Professional Wrestling is FAKE!

Professional Wrestling is FAKE!
As a life long wrestling fan I have heard this statement many times that I have learned to accept it as a normal response when i bring wrestling up. We know that the competition in the ring is not real, we know that it is scripted and matches are predetermined. We love it because of the technicality in the ring, the physicality and athleticism displayed. We wrestling fans love it for the engaging story lines, the drama, the beautiful and dedicated wrestlers. We suspend our disbelief while watching it just like people suspend their disbelief while watching movies and various TV series. The pain and sacrifices the performers make are very real, the injuries are real. It is not fake, it is entertainment same as movies. For wrestling fans out there, do you get irked when wrestling is called fake?

I don't know about the others, but I was sure myself that I grew up thinking that professional wrestling is fake. I actually eard that from my friends in school but they still enjoyed talking about it. Lol.

Yeah lot of people enjoy knowing that it is fake. The reason being the important point that it's a drama. And nobody can do that in regular fights. It;s what makes it funny in unique way.

Also, another thing, when I was still young, I find it weird seeing the fighters talking to their opponents like they are having a dramatic conversation. That, alone, made me think that the wrestling on TV is just for show.

Is professional wrestling fake? In my own opinion professional wrestling is not exactly fake yes the fight is scripted and the winner is predetermined before the actual bout but the actual stunt that they display during the fight is real as can be. Professional Wrestling is not a combat or competitive sport it is considered as a sports entertainment.

Well its purpose is to entertain people. They want the people to be able to enjoy what the wrestlers are doing and that is fighting and making a story out of the fighting they are doing. You have to understand that wrestling has a certain attire and it is a sport that is placed in a mat not in a ring. If you want real stuff then I suggest MMA, UFC and boxing.

Not all fight is fake but there are some that I noticed that it was indeed fake. It is easy to notice if the fight is fake or not. Obviously, some of the fights want to keep the show going and to make more people watch their fight so they act as if there would be a rematch or sequel of their fight.

I'm not really a fan of wrestling so I don't know if its fake or not. One things for sure, they are there to entertain the viewers.

I think it's more of it being scripted but the stunts and some of the injuries are real. Of course it's all scripted, even the stunts might be scripted as well. Even the props probably are fakes. But the injuries those entertainers go through are real. Well some of it I think.

Yes, professional wrestling is fake. Most of the moves are pre determined and the story of the match is decided in advance as to who would win the match and after how much time. The referee is also involved in all this. It is only to entertain us people.

Yeah I think it is considering wrestling should be watched for entertainment and a lot of those wrestlers get paid more when they do fake matches than real ones.

Indeed the professional WWE performers are fake. And the thing wrestling the pay is good. So people do act in it. They can just show the drama. And get people engaged. And on that note. i'd say that they have managed to put on some show.

When I was a child I was also amused with pro wrestling. That was the favorite tv show of my brothers. It was disgusting to learn that the acts of the wrestlers were not really fake but scripted. That means wrestling is not a sport but an entertainment because it is like a movie with a script that the quarrels were not real although the stunts were for real and also harmful and risky to the wrestlers.

I used to believe that professional wrestling is true, ever since I was a kid. But many people say that what the wrestlers do in the ring is not real at all. All wrestling shows are fake and scripted. Well, today I believe that all shows being aired to television is just fake and scripted and for wrestling shows I think it is one of those. Therefore, I do not believe that it is real anymore. No one can endure such pain after someone jumped on you or any stunts.

Yes it is fake. It is scripted and of course, they do it for entertainment not to kill or make harm to people because it is not ethical and its a sin. Though some wrestling episodes are unpredictable that accident might happened. They are well trained to do it so they might avoid major injury to other.

Therefore, it is just for entertaining people.

Of course it is. People who says something like this doesn't really know how it works. It is for entertainment purposes only and everyone knows that and still tune in to watch it because it's entertaining and fun to watch but if you're talking about wrestling in general wrestling is a legit combat sport that includes grappling and that's not fake it's real.

Yep, I am talking about professional wrestling like companies such as WWE, NJPW, ROH, etc. It is entertaining and it is really also fun to fantasy book the shows, there are specific forums just for that. Wrestling is like a soap opera but with more action, you cannot become a successful wrestler if you don't know how to act. By the way, many professional wrestlers came from a collegiate wrestling background.

Professional Wresting is Fake: I also heard it many times that the professional wresting is fake in where what they are acting in the ring was a scripted one and I do believed it also the knowledge and technique that what we see in ring is definitely true. They really have those talent and skills, therefore professional wresting is not at all.

I thought it's common knowledge that professional wrestling is actually fake and that's a reason people can truly enjoy it. Their unnatural , totally unrealistic ways of fighting are actually what this is all about. Pure spectate and enjoy the stories behind the fights. It's another kind of acting performance.

It’s a live performing art. It’s both scripted and improvized . It has drama, athleticism, and humor (eh, kinda). It’s a niche form of theater that has been around longer than the big four sports in America. At this point watching wrestling is something parents and grandparents pass on to kids.

I think it is fake too. My father used to tell me it is fake and after watching it, it really does seem fake. Observing their moves and reactions, it doesn't work too well. It is either they are over reacting or it is just too obvious that the move wasn't true enough.

I have heard of that statement a thousand or a million times before but whether professional wrestling is fake or not I really don't care. What's really matters to me is the joy and excitement they give to me. I really love wrestling not because of its reality but because of the entertainment they bring to us. I grew up watching them and until now I am happy to see some of them.

The thing is that the injuries that they sustain in the course of wrestling is always real. Yeah, it may be fixed before the bout is kicked, but it doesn't mean that everything that happens in the ring is fake as well. I have had plentiful fun watching wrestling matches.

In the past, the wrestling matches we watch on TV weren't called entertainment. Many assumed that it's how professional wrestling should be. That's the reason why some people are pointing out that it's fake. Well, we know now that it's entertainment and most scenarios are scripted. It doesn't take anything away from the wrestlers though because we know that they are risking their life with each stunt on the ring. One popular wrestler died when he fell 78 feet high due to equipment malfunction in one of the stunts. Like regular athletes, they too need to work hard to stay strong and fit for their matches.
