How long does it take to have your smartphone fully charged 100%?

How long does it take to have your smartphone fully charged 100%?
It's a general knowledge that not all smartphone devices come with the same battery capacity. Some come with 2500 mAh, 3000 mAh, 4000 mAh, 5000 mAh and so on.

Now, each battery capacity determines how long the battery would stay before it's fully charged. Some would be 3 hours, 2 hours or more or less.

How long does your smartphone take before it's fully charged?

As per my observation, my 8-month old Samsung S8+ can go from empty battery to fully charged in 1.5 hours. When I am using it (music or social media) while charging, it takes up to 2-2.5 hours.

Your Samsung s8+ is a good performer then. If I listen to music while I charge then the phone does not become full. It heats up too. What a simple question that needs complicated answers.

I tend to take music as soemthing which does not cause too much disruption since I have my phone charging on most times with the music or radio on in the background and I have never found any serious implications. However, I do not use any other apps when charging.

My htc also takes a maximum of an hour and several minutes when drained completely and I leave it to charge without being disturbed. I heard that it is unhealthy to the phone battery to use while charging and as such I always try to let it charge undisturbed.

I am using Samsung A5, which I bought two years ago. It takes one hour to charge full, that is when I am not using internet or watching videos. If I am using my phone while charging, it takes just about 2 hours.

My phone is also a Samsung but I am amazed by the speed of charging of your Samsung considering that it’s an old model already. My phone charges for a longer time maybe 4 hours at least when it is less than 50% when I charge it but for a fully drained battery it would need an overnight charging to get into full charge. Maybe it also depends on the kind of model because having the same brand does not mean it will have the same features and functions.

My Huawei Y360 takes about 2 hours to be fully charged. The phone does not accept any other charger apart from the original charger. Some times I put it on charge at night and forget it to spent overnight on charge. I know this is damaging the phone but I have no otherwise.

There are some times when the charger I put on my htc also has some effect in the rate of power consumption and recharge rate by the phone. Some cables refuse to be accepted by the phone while the others tend to charge at a slower rate.

I think normal charging of mobile phone battery takes 2 to 3 hours and it all depends on what kind and what is the capacity of the battery.

so true a majority of the smartphones especially the ones that are very common range from a rate of 1-2 hours unless the phone has stayed for long and as suich its battery has depreciated.

Charging time also depends on the kind of charger you are using. If you are using the recommended charger, it will charge fast. Generally speaking, charger of high end devices are better than the charger of normal phones.

My phone takes about 3-4 hours. It takes this long because I don't quite use my cellphone that much. I'm more on my laptop and my tablet so I only use my cellphone for calls, text messages or listening to my music on the go. The maximum use of the cellphone I use is around 1-2 hours only. I find my phone very useful though especially during business meetings and coffee breaks. Sometimes I just relax and watch some YouTube on it but it doesn't consume that much battery because it is mostly on the lowest brightness possible.

That's very long. If I were the owner of the phone, I would be very disappointed with the charging speed and will not wait until it gets fully charged to use it.

I also keep my phone consuming the least power possible so that I can use it for an even longer time without having to recharge. ON most days I can take the whole day before I charge and only charge at night when at home before the next day.

I guess it's only about an hour before my phone gets fully charged, without using the phone of course. My phone has a 2800mah battery and could take advantage of the Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. I am satisfied with the charging speed but I am not satisfied with how long it lasts. Planning to change my phone as soon as I can.

Wow. That is awesome since it has some quick charge features very common with some of the phones that are released into the market at the moment. There are options out there however that can take lesser perhaps even half an hour like the oppo f9.

My phone takes about 2 hours to fully charge. Well, in a day, I charge my phone twice, so it's a total of 4 hours. It's because I always use my phone for business. I feel bad for my phone as I think I'm draining it everyday.
Posted by theresajane on 11-11-2018

That is quite some heavy drainage in the usage of the phone and I think that It will depreciate at an even faster rate than if you did not charge it that often. However, since you use it for business purposes it is justified as you will have made more money to buy another one.

ALso be prompt to take it out when it has finished charging so time yourself to check if it has completed after about an hour and fifty minutes. Though a smartphone will detect when fully charged and stop charging it might discharge to 99% and then keep refilling which diminishes some charge cycles.

My phone charges very quickly and the problem is that I heard charging it to 100% all the time will eventually cause harm to the battery and lower its lifespan so I always try to intercept it mid charge if I could. The problem with this is that I find not having a full charge to be a bit of a chore since I don't feel like it's enough since I use my device heavily, and also most of the time I forget that I'm charging my phone and by the time I return to it, it's already fully charged.
Posted by Wubwub on 11-11-2018

If it is a smartphone then you should never worry about having to charge when the power is half-empty as it is even healthier for your phone and especially its battery. Thre will be more half power cycles and the phone battery has a longer lifespan.

Well, my phone gets fully charged in around 90 minutes. Actually, I use my phone a lot these days so I have to check its charging frequently. I have read somewhere that to prolong the battery life of our phone we must not allow the charging to go below 40 percent. although it's very difficult to follow this rule, I try my best to keep my battery close to that level of 40 percent.

It is said that battery powered devices like phone, laptop or tab have 1000 charging time, which means the battery will function appropriately until it is charged 1000 times. After that the battery will being to drain quickly. More you charge your phone, more damages you will be doing to your battery.

For me it takes around 2 hours for the Mi phone. Though some of the time I keep it charged. And it works out too. I know one thing for sure that some of the phone are easy to charge. Samsung seems to be coming with those type of the phones. And they are definitely interesting on that note. Smartphones in future would be lot quicker to charge.

I agree. It would also be better if the batteries are innovated to have more storage for the power such that you can use your phone for about two days before the power is depleted and after that take about 20 minutes for it to charge fully.

The battery life of a phone depends on how much you use your phone. If you are using your phone since a long time, your battery life will decrease. Even if you charge full, the battery will not last long. The only way to avoid this is by replacing the battery, provided the battery is removable.

The draining of the battety depends on the use. The heavier you use it the quicker the battery drains. A smartphone taming two days with a charge is a miracle. Normally a smartphone has so many apps working even if you are not using it. They usually consume the battery

I actually don’t even own a smartphone at the moment because my last one broke and I couldn’t be bothered to replace it. I just use an old Nokia now as it’s perfectly adequate for my minimal needs. That being said, my last phone was a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it had a pretty decent charging time. I had some sort of “lightning port” on my laptop that was supposed to make charging quicker, so it would typically go from 0% to 100% in just about under an hour. When I used a standard charger it would take about an hour and a half.

Aside the battery capacity of my TECNO F3 (Pop 1), another factor that determines when it will be full charged is the charger i use to charge it. I still have the phone's carry-come charger, and when I use it to charge, it will likely take 2he's to 2he's 30mins for the phone to be full charged. When I'm charging the phone and using us simultaneously, it is likely going to take like twice this time or 1.5 of the time. When I'm using other chargers, tell charge time is likely going to decrease

I've never timed it specifically, but at a vague guess I'd say 1.5 to 2 hours is around the right mark. I wish there was a way to speed it up faster than that - and maybe one day there will be - but until then I'll have to just be content with what I've got.

With what I read on the net as I search on how to charge a battery I was surprised how is the proper process of doing it. We usually know that i needs to be drain before we charge it. But what is the best for a phone battery is not to let it become 20 percent lower. You need to charge it before the battery become caller red. It is safer with that than waiting for it ti drain.

I recently bought a Huawei Honor 7c. It has a battery capacity of 3000mAh. I am an avid user of the smartphone. I charge it once early in the morning when the battery percentage is very low( less than 15%). It usually takes 2 full hours to get fully charged. I make sure I do not attend calls when the battery percentage is below 20% as the radiation levels are 1000 times more when the battery charge is less than 20%. I am happy with my mobile and I feel 2 hrs for getting fully charged is good as I have no problems in using all the available services on the smartphone all day long.
