Meat is obtained from animals such as lambs, pigs, horses, etc. The term meat includes fleshy parts of muscles and tissues, including fat. It is a rich source of proteins and iron. In addition, there are several other nutrients essential for human beings that can be obtained from meat, including phosphorus and vitamin B12. It thus becomes a direct source of most of the requirements of the body and is believed to be the reason human beings have larger brains today than they would have had if their ancestors had remained herbivores. Not only does meat offer the required resources for repairing and building tissues, but it also offers protection against infections such as tuberculosis. On the flip side, meat does have substantial unsaturated fat, which was thought to be responsible for cardiovascular ailments. There are studies that are now exonerating unsaturated fats, but there is no conclusive evidence as yet to remove them from the blacklist. Unlike many vegetables, meat has a limited shelf life, and needs a specific temperature to prevent it from getting spoiled. It takes a rather long time to cook, but there are many recipes and dishes one can prepare with the various kinds of meat.

? It offers proteins, vitamins, and other nutrients to the body; ? It is the easiest way to obtain required nutrients that build as well as repair muscles, and keep the body free from infections.

? It has a limited shelf life and may need to be processed with preservatives to store for longer periods; ? Though it can be eaten raw, it is cooked, and cooking takes quite a while.

I Go With Meat

I totally know that fish is better for me, and that I should be a vegetarian or pescatarian, but I can't quit bacon, pork chops, or grilled chicken. That being said, the main issue for me here is the glorious cheeseburger! I could not give up that perfect of all foods. I could probably live off of cheeseburgers alone, to be honest. I know that fish provides healthy fats and such, and I do eat my fair share of seafood, but I still prefer meat if I am given the choice or forced to choose.

Simply like it better

It's not much to explain, it's a subjective matter, i am usually quite picky (way too picky) food-wise and I never was a fan of fish, so for me it's meat 100%.

I want to like fish but I don't

I just ordered trout the other night in an attempt to really grow in my fondness of fish. I was able to eat it, but I did not enjoy it. It was not tasty to me, but simply bearable. I want to learn to actually enjoy fish as I know that it is really good for you. However, I just haven't yet gotten to a place where I really, truly like fish. Steak, chicken, and pork chops, however, all taste wonderful to me. I love the flavor and the texture of those types of meats. I still try to eat more veggies than meat, but at times my body craves the protein.

Not a huge fan of fish

I am not a huge fan of fish, to be honest with you. I mean, I will eat it, maybe about once or twice a week to ensure that I have a varied diet. But I struggle to not eat meat. It's just my favourite, I mean I like most things. Pork, Beef, Chicken, Lamb/Mutton, Goat, Duck. My favourite probably has to be Pork especially considering how many different ways you can cook it. I just love pork fat!

Nothing can beat steak!

This is a very hard choice for me because I love both meat and fish. I know a lot of delicious fish dishes that make my mouth water all the time.

Meat is very delicious as well. I can think of a lot of dishes that involve meat. Burgers, pizza, barbecue.... But what makes meat stand out for me and make me choose it over fish is steak! A perfectly cooked tenderloin or porterhouse or rib-eye steak would beat any fish viand. Medium rare steaks are my favorite. They're very juicy and tasty. It has a level of taste that fish could never ever ever achieve.

I do eat both, meat and fish but I prefer meat much more.

I am very picky when it comes to eating fish because I don't eat all. Some of the fishes have a very weird sea taste that is too strong.

Meat is just perfect. My favorite kind is a simple grilled chicken file. I also eat other kinds such as minced meat, beef and occasionally pork. It has so much protein and other great things for our body and our muscles.

I am just like you! I remember, years ago, when I went to Japan and ate tons of seafood and sushi. I woke up one morning with an itching rash on my belly. My girlfriend at the time, who was Japanese, said this was a reaction from me to too much iodine in the fish. Maybe that's what turned me off? In any case, I always preferred meat more than fish, as I said in my first response here, all along.

Meat is just overall a lot easier to eat than fish is. If fish did not have so many bones in it I would probably choose fish since there is much more variety. Meat is also the main ingredient in a lot of my favorite foods like tacos, burgers, and steak. While I am a lot more open to killing fish than cows, I like the taste of beef enough where I seldom think of that.

Meat FTW

Meat all the way! It's delicious and has more benefits in my opinion. There's so many different types of meat and there are so many ways to prepare it.

Fish is alright, but I don't really like it. I don't mind eating it once in a while, but eating too much fish makes me sick. Although to be fair, I'm personally not a fan of seafood so that alone makes meat the winner for me.

There are like.. two kind of fish that I like, and with of them being Fish N Chips which is not properly fish (yes it is I know, but when you think about fish you think at something different and less.. casual, I guess). Now, with meat I have a big choice of food that I like, from chicken to turkey to beef to ham. I like some of them more than others, and there are some (very few) that I don't actually like. I'm carnivorous, sorry not sorry.

Meat For me

I was raised as a carnivore in a family that loved to grill out whenever the weather permitted. Sometimes, I think that I have eaten more food off of a grill, in the course of my young life, than I ever did from a conventional oven. I do love fried fish, hush puppies, tartar sauce, catfish, cured salmon, shrimp, you name it; however, if given the choice between a medium rare n\New York strip and a fillet of grouper, I would pick the steak every time. I know this is ingrained in me from childhood, but I love the flavor, and meat is more satisfying to my taste buds and my belly than fish.

I can say quietly (with all my strength) that I hate fish. I can't even stand the smell of it!

Meat for me is infinitely better in every way possible. I love meat dishes mainly because the taste of it's irresistible. Meat for life!

I love meat. I grew up eating meat more often than fish. It taste better for me and i feel i easily get full when i eat meat. There are more recipe that you can cook using different kinds of meat that's why i don't easily get tired of eating meat. I like beef and pork meats and i love to cook different recipe using it. I even try to learn recipe through youtube every once in awhile. In fish, i only eat few kinds of fish and mostly fried.

I'm a meat lover, especially chicken and pork. I would never ever exchanged my meat to a fish (crab would be an exception). I always like meat, I can't go on a day without even eating a piece of meat every day, that's why meats are always in my shop list.
Posted by DanoCath on 09-13-2017

Meet the Meat!

I choose to eat meat than fish. There are several dishes that meat and fish are the common main ingredients. But I always love to eat dishes with meat especially the fats of the meat. And also the tenderness of it makes me choose this one. I do have also favorite dishes were fish is the main ingredient but meat dishes overcome all of it
Posted by blank629 on 09-13-2017

I'm not that into seafood

I like fish too but I'm honestly not that into the smell so I choose meat. Out of all seafood, fish is what I can tolerate the most and sometimes I even prefer it over meat but most times I admit I like eating meat a lot more. That is slowly changing as I'm thinking of becoming a vegetarian but as of now meat gets my vote.
Posted by Wubwub on 03-18-2018

I enjoy meat.

I do not think taking fish is all that a bad choice considering the fact that it comes with much of nutrients that keep the body in good condition, but I do not think I would pass out the chance to take meat. I think what my body system is lacking now is enough roasted/cooked meat for what I have been taking all these while is fish and that has made me look more like a vegetarian. I do not spare the chance to take meat and take enough of it whenever I got the chance for I feel that is what my body is lacking now.

However, that does not mean I would totally give up on taking fish, but I would always prefer meat to fish at this stage of my life.

I need to gain weight

I find fish really tasty but I need meat now to gain more weight because I am a skinny person. I eat meat before going to the office to give me energy for the whole day. Meat has a lot of Benefits in our body like, boosting up your immune system, promotes muscle growth and improved blood circulation. Who wouldn't want these benefits right?

I love meat! It is a good source of protein which helps my body to be fit and strong. It can also be cooked in many different delicious ways that I really like. Meat is also cheaper here in our country as there are a lot of suppliers around.

Fish is the main variety of sea food. It is also a non-vegetarian option, because it does not come directly from plants. Fish are rich in proteins, which are essential for a healthy diet, especially for building and repairing muscles. They are also rich in other nutrients such as zinc, potassium, and iodine, apart from “Omega-3 fatty acids”. These acids reduce triglycerides which make a person susceptible to cardiovascular problems. These acids are also anti-inflammatory so they reduce joint pains. Studies indicate that these acids may be effective anti-depressants and may have positive outcomes for patients taking treatment for asthma, Alzheimers, ADHD, dementia, and rheumatism. Fish can be eaten raw, but it needs to be cleaned up well. It also has a low shelf life and so it needs to be processed for preserving it for long. In fact, it needs to be stored in ice as it tends to get spoiled quickly. Fish is great when it comes to appetizing recipes, but it does have the disadvantage of leaving on somewhat hungry if it is not accompanied by potatoes, vegetables or other kinds of side dishes.

? It is rich in proteins and other minerals necessary for health; ? It is one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids which are naturally good for treating many physical and psychological health conditions. ? It can be eaten raw. ? Time taken to cook fish is much less when compared to time taken to cook meat.

? It needs to be preserved in ice and salt promptly as otherwise it starts getting spoiled. ? It needs to be cleaned thoroughly by removing scales etc.

Fish is the best, it has the high omega and fish oil that everyone needs daily. Far better than consuming fish oil capsules or meats.

Fish is cheaper compare to meats. 6 pieces of fish equals one piece of chicken drumstick in price. It has less fats, more protein and easily to cook. Deep fried, steam, braise, curries, anything or any ingredients could be added to fish recipes.

I usually choose less bone fish because it would be easier for my kids to eat. Avoid getting choke. Salmon fish, white cod fish and sardines are the best.

Smells fishy.

I'm sure people are tired of reading so many of my posts that start off with "I'm a vegan, but…", however, if I currently had the option of eating either meat or fish, I would definitely go with fish. Fish just has far more benefits than meat does. For starters, the protein to fat ratio is far healthier. Fish is leaner than probably any of the leanest meats, so it's great for both people watching their weight and those looking to maintain a healthy heart. And speaking of healthy heart, fish is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids which have incredible benefits ranging from maintaining your heart, improving your mood, and improving brain function. The downside is that fish is getting less and less healthy to eat given how badly we're polluting our oceans.
Posted by Denis_P on 09-13-2017

I just love the fish. I can tell you that there are many good seafood dishes. Prawns and shrimp of different cultures are good to taste. I like mostly the fried prawns. And also some of the fish sticks. So it depends on the type of the cooking. But every possible chance I prefer the seafood. I'd surely go for that if you ask me.
Posted by overcast on 09-17-2017

Fish is more healthy for us and is best to choose from both. It is well known that the fish contain a lot of protein and vitamin D and is the best source of the omega-3 fatty acids that are very healthy for our brain.

Fish for me, thank you!

I could eat fish every day and not get tired of the food. I hardly eat meat aside from chicken every now and then. I love Salmon and I love getting fresh fish from the local fish market. I love fish soup and grilled fish and stuffed fish, rice and fish and fish burgers to name a few. I don't see how meat can compare to fish when meat makes you feel sluggish and I understand it takes days sometimes for meat to properly digest in your system. Fish is easy transit, it goes in well and comes out just as good plus it's so much healthier and deliciosa!
Posted by Joteque on 09-13-2017

Fish is better

No doubt that a human body needs every kind of food inside it to make it healthy and fit. I am not against the meat of Lamb, goat, and Buffalo as they should be taken within limits. As if taken in huge quantity it could increase your blood pressure and cause heart-related problems. This is coming from a person who has seen Eid ul Azha a week ago where people sacrifice animals and distribute the meat among relatives, friends and poor. So after the EID people eat meat for atleast a month as they freeze it in huge quantities. Thus that lead to health issues. Now I favor fish because it has omega 3 in it and that is better for health even if taken regularly. Just look at the vision of Bangalis who take fish with rice as a breakfast.

I am a fish guy

Meat is not a thing to me, I don't enjoy eating it at all. I simply cannot remember the last time I stayed and started having the urge to eat meat. It has never happened before and I am quite certain that it's not happening anytime soon.

In fact I would say that if I see huge lump of meat, I start having cold shivers. It doesn't just go well with me. Another thing I totally despise with eating meat is the after effects of that task which is picking your teeth for the smaller meat particles stuck in between the teeth.

But fish is my favorite, I just enjoy eating it and simply can't get enough of it. I enjoy fishes of all breed in any manner it's prepared, I am very satisfied with it, no complaints. Be it roasted, cooked, fried any way think able, I totally love it.

Tired of eating meat

I do love Fish especially if it's sushi, sashimi or even just fried or with soup. Fish is so healthy and comes with minerals and proteins that our body needs. They're so tasty and cheaper to have than meat. I always craving for sushi and sashimi as I always pick them in every buffet that I went. They're packed with flavors and so smooth to eat and I super love the taste and the freshness of it. I'm sick and tired of eating meat as we always have it every single day.

Fishes are good for the heart

I like red meat as well but between the two, I would choose fish because they are good for the heart. Recipes of fish with less oil are very delicious. We could even eat them raw in sushi. They give more than enough nutrients in the body with less cholesterol and less heart attack risk.

Fish is much better for you and should be a part of your diet. I prefer chicken but if I had to choose between meat or fish I would have to choose meat. I do like extra lean beef as well as pork. I don't eat much other meat. I would never even dream of eating horse. Meat is best cooked on the grill. I eat fish at least twice a week.
Posted by Sue on 09-12-2017
It looks like you are also a meat eater like us. In our home, we have meat about 5 times in a week and sometimes even more. The main reason is the cost of food that meat is cheap aside from delicious over fish and vegetables. But we are trying to put more fish in our diet that we now eat fish twice a week. Vegetables are like trimmings in our food that we usually have it with meat.

I think overall, fish is much healthier flesh to put into your body. However, meat provides the protein I need right now to gain muscle. For that reason, I'm going with meat because it works with my current dietary scenario. I do love fish though! Especially fresh cut salmon over a bed of yellow rice and lemon. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Fish is a better option than meat.I was taught this by my granny as a child, when I used to prefer meat than fish.As a nutritionist, we educated me on the benefits of eating fish just as listed above and since then till now, I have not relented in eating more of fish than meat. The chemical composition of fish gives one a shiny and healthy skin.if one has been fighting with dry skin, all that you need do is to eat more fish.

I just love the taste of meat and it is something I grew up on so that is my strong preference. I had some fish a couple of days ago, and I do try to eat it at least once a week because I know that is the preferred method of eating. I also like vegetarian foods and eat them regularly as well.

Well this is a pretty easy choice for me considering that I don't like fish at all so it feels wrong to vote, I guess just people who like both should chose which one they like better. Fish has a certain smell that i never liked, on the other hand meat is, well it's amazing.

I like fish because fish is the only food that directly supplies large amounts of the omega-3 fatty acids that have been shown to cut the risk of heart attack and stroke. It has significantly less saturated fat Saturated fat increases your chances of getting heart disease. Eating fish is an important source of omega-3 fatty acids. These essential nutrients keep the heart healthy. Eating at least two serves of fish per week reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke by reducing blood clots and inflammation. I eat meat once a weak but usually eat fish than meat.

Yes, fish is delicious for vegetarian. but in my case, I like to eat fish. because of the protein present in those food. Also in presence of fish signify of good health according to our tradition. It has low-level of cholesterol which cause of blockage blood flow throughout our body. Imagine our body has a better nutrition, and it can protect from any diseases which is a better of avoid that cure.

I'm really agree with you such matter. When we eat fish, it has a lot of benefits to us. Sometimes I'm confuse to the fact, when people prefer eat so much meat, end up dying. We are responsible to our own health, or we end ourselves dead. Maybe it's our obligations to one another to keep telling ourselves to stop eating unhealthy foods.
Posted by jaysolano12 on 09-12-2017
I prefer both, because it has a nutrition value to sustain health, for body. It should balance, the diet of a person to have resistance against any diseases. It is a classic idea when you using proper schedule, for your body needs. I don't really give such an approach of choosing to eat. Because our need some medical care, and it is our duty to provide something for it.

I don't usually eat meat, because in my own opinion, it's unhealthy. I love eating fish, or eating it, as raw. Usually people prefer to eat meat, because it's a common to the people to make it, as traditional food. Maybe in some cases, like the people who have health issues should only proper diet.

I love meat but for my daily diet i would love to go for fish, fish is very healthy in our body it can make us strong no side effects on eating to much fish. also i currently stop eating meat because it builds up fats in my body instead i eat a lot of fish to have protein for muscles. and lastly my mother is good at cooking fish in any kind of type of fish menu she knows.
Posted by tophew on 09-12-2017
I have to go with meat although I do like some fish too. I find that chicken, pork, and beef are more filling. I like fried fish and only certain types of fish. I like the fish to be flaky and a little on the dry or firm side like cod. We used to catch trout and a few other types of fish and fry them up. I loved them but give me a nice juicy steak or cheeseburger and I will pass up on the fish. I love to grill meat whenever we get a chance. I guess I am just more used to eating meat rather than fish.
Posted by morgoodie on 09-12-2017
I'm a vegetarian and have been for fourteen years so I don't eat either. But I occasionally find myself missing the taste of fish and chicken. I've been lucky enough to find a good veggie substitute for most meat dishes though.
Posted by anna on 09-13-2017
We are meat eaters in our home so you can imagine my disappointment when the doctor advised me to refrain from eating meat. Fish, vegetables and fruits will be my diet for 2 months. The issue is my high blood pressure that is hovering at 150/90 and sometimes 150/100 which is alarming. I'd say eat fish for the sake of your health but if you are not sick then you can eat meat once in a while. Again, moderation is the key to everything. Maybe eating fish at least 5 times a week and eating meat at the most once a week will be a good measure for me for the meantime.
Posted by Corzhens on 09-13-2017
Well I don't prefer which one to choose on a particular day but I'd always go for chunks of meats of pork and chicken. Got trouble with my joints these days whenever I eat beef meats. But I do love to eat meat though rather than fish as most of the time I got tired of taste of fish even with soy sauce or other condiments available. Although I admit its much healthier to eat rather than mostly meat.

I eat both but fish and sea food are plenty in our area so mostly we have fresh fish and seafoods. I mostly eat fish and seafoods and I have a lot of kind of fish to choose from and what's good is it's always fresh from the sea. I know not everyone can have fresh seafoods in their table because not everyone live near the sea and we are so lucky to live here. The fresh fish taste different and more tasty.

I like fish but I like meat more. Though, I choose meats that are without fats. Chickens should be without skin. As to cooked pork, I remove the fat. But because it is said that meats specially red meats can cause cancer, it is said that we should eat meat 3 times a week and that will be pork or beef. I separate chicken from my choice of meat , because at least it's not fatty when the skin is taken out so, I eat it also about 3 times a week. But as to pork and beef I eat them only 2 times a week. In between will be fish dishes. And for every meal, to partner the meat dishes are veggies.

I don't get to eat it that often because my mother is pretty allergic to all seafood in general so she can not cook it, smell it or eat it without getting all swollen and red. Also I don't eat it that often because it can be pretty expensive, I guess fish it's expensive almost everywhere in the world. I think it's super healthy and you don't get that sensation of being sooo full like when you eat meat. It's easy to digest too.

Fish because it's healthier than meat. Meat is hard to digest unlike fish. FIsh is a good source of omega fatty acid that is good for the heart while the fat of meat leads to too many cardiovascular diseases.

I don't really like fish all that much. It really confuses me how so many people like seafood, but I suppose the same can be said for when I eat meat and how it must look to those who just eat vegetables, so I guess I do kind of understand. However, that still doesn't mean I will like fish any more than I do now. I still find the smell and taste of it kind of off, and even though I can eat some types of fish and even prefer some fish dishes sometimes, I still wouldn't consider it my favorite, and I would probably almost always choose meat over it if I had the choice.

Both. I might be in the mood for meat or I might be in the mood for fish. Either one will suit me at different times. It also matters what I'm having with it. Certain side dishes go better with meat. Others work better with fish. Also, am I cooking or going out for dinner? Where I'm eating will also play a role in the decision of which to choose.

Meat is very rich in protein. It also offers excellent levels of phosphate and amino acids that are not found in plant proteins. Vegetarians apologize, but vegetable protein is not enough to increase strength and maintain good muscle performance.

  • Red meat is rich in myoglobin, which promotes the transport of oxygen to muscle cells. It allows for more intense exercise, gives greater mental clarity and a sense of well-being, as it also acts as an antidepressant.

  • It is found in meat conjugated linoleic acid, known as CLA, which helps to lose weight, promotes fat burning and even increases the body's defenses against cancer.
