How do you stay youthful?
As we get older we lose our playful youthfulness. We stop having fun, we stop playing, we find it hard to relax and calm our thoughts. This leads to more stress which can cause you to age even faster! Being youthful sounds simple enough and can lead to a better life but how many of you actually do anything youthful?

What do you do that makes you youthful?


I play with my kids. Young kids will keep you very young! Here are some of the things we do:

  • Be silly
  • Tickle Fights
  • Laugh
  • Play games and video games
  • Talk about silly things
  • Learn new stuff that you've already learned once but forgotten
  • Jump on the trampoline
  • Race cars
  • Fly drones
And the list can go on and on with young kids! You don't even have to try to be youthful, you are pretty much forced into it. haha

Nice list. :-) Reading it make me want to go out and do some of these things with my daughter although I already do a number of them with her. I'd better not do the trampoline, though... I'd probably end up breaking something!

I'd like to add baking cookies with kids to this list... it's so much fun and you get to lick the beaters without someone yelling about getting sick. The last few generations always did that and I never knew of anyone getting sick from it. :-)

I could not agree with this more. Playing with the family is a great way to stay youthful. Also, just being involved in the community with your kids and SO is incredibly beneficial. Even though staying busy can be exhausting with a full family, it is very rewarding.

I think the best thing to do like you said is to play with kids. As we grow older, we just become much more stressed especially with things like mortgages and work. So the best thing to do is to just relax with your kids. Playing games with them, racing some remote controlled vehicles or just learning some stuff with them can help you to relax a lot. And if you don't have kids, the best thing to stay youthful is to probably just have a bit of fun. Get your friends and go paintballing or go karting. They are so much fun that it can help you to relax so fast.

This is a neat idea. I like that it's simple enough. Anyone can do it. Kids are fun to play with. Though, I wonder what people without kids would do. Maybe they'll just play with their pets. Hahaha!

stress is one of the factors that is making us older pretty fast. If you want to remain youthful, you need to know how to get away from stress. One of the easiest ways to overcome stress is playing with kids. There was a time when I did not like kids, however, when my sister had babies and she came to live with us with her babies, my perception changed. Children can really make you smile.

Yes, playing games can be our way of staying young. Outdoor and indoor activities are both effective. I mostly prefer board games because we get to stay in a comfortable place.

Serve God. Eat good food, ensure you focus on your career, a successful career is bound to keep an individual young. Avoid unnecessary stress, show love to people around you. When you show love to people around you their is a 50% chance it gets back to you. Stay calm , seek advice , that way your bound to avoid ageing factors.

I like that "Serve God" you mention. You are right. Like me, I am 29 but still feel young because I am serving God in a youth ministry. They don't treat me like an adult but still respect me as their older brother. God can give you strength and feeling of being young. Nothing is impossible with Him.

I think there is a difference between being acting youthful (doing things a child would do) and actually being young. For young people, there is an innocence which is lost as age sets in. Children are innocent in how they see the world; they miss the devious nature of humans. They think the best of people even when it's not deserved. Most children are naive. And, it's a beautiful thing.

Grown ups are more cynical than children. And, more likely to see the worst in life or people; to take things wrong; make a snap judgement or take the pessimistic view.

And, I think that's one way that I try to stay youthful is by purposefully seeing the good side of life, not always be negative or looking at the ugly truth, especially about things in my personal life.

There's really no reason to be all negative even if that is the 'realistic' point of view as it just makes a person old fast. My secret to staying youthful is to just sometimes be like a kid, live in a fantasy world and enjoy the feeling of innocence again.

Seriously, I have a big family and a lot of friends, plenty of young kids are always around, just get into their games and play with the and their toys, it's like a breath of fresh air! Getting outside into nature can also help you stay youthful, go camping and have fun once in a while.

I think that it is important to try to remain youthful. I think one of the best ways would be to try to be optimistic and lively about life, while also doing your best to be active. Being a bit silly from time to time, such as playing with kids, tickling and having some free time devoted to anything that makes you feel young and happy, can help you remain youthful regardless of your age.

I make sure to stay active, eat clean, and take care of myself. I also like to do things, like travel, or hang out with friends in the city. Also, I am 24, so I think i am still youthful, correct? I am almost a quarter century old.. so i should start to take even better care of myself so i remain youthful when im half a century old!

There are many definitions of youth from your state-of-mind to your physical appearance. For physical appearance, I drink lots of water, exercise regularly, eat a plant-based diet, and take care of my skin. I don't really believe in a youthful state of mind. I think that as you experience life, you gain wisdom and perspective that drastically differs from the perspective you have as a youth. You can still enjoy life, be adventurous, and have fun but your life experience alters you.

Staying youthful is always achievable if you have a childish side to you. You don't have to be immature to have a childish side it can merely be that you enjoy going out to the park and having fun with your kids on the swings or kicking a ball about to have a childish side. Drinking plenty of water, eating well such as making sure you get your daily 5 a day of fruit and veg will help as well, you can never have enough energy if you don't eat and drink well which can prevent you from going out and letting your childish side run free.

You may actually be referring to the "child-like" nature. Childish is implying a potential tendency to act like a child in negative ways. Like being immature and having constant temper tantrums. Child-like focuses on the positive traits of children. It means having a positive and wondrous look in life. It's the opposite being cynical about the world we live in.

Find the inner child deep inside as we all can be childish at times but sometimes its ok to be childish if its not a serious moment that is. Everyone who enjoys a good laugh and we should do more often. Enjoy life to the full as you never know what is around the corner. Play fight or even pillow fight with friends use more of your imagination as when we was children we had really good imagination try bring that back into the now in your life. Think like a child meaning what would a child do. Go exploring go camping . Above all no matter what happens try be happy and love your self.

That's really nice of you to share. But I think it's better to be child-like instead of childish. Most people forget the difference between the two. Childishness is often about being immature and inconsiderate. Children can actually be mature yet retain their child-like wonder about the world we live in.

I believe the smile to be the most invigorating movement a human can voluntarily control, It has been proven time and again that your mood affects almost all aspects of our lives. By using forums of meditation and using imagination can also help , drinking a lot of water also helps with the mind body and the spirit. Using exercising in your daily routines as well.. Like change routines when you go to local shop try walk to another shop which is further away from the one you normal go . More exercise , drinking water and meditation, Also let your hiar down have a laugh with friends. The more you mix these ups and put them together. There will be a lot of change in your life for the better.

Being youthful is a frame of mind. Most people die inside when they reach 25, mainly because they get too cooped up in the adversities of life, and generally making a living. If a person becomes anchored down on a lifestyle that they didn't choose, but had to conform into (e.g. a job or marriage they feel trapped in out of necessity) that's when the mental aging process begins, slowly becoming more bitter, more cynical and less flexible with anything at all. "Miserable" would sum it up. It's hard to even notice that you're becoming miserable when it comes by slowly enough, but becomes more obvious by how often you hurt other people. It's not something irreversible either. Misery fades when people gain back their will to live, and the one thing that kickstarts this feeling is a taste of freedom. People who make a job out of the thing they love, who fill everyday with a tiny speck of happyness from any source they can get, who face self-sacrifice as a righteous service rather than a violation of their ego, who find love withing themselves before they seek it from other people...these are the people that stay young.

I have legal custody of my 10 year old granddaughter and I can definitely say she keeps me up to date with young people. I do many things I never thought I would do at my time of life, swimming, getting involved with her school and of course I have to keep up with the latest fashions as she is already very fussy about what she wears.

In my spare time I like to do online writing which I think probably keeps my mind sharp. I have amazingly good health which obviously helps and I walk as much as possible to keep fit. I have to admit I'm afraid of becoming old. When you are young you don't give ageing a thought as it seems so far away but now in my sixties I can see it getting very close and it is scary.

Everyone grows old and everyone dies at some point. I see being able to grow old a privilege as there are so many that don't get the chance. Staying youthful is more a state of mind; although the body ages the mind can hopefully stay youthful unless it is affected by a degenerative disease. Grab life with both hands and enjoy every moment and keep that zest for life you had when you were a teenager.

One of the things that I've noticed about youth is openness to change. A lot of the older generations are especially against change, fear it, actively try to prevent it, or just don't like it in general. Trying to embrace a mindset that is able to cope with change, as the world is constantly updating and upgrading with the passing times.

Another thing that others have mentioned is definitely to get involved, enjoy life, and be happy. Explore things and try to do things out of the ordinary, try to get out of a rut that you've been stuck in if that's happened. Try switching it up- go for a tea instead of a daily coffee, or something drastic like quitting your job and moving to a totally different place. Take risks, like you once did as a young adult.

Another thing is definitely your appearance as well. Even though it's superficial, it's an important part of how people initially perceive you. It's never too late to start anti-aging skincare, etc, and some tips are to invest in a quality eye cream (to prevent and help lessen the appearance of eye wrinkles and bags), a great serum and moisturizer to make sure your skin has sufficient hydration. Doing face masks are a relatively inexpensive but great way to keep your face hydrated, you can often find face masks for $2 a sheet, or around $10 or above a tube or tub of face mask product. If money is a problem, natural products that you can find in your kitchen can help too. A bit of olive oil to add shine in your hair, coconut oil to moisturize, honey and egg white masks, yogurt masks, google is your best friend for natural skincare.

Makeup can also be used to give a youthful appearance, light and subtle colors and emphasis of natural features really show beauty in a very elegant way, especially in the older generations. A clear, even-toned complexion can also do wonders.

Hair also plays an important part. I see a lot of the older generations cutting off all their hair and keeping it in a simple, easy to take care of style, but that might not necessarily be the best look. Think Marilyn Monroe, short curly bob cut if you like short hair, and for longer styles, add serums/oil to give it shine and vitality. Pin curls are an excellent, no-fuss method to achieve an overnight, heatless curl/wavy look. Bangs may also drastic change your appearance, try it! Hair color is also crucial, although white/gray looks absolutely beautiful (even more so if you pair your hair with a saturated lipstick) and I would recommend natural hair color over a dyed look. The health of your hair is something to be taken care of, and dying will only worsen the condition of the hair. If you must, add highlights/lowlights, something that can emphasize what you already have. If you want to play around, wigs are the way to go!

At the end of the day, what's on the inside means much more than what's external. I just didn't see any suggestions of external beauty in the posts before, so I might as well mention this. Youth can be found everywhere. Keep laughing and smiling and chasing your dreams, chasing experiences, trying new things. Life has so much to offer!

I am sure most of us know how to live a happy and youthful life but the art of living doesn't come in a branded packing that you can buy from a store. Each of us has to invent their own ways to live a happy and healthy life within their own limitations. Yes, there certainly isn't a set formula that you can apply to everyone in general but you have to see what makes you happy that helps your cause. Isn't it like a person is as young or old as they think they are? It's all about live like a child, think like a adult and work like a professional? Yes, if you know what food keeps you healthy and eat accordingly then you stay younger for a longer time. Finally, if you know how to stay away from stresses then nothing can stop you from living a healthy and happy life.

As you think, so you are.. This phrase resonates so much with this topic because society has thought us that when you reach a certain age , that's it, 'park up shop' , and we tend to see it that way, but its not true. For if we think we are young and act like we are young, for example spending time with children, not taking ourselves to seriously and laughing more, I believe we can reverse our aging. In this fast-paced world, stress is the enemy of our youth. I have a very stressful job and I have come to terms that I wouldn't look young anymore. But my husband who is 8 years my senior looks younger for his age. His lifestyle is to be humorous all the time, eat moderately and not selectively which means he eats anything as long as he likes it unlike health-conscious people who choose their food. Generally, I find my husband happy-go-lucky and very forgiving such that failures and mistakes don't affect him too much. To be honest, I envy my husband but I am stuck with my job and I cannot seem to do anything about the pressures unless I quit which I cannot, obviously.

I think a lot of people forget to have fun. Just because you get older and have more responsibilities doesn't mean you have to stop having any fun. It's a little harder to make time for it sometimes, but it's important to do so.

The old saying, "Laughter is the best medicine," comes to mind. Laughing, singing, dancing, doing whatever makes you have a good time... things that are uplifting are important.

Some of the most youthful people I know aren't that young age-wise. It's a mindset.

This is not to brag but some people tell me that I don’t look my age. Well, it can be attributed to the way of life that I have. I am not really happy-go-lucky but in our home, it is not allowed to be angry or sad. In other words, happiness is the motif in our home that it is all right to laugh out loud but not to cry nor shout angrily. And with the things I enjoy doing, I try to do it like traveling or shopping. So I’d say that you will look young if you enjoy your life.

I believe the secret is in your mind. The body ages, even if it's kept healthy. But a healthy mind never, ever ages. And in its natural healthy state, our mind is quite youthful. It enjoys having fun and dislikes worrying about stuff. So you gotta keep it in good shape. This means having a relaxed attitude towards life in general - stress and anxiety make the mind sick. It also means keeping the mind sharp by constant exercise - reading, writing, having engaging conversations, doing meditation, etc.

I completely agree with you that youth is a state of mind. I think that you can stay youthful and energetic as long as your attitude is good and you have an upbeat spirit. Being in physical good shape is one thing, but being in spiritual and mental good shape is even better, I think, when it comes to preserving a youthful vitality. I have seen and met people who were suffering from ailments but who seemed young due to their aura and their energy. Stress is the killer, to be sure, so if you are aging but happy, you will still be a youthful and vital person.

The thing to do is to have a childlike approach rather than a childish one. If you ever see a child approach something, you will notice that they are inquisitive and innovative because they are free from all hindrances. They older we grow, the more we doubt ourselves and the more exhausted we feel. Being youthful is a feeling that comes from a sense of freedom. Freedom in your thought as well as your action.

The only thing holding one back is their own hindrance and self-doubt. Feel free to act on your most natural instincts rather than intellectualizing everything and feel more youthful.

I am a senior citizen and for me my work is my companion that keeps me young. I have a huge garden that needs my attention and then we have a pet who is a spoilt brat. No doubt I write here and at few other sites. Last but not the least I have a Trust that reaches out to the needy. Each year I throw a party at Christmas time for the less privileged. Getting ready for that event keeps me young and bouncing.

I don't get caught up in real life adult stresses. Times where I feel pressure, I just go back to acting like a teen/adult. I want to progress with age, but truly, I never want to grow up. Adults in their late 20's and 30's don't have fun. I believe because of real life scenarios, that adults become so disconnected with the youth, that by 40 it's like looking at someone foreign. I don't want my future kids to see me as their parent, always laying down the law. I want them to see me as an older brother or best friend they can talk to. Along with exercise, laughing consistently is a thing that lessens over time. Always remember to laugh! It's life natural anti-aging antidote. Staying youthful is also a mindset. If you think and feel youthful, you will stay youthful. So thought also has a lot to do with it as well.

I use Rife frequencies and meditate in Sarah's story in the Bible. This false notion that Sarah "looked" old having a baby at 99 years of age isn't biblical. The fact is God kept her youthful. This far-fetched theory for some is the reason why they are aging today. Of course, there are physical things to do as well such as eating right, collagen proteins, hyaluronic acid creams, waters, etc. These only work for a season though. Youthfulness is a feeling. It is not related to the body. You can remain young through thoughts and not with body. Your body will wither and you will grow old. You cannot control your wrinkles, however, you can remain young in heart and mind. Positive thoughts will keep you young. Creative activities and creative thoughts will make you appear young.

First and foremost, be honest with your feelings. People put up a mask in order to be taken seriously, so to stay youthful, just be your honest, juvenile self. Don't worry about what people think. Just be your true happy self. Play games and laugh at your own mistakes. Join contests, praise winners and learn from mistakes. Challenge yourself and test your limits. Accept your weaknesses and your limits. Read books, and watch old movies since there are much morals values to be learned in the previous decades. Watch the stars and wonder about the universe. You'll never grow old. Continue to learn new things, and no matter how old you are, you will realize that there is still much knowledge to be learned in the world.

Keeping up with the latest trend can somehow keep you being youthful. I am over 35 years old and I still keep up with the latest fad such as fidget spinners and Pokemon Go and that is some way to keep yourself free from stress that can cause aging not only physically but mentally. There is a difference between being childish and staying youthful so as long as you know the difference, you will be fine.

I think the best way for middle-aged or elderly people to stay youthful is to spend quality time with children. If they don't have children or grandchildren of their own, perhaps volunteering at a daycare at church or around town. Interacting with children and seeing their innocence and silliness will make an older person feel much more youthful. It reminds me of that video that went around for awhile of the nursing home that shared a hall with a preschool. The kids would go to visit the nursing home residents and they all just seemed to have such a great time together.

I'm at that age where I'm starting to notice the odd gray hair, a few more fine lines around the eyes and bit more aches and pains when I wake up in the morning. While none of use can stop the aging process, there are a few things I do to help myself feel young.

Exercise! You don't move it, you lose it! Whenever I'm feeling particularly tired or run down after a day I challenge myself to do a quick yoga session or just go out for 15 minute walk to get some fresh air. Just a little bit of movement alone can help you feel refreshed, energized, and not quite so old anymore.

Beauty products. Ok, so we know there's no way around it, we're all going to get those grays and wrinkles, but you can at least try to cover them up. Have you ever had a cut and color and felt instantly lighter and dare I say it, younger? I don't see any shame it putting a little effort into at least slowing the aging process with a few creams and dyes.

Hang around with your nieces, nephews, grandchildren or younger cousins for a bit and their youth will instantly rub off on you. Be uninhibited. Go run around in a park chasing a soccer ball or go find a swing to swing on.

I do not act my age, I am in my 20s but I am at teenager at heart. I try to live a healthy positive lifestyle, I do not get into politics and try to stay away from the news, they just depress me. Also excersise and taking care of your skin to stay youthful.

Yes. It's fun. Doing things which kids find fun may be ridiculous but they are fun. This is with some exceptions such as playing in mud and liking the feel of being dirty and smoking. Though other than that, being youthful, doing sports and playing games is an obvious yes. Older people may hate what youths are doing these days but being in my 20's, you may be like I am still a youth but I go to work and do things normal adults do.

That's true, we are as old as we feel. Youthness is related to mind and not to the body. You might be 50 years, yet might have a hear and mind of 30 years old individual and you might be 20 years old but may have hear and mind of 60 years old. Old age is natural, wrinkles and grey hairs are natural, however, despite these signs of aging, you can still remain youthful.

Meditation is a cure-all for a lot of things including reducing stress, which is a major factor in the aging process. As others have said before, positivity and activity plays a huge role. Exercise every day, no matter what. Take some off days when life is really hard, sure, but keep to a minimum of some physical activity every time you wake up. Otherwise you become physically old much faster which affects you mentally. Being negative and boring is also a big killer. Stay young, do silly things, do dangerous things, just have fun and don't take things too seriously. Don't waste time arguing and complaining about your lack of quality in life when you make no effort to change it. Life is too serious to be taken seriously.

You are as old as you think you are, no matter your age. Try not to get weighed down my life and keep a light outlook and don't take everything so seriously. I don't really do anything to stay youthful because I am still young. I am only in my mid 20's and I have plenty more years to live (or I would like to think so!) People often don't believe my age though and think that I am way younger. I guess I just have a baby face, haha.

But honestly, do not concern yourself with trying to stay youthful. Youthfulness is the way you act, the way you see the world. It is the state of your mind. If you feel young, it will show and people will notice. Focus on fun, relaxing and living the life to the fullest!

If you want to be youthful engage yourself in youths activities, i make myself youthful by playing soccer with youths in my church and we always have a discussion and refreshment time after playing soccer. This discussion time is my favourite time because they will make me laugh with the way they talk and blame themselves of who did well and who did not do well on the field, i always try to talk in the youthful way they will understand when contributing to their discussion.

The key thing to factor in here to stay looking young is to avoid getting yourself stressed as much as possible. Stress is the main contributor to wrinkles, which makes us look older. Also getting your regular sleep of about eight hours a day is also a must. You should let your body have it's rest to fully replenish the energy you lost throughout the day, because if you don't, the likelihood of you getting stressed is higher since you'll still feel tired after about only three hours of sleep.

I attempt to stay youthful keeping tabs with the people I shared young memories with. Keeping in touch with them never makes anything old at all! We play, gist, talk and do a lot of stuff like we would when we were younger. The lesser we took things too serious, the more fun it gets. Yes, it helps to think positive and keep having fun. Learning something new and applying the knowledge is always a youthful gesture for me. Cooking and eating local wholesome dishes(junk food will make anyone old fast!) definitely brings out the youngster in me. Nature walks and going to the beach talking to my mom and my nephew, it's like the best of both worlds. Sharing the joy and laughter and hugs work to believe it or not along with doing my hobbies makes me feel youthful always.

People regard me as childish since my ideas are weird but I do not let it bring me down. I rather find the thought that they think I am weird very funny. In this way, I know I will stay a youthful person.

I stay youthful by making sure that I have work-life balance. I always make sure that I have time to relax and chill with my family. Going on vacations also help me to destress. This does not necessarily require a lot of costs, as traveling short distances will also suffice. Besides that, I also use gaming as an avenue to play and enjoy myself. I want us to first note that the "YOUTHFUL STAGE" is different from one country to another. For example, in my country, you are still a youth at the age of 39years. Whenever we are celebrating our yearly Youth convention many people of age 39 and 40years participate as well. But in some country, you are no longer a youth once you clock 30years. Now to your question, to me, for you to stay youthful is by helping & associating yourself with the youth. Make it a habit of associating, hosting an event in educating&helping the youth, playing, discussing things, having many youths as friends etc. What this does is to make you recall your youthful days and pass a message to your subconscious mind that you are still there.In fact helping,associating&motivating the youth makes you stay young.

I've always believed that age is more a state of mind. Some days I feel rather older than I am, but some days I feel much younger than I am. In general, I find that most people seem to perceive me as being about ten years younger than I am. How do I stay youthful? Well, first you have to consider all aspects of yourself--your mind, your body, your heart and soul. For my body I try to keep healthy by eating well: lots of fruits and vegies, mostly fish, very little processed or junk foods, and drinking lots of water. For my mind, I try to keep active: trying new things, engaging in board games, reading, participating in discussions. For my soul to stay youthful... that's the most fun part! I play! I act silly, I joke around, I dress up in costumes, I watch cartoons, I have lots of stuffed animals, I take joy in the smallest of things. I feel that my soul is still about five years old. It helps that I'm an elementary school teacher and so I generally have young kids that I work with and can be silly with from time to time. Staying youthful is a choice, you have to choose to find joy even when life is difficult.

As someone who volunteered to work with elderly people, I realize that those who live life with a positive manner tend to age gracefully. It is common to have worries and stress but how we cope with such things will decide whether we can stay youthful a not. Physical and mental health is important towards staying youthful.

there are a lot of things that i usually do to stay youthful. First, I stay away from junk food, it makes my skin looks awful, I prefer to take a lot of fruits and veggies. second, I always keep positive, thinking, sometimes negative thinking makes you to be an emotional person, In fact, there is a study that shows the relationship between a person's attitude and his physical and mental health. third, I often do exercise every morning in order to keep me energized and decrease my fatigues, last, I manage my stress carefully, I often travel to make me healthier.

I like to watch a lot of Stand Up videos on Youtube or T.V. because I feel I'm getting younger when I laugh. Also, I enjoy watching Disney or Dreamwork animated movies, sometimes I watch Cartoon Network cartoons like Adventure Time or Regular Show. Playing video games helps you to feel younger too, practicing some sport or work out sometimes helps you a lot. About food, eating ice cream, candies, chocolate or any kind of sweet sometimes is very healthful to feel young.

Being active helps me as well to be youthful because it gives motivation to get up early in the morning and do a lot of things before the day ends. Being sad and miserable is the opposite of it unfortunately, trust me I've been there, I'm not doing much but I'm always tired of being sad all the time and wallowing my miseries in my room, no progress at all. I just turned 45 this past June, but people usually say that they think I am in my early thirties. I think this is mainly because I tend to have a positive attitude about things, and I have always held on to my childlike curiousity and playfulness. People tend to take themselves to seriously, and they forget about how fleeting life is. Stress will age you faster than any bad diet, bad genetics, disease, or habits. My great-grandmother almost lived to be one hundred years old, and she used tobacco products and drank beer every day. She told me it's ok to have vices as long as you mind your stress. Of course, she killed two husbands with her cholesterol filled cooking, or so the family says, but she was always happy and smiling all the way up to the end. I would say that she died young.

Playing with kids help a lot. Also doing "kids stuffs" like playing video games, laughing at anything you want and just being yourself. The best thing you can do to keep looking young is to stay out of the sun. Don't tan (real or booths), and always wear sunblock. I used to work in a gym and would watch the new members when they started the tanning booths. Within 6 months they looked 10 years older.

I like to think that a key to staying youthful is not letting the things that made you happy as a kid go away. For instance, if you like cartoons, continue watching them in your adulthood. If you have a hobby as a kid, like basketball or skateboarding, you should continue to do it. You should try new things, find hobbies and activities that make you feel that same carefree joy that you did as a kid. For me, activities like this help me keep in touch with the younger self that is still contained within me. There's always beauty to be found in the little things.

Another thing that I like to do is travel to my hometown and talk to my old friends. Sure, you hear the phrase, "All my old friends are still at home doing the same stuff." However, the truth is that you still think of them as friends. I rarely travel back home, but when I do, it feels great. Not only does it give me feelings of nostalgia and bring back some of my youth, but it makes me happy to see how far that I've come since I lived there.

I ask her if what was her secret and she told me to Drink a lot of water, eat fruits and vegetables and also maintain a positive outlook in life. Do not drown yourselves over negativity and stress. Having lots of sleep everyday is the first think that comes to my mind if you want to stay youthful. Nothing makes you look older than a lack of sleep. It makes you cranky too. It makes your head hurt. You'll look older and feel terrible. Drinking lots of water works too. And doing regular exercise.

It's playing games especially football games that makes me still feel like a youth. I do play live football but I enjoy playing it's game better. Competing against several players online is what makes me enjoy playing the game more. Seeing myself battle with other managers online to know who understands football well and to be able to craft a win in matches is so thrilling.

I am 32yrs old but I still look 25 like what my friends are saying. I don't think its how young you look but its about how young you feel. I have older friends who looks old at their age but I see them dress like teenagers and play sports like kids. I am a Project Manager by profession but a Dance Director outside work and I try to maintain a good work-life balance to stay youthful despite the busy days from work. I have 2 kids and I play with them with their toys and with their video games. Again, its not about how young you look but its about how young you feel about yourself. Do not forget to smile, its one of the secrets of staying young.

I don't use any certain products or medications that promote youthful looks for your face and even your skin. I rely though on my habits, getting enough rest by sleeping early, eating the right amount of nutritious food every day, observing a proper and disciplined routine of exercises and surrounding my self with good and positives feelings with people around me is what makes me feel young and happy in my everyday life. There will certainly be days with lots of hardships and stress from problems and deadlines at work. But treating it as a challenge and thinking that there will probably be a good thing that will come up once I get past with those problems is much better rather than agonizing in every details of my mistakes that I made.

I drink lots of water, don't smoke, go for long walks and indulge once in a while in drinking. Oh and lay off on the sugar. Believe it or not sugar can and will cause your body super amounts of stress forcing your cells to regenerate at a faster pace than necessary which runs down your body at a much faster pace. I'm in my 30s and can easily pass for a teenager, no joke. I get carded all the time. I even get teen discounts for bus passes because people automatically assume I'm in high school, which is nice and funny at the same time. Don't use a lot of makeup either which I think causes premature aging cause you can't let your skin breath under all that gunk.

I must say I'm in my thirties but I don't really look my age. I look about eighteen. I live by the motto of the theme song eighteen until I die. I always get compliments about not aging. Life can get rough however I try and do the following things religiously.I try not to let stress get the better of me. I try and work out, eat healthily and meditate on a daily basis. I take glutathione and collagen to look and feel young even I'm already 38 years old. I take them orally in form of capsules. I don't go for intradermal. That's way expensive and I'm scared of needles. Taking these pills won't reverse aging like 20 years younger. But it does to my face roughly 10 years younger. I also take Slimina to keep my body weight ideal to my height.

Learning something new that keeps me absorbed for hours and days helps me stay young. I have enrolled myself in weekend classes to learn about dressmaking and high speed sewing. I'm not particularly doing well at this class but I don't feel the pressure of coming up with good grades at all. It's just nice at this point to learn things that I would not otherwise have bothered to learn when I was younger. It's nice to take weekend classes with my son and it has become one of our bonding moments. Having a young child allows me to relive my own childhood. There are days when my son plans the day for us and that could be something exciting because a day could be unpredictable and fun. It feels great to be out of control on some days.

Adult life is more about life. When you reach the age of 30 (which is my age at the moment) you will be more conscious and worried about your future. You'll give up things that you love doing before. If you are living on your own and nobody supports you just like me then I guess the best thing we can do is to stay our youthfulness is to stay fit by doing regular exercise and avoid bad foods and drinks that will ruin our body and mind.

I think it's different for each person. Some might find the path of becoming parents to be the best way to stay youthful as you can be constantly reminded by your kids of how it is to be a child. For me, I just look at my nephew and niece because that way I could get the benefits without having to deal with the problems of worrying about things like budget and schooling. I think trying not to think about aging too much helps too, as I find many people keep remembering that they are getting older and therefore they feel older whereas I've seen some people older than them who just don't care too much and they seem a lot more youthful to me even more so than friends who are younger than them.

Stress plays a big part of making us feel and look older than our real age. As an adult, it is very difficult to ignore stress but what we can do is to at least lessen how it affects our lives. When feeling stressed already, take a little time out to break free from it. Do what can calm you and go back once you are already relax. Try to stay as positive as possible.

My father is 73, he still works in the farm, he has plans to start a business. My mother is in 60s. She still does manual labor. They are young. However, at this age many people retire.

I think for us to remain youthful, we must not take care of our physical health only. We have to make sure that we are fit holistically. For me to remain youthful, I always make sure that I am healthy in all aspects. Physically and mentally. To take care of my physical health, I make sure to burn fats everyday. Since I'm not into exercising, I look for activities that I will enjoy and at the same time, will help me burn fats. I also make sure to handle stress well. I think it all depends on the person and what makes them tap into that silly side of them. To me the key to feeling youthful is happiness and good health. Eating right and drinking recommended amount of water can make your body feel a whole lot younger. You have to keep your mental health in top shape to. Some would give up, some would mine it and enjoy life and some would stress about it. Hey! You don't have to always work and don't overdo the enjoy life. Balance your time at work and your fun. Being around with kids I agree because we tend to imbibe their state of mind- constant wonder. My guess would be a younger person wrote this post? You do not suddenly think old. I like what I liked in the seventies and I still wear clothes of a style I liked back then. Keeping fit is probably the key thing and you do need to know a few tricks. Dye grey hair, line your lips before putting on makeup and never let anyone pigeonhole you as an older person. Just, as the person above said, laugh.

They definitely help me see the lighter side of life, and see the wonder in all the small things - I think that's hugely important. I also think that remaining active helps me stay young too. I then look back and the past 5, 10 years and contemplate how things have changed. I look at all the different directions my life taken. It's all about your mindset. You should focus your free time on doing things that exhilarate you, and make you feel like your best self. Seek out people that do this to you as well. Always look for new things to try, and keep perfecting your own skills. A big thing I've noticed is a lot of people get to a point and think "I'm too old to be doing this..." and most of the time, it isn't true. There is nothing wrong with enjoying video games as an adult. There's nothing wrong with watching cartoons as an adult. There are a lot of limitations people put on themselves thinking they need to do or stop doing specific things at a certain age and generally that's all bullshit. You do not need to be married by a certain age, and it does not mean you won't ever get married if that is what you truly want. You do not need to own a house, or have a specific career, or make a certain amount of money. You don't have to stop trying to become an artist, or musician, or anything. None of that is indicative of maturity or immaturity. If you're not doing things you love or keeping yourself healthy and active, you will age a lot more quickly and you will be very aware of it.

I quit drinking, started sleeping at least 7 hours a day, drinking 10 glasses of water a day, stretching for 30 minutes after waking up and also began to have a more positive outlook on life. Another secret that might seem crazy but it's working for me is to say "I love you" more frequently to those I care about.

Meditating even for only about 10 to 15 minutes a day can improve mental and physical health. I include the practices of full awareness in my daily activities. For example, eating in an intentionally relaxed and reflective way is related to an improvement in digestion and health.

I exercise regularly to maintain my.weight and to be always physically fit. I drink vitamins and natural supplements as well as fresh ginger and turmeric tea daily. For my skin, I use local lemons called calamansi as a facial and body scrub. I also do still and moving meditation to exercise my mind. I watch a lot of feel good and comedy movies, because laughter is good in easing of stress and pressure.

I meet up with my childhood friends whenever I find time. It makes me nostalgic and takes me back to my childhood. Spending quality time with your loved ones definitely has an impact on your mental health. Also, regular exercise is essential in today's stressful world. People end up spending most of their day sitting in front of the computer and an evening walk or a dance class will certainly help in easing up your body. Also, maintaining a health diet is recommended. Avoiding junk food, sticking to a daily routine, spending time with close friends and family will all contribute in staying fresh.

There's no need to stop having fun or playing games just because you're older especially if those things give you joy and laughter! No one can really stop the aging process it's a natural human thing, but we can age in style. Eating right, keeping hydrated and having enough rest will contribute a lot to a healthy body. Keeping your face and your skin moisturized will help keep your skin soft and glowing. Alleviate stress by doing things you love and spending time with people you love.

Stay away from harmful substances like drugs, limit intake of alcohol and avoid smoking. Keep your self hydrated and exercise. Meditate. Have at least 8-10 hours of sleep and as much as possible limit stress.

Challenging myself to try new things. I go dancing lessons, I join reading clubs or hiking. Reading, dancing and finding new ways to stay active will help me keep a youthful perspective on life. Another thing is that I am not afraid to laugh at myself. I try new things with joy to increase my dopamine and energy levels. I listen to music and dance to also increase my dopamine levels.

Emotionally I don't take everything too seriously and I always keep in mind that being happy is the most important thing. Physically, I eat healthy food but I also unhealthy ones because they taste great. I also take some vitamins and moisturize day and night and use anti aging masks occasionally.

I stay youthful by playing with our 6 year old and 4 year old. Being around them gives me reason to once again play silly games that I would not be able to do sans those cute, hyper and intelligent little human beings. When I am really stressed I also go out and play Magic: the Gathering at a local shop near me. Playing this game requires a lot of critical thinking and makes me forget about the outside world for a while. Being emotionally and mentally healthy will reflect on your body and in turn make you look physically healthy (also there is a thing called exercise that I sometimes begrudgingly do).

I agree that playing with kids always makes us stay youthful. I think it's actually our mindset that plays an important part. No matter how old we are, we can stay youthful if we want to. I always think I am still very childish as I enjoy playing the toys and games together with my kids. I don't mind being childish as it makes me feel happy, and my kids like it too. I think kids might find it bored if the mother is too serious.

I think that being young is more a spiritual and mental thing than a physical thing. If you look at all the people that are considered old but look young. A good example is the singer Tina Turner. She looks like she is in her 40s but she is 79 years old. She is an American who now lives in Europe she has a younger boyfriend and its clear that she is living her best life. I think this attitude has helped her maintain her youth.

I agree with jaymish. Youth comes from within - and to me, it starts at not taking oneself too seriously, being able to laugh at oneself and taking a moment every day to appreciate things. I heard someone say one that wishing for more signifies that there's a hole in you, one you can fill with gratitude. When you take the time to laugh, be grateful for the things you have, engage in physical activity and surround yourself with good people, you'll be young until your body gives out!

To be youthful is to be happy and peaceful inside. Stay happy. If you are full of problems and stress yourself out, you will age faster. When you keep a happy and calm attitude, it will radiate and manifest in your outside apperance. Also, be caring to yourself and love yourself.
