Is sugar deadly?

Is sugar deadly?
The bottom line is that sugar works the addiction and reward pathways in the brain in much the same way as many illegal drugs. Sugar is basically a socially acceptable, legal, recreational drug with deadly consequences.

What do you say? I myself think that sugar can cause a real addiction.

Should we cut sugar from our diet?

Cutting all sugar from your diet would be very difficult to achieve. Fruits, vegetables, dairy products and dairy replacements, eggs, alcohol and nuts all contain sugar, which would leave you with little other than meat and fats to eat - definitely not very healthy.

So what is the correct answer now? Ear sugar or do not eat sugar?

What I think here is that, we should just use sugar moderately as it is bad for the health if putting too much sugar on your drink or food. We have history of diabetes so cutting the sugar is necessary for our family. We can eat but don't over do it as lacking and too much are bad so just put a sugar in moderation.

Our family also has a history of diabetes. Sadly, we have to minimize our sugar intake. I love sweets, I love to put more sugar on my drink when I was a kid. But, right now, we are advised to monitor our intake as it may affect our health.

It is difficult to say what is the moderate amount of sugar. The foods we eat and the drinks we take already contain a large amount of sugar and when you add sugar in your food, you are already taking extra sugar. Sugar is soluble carbohydrate with high level of glucose which can be a cause of diabetes if you are taking too much.

There is a saying that everything in excess is bad to our health or to our life. However, if we talk about if sugar alone is beneficial or not, well I can say that sugar is important in human body.

There are different kinds of sugar. It depends on where it came from, its color, or how it was processed. For instance, natural occurring sugars like sugars found in fruits or sugar which underwent to different process such as icing sugar, brown sugar and white sugar. These sugar is beneficial to our body in a certain level. So, How can I say that sugar is beneficial to our body and without it our human body might not function well. One of the advantages of sugar in our body is it is our body's primary source of energy. In addition to, sugar is vital for our brain health because our brain needs sugar to do its function.

However, too much sugar and being addicted to it can cause different health problems. Consuming too much sugar is not deadly instantly but I do believe it can cause various diseases that can cause body problems or even death. Sugar is the main cause of obesity and chronic health problems like diabetes, fatty liver, high blood pressure and heart diseases.

Therefore, sugar intake should be with our diet within the recommended daily limit.

Insulin is a vital hormone for the functioning of our body because it allows glucose to enter the cells of the blood and promotes the burning of glucose. Sugar can be bad for your health because it is soluble carbohydrate. If you eat more sugar, you will be taking more carbohydrate. carbohydrate will be converted into glucose and unused glucose is deposited as fats, which is the cause of obesity. Right now, I'm limiting my sugar and sugary foods intake. This includes white rice, bread and processed foods. What I do is I switch it with fruits wguch have healthuer sugars unlike commercial sugars. We should start eating healthy at a young age because healthier foods give lots of benefits, shirt term and long term. I know it will be hard at first but it'll be all worth it. Sugar is most deadly when it is processed sugar; but natural sugar does lesser harm.

Ice creams, burgers, cakes, synthesized fruit juices, candies, bars of chocolates, and many others contain processed sugar, which can cause different kinds of illness: obesity, high sugar level, diabetes, and even cancer. Worst still they're addictive. When one gets obsessed with sugar, one is opened to risks, and to make it worse, ones guard against it redices, making it difficult for one to break the addiction.

I think we should cut down on our artificial intake.

Natural sugar produce energy in the body, I know artificil sugar does too, but the body works better with the natural one than with the artificial one.

Sugar coming from fruits are not the same as your table sugar. They are natural sugars, which are a mix of sucrose, fructose and glucose. These substances are not as bad as table sugars because they balance each other. Aside from that fruits also have fibers to counter such. Many doctors and scientists are beginning to agree that sugar is, in fact, extremely deadly. Obesity and diabetes are an epidemic in the United States and many other countries around the world, and a major cause of those diseases is sugar. These days they put sugar in just about everything, and what’s worse is that it’s notorious for being extremely addictive. Studies have shown that sugar is actually eight times more addictive than cocaine. So now, not only do we have a substance that can cause potentially life-threatening diseases, but it’s also extremely hard to cut out of your diet as well. Yes, sugar can be deadly.

Sugar is one of the most addictive substances in the world, whether we realize it or not. It comes in many forms such as fructose, glucose, and starch, and it is found in so many types of food -- not just sweets and desserts, but also in honey, rice, and bread. Like any other things, too much is always bad for you. We should watch out for sugar, in particular, because it is highly addictive. When you consume sugar, a signal basically activates the brain's "reward system," which makes us crave more sugar. Going back to the question, "Is sugar deadly?" the answer is definitely yes. Eating too much sugar can lead to insatiable hunger, insulin resistance, diabetes, and even liver failure. Sugar makes you hungry because as discussed earlier, it makes you want to crave more food, and you end up getting stuck in an endless cycle. This leads to weight gain and obesity, which can lead to other health problems. On the other hand, sugar spikes up insulin and blocks leptin, the hormone that regulates body weight.

Of course, moderation is key. I think that one cannot completely remove sugar from their life. We just really need to be mindful of what we put inside our body, and at the same time let ourselves enjoy the sweetness of life from time to time.

In my opinion, too much sugar can never be good because of the side effects of consuming too much of when your body can't digest all of it, then you will have diabetes which is a very deadly disease.

This is actually why most adult and old people are advised to take small or no sugar.

Even worse, sugar can be extremely addictive for many people. Like drugs, sugar promotes the generation of dopamine at the pleasure center of the brain.

Sugar is a poison as such, being toxic to the human body, as are all carbohydrates. I know that many people will try to shoot me down for stating this, but the fact is that people who eat carbohydrates are more likely to become overweight and diabetic than those who don’t.

I think too much of anything is bad for you so we have to consume sugar in moderation. If you can't avoid sugar consumption, you can use natural sweeteners such as Stevia.

When our cells become resistant to insulin, the beta cells of our pancreas work more. This is crucial because high blood glucose levels can cause serious and irreversible damage.

Over time, insulin resistance becomes stronger and the pancreas can no longer produce the amount of insulin needed to keep blood sugar levels under control. At this point is when the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes may be inevitable.

The limit for a male is 37 grams per day or equivalent to 9 teaspoons a day for female 25 grams or 6 teaspoons a day is the safest range. Sugar is not good for the body at all! Too much of anything is not good. I would say that everyone needs to limit the amount they take in daily. Even natural sugars. My doctor just told me and my husband that fruits are great for your diet, but vegetables should be eaten more as fruits still contain the natural sugars. She said if you want to lose weight, you should consider eating quite a bit more veggies.

Sugar is definitely deadly if you take a huge amount of it, I can easily say that because the number of people who suffers diabetes in my place are huge and when I ask some of them if they consume a lot of sugar they most definitely say yes.

I agree that we should cut down on sugar but not to the alarming level. There may be a high percentage of the world population that are afflicted with diabetes and perhaps it is the lifestyle and not just the food we eat. Cutting down on sugar will not minimize the risk of having diabetes but it is definitely good to avoid sugar if you are diabetic. My take on the issue of sugar is to do some regular exercise to burn the sugar that you eat.

We don't need to completely cut off sugar from our diet! What we need to do is avoid excessive sugar intake. The thing is, most of us aren't aware of the amount of sugar we're taking in everyday, with the calorie-rich fast food products and sugar-sweetened beverages widely available in the market nowadays. Too much sugar can lead us to develop Diabetes Mellitus, a lifestyle disease which can lead to harmful complications such as nerve damage, kidney damage, vision deterioration, poorly healing wounds.

I don't much of sugar because I was brought up this way, my parents never allow us to scope sugar ourselves to avoid us taking much of it. So I don't have much of sugar problem. I try to teach people around that it's better to take powdered milk someday and let sugar be.
