sunlight

I think the experience of reading is enhanced when you have sunlight around you because it creates a warmer environment and it's calm in its own way. It's also relaxing to read at night and depending on the mood I can also find enjoyment in that but I just prefer reading during daytime.

Easier

As someone who wears glasses and contacts, I much rather reading during the day to lessen any eye strain. Reading at night is only something I do if I’m having a great deal of difficulty getting to sleep.

Day

I prefer reading during the day. I am a sleepy person and I can't even finish a chapter without yawning. Unlike when I wake up early in the morning and read, I tend to understand more of what I am reading. I usually have a hard time getting myself up at night to read only to find myself slowly closing my eyes and fall asleep while holding the book.

Daytime!

I feel more energized and productive during the day. I don't like reading at night because it strains my eyes and messes up my sleep schedule. It's also difficult to read an exciting novel at bedtime, when your body's starting to tell you to doze off!

Healthy and good for the eyes

For me, being able to read in the day motivates me and makes me want to do things often. When I am reading in the day I often go to places or just stay outside my home to be able to enjoy the fresh air and scenery while reading a good and outstanding book that keeps me company. It is also good for your eyes to be able to read in the sunlight or any source of light.

Daytime

I prefer reading during the day. It is helpful for me to gain more information during daytime and at night I fall asleep early as I tend to get up early in the morning at 4am for morning walk followed by a study session.

Day Reader

I prefer reading during the day. The natural light is better for reading. Reading at night would just make me fall asleep on my book and I'll just lose track of which page I stopped at.

Reading in daytime

Reading is really a fun activity and very educational. I would choose reading during daytime rather than reading at night.

It is because my brain is very active and receptive during the day. I want to understand the content of the books that I read so I can use whatever knowledge I learn from reading.

Reading at night makes me fall asleep. For me, it is so hard to read at night because most of the time, in our house setting, lights are off and my husband and children are all in bed. When I stay alone in the living area, I fell asleep or get bored. That's why when I read books during night time, it is commonly because I want to fall asleep.

The morning for serious reading

I’m more alert and focused during the morning so if it’s serious reading, morning works for me.

When I was at uni I often used to go to bed early and get up early to read uni texts for a couple of hours in the morning, when I was fresh and alert.

Reading a novel is recreational, like watching Netflix. Nighttime activity.

Reading at Night

I have learned that reading at night. It can be good thing for the sleep too. Once you read long enough and get tired it can lead to sleep. And it is going to be a good experience for reading at night. I guess depends on the good books worth reading.

Less distractions

When reading, a requirement everyone should have before reading is silence. A lack of distraction makes it easier to zone in what you are really. You'll really be immersed in the story.

Night person

When it comes to reading or doing my work or studies, I have almost always preferred to do it during the Night. At the time of exams, I used to study at late Night, wake up in the morning, give my exams and come back to my home and then catch my sleep. In the same manner, even if I have to read novels or do any kind of reading I always prefer the night time to do it. I think that the silence and calmness that we are able to enjoy during the night cant be compared to the day when we are bound to get distracted by the noise around us.

I actually think that I have more interest in reading when I do it at night. I also can focus on hat I read and sometimes, I use it for me to fall asleep.

Night person

Back in college, I have been accustomed to finish my readings at night and take exams the next morning. This allowed me to cope with enormous amounts of reading materials that I have to go through college. And that stuck me thru adulthood.

Night

It's not always practical or even do-able to study at night because most people do their work on the morning and they leave the fun for the night but I feel truly more concentrated during night time. I feel smarter and more productive. During the day I would prefer to do the tasks I have go to the gym or just go out in general.

Focus

I love reading during day time. But as we get older, we have more responsibilities than before and that's keeping me from reading during daytime. There was a lot of work to do during daytime and a lot of things to be prioritized. But when the evening comes, where everyone is sleeping, I can focus more on what I am reading and based on my personal experience, reading at night has the higher retention for me than reading during the day.

Nocturnal reader

In choose to study at night because it is the only time where I am free and relax. it is also the time where i can easily absorb the information i read. the absence of noise during night time is also a great factor why I consider reading every night. Hence, I can concentrate more, and learn more.

I'll go with both

I read during the day, and I read during the night. it all depends on how much free time I'm getting, and whatever interest I hold in what I am reading. There are times when I read both during the day and at night. This happens especially when I have exams. I try to use all the time I have.

Darkness falls across the land, the midnight hour

I am voting for reading at night because I tend ti read "more" at night but that doesn't necessarily mean that I don't read during the day. If I have the time I would read during the day, it just so happens that I am always busy with work when there is sunlight.

I'm a night owl.

Reading is a great activity and it has a lot of benefits one of those is benefits is being more knowledgeable. When we read we exercise our brain and we gain new information and skills that can help us in the new future.

I chose reading at night simply because I am a night person and also my mind is more active during the night.

Reading at night

Based on my experience, reading at night helps yourself forget all of your worries during the day. It takes your mind off the things that stressed you, which in turn contributes to a good night's sleep. It's actually nice because people won't disturb since they are probably already asleep.

Cozy Snowy Nights

To be able to cozy up in a warm room, during a snowy winter night is one to the most pleasant ways to spent an afternoon/night I can imagine. I say afternoon as when it is winter time, in 4pm the sun sets and the night is long and wondrous!

Both, but if I had to choose - night.

I love reading day and night, but there is something extra special about reading at night time. When reading non-fiction, certainly whatever time you are most focused is best.

However, when you're engrossed in a fiction, cozying up by a window or a fireplace at night, with nothing but the light of your reading lamp makes it such an integrative experience. You can almost feel yourself disappear in those pages.

There are many people interested in optimizing their time and become successful professionals, if you are interested in it I recommend you find your ideal time to read productively. This will allow you to be more productive in reading, that is, read more, retain more information and make better use of time. I prefer reading during the daytime, as my eyes don't get as tired and I'm able to remember more of what I'm reading.

I depends on your mood. Nit everyone can read books during the day since during that time they are not productive since some might be productive during at night. It's good to read books during day time compared to night time since our eyes will not be stressed to adapt from the lightning.

I'm a morning person so I prefer reading during the day but I read during the night sometimes when I have nothing else to do or I can't sleep, it helps me calm my mind. I don't read books but I read on my iPad a lot. I can switch from day to night mode which helps my eyes a lot and it's really much more comfortable.

If I am reading for leisure I prefer to read during the daytime as a form of relaxation. For studying something it is better to read at night when the home is quiet and I had taken a bath so my body is relaxed and my mind can easily absorb what I am studying. But lately I don’t read much anymore because of the internet. It is like the internet is best for searching information that reading has taken the second fiddle in terms of learning.

Reading during the day vs reading at night: I love to read at night compare reading during the day. I can be more focused on what i am reading and understand it easily at night because there is less distruction at night compare in day. In night it seems that my mind is calm and ready to have something in it plus the quite surroundings make the time perfect.

Both are good times for me as long as I have time. In the night, you have to make sure to read in a well-lit area to avoid damaging your eyes. In the morning, it is best to finish all the chores to avoid interruption during reading. Both times are good depending on the circumstance.

I prefer reading during night time as long as I had a power nap, a lamp shade and eyeglasses which can protect my eyes. Our eyes were not designed to be used in low light. During the night, I love the quietness of the surrounding which makes me able to concentrate more.

Reading at night, provided I have a night lamp, is my choice. This is because I love to be able to focus on what I am reading and really digest the information. I hate disturbances, including cars driving past the house, and at night this is rare. This allows me to concentrate more and gives me more satisfaction whilst reading.

Honestly I think when everything around you is peaceful is the best time as it allows you to really dwell in the book. A few months ago I started to get up at 5am to read for an hour or two before going to work; same for the days I didn't work. It was a really nice time as your mind is clear, there's no activity to distract you on social media, and in the house and the city a pleasant stillness reigns.

To be honest, when I really think about it, I spend pretty much the entirety of my day reading. I read plenty of news articles, eBooks, and forum comments all day long, so I pretty much read from the moment I wake up. That being said, when it comes to reading actual, physical books, I prefer to read those at night. My bedtime routine usually consists of turning on my bedside lamp, curling up with my cat, and opening up a book to read before going to sleep. It’s a great way to unwind and relaxes my mind so I can fall asleep easily.
