GOLF is the sport only of the wealthy

GOLF is the sport only of the wealthy
It is amazing to see a golf course up close. The grass seems to be uniform and there are no weeds especially when the course has been groomed recently. Think of the work that has to be done on the several hectares of the golf course that also needed to be watered regularly. The overhead on labor and materials can be surprising for one who does not play golf. That is the main reason why golf is an expensive sport that is reserved for the wealthy people only. The golf course is the crux because of its vast land that requires to be well taken care of.

There's a reason why only the elite play golf mostly and that's because golf is a really expensive sport. Golf courses costs a fortune due to the large area of land it requires. Clubs range from hundreds to thousands of dollars per piece. Most of the golfing ranges require you to join an exclusive club (made up of the elites). I'm not saying gold is purely for the rich but I'm just saying most people who do play golf are rich.

Rich can afford membership and other stuffs so course only rich can play this sport.

I agree with you. The land that the sport has is the main reason why it's very expensive.

I agree - it’s such an expensive sport. From the clubs themselves through to course admission fees, it definitely seems like a sport for the richie riches out there. Thankfully I find the idea of golf super boring anyway!!

I think golf grounds are harder to maintain. And they cost a lot. So that reflects in the membership fee for the golf. So the people who are into that are usually rich. So that being said, being wealthy that needs to spend on such game. So golf is considered rich for the same thing.

In my city, we have just a golf course which is beautiful, but absolutely expensive to maintain. It's located in a very high rise area, inside the golf club, and I've been there just like twice in my whole life. All you can see there is wealthy people, that can afford condo payments, uniforms, equipment, and services. So, just very rich people can afford it, at least here.

You are mostly right. I say mostly because your position sounds absolute, and there is no absolute thing on this earth. Yes, golf is a very expensive sport, but there are no rules to forbid the not so rich from playing. I'll bet if we go searching through history, we would find at least one person who made ot up the financial ladder by playing golf.

Yes, I agree with golf being a very expensive sport and only elite people mostly play this sport. Golf course cost a lot of money due to the massive area of land that is required to play this sport. Golf clubs also cost a lot of money and mostly golf ranges require you to join an exclusive club. Personally, I find golf as being boring this is my own opinion and I do not condemn anyone who loves playing this sport. This is my own opinion and I have a right to have my own opinion hahaha.

Indeed golf is only for the wealthy. The clubs itself are already worth a fortune. Golf courses are of course hard to maintain that's why most golf courses require VIP memberships. Even creating a course itself is a tedious work, it's not just patches of grass. There's shaping and making bankers and other things. (I'm not sure of the spelling I was only told about this when relatives worked for a golf course construction company)

Have to agree. Over here, the admission fees to the courses are super expensive, the uniforms and equipment are really over the top, and the maintenance is out of the world. So far, I just have met like 3 people that play that sport, and not to mention what they have to pay every time they go to a tournament, that can make me cry.

Just to be part of the Club is pricey, they have an annual membership fee that costs a lot of money. I agree that it is a sport that only the wealthy can afford.

I agree with you. Since the land area is not a joke, it requires big work to maintain the whole course. Also, I'm sure that the landscape isn't cheap. Thus, they need to get back the capital that they put into building it

I also think that golf is only for the rich people. I used to see rich people playing golf as their way in knowing more of their business partners. It is very expensive to play golf as you would have to buy your own equipment which is very expensive.
Posted by ajahcuizon on 12-13-2018
Yes, I can't imagine how much would it cost for you to buy the equipments, your sports attire and the fee or whatever you call it in the golf course.

Golf is the sport only of the wealthy: Yes the golf sport is only for wealthy people who can afford to spend their money for sports, it was to expensive for the middle kind of people. Golf sport is expensive because this kind of sport need a wide space, a hectares to be exact, the maintenance is very important, it should be well maintain and the grass should be trim properly and neatly, the yard should be plain and flat. Creating this kind of sprts is too expensive plus the maintenance that was first priority is some reason why it was to expensive to play a golf course.

That's what I have observed that wealthy folks always play golfs. Even in movies and series I have watched, the richest person character in the movie, they play it's either casino or golf. I think that's really their hobby. I am just wondering how much would it cost to play some golf as I wanted to try it.

Golf is an expensive sport. You cannot just simply play golf regularly just because you want it. You must also be willing to spend your savings on this. There's no debating that this sport isn't really for everyone.

Golf is a wealthy game. I see no ordinary people playing the game which suggests that Golf is only for the rich. Tiger woods, for instance was a billionaire himself. The tournaments would give you a lot of money if you win them and also the participating fee would be on the higher side. That is the reason why, only rich people register themselves for the game.
Posted by kaushikangara on 12-14-2018
Membership is indeed expensive that's why only the rich can afford. most of the rich people play for fun and for business as well since some of them deal business while playing it.
Posted by luv2xacosta on 12-14-2018
Taking to account the membership fee just to join a club, then I would agree that golf is a sport for the wealthy. Frankly, the cost of maintaining such area should cost a lot and to make profit, then owners would put high prices on their clubs. Even golf clubs are very expensive.

Yes. It is only for the ones who have money to spare or the ones who just don't care and spend what they have on golf. I had a wealthy classmate when I was in highschool who played golf with his dad and had joined competitions for junior golfers. I asked him one time how much it was to play and I was shocked by the prices that he relayed to me. Even the shoes and club are expensive. It was too expensive to me then and it is still the same today.

This is so true. How I wish there could be a mini golf game available for everyone aside from what you can see in malls. The large size of space the sports needed is the reason why it is very expensive I guess and not to mention the price of the equipments.

We used to think about that the golf is only for rich people, but for me as long as you can afford it then it does not matter whether you are rich or not. But yes I agree that you will spend a lot of money for golf but I think it is just like the other sports, it is just it isn't popular to younger players these days.

I’d say that golf is definitely a sport intended mainly for the wealthy, upper-middle class members of society. It’s not that a poor person wouldn’t be able to play golf, as anyone has the ability to get good at any sport, but the problem comes with the cost of the equipment as well as membership fees for attending courses. I never really understood golf until I recently started playing golf video games in order to relax, and I quickly realized that there is way more to it than just hitting a ball into a hole. From the quality and material of the different golf clubs, to perfectly maintaining the grass/field—golf requires a lot more maintenance and equipment than other sports, which is what makes it so expensive.
