Has anyone used pet diapers?
Has anyone had any experience with pet diapers? One of our older cats is having a hard time using the litter box. He has always had issues with his bladder. He has had a few infections, and last year had to have surgery to remove some stones. My husband and I clean up at least one area of pee each day. It is aggravating us, yet we realize he is doing it because he has issues. I would like to start him on diapers as I do not want him peeing all over. However, I do not want to be cleaning up his bottom when he poops.

Can anyone offer any advise about using pet diapers or what you have done in this case?

I don't think you need to clean up the pet's butt, since it should just be big enough that the fecal matter would just drop unto it and leave space. We have used that for a few times and the problem was... the diaper falling on the ground. probably got heavy or it was not enough to hold.

I used it for my dog. Honestly it's so expensive! So I opted for a baby's diaper and just snipped a hole for her tail. I only used it for her when I took her to the vet for her shots. She didn't use it regularly. But yeah pet diapers are more expensive than baby's diapers.

Yes of course especially when my pet have to go with us in malls and any other places. Sm malls don't allowed pets inside malls except if the pet has diapers on it. Whenever we bring our pet to malls, we usually put diapers on him.

I never used pet diapers in my dog because it seems that he is not comfortble with it. Everytime he pop he will go outside far from our house it is okay because we live in province, theres a big lot space anywhere he can do that and hebknow how to cover it also.

I agree with you point here. Using diapers would make your pet feel uncomfortable and out of normal. He will act strangely and do something odd. They cannot express their feeling as freely as humans do so putting them in diapers is like taking away a part of their freedom.

Nope I haven't used them on my dogs because my dogs are big boys already. One thing that I can say is I would put those pet diapers on my best friend's pug. It would look so adorable and funny on him.

Nope never use one my pet. I tried one time but it seems that she is not use to it so she bite it until it totally fell off from her.

When my in-laws dog was really old and sick they did, since their dog didn't realize anymore when it needed to go outside to poop or pee. I think when that's the case it's okay to use pet diapers.

No, I don't use it. It's better to just leave him as he is. Plus, pet diapers are expensive. I also don't want him to feel uncomfortable.

I don't even know pet diapers exist. I don't think it's comfortable either, pets don't even like wearing clothes. I guess we should just stick to cleaning up their bottoms everyday or many times a day until someone comes up with a better alternative than pet diapers.

I was offered some pet diapers by our vet. It was actually a giveaway by the manufacturer. But when I used it on my dog, I have noticed that it was uneasy and restless. I have been seeing dogs with diapers and they seem to be fine. But since my dog wouldn’t be comfortable so I am not using the pet diaper. I would rather clean up after my dog instead of putting it into an inconvenience situation.

I never used a pet diaper before because I am not bringing my pets with me at the mall. But if ever that I could get an idea of bringing them with me, maybe I'll consider on using pet diapers since it is required in the malls.

Well, haven't used pet diapers but hygienic pads while periods. Our little poodle girl was always doing mess during those days, so we decided to use the pad/panties and it turned out better than the expected. At first, she tried to get rid of it, but eventually she got used to it. We took it off whenever we brought her out to do numbers 1 and 2, and put them back inside the house. Certainly that was a good choice, we could control the mess, and it was easier to keep her clean.

There are types of underwear you can buy that are for pets specifically who need diapers to wear for issues that arise just like this. I’ve had friends who needed them for their dogs who used them with much success and they make them for cats too, you just need to buy regular diapers (underwear comes with hole for tail and holds diaper) and cut a hole in the diapers for the tail. I hope that made sense:-)

I never used a pet diaper or any diaper for my pet. We have a dog and we took care of him so much for he is the first and only dog we have. We take care of him the traditional way. We also don't have the luxury to spend on expensive things for him. What's most important for us is that he is happy and he eats enough.
