. The amazon was in top 10 retailing business had a business model, so amazon still reputable business.

My favorite marketplace is Amazon,I have been using Amazon to buy alot of my household stuff and they have never given cause to complete.I buy and it get delivered on exact time.If you have any problem from buying on there,it will be rectify swiftly by the support.I love the orderliness in Amazon

From where I come from Alibaba is a big deal, if we want to purchase something online, we head over Alibaba without ever considering Amazon, the service is still slow.
Posted by joey98 on 08-31-2017
From the sites listed I've only used Ebay and Amazon, so I won't talk about the other ones (some of them aren't even available here I think!). And between the two, my vote if this was a versus would go to Amazon. Ebay is nice, sure, but in my opinion there is a lot of risk involved and honestly... I don't like the layout of the site. Minor nitpick, I know. Amazon on the other side have a nicer look, a better site indeed, and I used it for almost every purchase. I just feel good for it, whatever should I need to buy. And they are always been fast and reliable: I received a damaged product once, and count a few days I solved my issue without any problem. I don't have Prime but I don't need it. I'll buy whenever I need to, or just when I want to spend some money on something fun like movies, books or games.

I prefer to buy my stuff to alibaba since the price is cheaper compared to other e-commerce marketplace and I can also buy whole sale's which I can sell online and make more profit from it.
Posted by jeiyyy on 09-03-2017
I preferably like to buy in Alibaba of course the price is much more cheaper compared to other online shopping sites for the same quality of products. If you ha d to many we can always sell them online with a much higher prices but a bit less prices in other ecommerce market place.
Posted by jeiyyy on 09-04-2017
Amazon has always been the favorite online eCommerce market place over other online market that are now also coming up like Alibaba. The products in amazon are always of high quality than other eCommerce online market with also good affordable prices.
Posted by babyright on 09-06-2017
Most of the people have voted for Amazon, however, I don't use Amazon much. Amazon does not deliever to my home country. Alibaba is second to Amazon (based on the above results). I have never used Alibaba, however, I am interested in trying this ecommerce platform. My favorite is ebay because it used paypal payment, which is the most secure playment system.
Posted by vinaya on 09-14-2017
Amazon is my preference when it comes to e-commerce sites. Firstly, it's more trustworthy than any other platforms out there offering similar services and also products found on Amazon are of a very good quality.

I have had issues with a site, I won't be mentioning any names, I completed a transaction and paid for its delivery, only to find out that it's not exactly what I send for that was brought to me. I don't know if the mix up was from packaging or delivery services, I had to wait for extra days to have such products returned and another one sent to me.

Definitely, I am sure this never happens when dealing with Amazon and that is the reason why I am completely choosing them over any other site.
Posted by Heatman on 09-20-2017
I voted for ebay as I prefer shopping there and generally find what I am looking for quite easily. I do not like Amazon best for the simple reason that shipping tends to be costly, at least for my country, and it always takes me a while to figure out if the seller does ship to my country and what the shipping cost is going to be.
Posted by sspi on 09-22-2017
Amazon probably is still the best. Others are just scattering to follow their lead and hoping to keep up, while they are just constantly evolving and getting better at what they do. At this point, I am highly doubtful that any other company can catch up and beat them or even equal them because their quality of service is so good and their system is as well. Thankfully, however, even though the others are not as evolved, they are still serviceable enough to be good alternatives. As a consumer, it's always better to have these other options and the competition also probably keeps Amazon on their toes as well.
Posted by Wubwub on 09-30-2017
The e-commerce site which is my favorite is Lazada. It's not part of the choices given above but Lazada is popular here in the Philippines. I find it more secure to shop online in Lazada rather than to any e-commerce sites because of one of its feature, the cash on delivery. I can choose to pay if I receive the item personally, and at the same time, the shipping only takes a day which I find a very quick delivery.
Posted by DanoCath on 10-03-2017
Amazon is still the favourite eCommerce site to purchase top quality rated products, they offer one of the best products than other eCommerce site.
Posted by babyright on 11-02-2017
I have shopped on Amazon and ebay, more on ebay than on Amazon. I am also thinking to try Aliexpress and Alibaba. I am surprised that Amazon has bagged 80 percent votes and Alibaba is second with 10 percent votes.
Posted by vinaya on 12-19-2017
I think nearly all products are from China. Even suppliers in the individual countries, source them from China. It therefore makes sense to just bu your products from Alibaba. You will probably get them at a cheaper price. Because I like a discount and a deal my marketplace is Alibaba. Amazon is not bad, however sometimes they run out of products. I never really use the other market places so I vote Alibaba!
Posted by jaymish on 01-28-2018
There are great names on this list, but I definitely choose Amazon. Their service are of utmost confidence and the products are of high quality. I never had problems buying at Amazon and I recommend this eCommerce.
Posted by hermessantos on 01-31-2018
My usual haunt when I want to purchase something online is the local e-commerce marketplace here which is Lazada. I have made purchases there many times and I already have confidence and trust in their service although sometimes the delivery is delayed by 1 day. What’s good in Lazada is its trust in buyers. They agree to a COD scheme that you order now and no need to deposit a down payment. You just pay when the product comes to your doorstep.

It's not even a question of favorites. Amazon DOMINATES! You can buy everything from food to electronics to entertainment to miscellaneous and unique. It's a one-stop-shop. Also, since I'm an Amazon Associate, I ask my kids to use my referral links when they shop there.
Posted by cmoneyspinner on 06-19-2018
I prefer Amazon as the best among the rest for me. It is a very good market place that provides good quality products. Their customer relation is also very responsive that whenever I got something to ask, they could give me satisfying questions. I trust Amazon because I know that they won't do anything that could endanger their company name.
