We celebrate Christmas Eve by enjoying special dishes with the whole family, exchanging gifts, and most importantly singing karaoke! We all look forward to these activities but we always see to it that the real meaning of Christmas, which is the birth of Jesus Christ, is not forgotten.

Same with us too. We celebrate Christmas by greeting each other, giving presents and opening them altogether, and eating delicious Noche Buena food together in the dining room. I'm so excited for Christmas!

At the stroke of Midnight we would all shout Merry Christmas and next would be the distribution of gifts. Then I'll watch some TV while drinking some wine or will go out and greet the neighbors.

Our biggest celebration begins at Midnight too. Sometimes we exchange gifts, and some others we don't. We like to share some drinks and have dinner, and obviously we have to greet the neighbors, otherwise my mom gets mad at us. It's a tradition to visit the Nativity recreations from other homes.

Our Staple Christmas Eve Dishes include a Leg of Chinese Ham, Embotido (it's like a homemade festive meatloaf with whole eggs, chorizos, raisins and a lot more), Pasta Carbobara, a Whole Oven Baked or Grilled Chicken, Chicken Macaroni and Fruit Salad, a Cake, Baguettes and Sodas.

Wow! that's what I call a dinner. We have typical food which is Hallaca, is like a boiled corn base square, filled with a mix of meat, chicken, and pork, and you add species, raisins, olives and veggies. The whole dish includes Ham bread, hen salad, smoked sweet ham, baked pork leg, and hallaca. I know, that's a bomb, but man that's delicious.

Hey that looks like so much fun! We don't have karaoke, but now it looks like a great idea. We do like to exchange gifts and have dinner together, and we also like to listen and dance to some music, but never thought of singing too. Awesome Christmas for sure.

Some people in my country go to church to hold a service that is supposed to stimulate, and recapture the birth of Jesus Christ.

We used to do that, go to church as a family and then gather and celebrate. Unfortunately, my country has become really dangerous, and it's a risk to be out there in the night, fancy dressed, and specially on holidays, so we better say prayers and light candles at home for baby Jesus.

It starts with Christmas eve. There is always a Christmas eve concert where the est Christmas songs are performed by a combination of choirs. It's always glorious abd uplifting. Then comes Christmas with all you can eat lunches and the exchange of Christmas greetings and woshes. This happens not only with family membets, but with every one you meet on that day as well. It's always a fun season.

I could relate to this. This usually happens when members of the family are all grown-ups, and they get to decide where they spend it. Of course, some of them are into romantic relationships already, so they spend it at their girlfriend's house or something similar.

Since I was a child, we never failed to celebrate Christmas eve because that was the time that we children receive the gifts from our parents right after the midnight dinner. While waiting for the event, my brothers would be playing board games while my father would be drinking beer with some friends. At 11 pm everyone will be at home and the festivities would start. Now that I have a family of my own that is also the way we spend Christmas eve in our home.

We celebrate Christmas with a get together dinner of the family. Simple gift giving to family members. Just family being together is the best way to celebrate Christmas. It is also a time to renew some lost friendships. So I make it a tradition that every Christmas I will reconnect with some old friends.

As I write this I'm in the process of planning for Christmas. I consider Christmas a time of joy. I love it. This is a time to spend with family and enjoying yourself. I am in the process of planning where I will go during Christmas, what I will feed m family and what I will do for entertainment. I plan to take two weeks off for Christmas for some needed rest and relaxation. I'm downloading all the movies I intend to watch and all the books that I intend to read. I'm also putting away enough money for entertainment. This is the best time of the year in my opinion because everyone goes into relax mode.

Here in our country, people start planning for Christmas 3 months before December. Most of the children here save money so that during Christmas they go to town buy whatever they wished to have used the money they saved. The houses in our community are normally renovated and even painted. Parents also buy their children new clothes which are mainly worn during the Christmas day.

Our Christmas Eve celebration is usually a simple one. My mom used to prepare hot porridge and chicken sandwiches which we ate after attending the midnight mass. The real big celebration happens during Christmas day at our grandparents' house. Nowadays, we all have our own family and though much have changed, we have kept the Christmas Eve just as simple. I guess this is also one way of emulating the humble birth of Jesus Christ, the real reason for Christmas. The quiet celebration also enables us to focus on prayer and thanksgiving for this special day.

After that, we head to the dining room to enjoy the feast that my mother and I would always prepare every year.

My entire family gets together. We eat way too much good food and have the most amazing desserts. We have a large family, so once we have eaten, we start in on gifts. Everyone has a huge pile to open and we open them up one by one. It is so much fun. The guys will usually play cards while the ladies clean up from the meal. We are not Christian family, so we don't really celebrate Christmas Eve. As I like the meaning behind Christmas, I have always been telling my children the stories about Jesus, Christmas and also Saint Nicholas in December. We also do some decorations and activities for Christmas. Though we don't really celebrate, I think it's a good opportunity for the kids to learn more and have fun together too.

Same here. I am not a Christian, I belong to Hindu culture. I also live in a Hindu neighborhood therefore, there are no activities in my neighborhood during the Christmas. Until recently, the state did not recognize Christmas as an official festival. However, after the new constitution was adopted, Christmas has been recognized as an official festival. There are just about 3 percent Christians in the country.

Over here, Christmas doesn't start and end on 25Th December, it could start on that day and end two to three day after that. But on that 25Th, there's usually a morning church service at our local church, which we attend, and after which there's some kind of feast. This is followed by relaxation, and a formal get together between family members that could last the whole day.

There're events and festivals that usually tale place in the spirit of the season, and they don't all tale place one the 25Th, they strech further, two to three days after.
