Meltdown and Spectre bugs affecting Apple and Android devices,
Bugs known as Meltdown and Spectre have invaded the Intel Processor which is found in most computers and cell phones. Apple, Microsoft and Google are up in arms to find a way to stop hackers exploiting the situation that can result in them robbing sensitive date from every computer and cell phone Are you affected already or are you using patches that Apple, Microsoft and Google are working on?

This is a serious case that needs attention to put a stop to and that makes me worried already. The issue with this kind of hacking is that things might not get better, if something is not done immediately. I've not been affected at the moment, but it looks scary that such thing is happening.

I am also alarmed whenever I would read a news report about a new virus or a hacking incident because I am ignorant of such things that I don’t know what will happen if my computer will be hacked or will be hit by a deadly virus. When I read about the “ransomware” virus that holds your computer hostage I was really scared. The perpetrator would give the password to unlock the hard disk only after the owner had paid the demanded ransom. That is like a real ransom for kidnapping.

I'm not concerned about it. These types of attackers mostly find their way into peoples PC's through mishandling or opening of an attachment or rogue/suspicious email. Just be extra cautious and you'll be fine.

I have heard about this. They said keeping your devices updated is one of the best ways that you can ward off the virus. It is just one of the ways you can help to protect yourself. Of course you need to have an up to date anti virus.. THis is one of the options that you can get the types of choices you need

I use an antivirus app for my phone. I can't claim it protects my device 100? because I surf the web daily. Scanning my device once a day is enough to keep my conscience clear. I also avoid accessing personal sensitive accounts when using public computers.

I think lot of those bugs are designed intentionally. So that people can find slow downed device and then go for buying new one. And that way the device marketers can have more sales. That seems to be the way Apple is doing the work. I think that's really bad strategy.

I have never heard of Meltdown and Spectre, but I have heard of similar bugs in the past. I was not affected back then. However, this does not mean I am safe this time. As long as we use internet, our devices are prone to such bugs.

To be honest, I had read the literature and the news of that Meltdown and Spectre bugs more than 2 times but still I couldn’t understand. What I got was the idea that all computers are vulnerable to such viruses if they are really viruses. And it’s all because of the architecture of the hardware, be it a Mac or a PC. But with the Meltdown and Spectre, I couldn’t understand how they can attack the computer and what are the effects.

It is a serious challenge to the computer users but i believe the computer software engineers will finally get a solution to stop computers from being affected by the bugs.

Well its actually not a virus but an opening which a virus or a malware can penetrate within the system. Actually the people who identified this problem are mostly the persons who designed the system. Although they try to keep it in hiding, obviously its out in the open now.

This is the main reason to update your applications and operating systems. Once they issue a fix to a malicious outbreak, you have to be prompt and update at once. This will save you from the headaches that these kinds of attacks will give you. They might steal precious data and/or hijack your files. Stay updated, stay safe.
