My greatest skill (past or current)?

My greatest skill (past or current)?
Every human being is good at something. Some know how to sing well, others are skilled in math or sports. Each person has a skill in some area. I particularly consider myself to be computer savvy. But and you? What is your greatest skill (past or current)?

I think it is that I'm self-taught in English. I've been learning since I was around 12 years old. I got myself an English-Spanish dictionary and started to translate song lyrics for fun. I did great on this subject in high school. Even my teacher thought I was doing a course to learn. Now, I don't have major issues to write or speak English. Is not perfect as I wish, but it is enough to hold good communication.

Very interesting! I also love studying English on my own. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

English is our second language but I cannot say I am self-taught. Maybe you had many English-speaking childhood friends and that is what made you learn the language. It’s unfortunate for the school children of today because the government had scrapped English as the medium of teaching. Teachers now talk in our language and seldom do the school children hear English in the classroom.

My greatest skill is my ability to learn from my mistakes. I have made a lot of mistakes in my life but I can safely say that most of them did not repeat themselves. I tend to be thick skulled at first but once I learn I learn for good. I think this is very hard skills to come by. I have met more than one person stuck committing the same mistakes over and over again.

I also have this kind of ability, especially when relating to people. I think the best evolution is simply to learn from your own mistakes. Thank you for sharing this with us.

It's important man. I mean you can be good in many things in life but I have been decently good at anything I tried (I have never been an expert in anything but still) because I learned from my mistakes. Every negative has a positive side

I'm good in drawing and painting before and I just don't know what happened and I lost my interest in it and my work is not as good as before. Now I'm into DIY craft now and I enjoy it a lot. I like to learn new things specially in art. My skill can be applying my creativity in anything I do.
Posted by rose thornes on 08-03-2017
I also always had an interest in drawing, but the day-to-day running made me leave that skill aside. Today I also like things that involves DIY. I have already built many things in my house thanks to this ability. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

I am really good at analyzing. I can understand principles and concepts really fast, and I'm able to provide accurate insight on most things I decide to work on. I'm glad I have this skill, because I'm rather useless on other fields and areas!

I also learnt english on my own, and I work everyday to try an improve it until I can be considered completely fluent.

I was good at drawing and sketching. I have not done anything for that skill. So I am working harder on it. I hope to do something about it in near future. I wish to do some drawing and other projects. And hopefully it does end up helping me on many other ways. I wish to use sketching projects and add patreon for that. So far there is not much progress for the same. I wonder how other people do it.

I have always been praised for my problem solving and analytical skills. At my previous job I was working as a complaints assistant. I had to resolve loads of complaints on a daily basis and ensure that complaints are resolved within 24 hours. Very often I was able to achieve all my targets. I was promoted to take a team leader role and this was due to my communication, customer service and problem solving skills.

This is a skill I would like to have in my life. I'm really not good at dealing with conflicts. I admire people like you. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

I am not a great writer, but only skill that my only skill that I consider having any value is writing. I am also not a great programer, however, I am self learned programer and I consider my programing skills to have a good value for myself. I also have designing skills, but it does not have any value.

I also work as a freelance writer just over 3 years ago. It really is a task that requires certain skill. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

Even if I don't agree with them sometime, many people always told me that I'm good at writing. I know that from some of my posts it doesn't seems like I'm the greatest writer ever, but as I said... I don't really agree with them. I do enjoy it, anyway, and when I was younger I used to wrote short stories about a lot of stuff. Growing up I kind of stopped, but on Facebook from time to time I wrote lengty posts that nobody read but everybody praises, and for a while I kept a blog that had some people intrigued. Maybe it's just the way I write, by throwing everything on paper (or screen) without ever thinking. Spontaneity might be appreciated.

I am good at designing things. I work as a graphic designer at a small printing company. I love the challenge of designing logos for various companies. I also do a lot of design work for posters and flyers. I have been doing it for many years so I have a lot of experience at it. It is something that I really enjoy and have a passion for.

If you call "shopping" a skill then that would be my #1 skill. I am a very good shopper (deals, brands, you name it!).
Posted by simplym on 08-06-2017
Yes! I consider this a skill. You can be skillful in finding best prices and best deals. This really is something I admire. Thank you for sharing your opinion with us!

I have the ability to work under pressure and to multitask, thanks to my experience as a cashier in Mcdonald's. I only used to work there as a part-timer because I was also a college student by the time. The fast food branch was placed in front of a famous school here. Think about the number of people that visit the restaurant everyday, durng mornings and lunch breaks.

Being multitasking and working under pressure are two skills that I admire a lot. I always wondered how those Mc guys got to work every day with all that excitement. This really is very incredible. Thanks for sharing your opinion.

My greatest skill is to be composed under high-pressure situations. I felt that working part-time as a kid made me to be alert and react well. I also became more patient and able to deal with difficult people.

That sounds really incredible to me. You have skills I wish I had. Congratulations and thank you for sharing this with us!

I feel blessed to have many different types of skills... writing, crafting, teaching, creativity. I think my greatest skill, or at least the one I cherish the most, is my creativity. When I look at something, I don't just see what is there... I see the possibility of what it could be. I love making things and have many different avenues for doing such. I sew, crochet, scrapbook, quilt, write, draw, paint, and other things. I love creating things! One day I might be making a costume for a themed party we are going to, while another day I might work on scrapbooking (as I also love doing photography). On a sunny summer afternoon I could be creating a fun sculpture for the garden, but on a winter day I might be tucked cozy on the couch crocheting a scarf or sweater. I almost always give handmade presents and in the past I've also sold some of my created items online and in person. I'm always looking for something new to try creating and I feel like it's part of the spice of my life.

That is a pretty long list of skills. Good to have creativity. It leads you to do a lot of different stuff. I wish I was good at arts and craft but I do not have a natural talent.

You really seem to be a very skillful person. I hope you have a promising future with all those skills. Thank you for sharing this with us!

I think that my greatest skill is picking up and learning languages extremely fast. I can speak over 5 languages right now and still learning more... I don't know why but it takes me almost no time to understand how a certain language works. Once I figure out the basics and the grammatical rules, I find other languages that are similar and apply it to them. It's hard to explain but my brain functions weirdly. I just see things that normal people don't which makes it easier to learn. I learned Italian for my university course so fluently that the teacher couldn't believe that I had no prior knowledge.
Posted by Mehano on 08-12-2017
5 languages? Wow! This really is extraordinary. I would very much like to have this ability!
Posted by hermessantos on 08-13-2017
I really admire those people who can pick up languages easily. I find having knowledge of several knowledge to be pretty useful as you can work in any industry. Are you working as a translator or putting your skills at work?

My greatest skill, I think is, knowing how to cook a lot of dishes! I learn it myself and it's just overwhelming when people recognized your cooking as an exceptional talent! I would love to learn more and maybe open a small restaurant in the future.

I got lots of things I'm really good at doing it although I do have lots of things also that I'm not really good at. Guess you can call me the jack of all trades as they say. But mostly I'm quite really good on solving some computer problems that most people here in the office can't do. Troubleshooting, repair and networking, and other program related problems at the office are what I often do whenever someone calls for my help. I don't ask for fee though as I'm employed in our boss's son's business and our offices are near with each other.

I have two skills that I'm really good at, one is active skill in playing football and the second is dull skill in making beads (Necklace, Earings and bracelets). Now football is one thing I seriously don't joke with, as much as enjoy watching it, I also play well to a very good extent. It's only that I didn't want football to be my profession, if not I would have gone very far in the field.

Now my second skill in beading is actually a vacational skill that I learnt in order to keep up with making some money to take care of my needs. I can make a good quality necklace with beads of different colors, earings and bracelets as well. All these fetch me a reasonable sum of money that can a very long way in helping me to meet my needs.

If there was a feature for me to upload some pictures of my work, I would have done that, so that most of you guys here would app my work.

My greatest skill will probably be my in-depth knowledge on handling and understanding the basics of how to use or fix computers software and hardware. I'm quite an addict in terms of staying in front of the computer and whenever I've faced some problems be it from my own computer or problems of others that they find it difficult to solve, I'm always the go to guy on fixing a basic computer problem mostly people with less knowledge on computers can't handle. I've come across a lot of persons who are unable to solve a problem they currently experiencing even the basic ones. Although mostly, I've google ways to solve it but these kinds of people do have little patience just to read and understand a simple problem.

My greatest skill is to walk in with no skill at all and start improvising, and after awhile I start to give lessons to those who have been there for years, It has nothing to do with intelligence or talent, rather a pragmatic way of thinking.
Posted by joey98 on 10-21-2017
I cannot think of an artistic talent or skill that I have. Maybe what can be considered my greatest skill is handling people. I have the leadership abilities that one time there were 95 people in my department handling the operations that involves converting computer systems for banking use. It is not an easy work and I was cited several times for my leadership qualities related to the success of those conversion projects.

I think my greatest skill is cooking. I know close to anyone can cook with a little instruction, but I am simply at my best when cooking. I don't consider myself a creative. When cooking I come up with all sorts of recipes. When I watch a receipe on Youtube I create having only watched it once. I can also modify it and make it into a whole new culinary experience. I also love the process of cooking which most people don't like. The problem with this skill is that I can't make much out of it in my Country. Most people like fast food and the fast food restaurants are booming, so for now cooking remains a hobby.

I have a few skills in the arts like drawing and making music but neither that I would consider my best or even close to being great. I'd say my best skill would probably be my thought process and logic as I think it is where I am most capable as I also like to learn about behavior and social science. I wouldn't call myself an expert, but among my many skills I'd say it's probably my best one.
