Marvel have actually been around since 1939. They've been through two name changes before settling on "Marvel" as their choice of name. They gained huge popularity in the 1960's with hits like Spider-man and The Fantastic Four and have grown and expanded ever since.

Marvel have a lot of memorable heroes which have proved to be popular with people throughout the years. Heroes like Spider-man, X-men, The Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, etc. Have entertained and delighted fans for decades in the form of comics and movies.

Marvel doesn't seem to have any iconic or memorable villains. They seem to place a greater emphasis on their heroes which is probably why their villains are usually not well known by the general audience.

Both have given us some great heroes and made us think about super powers, fighting villains and so on. Personally I prefer the Marvel characters, probably because of the stories, and the movies that emerged afterwards.

I have always been a fan of Marvel comics. To me, they have the best story lines and the characters are just way better. Spiderman is one of my all time favorites. You just can not beat him!

Marvel Is Cooler

I know that it is probably because Marvel seems to have a larger production budget, but I have really enjoyed watching all the marvel films a lot more than the DC ones. This being said the suicide squad is just about to come out and once I have seen it I will be sure to update you all as to my new favourite. In conclusion I have to back iron man, I mean how can you not love a little bit of narcissistic playboy? Oh and of course we cannot forget spiderman the story that never gets old... well at least they think that judging by the number of remakes of it.

marvel is the best...

I am a huge fan of marvel comics.... I love every character in avengers.... and dead pool is really cool than DC death stroke. There are so many memorable super heroes in marvel than in DC , and I think the villians are cool too....

I do love each of the characters in Marvel than DC because their story is great and all of their special effects are really a state of the art. I never missed watching any Marvel movies especially anything about the Avengers. They are truly my favorite team of superheroes. I've watched each movie of DC especially, Superman and I find the story okay but not that great unlike in Marvel where the story is unpredictable. They're truly the best.

My love for Marvel hero movies is way beyond bounds because the company really knows how to make incredible and amazing movies. Avengers Infinity wars and The Black Panther is my favorite Marvel movies.

I think that Marvel has more relatable superheroes because a lot of them are just normal individuals, compared to DC where a significant portion are aliens and Superman the banner superhero, is quite overpowered. Batman is only the most relatable one in the more popular DC heroes. In addition, the latest string of Marvel movies help elevate their status compared to DC's.

It's funny that no one has voted DC yet. Marvel is just way ahead of DC in the film industy that even the super DC film Justice League bombed in the box office. One can say that DC is ahead in terms of TV, but that is still up in the air. I am a fan of both Marvel and DC, but ever since I was young, I would pick up a Marvel comic book rather than a DC one, there is just more that Marvel offers compared to the Superman and Batman-led DC Universe.

MARVEL is the best

Marvel is highly the best against DC. I prefer Marvel a lot not just because of its great movies but of course the comics, the figures and the other things that Marvel has a hold of. Marvel is known world wide and is highly known to a lot of countries. DC is the same but if you were to compare the popularity and the stocks on Marvel then for sure you'll see the difference. But one thing is for sure, you will always see Marvel doing something spectacular. EXCELSIOR!!!

DC's roots goes all the way back to 1935 when they published under National Allied Publications. The introduction of Batman in 1939 proved to be a huge hit and breakthrough for DC and they've been rapidly growing ever since.

DC has several iconic villains like The Joker, Lex Luthor and Two-Face. I think everyone can agree that a winning formula for any superhero title is an equally good villain to match and DC certainly knows how to do that. They also have iconic superheroes like Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne which is a huge plus.

People seem to only know Batman and Superman from DC. When I casually ask anyone if they know any heroes from DC, only Batman and Superman seems to resonate with them. Heroes like Arrow may be gaining popularity because of the TV show but it's still sorely lacking.

No votes have been made, be the first!

Well this is a toss up for me. I can't vote for either because I have a love for both of them. This would be similar to a star wars vs. star trek, I love both of those too lol :D My favorite person from Marvel is Thor (before he was a sex symbol lol) and my favorite person from DC is the joker. I like them both and I wish we could all just get along and mash DC and Marvel together :D

I find so many people in my circle who love both the Marvel and DC super heroes. Maybe we can say that super heroes are very popular in this modern time that it is not exclusively for children anymore like when I was young when such characters are the choices only of the kids. An adult who would say he loves super heroes will be a laughing stock. But now we all recognize any superhero from DC and Marvel.

Like Razzy, I can't vote on this. Superman is an amazing person with incredible powers and he's awesome in every way but I personally love Iron Man, from the movies, as I love Robert Downey Jr, and I think he's outstanding in the Iron Man and The Avengers movies. Another favorite of mine is Wolverine. Hugh Jackman and Robert Downey Jr in a versus would be impossible for me to vote on. So, I do believe I'd vote on Marvel, if my life depended on a vote.. But until it does, I say it's a tie between them.

It was always Batman and Superman when superheroes are mentioned. That’s the era where I grew up. My impression of the DC stories are more of science fiction than fantasy. With the Avengers, I find so many impossible aspects. One is Captain America who has no superpowers but has the strength of superman. That is impossible, no such human can do that. Marvel is not marvelous if you will ask me. I will stick to DC.

I used to enjoy Marvel comics more when I was a kid, but started to shift towards D.C as I got older. I think that Marvel intentionally gears their comics more towards younger kids which is why I was a bigger fan growing up. They have their dark moments and adult-oriented comics like Deadpool, but D.C comics take it to another level. While they don’t go to the extent that Dark Horse comics do, D.C tends to be generally grittier than Marvel, which is why I’m more into them these days. Unfortunately they’ve taken a dive in quality lately.

Marvel comics characters and universe as a whole is far superior to DC in my opinion.
