Grizzly bear

Grizzly bear
If you go walking into the woods in the central area of the USA you can encounter a lot of different animals, including some bears. There are various kind of species of this wonderful creature, the most famous being probably the brown bear, better known as grizzly.

Grizzlies are one of the biggest, most famous and popular species of bears. You can easily recognize one if you ever meet him: a big huge bear a particular hump on his shoulders, and a fur completely... well, grizzled! Like I said, grizzly bears are extremely big and their weight can even go up to 230 kg! Pretty huge, and this is one of the reason that make them actually pretty scary. It's not even a quiet and nice animal, grizzly bears can get extremely aggressive in various cases, like if you are in their territory, or if you get too close to some cubs. Most people also often feed bears, making them trust humans too much and getting way too close... a very dangerous situation, for both the bears and the humans.

But we shouldn't consider grizzlies just dangerous creatures: they are pretty cool and majestic, if saw from a safety distance. Like I said, you can see them around the central area of the USa, and expecially in the famous Yellowstone Park - they are basically the symbol of the park. The name Yellowstone maybe make you think about a pretty famous bear, Yogi, which according to the official words of his creator is indeed a grizzly bear, altough a bit smaller than usual. Another famous bear appears in the Disney movie Brother Bear: the little Koda is a grizzly bear, and the protagonist of the movie get turned indeed into a grizzly. If you are more into culture, there is a interesting documentary that you could watch if you are interested in those creatures. The first one is Grizzly Man, by Werner Herzog: it's about a researcher, Timothy Treadwell, that spend many years alongside bears, studying them and actually feeling like one of them. Eventually he got actually killed in a bear attack, sadly.

In any case, grizzly or brown bears are one of the most popular animals of the planet.

  • Big and massive
  • A pretty grizzled fur
  • Can eat almost anything, from plants to animals
  • They can live pretty long, around 20-25 years

  • Can get very aggressive
  • One of the most territorial animals
  • Most of the time is a solitary animal, not loving living in a group
  • They are becoming rarer every year

Definitely Grizzly bear

Grizzly bear are strong and healthy, bigger and strong bone structure and more aggressive than the Polar bear. Polar bear are larger than Grizzly bear but not that strong I seen a footage where Grizzly bear in cold condition is still fighting against the Polar bears and I will go with grizzly bear. So for me Grizzly is more aggresive and stronger than Polar bear.

I like brown

The brown color of the grizzly bear makes it a winner for me. I think that brown is the ideal color for bears. I know that grizzly bears are dangerous, but ever since I watched the movie Brother Bear by Disney, I kinda learned to love these types of bears. When I look at grizzly bears, I see something that is cute and cuddly. Not something that is scary and dangerous.

Brown color

They are both really amazing and yet scary animals but I have seen the grizzly bear in a zoo. I can't even express how huge these bears are.

I can't imagine how scary it must be if you are face-to-face with this guy. I wouldn't know what the hell to do.

I also love the brown color of their furs and have a ton of respect for them.

Grizzly If You Ask Me

These are truly amazing, and at times, terrifying animals. Polar bears are incredibly formidable, but it seems that, to me, being in North America (I guess) that the grizzlies are much more common and can just come out of nowhere on you while you are camping or hiking in the woods. Seeing as how I won't be vacationing on the North Pole anytime soon, the Grizzly is more of an imminent thread. I can imagine one standing on its hind legs and hovering over me in anger. I would really hate for THAT to be the last thing that I see on this earth. They have been portrayed in many films as incredible predators and territorial beasts.
Posted by JoeMilford on 01-07-2018

I'm not too sure about, which one would win in a fight, but it depends on a lot of things. Both of them live in different types of environments, so depending on where the fight takes place, the results will be different. There are also different examples of both types of bears, so there's that. Do we have trained fighter bears ?

Likes the aggression!

One thing that I enjoy when I watch the grizzly bear on tv is the aggression of which they use to find their food. This is something that you can't really get in some animals, but the bear always show that they are out there to communicate this hunger through anger to fight for every meal out there which they want to eat.

Grizzly bear

I definitely like ( and respect ) grizzly bears more. They are more aggressive and dangerous, despite being generally smaller. I've seen one grizzly chase off a group of polar bears from an animal carrion. They are definitely the ultimate bears as far as I'm concerned.

What A Sight?

Bears look majestic and stately. I love the grizzly bear more. It looks quite great and almost kingly.

It is unfortunate that the grizzly bear is dangerous. I don't blame them because it is the way they protect themselves and loved ones. Though I know little about the polar bear

Grizzly Bear

We must take good care of these bears because soon if we disregard the fact that the population of these bears are being reduced, someday we may live without them and for sure we will regret it. Yes, they are dangerous but as a mammal that is in the top of the food chain and we possess these intelligence it is our responsiblity to take good care of them. Unlike polar bears they can be found much likely in the earth because western countries have different kind of bears.

"I'm smarter than the average bear!"

Yogi Bear is the iconic cartoon grizzly of Jellystone National Park who has the catchphrase, "I'm smarter than the average bear!" And this is true. Grizzly bears are considered to be one of the most intelligent land animals that can be trained and perform complex tasks. Proof of this is in the circus where there are grizzly bears balancing on balls and riding roller skates.

Care Bear

Though we know that bears are dangerous and scary, it is amazing for me to see that these big and strong dangerous creature are usually used to represent love and care to children. Bear stuffed toys are one of the most popular and most loved in our country. Everyone loves bear stuffed toys especially bigger ones but unfortunately, It's impossible for someone to hug a real one. I vote for the Grizzly Bear because for me it's the iconic one.
Posted by burgosmichael2407 on 11-01-2018

The bear was brown!

When I was a kid my family went to a circus and before you enter the venue, you would be greeted by a real life bear. It was smaller than the usual I see on Nat Geo or any animal channels but it was brown. I still have the picture of that bear and me hugging it to this day. As an adult, I am opposed to animal captivity. So, I am voting Grizzly Bear in memory of that brown bear who didn't maul the 7 year old me. Thanks bear!
Posted by pencilneckgeek on 12-07-2018

Grizzly for sure

I believe Grizzly is superior, because he's a mainland "character" (better food and environment). He's a lot more stronger as well, even though the polar one is strong too, but the grizzly is just overwhelmingly bigger and a lot more massive.

Polar bear

Polar bear
There is a saying about bears: if it's brown, lay down. If it's black, fight back. If it's white, goodnight. Also, local people of the polar bear habitat say that once you see one he already decided to eat you, after stalking you for hours. On ice and snow, there is no chance to escape. What you have in front of you is the biggest carnivorous animal on land, a force of nature that must survive everyday in a extremely hostile environment, where every other creature have a lot of strenght. After all think about the animals that live in the artic zones: they are big and strong, having to survive in the least friendly place on Earth. Polar bears must fight everyday against the cold and against their food: they can't just go to a walrus and eat it. The walrus will fight back! Maybe a seal, the corpse of a whale, fish, or foxes won't fight too much but they will also have less nutritional resources. Luckily for the bear, this massive strenght means that he doesn't have to worry about enemies: in his area, he's at the top of the food chain! No one will ever hunt him (except humans) and the only danger are wolves for cubs.

It's easy to recognize a polar bear since it's. well, white, and living just in a few areas of our planet. But being so rare it's also one of the reason about why those animals are so wonderful and unique! With a massive strenght, it's incredible how they manage to live and survive each day, and fictional works (and others) recognized how awesome they are, and this is why we can find them in many works.

For example, remember that movie, Balto? There were some polar bears in it, with the role of comical relief altough. Or in The Golden Compass (both book and movie), there are some heavily armored polar beark extremely cool. And of course, Coca Cola often uses a polar bear like his main character in advertising.

Polar bear, most likely the grizzly bears, are a force of nature, the proof that even in the most hostile of the environments, life can win.

  • The biggest carnivorous on land
  • Doesn't have any natural enemy
  • A majestic white fur
  • Very good swimmers

  • If you see one, you are already doomed
  • Can be found only in very few places of Earth
  • Slowly on the way of extiction

Gorgeous and Endangered

The fact that they're such an eye-popping color. That vivid white coat is so beautiful. As well as the fact that they're endangered just adds to my love for them. I want them all to be saved. Their homes melting just saddens me.

Also, a bear that's excellent at swimming? That's just cool.

hope to see one

i haven't seen polar bear in real life.only on books and tv.the only thing know about them are, they are carnivorus.they move slowly and rest often to avoid overheating..i hope i will see one in the future.
Posted by Anonymous on 03-19-2018

more rare and beautiful

It's hard not to love a polar bear. They are so stunning in their white fur coats. They are rarer because you have to travel so far to see them in their natural habitat. Grizzly bears are terrifying and have a reputation for being dangerous and aggressive. I would much prefer to experience a Polar Bear encounter rather than a Grizzly.
Posted by Mahshiemonalisa on 01-18-2018

I would love to see them both but if I had to pick one then it would have to be the Polar bear. The fact that they are endangered especially because of the issues with global warming melting their environment means we may never see them again after a few years
Posted by kingcool52 on 03-25-2018

Polar Bears

I love their unique white color. I just hope something can be done to save them..or they may exist only in zoos in the future. They are amazing creatures.
Posted by kgord on 01-07-2018

Polar bear looks cute!

I haven't meet any bears before as I think they are not common here. I only get to them in movies or books. The picture books always show bears are cute, though they are quite dangerous. I always prefer Polar bear, as the white fur makes them look unique, nice and peaceful. Moreover, I don't think I will ever have a chance to see them in real life.
Posted by kaka135 on 01-08-2018

Polar bear

I think both bears are great masterpieces of nature. Each has its natural habitat and is at the base of the food chain. I have not particularly seen a bear since I live in a tropical country and we do not have bears around here. Anyway, I find the polar bear more beautiful and for that reason I will simply vote for him.
Posted by hermessantos on 01-09-2018
Exactly the point I was trying to make on my comment. Polar bears takes the vote from me. Asides the fact that they are more beautifully attracting than their cousins the grizzly bear, I think they are likely more stronger and have the ability to survive in harsher living conditions than the grizzly bears.

Save the Polar Bears

They are both God's creatures and they are both awesome. However I don't hear very many reports about the grizzly bear being at risk because of environmental changes or hunting or anything that is endangering their lives. By contrast, I have heard reports about the polar bear population possibly decreasing because their natural environment is being disturbed by global warming. I have always thought these majestic creatures were very beautiful. It's odd. When I look at the grizzly bear it evokes fear. The polar bear is just as huge but it doesn't strike near as much fear in my heart. That's not to say if I came face to face with one that I wouldn't run! LOL.
Posted by cmoneyspinner on 03-29-2018

Polar Bear

These polar bears can be cute. And they can be peaceful too. Though there are incidents of those bears going out of control. And that is another reason for polar bears being one of my favorite. I like polar bears most of the time.
Posted by overcast on 01-08-2018

I just love them

We don't have bears over here and I hope that I get to see one in the future. I have watched some movies and documentaries featuring polar bears and ever since I have developed a strong liking for them. I believe that they are unique creatures. In fact, my friends always make fun of me because I like most of the world's dangerous creatures.
Posted by Pixie on 01-07-2018

Must be protected.

Few animals are as iconic as the polar bear, which makes its status as an endangered species all the much sadder.

Global warming, the destruction of its habitat and the lack of food are slowly killing these majestic creatures, and that's precisely why we must make sure to protect them and highlight their importance to the world's fauna.

For that, and for its beauty, polar bears win.

Posted by VintageRose on 02-19-2018

Let's Save Them.

Even though i haven't seen both of the bears in real life, because they do not exist in my country, i would still like to express my opinion to which one to choose. I picked the polar bear only because of the fact that they are endangered and they are the first ones to feel the great effects of the Climate Change.
Posted by Genryodan on 06-27-2018

I prefer to see a Polar bear than the grizzly bear because they look so cute but fearsome. I love how the way they hunt and how they can swim. Their fur is really beautiful and so white (to the point that I want it as a coat) but that's illegal so don't mind me. :D I've seen some documentary about them on Youtube and I'm truly fascinated with their species.
Posted by ColdFlameChris on 01-17-2018

Polar Bear

The Polar Bear because they have such a unique look and quality to them.
Posted by NickJ on 01-07-2018

Beautiful and Majestic

Their white fur looks very beautiful combined with the color palette of their environment. Since they live far from human communities, it is always interesting to see/watch how different their way of living and mechanism are from what is common here in tropical countries.
Posted by hazel42704 on 03-02-2018

Cute but deadly.

I prefer polar bears.

They're stronger and better at surviving in harsh cold climates. They also have beautiful white fur coats that make them deceptively attractive in their own way.

Most of them are patient enough to hunt for their food. The worst thing that could happen is for us to end up being their target. But despite their fearsome power, they're much cuter than grizzlies.

Posted by Steve5 on 01-24-2018

Very interesting but dangerous

The first reason why I love Polar bear is because of its white color. White happens to be my favorite color and should I see animals with white color, I instantly fall in love with them. Polar bear's white color makes it look lovely but don't get deceived by the lovely color because they are as dangerous as hell and their environment dwelling on ice makes them cold and evil.
Posted by Martinsx on 01-29-2018

Polar Bear

I guess this polar bear is pretty cute than this other one. We can see it smooth fur and very clean color which is white unlike this other one :)
Posted by mar06 on 01-08-2018

Amazing Animals

I have to choose polar bears on this one. Although I find both bears fascinating, I think that polar bears are a little bit cooler for a few reasons. One, I think that polar bears are more beautiful with their bright white fur, they really stand out in a crowd. Two, their ability to swim is really breathtaking if you ever get to see it in person (hopefully in a zoo). Finally, they are the best and most aggressive hunters of all bears. They can really put up a fight.

JB Fernandez

Polar bears is much more cuter and lovable compared to grizzly bears. And it needs more attention now as they suffer a lot from the climate change. We might not see them again alive in few more years.
Posted by JB Fernandez on 02-15-2018

We don't have snow where I came from and while I believe the polar bear is more dangerous, I always thought of polar bears as associated to the cold weather, which makes it a rarer species to me compared to the grizzly. Its color also differentiates it from the other animals out there, since the grizzly bear fur reminds me as of that of a regular dog or housecat.
Posted by treecko142 on 02-08-2018

As simple as their cuteness, that Is how I choose from the two bears. They have both strength and power. Same level of danger if you meet either of the two. But one factor that left the other one by the other is its cuteness. :)
Posted by MomoStarr16 on 03-09-2018

Polar Bear!

I like polar bears because they are somewhat like a mother to my sight. Polar bears also look really cute and fluffy. But the only thing I hate on them is that they are not calm creatures! They hate human which they would attack anytime if they see one. If only polar bear can pet like a dog, that would be really amazing but they are naturally born with aggressiveness so then let them be.
Posted by mitan143 on 09-19-2018

Polar White

I like polar bears mainly because you rarely see them even on television. Their furs are clean white and look majestic. I hope that they do not get extinct because of global warming and they still find animals to feed on because I see pictures of starving polar bears on social media.
Posted by EfficientNinja on 04-09-2018

They are beautiful

Polar bears are more rare.I only saw one in my life and that one is at our zoo in Belgrade. The fact that they are so beautiful with their white fur is just amazing to see but also they are really dangerous and I would never want to come up close to one because I would probably end up as lunch for him.

I think I like Polar bears because they are cuter than a Grizzly bear. I don't know, maybe both are wild but I will just look in the outside appearance.
Posted by on 07-17-2018

What kind of bear is best? Black bear. Bear. Beets

Polar bears are more friendly looking than the Grizzly bear. They're more endangered than the other so I pick polar bears. They are directly affected by Global warming which we humans caused.
Posted by rlpzbeermoney on 09-19-2018

They are stronger and also a good swimmer. I also liked their white fur because of it they can easily camouflage in the snow. They are also very cute compare to grizzly bear.

Polar bear

I vote for Polar bear. I like to see the white color of this bear. They can survive in cold place.

Polar Power

I have watched a documentary from lonely planet about the polar bears. Yes its true that these bears are big, carnivorous and dangerous. However, we must not ignore the struggles that they have to face specifically because of climate change. In anyway we must not let these two beautiful creatures go extinct. We must save them
Posted by bee.rthooyah on 09-17-2018

I like White

A great match-up. This fight could go either way. Polar bears are bigger and heavier while grizzly bears are more savage and aggressive and it seems the grizzly bears are way more aggressive while polar bears are peaceful.

My vote goes to the polar bears because I like that they can survive cold winters and travel a lot. They look cleaner too because they're white-colored.

Posted by NerdIndeed on 10-08-2018

Lets Hear it for Polar Bears.

These magnificent animals are endangered and need a strong profile so they get the publicity needed for people to realise they need us to fight for their survival. I have never seen one, and unless in a zoo, would not want to get close up and personal, but they are beautiful and from a distance, look sweet.
Posted by HappyLady on 10-04-2018

Polar Bear

The choice is very easy for me, i would undoubtedly choose the Polar bear over the grizzly bear. Actually the main reason for that must be the fact that i have never seen a polar bear in my life. I have always seen them on the television and they really look very beautiful and cute due to there White colour. Polar bears might have very less contact with humand due to there habitat. Grizzly berson the other hand are known to be very agressive and do attack humans sometimes.
Posted by jpk0007 on 12-17-2018

Both species of bear are wonderful. But, I would go with Polar Bears. I've seen them so many times on the books, documentaries and other forms of shows. All I can say is, I want to see them, though it could be dangerous and near to impossible, It would be such an honor to be able to see a cold-looking, majestic, almost surreal polar bear once before I die.
Posted by theresajane on 10-10-2018

More majectic in every way

There real is a certain appeal when you see that whit coat of fur. It's like a snow covered beauty of an animal. It's like seeing a magical creature come to life. They exhibit certain regal and majesty. It is really sad to know that these creatures are slowly dying to extinction.

It's so hard to choose between the two but I like the one with the majestic fur more. Polar bears are so big and dangerous yet so cute and fluffy. I wish I could own a bear cub.

Polar bears!

I haven’t seen any bears honestly. I would prefer to see a polar bear for their color. I know they are not really but they look so cute.

Polar Bears 100%

Polar bears are leagues above grizzley bears in every way: they are bigger, tougher and live in more harsh enviornments. They are a cooler color (how many pure white animals are there?) and they could definitely beat a brown bear in a fight.
Posted by Jstreeter26 on 10-26-2018

Looks kinder and cuter

Polar bears looks more cuter and kinder than grizzly bears. They are also more rare compared to grizzly bears so it would be amazing to actually see one. Grizzly bears looks a bit more wild in contrast to polar bears.

Polar bear

I vote for polar bear. I like the color of their fur which is white. They can survive the cold climate because of their very thick fur.

Bear Bear Bear

Climate change is steering grizzly bears and polar bears on a collision course. When they meet in the middle, fights are inevitable. Find out who is favored to win, evolutionarily speaking.

It's long been shown that the rapidly warming earth is bad news for polar bears. Their habitat is shrinking, as are their food sources and breeding grounds. If global warming continues, they may face a tough competitor. Grizzly bear habitat is limited by frigid winters and sheets of ice. As their world warms up, they're expanding north.

The habitats of the two predators are already beginning to overlap. If they continue to do so, the polar bears, not the grizzlies, are going to be the losers in the competition for survival. This is surprising to some. Grizzlies are just a frighteningly-named subspecies of brown bear. They're not even the biggest of the subspecies of brown bears. Polar bears are bigger, and have a nastier reputation than grizzlies. They are thought to be more aggressive, and are more dependent on meat for food.

It's that protein diet that tips the odds against polar bears if the species are in competition. Polar bears have adapted to eating flesh. Brown bears are omnivorous. The more gentle diet means that the brown bear's jaws and stronger and teeth are bigger. Fat and flesh require less strength to tear and less endurance to break down. A head-on fight would result in a victorious polar bear, but scavenging the same swath of land for food results in a starving one. Unless their exclusive habitat is protected, the world may lose polar bears for good.

Polar Bear? More like Coca-Cola Bear!

I'm an avid drink of Coca-Cola, so I suppose I must confess my bias in this answer as Polar Bears are a marketing tool by Coca-Cola in their advertisements. Besides this bias, however, I think polar bears look cuter and friendly even though I very well know that they are not.
Posted by EffectSix on 11-05-2018
I laughed a lot at your Coca-Cola argument! But really, after you see a couple of their ads, you can't help but love polar bears. They look so adorable!

Polar bears!

Did you know that Polar bears have black skin and their fur looks white but it's really transparent? Seals make up the most of their diet and they spend most of their time at sea. They have 42 teeth and they have an excellent sense of smell.

I have not seen a real bear in my life, but given a choice, I would choose polar bear because of its white fur, its ability to stay alive in the North is just amazing.
Posted by peachpurple on 01-07-2018
Even though they are both beautiful creatures in their own way I would never want to have a close look at either one of them. They are both beasts that would kill you in a minute. They are fascinating and I enjoy looking at pictures of them and reading about their way of live. I do not have one that I favor over the other.
Posted by Sue on 01-07-2018
You are right that they are both beasts and dangerous especially at close range because just one false move and the bear can hit you that will cause a fatal result. But I love to see a bear in captivity and I have seen some already although they are the small bears and not the big ones. I think the polar bear is a big bear that is taller than a person and bigger and stronger, of course. The white fur gives the polar bear a majestic image.
Posted by Corzhens on 12-16-2018
I love polar bear because they are rare and because they are white, they look cute. They may seem fascinating to look at but of course they eat and hunt so I wouldn't dare to be close either but would prefer to be closer if I'm safe.

The grizzly bear is a cool and majestic animal but it is still dangerous for humans to get close to them.
Posted by babyright on 01-07-2018
I think we don't have the grizzly bears here. And most of the Asian bears that we have can be something I'd not choose for keeping around. And if you can see how the polar bears can be fun too. Apart from that you can see that polar bears are fun in many ways. You just have to understand that some of those bears are indeed fun to watch in the zoo. That's something I can say for sure.
Posted by overcast on 01-08-2018
Am a big lover of National Geographic Channel, every time I watch a documentary on one wild animal to another, I always get this question like that of this topic going through my mind. Most times I draw parallels between a lion and a grizzly bear, never have I thought of comparing a grizzly and a polar bear.

Going back to your question, I'll like to think that a polar bear could most likely defeat a grizzly in terms of strength. A polar bear lives in one of the most harshest environment around and still manges to survive. Grizzly's are more fortunate when it comes to survival giving their rich environments. It is for this soul purpose I choose a polar bear over a grizzly bear.
Posted by Rumu on 01-08-2018
The polar bear is one beast that is amazing and amusing. It’s white coat makes it look cuddly. And even if it has a thick coat of hair, I still wonder how it can live in the very cold place that is covered by ice. The grizzly bear is another amazing animal but it is in the forest and comes out during summer time. From what I had read, the grizzly bear hibernates during the cold season hence it is only risky in the forest during the summer when the grizzly are out foraging for food. These beasts are worth preserving so I hope hunters would stop killing them.
Posted by Corzhens on 01-08-2018
I have never seen a polar bear for real that's because I have never visited the places where polar bear resides. However, grizzly bears are abundant in my place. My home is near a jungle where there are many grizzly bears. Sometimes there is even a confrontation of bear and humans. I know a person who was attacked by a grizzly bear. Thankfully, people came to rescuse him soon. grizzly bears can be really dangerous.
Posted by vinaya on 01-10-2018
I like polar bears more than grizzly bears. Personally, I believe they represent purity, hard work and perseverance. It can be the most difficult way to live in a cold place, a winter one. Food is not that abundant and the cold can be very unfriendly as ever. Polar bears are more hardworking in hunting for food. They just don't go to the river and wait for the salmons to jump.

We don't have polar bears here. However, compared to grizzly bears, polar bears are cute maybe because of their color. Polar bears white coat and grizzly bears have black or brown colors. I live in a farm and I have seen grizzly bears for real. I have seen polar bears only on TV.

I choose polar bear to be my spirit animal. It's represents strength, beauty and perseverance. Surviving in such a harsh environment is enough to breakdown most of us whereas the polar bear rules the terrain. Bring well over half a ton, how many land animals do you know which can hunt down a whale. Humans are the only threat to this majestic animal. We should really be serious about conserving such a wonderful creature.

I honestly couldn’t pick one over the other - as to me all bears - regardless of their fur color, diet or where they live - are not just way beyond cute - but truly amazing magnificent creatures - that not only deserve a huge amount of respect but protection too - especially as all are fast becoming an endangered species.

Both are bears they are just different colours and live in different areas. Both types are lovely creatures of this planet. Huge but wonderful. They are truly amazing animals that I always love to watch documentaries about. Although bears can be dangerous, when left alone they are very placid and gentle creatures. I love their huge size because it makes them seem quite majestic. The fact that they are not domestic makes them mysterious and interesting.

I have seen grizzly bears in zoo and they seem to be common animals. But on the other hand polar bears are something special to look at. Their physique is unique and the way they hunt down fish in the middle of ice is quite tremendous to watch. Their cold bearing capabilities are unmatched to any other animal of their size.
Posted by muaaz.93 on 01-18-2018
I like grizzly more but both bears have many things in common. Grizzly hunt fish in water as well especially salmon. Grizzly bears help distribute seeds and nutrition. I like grizzly because they usually have brown color, and that is my favorite color. Grizzly also consume a lot of food.
Posted by OlaSidiq on 01-21-2018
I love polar bears not because their white and the cubs are really cute but because they can survive in below zero temperatures in the most hostile environment there is. Sadly in the past decade polar bear numbers are on the decline reason is the effect of global warming on their food source and habitat.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 01-29-2018
Polar bears are white and dangerous at the same time more than grizzly bear, menh I stick to brown since white is even worst lol, I am just being silly. But honestly I love the grizzly bear I don't know if it's due to sentiments or nah, grizzly is much fair than polar, that don't mean they both safe, I will be friends with any of them only in the zoo.
Posted by Adesuwa08 on 01-29-2018
It's really sad that the polar bear population is in the decrease, it's because of the changing environment in the Arctic region due to global warming and climate change.

Polar Bears are my favorite breed of bears because they're so white and they blend in the Arctic snow perfectly, they are great hunters and can smell prey miles away.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 04-08-2018
I definitely like the polar bear because it is very rare to see, you must need to go to cold places just to witness such kind of animals. I like the color of it which is the white which really implies that it is best suit on cold and winter seasons place. It can survived for a longer period of time compare to any wild animals in the jungle. I just feel sad because every year they keep on declining on their numbers due to climate change and mankind abuses. I just hope that they will be protected and be preserved so that the next generation can still witness such great animals.

I never knew that polar bears were so aggressive - that's really interesting that you're in trouble if you see one in the wild.

I think because they're usually portrayed as cute and friendly that you never really think about their temperament. Honestly, I'd be freaking out though if I saw any bear in a wild situation - whether they were friendly or not! Where I live, black bears are relatively common, but thankfully I've never experienced one personally!
Posted by amelia88 on 05-04-2018
I think some animals are naturally aggressive. As much as we want to see them as friendly and approachable, it's just not the case. We're used to seeing them depicted as nice in animations and stories. So much that we forget how truly menacing they can be if ever we were to encounter one in the wild.
Posted by Steve5 on 05-24-2018
I agree with you. Maybe, it's because they are left isolated in polar regions that's why we see them neutrally dealing with their own kind. But, I guess, If they see humans like us, they would have to sense to protect themselves, thus they become aggressive.
Posted by theresajane on 11-29-2018
Polar bears are very cute so i would picked polar bear over grizzly bear. Their white colores skin makes them look so nice. Even though they are both dangerous. I like bears on snow than bears in forest.
Posted by Anonymous on 06-05-2018
I would prefer Polar bears over grizzly bear because of the fact that they are in extinction. They should be taken care of the government. Animals like this one is one of a kind and should be rescued.
Posted by bienn05 on 06-05-2018
I really like polar bears than brown bears because their white and their color blends in the snow. Although it seems that their going to be extinct sometime in the next 50 years because of the melting arctic ice.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 06-25-2018
The polar bear looks good in the eyes right? Feels like we want to hold and cuddle with them. He he.
Posted by MomoStarr16 on 07-02-2018
I think I generally prefer grizzly bears because they're just more cuddly than polar bears. Don't get me wrong, I realize that a grizzly will maul you within seconds and there's nothing you can do about it, but one can't deny that they have that adorable teddy bear look to them. Polar bears are just straight up killing machines and they aren't even that cute. You have somewhat of a chance with a grizzly, because if it doesn't feel threatened it'll just go away. A polar bear, on the other hand, will maul you whether it feels threatened or not. They're just straight up mean.
Posted by Denis_P on 06-28-2018
The white polar bear looks so cute and makes you feel you are safer with them. Unlike the brown one that really looks he can eat you up. But in the end both of them will tear our flesh out. Hahaha
Posted by MomoStarr16 on 07-02-2018
I agree that the white polar bear looks cute and even cuddly. But you have to agree that it is a dangerous beast that can kill people. The bears in circus were fully trained but sometimes they go berserk as to hurt people. But I also like the polar bear for its color that makes it look clean. The grizzly that is brown is real scary even at the first glance.
Posted by Corzhens on 07-14-2018
Both of them are endangered and essential to our ecosystem. But i think Polar bears need more attention nowadays because their habitat is at risk. We all know that ice caps are rapidly melting and polar bears are one of the species that are suffering from habitat depletion.
Posted by fishbate on 07-25-2018
I fear both of them even though I actually live very far away from the United states.

If I were to have a pet however I would take the fiercest of them which is the polar one.
Posted by Martin on 08-05-2018
When it come to look then Polar bear would be the choice, they're white color are more attractive than the grizzly bear . If it's about Strength I think grizzly bear are tougher. So the two are tie if I'm going to rate, they have there own advantage.
Posted by blackmist on 08-06-2018
There's just something about Polar bears that would want you to choose them. I guess, it's because of the coolness that it brings. But, both are dangerous.
Posted by theresajane on 11-29-2018
I'm going with the polar bear, I just think they look so beautiful with the white fur and they are so cute when the are just cubs. They are also even cooler since they can survive harsh and really cold environmrnt.
Posted by neillios on 08-10-2018
If I had to choose a pet it definetely be the polar bear. The griezly bears look scary and fierce. I do not know what I would do with such an animal as its site alone scares me.
Posted by Martin on 08-16-2018
For me, polar bears are much more strong. However, as a pet, I would prefer a polar bear. Their white color is beautiful!
Posted by mcnasci24 on 11-25-2018
If I'm gonna pick base on looks I Would go with polar bear. That pure white color look so stunning. I would go with Grizzly bear it we are talking about who is tougher. In my opinion Grizzly bear are stronger. The two has their own unique characteristics so it's a tie for me now.
Posted by blackmist on 08-21-2018
Both bears are really scary and really envious because of their strength and power in finding food. If I may choose between the two bears, I would prefer the Polar Bears because aside from its white fur which I find lovely, I also admire how they manage to live and survive each day in a very cold place.
Posted by NesMarcos on 08-21-2018
Hahaha. I like your reasoning its more like you put it that the author of the post wanted to know which of the two bears we would rather be the prey to. Of course that is such a difficult and complicated choice.
Posted by Martin on 08-27-2018
They might be beautiful animals but I would never dream of seeing them in person. Seeing them in just pictures make me really scared. They look so dangerous and very strong. Polar bears can grow faster and they are the animals that hunt humans.
Posted by superlicca on 08-25-2018
I pretty much agree with you. Infact if I was ever offered any of the animals as pets I would never accept. There is no pont in taking an animal that will be an enemy later on.
Posted by Martin on 09-01-2018
I like them both but I prefer Polar Bears. I am always attracted by their white colors. I also feel pity for them since there were only few left of their kinds. They are endangered and I'm hoping they can be saved and still exist in the coming generations.
Posted by timothyP on 09-04-2018
Just by watching videos online of two bears scares me. They are large beast and have sharp claws. I know they will attack if being provoke but somehow their own size is the main reason we have to stay out of their way.
Posted by Aeolos on 09-07-2018
I love polar bears more than grizzlies. The reason is, I have always watched documentaries about how beautiful and amazing polar bears are. They are survivors, and often have to battle the odds to live and care for their young. On the other hand, grizzly bears have always been portrayed as vicious and ready to attack. It also doesn't take much to tell that polar bears look cuter and more appealing than grizzlies. So that is why I love polar bears more than grizzly bears. I actually think that teddy bears should be made to resemble polar bears.
Posted by Cyrus_w on 09-11-2018
We really don't have bears here in our country and I only get to see them in tv and documentaries but when I was a kid I love teddy bears and I had several brown teddy bears that I always hug when I was sleeping. But now I like white polar bears because they're ferocious and bigger than brown bears.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 09-16-2018
I would choose the polar bear because like the polar bear, I will rather be alone than with someone that I do not like.
Posted by jayjaydimson on 09-19-2018
That is a funny remark. You have a point, though, we don't want to be with people whom we don't like. But, polar bears are extremely dangerous and the moment we step into their territories, we don't what happens next. However, it would be lovely to see a polar bear in person, yes.
Posted by theresajane on 11-05-2018
Polar bears are hazardous in the meantime more than wild bear, menh I stick to dark colored since white is even most exceedingly bad lol, I am simply being senseless. However genuinely I cherish the wild bear I don't know whether it's because of slants.
Posted by jetselle on 10-06-2018
I'll go with polar bear because they are white and they love their calves so much that they won't let it become hungry.
Posted by jayjaydimson on 10-08-2018
Do wild bear don't love their babies? How do you know that? Haha. I thought all the animals love there babies. But if that's true, polar bear will be one of my vote too.
Posted by MomoStarr16 on 10-11-2018
A polar bear is large and muscular due to an almost strictly carnivorous diet and a need to hunt, expending much energy. Grizzlies are large but are fatter, having a bit less muscle. They are rather lazy, when calm. Unlike the polar bear, who travels alot?. The only one who can beat them both concerning cuteness is the Teddy Bear. LOL!
Posted by NerdIndeed on 10-08-2018
Basing on your comment it seems that a polar bear would have an edge over the grizzly bear in a fight. I know that both animals live miles and miles apart but has there ever been a recording of a fight between the two? I won't put the Teddy Bear in the same sentence as those two, Teddy Bears have domesticated and mostly tolerated humans that somehow keep on hugging them.

Both are majestic animals that we want to keep on earth and may they never become extinct like other animals. When I was a child, I thought bears were gentle animals that I can turn into a pet if I ever encounter one. Well, that was a childish assumption and we know that bears are ferocious and fearsome animals that we'd rather not encounter face to face or it could be our doom. It's chilling how the white, gentle-looking polar bear can be a murderous animal that will hunt you once it sees you. I am more fascinated with polar bears because they're more elusive than the grizzly bear but I am awed by the grizzly bear because of its huge size and menacing look.
Posted by chatbox on 10-17-2018
Both animals are wild animals and are dangerous to human, however when it comes to cuteness I choose polar bear because I love how their fur looks really fluffy.
Posted by nrnlss on 10-29-2018
I prefer the polar bear. I like to see them in white fur. I am also amazed on how they can survive the icy climate. I thinks its because of their very thick white fur.
Posted by menchuuy58 on 11-03-2018
Have to say, I don't know too much about bears, but my gut instinct is telling me that a polar bear would dunk on a grizzly in a fight. Polar bears are the largest, and while it would be a pretty even fight I think the polar bears would come out on top. Grizzlys are still terrifying though.
Posted by slugsinthai on 11-06-2018
I agree! Have you seen the size and strength of polar bears? They are huge. Grizzlies might be big, but polar bears are more ferocious.
Posted by mcnasci24 on 11-25-2018
I think a Polar bear would be more lethal in a fight against a Grizzly. Polar bears have to face an indomitable weather, low food sources, and other predators. Plus, they are experts in hiding in plain sight with camouflage and are great in stealth. Grizzlies are accustomed to dominating their surroundings, so they aren't so prepared for a fight.
Posted by mcnasci24 on 11-11-2018
I have never seen bears in my entire life and I know that they are aggresive and have great possibility to it me but I've seen on a news that there's this family that have bear as their pet and it looks very cute and sweet. I just don't know what type of bear it is. I think not all bears will hurt humans maybe it depends on the environment they have and on how they were raised and treated. I also wish to befriend with a bear, I want to hug him/her.
Posted by agbuyarashel on 11-21-2018
Both are very beautiful and majestic species. But I have heard about a lot of attacks on people from grizzly bears. They are really aggressive during their mating season and its better to avoid visiting them at that time. Polar bears on the other hand are a bit calmer and are a lot more attractive. It is sad to hear that they are on the verge of extinction and we still aren't doing anything from our end to conserve the environment and protect the species. Also, bears are being hunted down for their fur which needs to stop and once strict hunting laws from the government will bring an end to all this.
Posted by kaushikangara on 11-21-2018
In the battle of cuteness I must say that it would be Polar bear. But if we are talking about toughness I think that grizzly bears are more dominant. Because grizzly bears lives in the wild surrounded by more dangerous animal. They are use to fight for their life and territory. While on the other hand polar bears are also dominant but in lesser kind of animals.

I think Polar bears doesn't need to fight the cold. Their body and fur is designed for living in a cold climate. They could also swim which means they have already adopted to the place and doesn't care if the water is cold. Because if not, they wouldn't dare to go into the cold icy water. I think polar bear's white fur is just a result of evolution through time and climate change. Some studies said that their DNA is the same as the brown bears during the ice ages.

God's creations are really wonderful and amazing. Such creatures such as these bears should be protected. I didn't encounter these animals since they don't live in my country but I hope to see one someday. It is my dream to see every animal that God has created.

I would prefer the polar bear. They are cool to look at in their white colored fur. It is just in pictures or videos that I can see them

Grizzly Bear vs Polar Bear: I didn't see both of this kind of bear in my entire life but what is really on my mind, i really want to see the Polar Bear one maybe because i always hear it anytime it is always present in book story in my childhood times even un a drawing book. And every time a see a teddy bear stuff whats in my mind sink in is the polar bear. Hope to see this creature even once, i know it is impossible to be near with and take a photo while hugging with it, i am still dream to try this once.

I love both of them. I haven't seen one of them yet but they sure are fluffy. I would love to hug them but I know it is impossible.
Posted by luv2xacosta on 12-13-2018
I definitely prefer polar bears. Mostly just because they look magnificent and have a fearsome reputation.

I do like grizzly bears too but that is more due to the fact that they are cute and fluffy. However, I would not try to hug them in real life as I know they can be very deadly too!
