Jordan B. Peterson is a real life philosopher
I've been listening to Jordan B. Peterson for about 3-4 months now and I have to say this guy is incredible! He is a Canadian professor and a real life psychologist and I believe he still teaches at the University of Toronto but overall his YouTube channel has blown up and he's been doing videos on psychology and society for quite a while now.

It is hard to explain what this man is all about because he talks about a huge number of subjects and has an opinion on a lot of stuff, but overall you need to listen to him to actually understand where I'm coming from. I believe this man may be a genius and a real life philosopher, his knowledge on human psychology is outstanding.

He is most know for criticizing and confronting the SJWs ideology and that coming from a modern day professor in Canada take real guts, because most of the professors in the western world are radical leftists to such a point that a real conversation and exchange of ideas with them is simply impossible, same goes for the students of said professors.

Jordan B. Peterson is one of the biggest beneficiaries of funds from Patreon, he has a huge number of funds that enjoy his videos and that want to see his research continue. As for right now he reached $61,481 a months via Patreon which is a pretty huge success for everybody involved.

Anyway, have you heard of Jordan Peterson, if yes, what do you think about him and do you think he is a visionary, a modern day philosopher future generation will read about?

Agree

Disagree

Alexa

Not heard of him

There are many 'real life' philosophers that make their mark in their own way and don't use crowdfunding. That to me seems to be the opposite of spreading a message.

Not all philosophers are leftist, many are ideologists though and yes, I have studied a degree in philosophy but there are many schools of thought.

If the ideas are something you can align with great, but it does seem like the OP appears to be a fan. The idea of philosophy is to encourage one to think and not to follow, because that is a cult.

I agree that he is a very good philosopher, even though i don't know much about him. I have the faith and believe that the writer has stated the truth about him.

I cannot agree or disagree because I never heard of him before, he may be an excellency psychologist but I don't think he has the fame to be known internationally. This doesn't matter if he has its local recognition this makes him a special man with great qualities for the new generation. I am sure that most of Canadians heard of him and likes the way he sees and teaches about life!

I have not much seen of his content. I have seen that there are plenty of philosophers and the psychologists are into this type of the content. On that basis, I'd say it can be reasonable to say that YouTube is going to be there all the time. I guess I have to check out some of those type of the psychologists content there as well. It's good to see new content and different point of view there as well.

Yes, i watched one of his videos where he had a conversation with a girl in his house. The conversation they were having based on a lot of topics especially feminism, atheism, and religion. His beliefs most of the time bombards your own thoughts. One really has to listen to him in order to understand the psychology from his point of view. His ideas just can't be typed and you would cherish after listening to him.

What does that even mean? ANyone who engages in philosophical inquiry is a real-life philosopher. And, frankly, philosophy is a self-serving effort devoid of scientific merit. It is an attempt to pull something out of nothing, requiring no falsifiable proof of factual veracity. Every single philosophical conversation inevitably breaks down to an argument between literalism and absurdism, a hurdle no one has ever, or will ever get over. It is the game we play when we are too lazy or dim to engage in meaningful scientific pursuit.

I sadly can't vote because I have never heard of him or any of his work. But I do know that there are many real life philosophers out there that are extremely successful with what they're doing. I am impressed by the funds that he managed to raise though since that is very hard - you have to appeal to the masses and do something that helps them. I will definitely try and find some of his videos though. You got me very intrigued :)

I never heard of this guy but it sounds like he has a lot of great qualifications. This post has intrigued me in looking at what he stands for, There are a few different things that I think I am interested in but the philosophical choices are one of the things that I need to read about. The philosopher sounds like a man who's thoughts on a variety of subjects would be something I would be interested in reading.

I don't know his content or hear of him in the past, so I will say no. The fact that he isn't that famous doesn't mean he is not good enough but I just don't know his work and philophy is kind of a boring subject for me so I will not be insterested in reading it anyway...
