It's time we took Global Warming more seriously
With politicians such as Donald Trump dismissing the idea of Global Warming, it is time that we actually took it seriously and looked after the earth for the future. Because not only will it affect us, but it will affect future generations. It also affects animals such as polar bears whose habitats are being destroyed because of us. I'm glad that electric cars are slowly increasing in popularity because it is a much better alternative to petrol and diesel but it's still not enough. We need to look at renewable energy and try and focus technology around that.

Agree

sspi

Definitely!

Global warming is a serious problem. We have been hearing about it for so many years! Preservation and caution have been slowly accepted and people have started to do their bit but it is not enough. We are seeing effects of global warming more and more, and we all need to do more.

Many already do, only a small minority don't

The problem is that this has gone on for too long and a huge percentage of the population are doing something. However, there are some ignorant ones who only think about the now, jobs, business, and money and they are the ones who refuse to do anything.

Sadly, their descendants (if any are left) will suffer the consequences, and it's about education. They choose not to listen except to the jangle of money.

YES!

If Donald Trump that there is no such thing as global warming it must be true, right?? Some people even believe that and it is saddening. Global warming is a major issue that we are faced with every day. Different people and scientists have been warning us for years about the future consequences but people still choose to dismiss it.

I believe that if we all started taking it more seriously and we stepped together and made a conscious effort we could definitely decrease it by a lot.

We have to stop polluting our beautiful planet before we completely destroy it and it is too late. I hope that people become more aware of how big of a problem global warming truly is.

That's obvious

Global warming is brighter than ever. I honestly can't understand (and I can not accept the idea) when someone says that global warming is a kind of "exaggeration" and that the environment is just going through a "troubled phase". What else needs to happen for global warming to really be faced in a serious way once and for all? Oh, my... :-(

Save our Mother Earth!

It is time to do something about it. We don't have to wait for the leaders to take any actions because it will take ages before they launch the campaigns.

We can save our mother Earth by stop polluting the air, the river or sea, stop open burning, reduce usage of vehicles, reduce using plastic bags and Styrofoam ,plant more trees and may more.

At home, I would try to recycle unwanted items into good use. For example, I turn old torn shorts into a new washer cover or sewing machine cover or cushion seats.

If everyone does his part a little, we can reduce global warming and cure our mom after all

The time has come and gone.

It has taken far too long for people to come to this conclusion, long enough that we've already passed the point of no return. The time to start making changes and prevent the consequences of manmade climate change was years ago, yet we continued polluting and hurting our chances. At this point, it isn't about solving climate change but rather simply trying to do some damage control.

The sad thing is that we still aren't doing enough. Without getting too political, the current president of the United States is an avid climate change denier, and his stance along with that of his supporters is an absolute worst case scenario for helping the environment. At least the rest of the world is taking preventative measures.

For the sake of the next generation

I agree. A lot of people dismiss the idea of global warming, which is clearly present to this day. It's probably because they're always under their sky rise condos and luxurious hotels that they can't find time to notice the change in the weather anymore. We need to take this more seriously before our sons and daughters would perish for the mistakes we've made.

Signs of damage already there

As someone else said, the time to take global warming seriously was years ago. The signs of damage are already very visible.

Over the last couple of years the region in which I live has suffered an extended heatwave as well as a severe drought. Eventually the drought was broken by heavy rains and flooding so bad that some people lost their lives. In other parts of the country the drought is worse than ever though, with no signs of it coming to an end any time soon. The water restrictions in those parts are so severe that I'm not sure how people can survive.

I agree!

I agree with you, but what can we do without politician support. And is not only Trump who make himself that this problem doesn't exist! Are people just economic entities influenced by the balance of costs and benefits? Or are they better thought of as social beings, shaped by their interactions with others. If we don't have a support to fight, our battle is lost from the beginning!

It is!

Global warming it's a serious stuff and we have to be realistic about it. Everyone should do their own little part of collaborating to save our planet Earth, is the only one we have and if we don't take part and help to save it, our planet is gonna be even more damaged soon. It's never too late to start to do something about it, I know some things had already been done but it's not enough.

Yes!

It is time to make the world better, not only for the global warming, the world have a lot of problems and I think that we need to solve them, things like poverty, corruption, the deforestation, the earth is our only place to live and we need to save it now.

Agreed

I highly agree with you, we should take a serious action about the Global Warming, as people do not care about the environment, we all should care and look at this issue as a serious one.

Very well!

We are the heroes of tomorrow. If we don't do what is right now, our future and children suffer it. We need tono protect that which was given freely to us. Nature (and maybe our economy). If only our leaders could see the bigger picture?

Leave the Earth better than we found it

Centuries of human activity have taken their toll on the environment, so it's up to us to ensure that we don't ruin the Earth any more than we already have. If we aren't careful, there won't be any planet for our future generations to take care of - and that's a pretty scary thought. We need to be the first line of defense against the destruction of the planet, because once we set up that first defense everything else will come so much easier.

Absolutely!

We have been experiencing some weird weather in the recent years and something has to be done. For example it snowed in my country a few weeks back. I mean that was unheard of, especially when you're from Africa.

Plant it , move with Tesla and produce renewable

The globe is heating up. Both land and oceans are warmer now than record-keeping began in 1880, and temperatures are still ticking upward. We as humans need to to do something about it. I believe the biggest thing we can do is plant more trees, kids should know more about the plantation and make it more of a hobby instead. Secondly, Governments all around the world needs to help simple people get electric vehicles by making them more cheaper for them, removing import taxes on them.Last but not least produce renewable energy and don't take out any further oil. In the end, Paris agreement must be respected and followed.

If we don't take global warming seriously sooner or later there is going to be no tomorrow. Because mother nature will wipe all forums of life off of the earth. And I don't think its even going to take a 100 years to kill off mankind at this rate.

It's to late

Well we are already to late for that. The Earths climate is already going to heat up by 1 degree and the Paris Agreement has a task to keep the Earth from warming up by 2 degrees. The only thing we can do is develop a new energy source that is sustainable and reliant. The oil companies persistently finance politicians to deny global warming so does greedy scumbags could enjoy their 2-5 years of life they have. The problem is there is no politician who is young an so they don't give a shit about our planet in 70 years. You think Trump really believes that global warming is fake, no, he just doesn't give a shit about it and gets the money for saying its fake.

Its not too late.

But it will take tremendous amount of money and will power to promote those technologies that were Eco-friendly with the environment. Implementation and enforcement of those laws that govern proper disposal of chemical and toxic waste must be strict to each and every sector of the community.

The biggest problem would lie on how can you help educate others especially the young ones on how it will affect future generations.

Global warming is a serious matter

I agree that we should take global warming seriously. It's really dangerous to life. I clearly remember its manifestation when super typhoon Haiyan (known as Yolanda here in Philippines) hit our country way back 2013. It's the strongest typhoon in Philippine history. It's a clear manifestation of the wrath of nature due to the climate change brought about by global warming. We had a lot a of casualties and a lot of people are still not able to recover form damages until now. The weather here is getting crazy too. We experience extreme heat at summer, which we don't experience before. Then there are times when the weather suddenly gets cold after the freaking heat.

Another dangerous things about global warming are the threats of melting ice caps and skin diseases due to high temperature. Other countries or islands might drown and end their existence if this melting of ice caps continues. People will be more prone to skin cancer too if the heat get worse.

Global warming is indeed a serious matter. We shouldn't take it lightly and be selfish enough not to think about the next generation who will live on earth. We can all contribute in our simple ways by avoiding to do things that destroy the nature.

The earth goes in cycles that mankind cannot chang

Let me say first off that I am agreement that we need to take care of this earth that we live on, and not pollute it. I think that changing to more sustainable fuel, such as solar-powered electricity, will be much better , not only for the earth, but for the people breathing the polluted air, and drinking the polluted water. It has been shown that the fracking that is being done is causing earthquakes, and will probably cause more of them; and pumping chemicals back into the earth when they remove the oil is not a good thing either. However, even if we do everything that we can to take care of this earth, it is not going to affect the natural cycles that the earth goes through, which are heating and cooling cycles. We have things like the ice age, which was thousands of years ago, and we also have the mini ice age which comes every few hundred years, and which we are now heading back into. The last one was around the 1600-1700's and caused famines all over the earth. Then the earth started warming up again for. The next 200 years, and now it is once more going into a cooling down cycle. Some parts of the earth are warmer; but some parts are starting to cool down already, and this will continue to happen for the next 200 years, at which time we will be in another small ice age, which just means that the overall temperatures on earth will be colder. If we have a large-scale natural disaster, like the caldera at Yellowstone Park erupting, the ash will be in the air for several years, and that will make the temperatures even colder.

I'm not well-versed with the articles and write ups about global warming. My only basis is what I experience. In the olden days, when I was a grade schooler, we had no air conditioner at home and the electric fan is used only when my father is there. But now, it seems that we cannot live comfortably without an air conditioner. It may be outrageous to some but we installed an air conditioner in the living room for the benefit of our dogs. That is to avoid heat stroke. And when there is power outage, meaning no appliances would work, what we do is stay inside the car with the engine running to avail of the air conditioner. That's how warm the earth is now.

Global warming is a very serious issue. It`s not only about politicians and country leaders, it concerns every one of us. Well, unfortunately, we cannot stop big-scale manufacturing of weapons, harmful emissions from plants, oil and gas extraction, but we can make a small but valuable input, by sorting out the garbage, using organic and environment-friendly staffs, replacing ACs with fans.

I think the change in temperature and the amount of changing climate enough can show you something about the global warming. You can see that global warming requires some effort to get rid of some of the time. I have seen that there is population control propaganda being run to control the population around. I have seen that going on for many. So considering that you can see that it's not going to be an easy way to deal with the global warming.

Don't take your information from the media. Do some research on your own, and be open-minded when you do.

Of course there are changes and varying patterns. That doesn't necessarily indicate a doomsday scenario. We haven't studied or recorded weather patterns long enough to even know all of the different cycles that exist.

Really it is high time will take a serious approach to global warming. The climate change is getting dangerously serious and yet we are not cutting on the greenhouse gas emissions. Settlements along the coastal are getting flooded, desert encroachment is getting serious and in some places there sea is rising. All these are disastrous and threaten human existence. But unfortunately the world are not taking this seriously and the world leaders are as well joking with the matter. Just over the weekend the USA president stated that USA will not go with paris climate accord until there is another round table discussion on the matter. This is rather poor we need to save our world.

I agree but it doesn't fall into this category of agree. We should take global warming seriously because we humans aren't insignificant enough to shrug off these changes we're making to the planet. Now we threaten our own existence after taking away so many other animal's existence. All of the greenhouse gasses that are polluting the atmosphere could have been solved if it weren't for the greed of a few rich people. I'm mostly talking about cars and factories since both have an alternative to their coal burning and smoke producing ways.

Yes we should like yesterday, if it's not already too late. The government is running the show without the people and have been doing it for far too long. It's up to us as a people to take a stand and start demanding to know exactly whats going on and to be included in decisions concerning ours and future generations survival. Until we do something ourselves or God intervenes it's just going to get worse.

Global warming and climate change are the issues that we need to take seriously. However, the main question is who is contributing to global warming and climate change. Unlike the popular belief that humans are contributing to global warming and climate change, there are also many researches that say global warming and climate change are the result of natural phenomena.

As a science major student, I sometimes try to imagine that the careful analysis of the negative effect of the ozone layer depletion and global warming are not real. It can be scary to know how unbearable life will be to live on earth if the current warming rate continues. It's high time government of nations started taking it seriously. Legislate laws to mitigate this reality dawning on us gradually. Most hit are the third world nations mainly in Africa with unpredictable power source. The woman in the village still goes to cut down trees( Afforestation is another problem) to make burn fire to cook for her family. The release of green house gases in that area is overwhelmingly too much.I think these are the type of problems that the UN should focus on solving before it goes over the bar.

Exactly what does it mean to "take global warming more seriously"? What can scientists really do about it. If there is a global warming naturally going on what can they scientifically come up with to prevent it from happening or even to protect Humanity?

Sometimes we cannot stop the natural cycle of global warming and climate change. It's just like that. Although pollutions and excessive CO2s can greatly help on destroying those cycles. There are more glaciers melting than before. And it's very scary. Imagine if all those ice glaciers melt together, oceans will be 200ft. 10ft itself is scary enough.

Global warming is a serious problem it changes everything in this world nowadays. Temperature during summer is no longer normal, when rain falls flood follow after, continuous lightning storm and acid rains that killed some plants. all of these are effect of what we've done to our nature the way how we use our natural resources and some people abuses that rights. We should support those advocates and promote taking care of our nature to lessen the effect of global warming.

Global Warming is a serious topic because it affects everything existing in this world. I find the climate in today's generation a lot hotter than during in 90's. The intense heat whenever summer is approaching is sometimes beyond normal that you get to experience heat strokes. The government are very serious on how to maybe lessen global warming because it can never be prevented, it's part of our world's cycle.

It's getting so serious this global warming issue that it should be no longer in the hands of politicians, they are good for lighter issues, this one is a little harder for them. every one should play a little part instead of waiting for big corporations to take drastic measures.

In the recent years, the changes in weather is very evident. Raining on Christmas day is a phenomenon but in the past 5 years, December is inhabited by rains. This last December, it was raining for 10 days or more and even on Christmas day, it also rained. The weather bureau said that we are experiencing a change in climate because of the excessive rains during the dry months. Global warming means the ice in the north pole may have thawed and turned into water that is why the rains are excessive. It is alarming because we live in a low lying area that floods can easily appear when it rains hard for 2 hours.
