Hearthstone it's one of the most popular collectible online card videogames in the actual industry, recognized to be the pioneer on this format it offers a colorful and enjoyable experience with dozens of cards and hundreds of deck building possibilities based on the Warcraft universe.

  • Easy to learn, easy to play.
  • Colorful and cartoonish humor.
  • Less than 10 minutes average per game.
  • Mobile app.
  • Free to play.

  • Some card mechanics are executed randomly.
  • If you screw a single movement you're pretty much done for that single game.
  • A couple of bugs and glitches in both UI's (Computer and mobile app)

Obvious winner!

My vote goes to Hearthstone. I have to admit that I've never heard about Duelyst or played it so it is an obvious choice for me. Hearthstone is an extremely popular card game for a reason. It is top quality. Blizzard always knows what makes certain games great and that's why they always make hits.

I love how fast and dynamic matches can be - they don't take two hours to finish. I also love all of the different characters taken from World of Warcraft or their other games. I also really enjoy the Arena mode that they have. It is really fun and it is challenging to see how many win streaks you can get with a random pack of cards.

So yes, an amazing card game - very fun but it also has a challenging and competitive side to it. I really enjoy playing Hearthstone. The fact that you can also play it on your phone is just the cherry on the top.

I would go with Hearthstone. It is a pretty popular game that is the second featured game on twitch and even holds live competitions with many professional players. Also if you were to go and talk to someone about this game they are more likely to recognize it or have played it due to its high popularity. In addition, I don't think a not well-known game such as Duelyst could come as close as to touch Hearthstone when it comes to recognition as well as to popularity.

Whats Duelyst?

Hearthstone is basically the one and only online card game that's relevant. It's one of the most played video games flat out, so that's saying something about the quality of the game. I can't compare it to Duelyst though since I don't even know what that card game is about but I doubt it's better than Hearthstone.

I love Hearthstone. It's one of the best games that came in the last few years. I really enjoy playing it and the duelist doesn't seems so interesting for me.

Hearthstone gets the cake

Ok, Hearthstone is addictive and it's funny, Duelyst is just so dull for me, I can't play more than 3 games with it, Hearthstone wins for so much in this one.

The most promising and recent bet in the collectible online card videogame industry with a chess like board strategy mechanics. Duelyst it's known for 2 things and those are pixel type virtual figurines representing the cards and the fact that you actually need to move them around a squared arena to win the game.

  • Pixelized miniatures that improve the visual experience.
  • Extended lore about the game factions.
  • Well made background music.
  • Grand variety of board strategy gameplay.
  • Free to play.

  • Lack of original card mechanics.
  • The multiple visual effects often makes the rendering too slow.
  • The board strategic mechanics can be difficult for casual players.

More Depth, Less RNG, Less P2W = More Fun

Much less pay to win: Hearstone forces a new card set down your throat, causing your old cards to become borderline obsolete. Duelyst gets new and strong cards, but old cards are always still viable. Duelyst is also very generous with giving you legendaries and for once, the legendaries also give you a lot of "dust" to create your own deck.

Much less RNGesus: Duelyst allows you switch one card of your hand with a new one out of your deck, furthermroe you have less RNG mechanics in the game, resulting in a more planned out battle.

Much more tactic: Duelyst gives you a board to move in. You can body block the enemy with your minions, you can split them from the fight to create 2 high valuable targets the enemy needs to focus on and many more things. Heartsone gives you maybe 2-3 options at most.

More Diversity: Heartstone has Metadecks and everyone copies them, at Duelyst you can't tell from turn 3 already what the oppent will have for cards in his deck. You simply don't get bored by teh same decks over and over.

To sum it up, Heartstone is a shallow game. A game which is plagued with RNG and P2W, a game where people simply copy well known decks... metadecks, as other decks are much less viable.

I haven't played Duelyst yet, so I think it would be unfair if I voted for Hearthstone. Hearthstone is one of the best online card game that I've played. Forming your deck for your own strategy is awesome. Online mode and quests are great. It's definitely recommended if you like card games.

Same here. I haven't played Hearthstone as well but I heard that the game has similar lore as Warcraft does. And correct me if I'm wrong, is it a card game? Or it's an actual MMORPG one? Haven't really tried it. Just kept on hearing about it online.

I have never heard of any of these games, however, I am willing to try because they cost no money to play. I find paying for video games is kind of stupid thing. There are a lot of goods ways to put your money. I may try Hearthstone first because it is available as a mobile app.

HS has plenty of potential to become a world fever, as is League Of Legends and so many other free online games. But adjustments still need to be made. I as a human being, I truly believe that there are super-gifted people, people of differentiated intellect standing out from normal humans. When you refer that there are people coming in high positions with the basics of the basics I answer that yes, it is possible. But are not they people of a different view? I'm sorry, but I can even try to win, to elaborate my next move, but there will always be someone who is a genius, someone who in certain aspects is superior to you or me, and that makes a difference. I therefore consider these isolated cases as exceptions to the rule. For a game like HS, the correct thing is there are rules that level the possibilities for EVERYONE, not just a niche. Not too normal too, several players hit the same key. Warning signal to Blizzard and that the suggestions of the players can be heard at some point and, if possible, a filter is made on what to enjoy to improve the HS, which is undoubtedly a good game, but still sin in some ways.

It looks like I am being tempted to download game apps because the mere description that the game apps described above are free to download, that’s already a big motivation for players. Fortunately, I am not really a game player and I scrutinize the app before I download it because there are apps that can harm the mobile phone. And I am quite satisfied with Candy Crush for now so I don’t exactly need another gaming app.
