Removable Memory Cards are Convenient

Aside from the evident fact that removable memory cards are lighter and smaller than flash drives, which makes them handy, I also find it flexible for its ability to adapt in any devices. This simply means, regardless of the availability of your device, may it be a personal computer, a camera or a smartphone, you will not encounter problems of switching through this gadgets. There are even flashdrives available that were built with a removable memory card inside. It is clear enough that a removable memory card is the better choice among these two.

Inexpensive and easy

I love removable memory cards because I can take pictures on my camera and then upload them to my laptop right away. I’ve also got way more of these than I have flash drives, so I guess that’s also saying something about my preference!

Flash Drives Easily Breaks

Flash drives often break even if you take care of them. Once you put one accidentally in the washer, it's dead. With memory cards, they are magnet, fire, water and dust resistant. Something flash drives don't have.

It is affordable and easy to use. One can use it as USB through adaptors. The memory storage is not bad. If you buy a bigger spaced memory card then you can store much detail.

Removable Memory Card

Although I have been using flash drives more than the removable memory cards for a long time now, but if I am told to choose one then I will definitely go for the removable memory card. Nowadays the device i use more frequently to do all my daily work online is my mobile phone. the removable memory cards can be used in the mobile to expand their external memory. Even using Netflix and playing games is much easy and convenient when you do it on a mobile with the removable memory card

Smaller than a flash drive

Well I think I would go for SD cards here. All in all these two are not the ideal devices to back up files, It is still better to use external hard drives. But for travelling purposes , I would choose SD. Transferring files and downloaded movies are easily accessible in these storages. Plus very cheap and easy to keep, they won't take much space, I could fit them in my wallet.

Removable memory card

For me it is more useful than flashdrive, they both stored files but removable memory card can be inserted in phones, cameras, ipod and etc. Unlike flashdrive that it can only copy files from other devices, and without usb pluh we can't use flashdrive.

small but great

Its so convenient. It can be used in any gadget. Some of the flash drives I've used becomes hot while being used which may cause some damage to your phone or laptop. The memory card does not. Just insert it in any of your gadget and its ready to go.

Of course the SSD!

I'm pretty amazed that the Flash Drive got the majority of the votes. That's crazy. SSD drives these days are pretty affordable, are so much faster, and their capacity is so much bigger! You can also use them on computers, laptops, servers, and as flash drives (for storage). SSDs get my vote! They are simply superior to anything else at the moment.

The Flash

I rather choose flash drive because it can be written and rewritten to an almost unlimited number of times, similar to hard drives. I can put large files (ie. Movies, Software installer, etc.) without any hassle.

Doesn't easily get corrupted

What I love about USB's are that they are very portable and don't get easily corrupted unlike Removable Memory Cards. I've used both in the past and I know that they're used in different ways, however if I were to compare the benefits I can get from the both of them, I can say that USB Flash Drives have much more benefits compared to RMCs.

easy and convenient

I prefer using flash drive as I find it more convenient and easier to use. I can easily transfer the files in flash drive as long as I can find the USB port, and it's very common now. I can't really find a port for memory card in all devices, so it isn't easy for me to transfer the files.

Flash

I prefer flash drive with OTG. The reason being it can be more useful for transferring the data. And also it can give more options for connecting to phone and the laptop. I prefer that and some of the time it can give me more control over the data transfer.

more sockets

I prefer this because you can plug it into more things and I think it is a bit more versatile than a memory card. Most TVs now even have USB plugs as well so you could just put in whatever you want to show on the TV and you can't do that with a card. Not all laptops have a memory card reader as well and most of them if not all have at least a USB socket.

A better pick.

To me, I believe that having to do with a flash drive is much more better than the removable disk. The flash is a nice device that you can use to save lots of files as you want and the nice thing about it is that you can make use of it whenever you feel like doing unlike what we have with the other option of making use of a memory card.

Flash drive

I prefer flashdrive because it is more convenient to use. As most of the laptops or computers have a port for a flashdrive, it is much easier to transfer or download the files into the flashdrive. Also, it has various designs to choose from which is good so that you won't mistakenly exchange your flashdrive with other people's. You just have to be careful on inserting it into a port as it can easily get virus that can corrupt your files.

Easy to find

I am confused why a memory card is so easy to get corrupted! I have bought from reliable retail store and I only buy original ones. But after just a few months, it will always be corrupted. I became frustrated about that and never trusted memory cards again. I prefer using flash drive now to avoid the risk for lost data. Also, I always place my memory card along with my keys. Flash drive is easier to store than memory card.

This one.

I choose Flash Drive because we all know that it's portable. It can easily connect from one computer to another or to other smartphones (if it's OTG). I've been using flash drives for many years now, and though it could be easier to connect my phone directly to the computer, I actually don't want virus to directly affect my phone. So, I'm going with flash drive.

Faster

The flash is very fast, affordable and easy to be moved around unlike the card reader which can be separated from the main head. Without one part of the Card reader it is useless except you get a new one if one part of it is faulty it can corrupt your files or slow down your operation but the flash drive is in one piece and cant be disembarked for any purpose except to damage it, it is also very fast when in operation.

flashdrive

USB is not a storage type, it's just a way of transferring it. Sure, it does limit the speed, but nowadays no storage method is as fast as USB 3.1 so the speed is limited by the storage itself. MicroSD cards use Flash storage, and the regular USB keys which you probably see being used everywhere, also use Flash storage. So theorically their speeds should be exual. However, it depends on the SD card and on the USB stick. SD cards havd classes from 2 to 10, 2 being the slowest and 10 the fastest. There is also SSD storage (not to confuse with SD) which is faster than Flash. SSD drives are much bigger, something like a smartphone in size, and they're usuay put inside laptops or connected externally with a (usually short) USB cable. TL;DR each USB device or SD card has different speed

Higher Compatibility

Flash drives are commonly used to transfer files between two devices. They are mostly compatible with many devices for that reason. Memory cards, on the other hand, are not always compatible with devices, especially old phones. Some phones do not support higher storage capacities that are formatted to exfat. These memory cards are kinda tricky to format to the old fat format to make it compatible unlike flash drives which are easy to format.

Flash drive!

The biggest disadvantage of removable memory cards is that they can be lost so easily. With such a small size, it would take a lot of effort not to misplace a memory card. Meanwhile, flash drives are just the right size, and they have enough memory to serve their function.

Flash drives anytime

I would choose a flash drive anytime of the day. Flash drives are easy and convenient to use nowadays especially when it is required to pass certain files from one electronic gadget to another such as a computer to a laptop or even a computer to a television. I agree that memory cards are very useful especially for cellphones and for digital cameras but that's mostly it. They do have a great amount of space as well but it has a limit of use while the flash drive can be used in a variety of appliances. So therefore my vote has to go to the flash drive.

You can have a removable memory card and use just like a flash drive as long as you have memory card reader. Portability and ease of use are not the main problems of memory card, reliability is. Memory cards are not much reliable as the flash drive. Crashing is very common with memory cards. I am saying this from my experience. My flash drives have never crashed however, my memory cards have crashed multiple times.

ACtually a memory card might be more versatile when you come to think of it as they allow one to easily transfer data to computers with the use of usb cables. The data can be shared from the device to the computer in just a similar manner as you would when you need to transfer information from a flash drive to a phone.

Although they are the same storage, it has difference on how to use it. Memory card basically is intended for cellphones and cameras where as Flash drive is designed for USB ports. A flash drive is less versatile since you cannot be able to use it for a camera or any other devices that lack a usb port. with a memory card, you can insert it anywhere with an adapter or without at times and in some cases you can have a usb cable to assist you.

I think both of them are good especially since they can be used to transfer file to the laptop or from one laptop to another, flash drive is more faster than card reader when used in a laptop because it has been programmed for laptop only or anything that is accessible via USB port. The card reader can transfer virus from a phone to a laptop if connected and also it is easily expose can can be corrupted.

I do think that both can transfer viruses making none the better in terms of transfer of malware since it is a negative thing. Nonetheless, i think that a flash drive will transfer malware in just a quicker rate as I have had many laptops infected by viruses from flash drives used by my friends on the computer.

Both of them has its uses. A removable memory card is used on mobile phones, Smartphones, phablets, digital cams and tablets while flash drives are typically used on PC's, Netbooks, Full sized digital cameras and Laptops. But there are also connectors that can be bought so that you can use both on all devices.

I agree with you my friend. This tends to be tedious and there are some phones whose memory card ports are located at a point where you need to remove the phone battery first before you take out the memory card. In terms of general, external memory storage, I definitely prefer flash drives to removable memory cards. The thing is that not every computer has an SD card reader, so you either have to carry a USB card reader with you, or you’re basically out of luck. However, literally every computer has a USB port which obviously means that you can carry your flash drive with you wherever you go and not have to worry whether or not you’re going to be able to access your information. The flash drive or USB stick is one of the most convenient inventions with the computer. It gives us the luxury of having a backup of files in a small stick that we can keep in the purse. We always have a flash drive in the computer so that when someone uses the computer the files could be saved in the flash drive even for a temporary period only because later on we save all the files in an archive disk.

For me I guess it depends on where you are going to use it. If your just going to get small file, copy, or let say print in easy way or transfer it, USB flash drive is the one you need. If you need to get bigger files, as back up, that needs more space for your personal files need, then you better use the removable memory card to save all your files. So it really depends on where you are going to use those.
