Sony’s PlayStation is a very popular gaming console. It is in the fifth generation, with MIPS R3000A (family R3051) CPU capable of 33.8688 MHz speed. The video games that can be played on it are available on PlayStation network. Both DVD as well as downloadable media files can be played using this gaming console. In all, 8 controller inputs, whether wired or wireless are possible on this console. Basically, PlayStation facilitates online games, and multi-platform games. Both controls and graphics on this gaming console are superior. More games are available for this gaming console because third party games can be played on it. However such games are quite expensive. Moreover, these games are not suitable for everybody, such as due to violence. PlayStation does not boast of motion sensing capabilities though succeeding versions do. One can use the PlayStation VR in conjunction with it, to make gaming even more realistic and fun.

? There is more choice of third party games for PlayStation; ? The console offers considerably superior controls, and graphics.

? Many games created for this gaming console are violent, making it suitable for boys of some age group rather than for entire family; ? Most games are single player. ? Motion sensing capabilities were missing in the first version, and were added externally, i.e., people had to buy the PlayStation Connect feature.

Playstation all the way.

Although i really like how innovating Nintendo is, the kind of video games portrayed in Playstation are always my kind of stuff. And not only that, the console design, the classic controller and almost every feature is like created just for me to enjoy. With this i do not intend to say that Nintendo is inferior or in this specific case, the Nintendo Wii, i just express what i consider the best in a very personal opinion. The wiimote seems like a lot of fun but i prefer the classic one offered by Playstation.

PS 24/7/365

Oh come on there's no comparison! A PS is 100x better than a Wii! Although, that said, there are some games that are fun and cool to play on the Wii that are unique to the Wii that you can't find on the PS. However, the PS has much better graphics and many, many more games to play. Plus, I have many of my friends and buddies on the PSN network than I do on the Wii. I got a Wii a couple years back. I only really played it a few times and then just put it in the drawer and haven't touched it since! But if I had to choose between the two, if I could only ever play one of them again, then of course I would choose the PS all day, all week, all month, all year.. 24/7/365! :D

You're referring to the Playstation 3 right? That's the console that was in direct competition with the Wii. Though the Wii had a lot of unique and fun games, most of them were not deep enough. I felt that a lot of them were pretty short or shallow or aimed at kids, thus being over simplified.

The Playstation 3 offered a more diverse library of games across different genres. A lot of third party developers also supported the PS 3 because of the strong hardware. There was no shortage of great games to be played.

Also, a lot of Wii games were designed for offline multilayer. I'm more of the solo type of guy so I prefer the PS 3.

I've always said that given the opportunity to have a console, I'd certainly be a Playstation person. I've always liked the PS systems since I owned a PS2 while I was in grade school. Anymore, I think I'm far more interested in Playstation exclusive games. Mario and all that jazz is cool, but it's never been a necessity for me gaming-wise.

I have a heavy interest in eventually playing the Uncharted series, Until Dawn, The Last of Us, and Horizon: Zero Dawn, which is the driving force behind my desire to have a Playstation currently.

Posted by TheArticulate on 08-12-2017

I actually have both consoles. Wii and Ps4 and without a single doubt the PlayStation is far superior.

It doesn't only have far better graphics, it has unbelievably good exclusives games such as The Last of Us, Bloodborne, The Horizon Zero Dawn and more.

There are also more games that you can play on the PlayStation. The controller is absolutely prefect and lightweight. The whole console is very responsive and has really cool features like shared gaming and streaming.

Wii doesn't come anywhere close to the PlayStation.

Personally, I don't feel this is a fair comparison of consoles. To elaborate, I liked the Wii for a moment. Never actually owned one myself but played on many different consoles with friends. When it comes to gaming history, however, my relationship with PlayStation is much more detailed. My first Sony console was the PS2. To date, it's probably still my favorite console simply because of all the memorable games that came out during that period. I also loved the PS3, but didn't buy one. The PS4 is also good, but at this point, I still prefer PC gaming altogether. The moral of the story is you can't beat PlayStation in this matchup!

Is this even a debate? Wii can't hold a candle to PlayStation in any manner, shape or form. PlayStation has better games, graphics, and more flexibility than Wii does. The only thing I may argue that Wii has that is better than the PlayStation is maybe the input method. I just much prefer a PlayStation to a Wii overall. These two things aren't even comparable maybe something like PlayStation to Xbox or something would be a bit more suitable.

I prefer PlayStation

Playstation is certainly much better than Nintendo. I know some good Nintendo games, but there is no way to compare the superior quality of the Playstation.

Love the PS2

I have a PS2 playstation. It was cheaper than the Xbox when I bought it. There are tons of pirated CD games that are sold in the market. So, don't have to worry about buying original ones. I could download the PS2 game too but not all of them work after burning into CD.

The PS2 is simply a fun game for 2 players with the gamepad. Very challenging game but the only problem is the machine might not be able to read if not place on flat surface.

I was a nintendo user but when I was given a chance to use a PlayStation, I was convinced. It was the best console that I ever hand used. Even today, I still prefer PlayStation then other brands.
Posted by Neiltarquin on 08-13-2017
Why do you prefer Playstation over other brands? Is the usability, the features the Playstation offers (like playing Blu-Ray discs), or maybe the exclusive content that developers make for the console? It'd be nice to hear your rationale as to why you vote one way or another, if you don't mind!

PS is Evolving

They are coming up with new console. And they seem to be ahead of their game. And they are adding the RAM and GPU. So they can adjust with almost every game needs out there. You can see that it's not easy to get into gaming box without seeing what PS range has to offer. Compared to Nintendo, you can find more from the PS.

I play games mostly on my PlayStation nowadays. I got my first PlayStation a PS2 in 2002 and ever since I have been addicted to gaming. I used to save my pocket money at that time just to buy new games. I have a PS3 nowadays and this is the console that I use the most.

PlayStation for the win!

PlayStation has better features, the exclusives are the best out there and the interface is really nice, the console has aged well and there are still game developers who dedicate to the creations for games on the PS3
Posted by StolenKid on 08-14-2017

Simply Playstation

I think that PlayStation is the superior choice here no doubts. Technically speaking it is superior in every aspect. Graphics, processing, memory. Also, the exclusives are better and more oriented to the adult public. For me, it's a no-brainer really.
Posted by Marvadaum on 08-13-2017

I love Playstation as a whole, and that includes every console and handheld gaming devices. Although Wii has provided new games, I think the Playstation2 was the pinnacle of gaming when many game developers had entered the competition into providing the best game for players. Because of it many games were released which would also then have sequels in the next console of Playstation.

PlayStation is almost the same like Xbox by Microsoft which is my favourite. When creativity, money and time are dedicated to a particular product during the production process, it will be an excellent one for consumers to go for.To me, Nintendo channels their effort to target the children market which make it so simple and intuitive, I think it's one of the factors that makes it cheap. And one thing that Nintendo Wii lacks is a third party assistance and this is a powerful factor for unlimited assistance & creativity to a product but it was single handily done by them. Big companies like Facebook knows the importance of this factor ( that they can't run it alone) that's why they open their API for every developer around the world. PlayStation is popular for its awesome graphics, multiplayer, interesting and mature games.

No comparison what so ever

There is no comparison between the two gaming consoles. PlayStation was always ahead except when Nintendo used to release the Gameboy,3Ds, and Gamecube. When the PS1 was released it started capturing SEGA and Nintendo's market but Nintendo thought that they could beat Sony by the hardware and 8-bit games which weren't the best thing back in 2000. Now after years of stupidity that Nintendo is back on track with "SWITCH" their newest console which has some amazing exclusives.

Comparing PS as a whole to Nintendo Wii is a bit too much, there isn't a single console out that can compare to PS2, which is possibly the best console to have come out, not cause of the graphics or anything like that, but the wide variety of games that have left a lot of memories in the people who have played them. Even the most popular series such as: Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank and so on are enough to put PS on the top.
Posted by manmad on 08-15-2017

Of course PS consoles

I've never liked Nintendo console. They have bad resolutions, the controllers are weird and the games are boring (personal opinion). I loved PS1 and PS2 because the games were funnier and PS consoles always have had better resolutions than Nintendo consoles. Most of the Nintendo video games are multiplayer mode and they are more enjoyable if you play it with other but, I like to play alone so, I prefer games that you depend on another person to enjoy it.
Posted by cubo on 08-16-2017

I don't really know why there needs to be a comparison as we all know both consoles are very different in a lot of ways. But since we're at it I'm gonna go with the PlayStation 4 as the offered is more of my type.
Posted by MichaelSoriano15 on 08-16-2017

Unfair Comparison

I've been a Playstation fan since I was a little kid. I had the original Playstation, and seeing the evolution from the console, they have came a long way. I played on the Wii before it's okay as far as you get to move around, but if you're careless with the controller you can end up destroying your TV. Playstation has far more better graphics and games to truly experience what they have to offer.

You can purchase games on the console that you can't do with the Wii. The Playstation is hands down the best! That's why this is an unfair comparison.

Posted by tmccoy on 08-18-2017

I'll go for playstation at this time. It is a classic console and this console is one of my favorite especially the family playstation when I was a kid. Also in playstation, you can play more games than wii. And I am more comfortable playing it especially with my brother or with my friends.

Nintendo Wii

Nintendo Wii
Another popular gaming console is the Wii. Wii is synonymous with Nintendo because it is manufactured and developed by Nintendo. It houses “IBM PowerPC-based Broadway" CPU. The video games that can be played on this gaming console can be downloaded from “Nintendo Wi-Fi connection”, “Wii Shop Channel” and “Wii Connect24”. This console comes with controller inputs such as Wii “Balance Board”, Wii Remote, “Nintendo GameCube controller”, and “Wii Classic Controller Pro”. This seventh generation console also comes with motion sensing peripherals, starting with the Wii Remote which can be used with up to 4 controllers, Wii MotionPlus, which is merged into Wii Remote Plus, and the Nunchuk attachment “Sensor Bar. Therefore, Wii is good for playing gesture based games such as “Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess”, and “Prince of Persia: The forgotten Sands” and the good old Wii Play and Wii Sports. Sony as well as Microsoft added gesture based features to their respective consoles, but people have to pay more for PlayStation connect, and Xbox’s Kinect. Wii is ideal for multiplayer games and a great family gaming console.

? Wii is a pioneer in video gaming console technology, with many features that were refined later; ? The games for this gaming console are developed without third party assistance, making them quite affordable. ? The device also comes with the intuitive gesture based feature at no extra cost ? The games for this console can be played with anybody.

? The choice of games is a bit limited; ? Graphics and controls need to be refined;

Wii is tops.

I like Wii cause it has Mario related games and Donkey Kong. Enough said there. However, though, I haven't really played enough of Playstation to say much about it, but I do know it doesn't have Mario, so that's enough reason to favor Wii.

I have not gamed in either gaming device in a while. I do like Playstation back in the day but I like the wii games especially like wii tennis.
Posted by simplym on 08-12-2017
Isn't this kind of a weird comparison to be making? For starters, what PlayStation do you mean? Do you mean the most recent console, PlayStation 4? If so, how can you even compare it to the Nintendo Wii when the PlayStation 4 is a current generation console while the Wii is practically two generations back? A more adequate comparison would be comparing a PlayStation 4 and a Nintendo Switch. If you mean PlayStation consoles as a whole, then I don't understand how you can compare an entire series to one console. I don't mean to sound aggressive, it's just a strange versus to me.

I wouldn't vote because I haven't actually played the Nintendo Wii. On the other hand, I have played PlaStation countless of times specially during my childhood days. Nintendo Wii, however, has a mix of positive and negative reviews. Would really love to try one out if I get the chance.
Posted by galegatling on 08-15-2017
I prefer having a PlayStation since the games offered on the console suit my tastes. I have played a Wii and found it to be very limited when compared against PlayStation.
Posted by fishmonk on 08-18-2017
I think Nintendo is mostly only fun during parties where you have lots of other people to play with as it is a good console to keep many people entertained. Playstation is probably geared more towards the player that wants to play regularly and has fun just playing alone. I have played on both consoles and I enjoyed playing alone on a PS4 a lot more than I did playing alone on a Wii. However, during parties, games on Wii or other consoles like it really are unrivaled, since they have lots of novelty games that are easy to pick up and understand by almost anyone, and additionally a lot of them are multiplayer and can be played by even more than just two people, whereas PS4 games are mostly only online multiplayer if they are even multiplayer at all which is already becoming rare on its own. I would still side more with PS4 though just because the games there still appeal to me a lot more and I find that the novelty of Wii games wear off too fast for me.

I go for PlayStation any day any day.So much games in there though it has more violent games I don't mind because it still enjoyable that way.

I am really amused with people who buy play station and game consoles. They spend money for that which is not really an investment at all. With that kind of equipment or gadget that they spend on, it is very clear that gaming is a big industry and that there are serious gamers who are willing to buy expensive gadgets. Where is the world going to when all of us are playing? Who will prepare our food, who will do the laundry?
