It is great having a garden

This is the first year that we have had a garden. I thought that it would be a lot of work, and it was. But it was so rewarding. We planted corn, beans, cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, pumpkins and squash. The cherry tomatoes were amazing. I would often eat some of those with my breakfast.

The corn did not do so well but that is ok, we will learn from our mistakes and get it right next year.

The beans.....OMG. They were amazing. We picked beans about 8 or 9 times and had them with meals. They were so good I could just eat a whole plate of beans for supper.

And our pumpkins will decorate our front yard this year for Halloween.

All in all our garden was a success. We ate great and had fun doing it. Plus it was rewarding to see new things grow. And refreshing to taste things that we planted from seeds.

healing

I think it's very healing to have a garden. If at all possible, I think everyone should participate in a garden. If you live in a city, I would seek out an urban community garden to participate in. It's very rewarding to participate in growing your own food. There is something healing about being in a garden, too. There is evidence that microbes in the soil help fight depression.

It's nice to look at

I'm definitely into having a garden. We have a sort of mini garden in front of our house. It's nice to wake up in the morning and look at the flowers through my window. It gives me a calm and relaxing feeling every time.

Of course, there are downsides. You'd have to care for the plants if you don't have a caretaker. And the plants could be breeding grounds for bugs and unwanted insects which could then enter your course.

Still, despite these cons, having a garden is worth it.

Having a garden

I love gardens and thank God I have the possibility of having a garden in my house. I think gardens are fundamental to make the house more beautiful and in my opinion also serve as an anti-stress tool. I particularly like to water the plants early in the morning and see this activity as something healthy for my mind.

Having a Garden Is Great!

I grew up with a grandfather who always kept a garden and who helped me to learn about planting and harvesting my own food. I think that he actually viewed gardening as a spiritual undertaking, and it was a big part of his life for as long as I knew him when he passed in my thirties. He felt that being close to your land and eating the food that you made from your own hard work was a very rewarding and wonderful experience. I too agree with him, and as soon as I own my own house and land, I am going to start planting a garden myself.

Plantation is great for humanity not just hobby.

If we've lived a fast-paced life or currently still do, gardening will seem slow, boring, meaningless. But if you had a passion for it even in your teenage then it is something of a blessing and great to do. You might think that you are killing time but you're putting a plant that would give someone oxygen, fruit or shade one day.

Having one

I love flowers, and I love the idea of having a little orchard. At the moment I don't have the chance of having these but I would love to do so in the future, take care of flowers and grow some veggies is an activity that I would love to do. Even though you can't have a proper garden getting little plants can make the places more cozy or homely.

A form of relaxation.

If you have a garden in the house, it has many uses for you. It can be a hobby of yours and make yourself relaxed for a bit. It is good for the environment and you can grasp fresh air because of this. Also you can plant anything you want here and maybe you can use it in future.

garden is good

Most people get so lost in the fun of gardening that they forget that it is an inherent form of exercise. The tasks involved in gardening, such as composting, digging, and shoveling, are quite physically involved, and are great ways of losing weight and improving your general health. It is better to have garden you can plant any you want it can be your hobby and relaxation at the same time. We also have small garden and my mother always plants different seeds like tomatoes, egg plant, string beans, chili, bell pepper and many edible other plants. It is nice to have garden even it is small, at least you can harvest it and you don’t have to pay anything and you don’t need to buy in supermarket.

Green

I love having a beautiful garden with lots of fruits, vegetables, spices and flowers on it where you don't need to purchase anything since they're one pick away. You can save lots of money since you can produce it and it's all freshly picked. It's wise and eco-friendly to have a garden of your own as they can also produce oxygen, from the carbon dioxide that you exhale. Every house should require having at least a garden to help the environment produce and cleans the air.

Garden

Having a garden is really a great think. I grew up in my grandparents house and they have this big garden which I played in when I was a little kid. Its also airy in the garden with all the different plants and trees. Also what's good with gardens is that you can plant fruit bearing trees and different vegetables in it. And when the time for harvest comes, you'll get a lot of free veggies and fruits.

Not having a garden

Not having a garden
Usually there are no gardens if you have an apartment, some houses don't have gardens either. You may have a balcony or a terrace or no private outside place at all.

Pros
  • You're not responsible for taking care of a garden
  • Cheaper
  • Takes less time

Cons
  • You can't invite your friends for a private party outside
  • The space you have might be too small
  • You have to go to public parks to spend time outside

Just plain Grass for me

I've seen the amount of work you need to put in to have a successful garden with healthy plants and everything. You need to have the time for such daily actions and you also need to see it as a hobby, in other words: You need to love gardening!

My parents had a garden for years and the amount of work they put in each summer into that garden was tyrannical.

So I say Thanks, but No thanks. I do have a yard with plain grass that I mow once a week. I also have a few trees that I need to take care of each spring. But that's about it! No plants, no vegetables, no flowers!

Not compatible with transience

Maintaining a garden takes time, effort, and the ability to stay at or return to one place for a regular period. It's something I've mulled over from time to time, especially as a child, but I'm still only a college student who lives in apartments and have not really planted my seeds as a person. I can't even consider the idea of starting a garden in good conscience without having some permanence in my living and financial situation. As for being closer to nature, the benefits of being in nature, or similar sentiments - I do not need a garden to do so, and there's a lot of natural wild areas that can be much more impressive and relaxing than a well-manicured garden.

Unfortunately not.

I admit that I don't have the patience to have a garden in my house (haha!), but my parents have one and I help them whenever I can. In fact, everything that I learned about gardening was taught by them.

It's nice but, it's not my kind of thing.

I'd like to but no thanks

I like gardens, I think my mom would be thrilled if she'd had a bigger one. But I don't think that's my thing. One of my aunts has a really big and really beautiful garden, but she dedicates a lot of her time to it, and I don't see myself doing that, maybe in my retirement years, but not right now.

Not my thing

Although I grew up walking and tending to gardens, because my parents and grand parents do have one, and it's really useful and beneficial, the benefits clearly outweighs the disadvantages, but it's not actually my thing. I prefer employing someone to tend to the gardens, than working on them, it irritates me seriously.

I think having a garden is awesome. You can grow your own organic food without paying a premium for it. This is one of the reasons why having a garden is good. Make sure that you have the choices you need with a garden. It can be one of the options you may be looking for when you choose to have an organic garden of your own It is just an awesome idea and one that you may need.

Having a garden is one of the best things someone related to nature should dream about. I mean it is one of the things that can help connect one to the true act of nature. We have a garden in our place and it has been a great thing to see for we always have access to some of the vegetables we use for cooking from our garden. I am planning to growing some flowers in our garden as well to make it look beautiful.

Having a garden does not come cheap, but it is a great thing and will make you feel better. I'm not voting on this one because it depends on a lot of factors, if you have a big enough yard and money then you can have your own garden. If you don't, it is difficult to maintain unless you save money by making your own groceries. Growing plants and buying new ones is something hard to maintain, mowing the lawn is something that will take a lot of time.

I would prefer to have a garden of mostly edible plants that can help me save on grocery and allow me to eat organic foods. Considering the benefits of growing your own food, maintenance is not a big issue. You can also propagate plants out of your existing plants. Living in smaller abodes like apartments is also not an excuse not to have your own garden as you can have plants in pots or boxes.

Who wouldn't want to have a garden? Definitely it's not me because I am a lover of gardens especially ones with lots of fruits and vegetables. And also, if it's possible to have some good flowers grown in my garden, I would really encourage such ideas. Gardens are good to have, it even serves good in the production of food if you take good care of your crops in it.

For someone like me i think it might be better not to have a garden at all. This is because i will not have the time to be able to take care of it properly because of my job.

I don't really have knowledge or passion regarding plants or trees so I prefer to not have one at all. Although my girlfriend who was a daughter of a farmer knows a lot especially on choosing which crops or fruits we should buy whenever we are on the public market to buy some ingredients for our meal. I don't suppose though that she prefer having a garden because she went out of their province to look for a more stable job at the city rather than working on their lands with her parents and relatives. Well we might have a garden if we decided to make our own house for our vacation on her province once we are settled on financially sustainable to have our own family.

I have a garden but I am not keen in gardening now. The problem is the stray cats had been using my garden plot as their "public toilets" that keeps me off the idea of planting anything edicle or to smell. The stench of the cat poop is horrible. Each day, I could find 3 poops at different spots. I had tried using sprinkler, cat repellent, cayenne powder on the grass and shoo the stray cats but in vain. I should had remove the grass and cemented them instead. So, I vote for no garden. No cat poops

No one can go wrong with having a little garden filled with different kind of fresh vegetables, tomatoes, and pepper. In fact, it really to the good health of the family. Most especially if it has been done the organic way without any chemical added it to.I just love the freshness of the different vegetables I get to garnish my food at whenever I need it. Unfortunately, I don't sell my vegetables though others do I like to have fresh vegetables all year round that's I have my little garden.

I think if we can't get closer to the nature. Then we have to adjust with the garden. And we have to work with our own settings in such case. You can see that having a garden definitely helps in many ways. And if you take steps in the right direction. You can see that garden is something people often don't pay attention to. And this is something that can change their mood. You can see that way it's better to have a garden.

My husband is a weekend farmer. I would say that he is a gardener by heart because he treat plants like animals. When a plant dies, he becomes sad and if there are flowers in the trees then he gets excited. A garden is one great way of relieving yourself of stress. I can see that in my husband. Even if he gets tired in weeding and tending the garden, I can see the joy in his face and in his demeanor. I also love gardens but I don't really do gardening except helping sometimes. Especially when there are fruits to be harvested, that's very enjoyable to me.

I have lived in the city as well as in the country side and I always had a garden in my house. In the city, I did not have a lot of gardening space, therefore, I planted plants and flowers in pots and vases. However, in the countryside, I have a lot of ground area and I plant various kinds of seasonal and perennial flowers.

Flowers and greenery are loved my most of us. There is nothing more blissful than a well maintained garden. But, this requires a lot of time, money, open space and efforts. Any person who has access to all these 4 things can opt for a good garden in his courtyard.

Sadly, I lack needed open space. Though I have some good flower pots but still when it comes to green grass and trees, I really miss them in front of my house.

Especially in big cities, where green gives way more and more space to concrete, having a garden of any size takes up contact with nature - which, as we have already told you, is so important!

Dedication and daily care bring deep well-being, as well as softening the nooks and crannies of the whole house. The garden is also a natural humidifier, which helps a lot in drier times.

In cities here, the so called vertical garden is getting popular. The plants are in plastic pots that are placed on a sort of pedestal that looks like a grandstand. In a small space, the grandstand pedestal can hold so many plastic pots that it will look like a real garden from afar. But take note that the plants are real and you have to take care of it. In some avenues and boulevards, there are vertical gardens maintained by the city government. They give life to the boring cityscape.
