Russia is Stronger than the United States

Russia is Stronger than the United States
I remember reading news articles last year which reported that President Putin stated that the Russian military could overpower any potential foe. Of course, that includes the United States of America. Although the reported budget of Russia that is allotted for their military is only a meager $67 Billion as compared to the United States' $600 billion allotment, this amount may be grossly understated in order to fool their adversaries and catch them off guard.

Putin has been very vocal about the United States and has been criticizing the political leaders left and right. He has blamed America for ISIS and other things. He has even hinted at war at some points in his speeches. This man seems to fear nobody and that may be because Russia has finally overtaken the United States in terms of military power. Russia has also deep ties with China which is another very very strong ally.

Putin is cocky and he has every right to be. He can walk the walk and talk the talk.

The United States has its hands full if ever a war erupts.

I think USA is more stronger

For the last 27 years USA have 2 major operation. One is in Iraq and second is on Afghanistan. For the last few months there is no ISIS attack on USA- but there have recent ISIS attack on Russia. Sir Donald J trump had been announced that there is no ISIS on USA and he have a very strong eyes on the diversified citizens over the USA and Republican political party has been controlling USA now. Every term for the last 27 years republican politician party comes to this world of USA power- they have been done a major good work. Like George Bush for Iraq operation, George W Bush Junior for Afghanistan operation now sir Donald J trump will start a new operation for peace. USA have 16500 KM ICBM nuclear ahead system any time any where in this world. To become powerful Russian President Vladimir Putin should need to remove ISIS mentality people from Russia asap first. Than Russia can be think as a world power. USA is always a Giant superpower in this world. To think to fight against USA will be a foolish work. There have a talk over the USA- "God bless America. God saves America."

I think USA will be more careful about all types of diversified people to avoid any types of attack. Native USA citizen will never try to destroy America. Native USA will always love America.

People say in this world- USA is the heaven of this world.

Thanks Centurion

America is Feminized So Weak Than Russia

After the clinton's propaganda, you can find that america is now feminized. And it'd be possible to make america weak. Considering russia is good at tactical things. I am sure if the war happens in between russia and america, then surely russia has upper hand. So it's better to consider how the feminized nations can be conquered there as well.
Posted by overcast on 08-11-2017
Please explain just HOW America is "feminized"? I bet you CANNOT! At least intelligently (cite UNBIASED sources, NOT ALEX JONES) So my FIVE years in the service was nothing because we are " feminized"? I know some Devil Dogs who would LOVE hear you call them feminine!

I laugh in spanish

funny Putin! how can he ever imagine such? does he think his country the heat when it starts? American Army do not need much training before they wipe out his country.

U.S. Is The Greater Super Power

Economically and militarily speaking, I would argue that the United States is superior to Russia. Russia is not country to be tampered with and their nuclear arsenal alone is terribly formidable; however, if push came to shove, I do believe that America would prevail. We would suffer significant damage, but at the end of the day, I think that our military is better trained, better equipped, and better suited for battle than Russia's current troops are.
Posted by Anonymous on 08-10-2017

No way

America is and will be in the near future the greatest super power. The past decades, America has lacked leadership. This has given people like Putin, Iran and North Korea the room to grow. All they can do is talk the talk but when it comes down to the wire they wont and can not walk the walk.
Posted by Anonymous on 08-13-2017

That is definitely the best way to trigger all Americans on this site. First things first, the USA has a lot more battle experience overall than Russia does. The USA also has more firepower than Russia does as well Nuclear wise and any other kind as well. The USA may not be able to pay its bills, but it can't do that because it spends billions on weapons and staying on top which it has done for the past few years. Russia is a threat, but greater than the US? Get out of here with that.
Posted by AlexHarris on 08-16-2017

Putin is all talk

Putin is all talk. While a war with Russia would be devastating, it would not be one that we would lose. Russia has always talked big, but I don't think the US has anything to worry about.
Posted by BigDreamer on 08-10-2017

I disagree!

Putin, it always has been very vocal about U.S. and not only, but his actions disagree with him. I think that U.S. is more powerful than all the countries in the world and there may be a lot of things relating the military power that we don't know but U.S. army is the best and most powerful. If there would be a war, America will win for sure, I'm just hoping we will never get there!
Posted by wallet on 08-11-2017

The US Wins

The power of the US is that they never had to go for war fully, they always wait till the last moment to save the day, so the US would never fight Russia directly, all they have to do is raise against them a worldwide superpower, and the way Putin talks has no effect on events, nor Trump, nor some group of people in a dark room making decisions on their behalf, it's up to the people to prevent an upcoming war. The US Wins
Posted by chang76 on 08-14-2017

Bull crap!, Russia who?

The US alone can fight and win both Russia,Iraq,North Korea,China at the same time, but come to look at this at this perspective, both Russia and USA fear each other cause no one knows what the other is hiding or has at the box. But i tell you, if as 1995 the US already has Anti-Grav and eye warp technology then only heavens knows what they have in stock now, did anybody know the US had something called "Mother Of All Bombs" before, until they unleashed it, who knows whether they have father or grand father of all bombs. Do you know that as 1998, US already has elements that are native to this planet. No country i repeat no country can match the US in War.
Posted by Decypher on 08-15-2017
You just got me cracked up with laughter with your heading "Bull Crap!, Russia who" LOL. I certainly don't think that Russia is stronger than the United States of America but I would say that you are over exaggerating in saying that America can take on all Russia, Iraq, North Korea and even China at once, I would call that hubris.

As much as American is very strong, there is a limit to which one country could do alone against so many, they would definitely be overwhelmed should they find themselves at crosshairs against Russia, Iraq, North Korea and China.
All FOUR? I doubt it! I agree with the other comment, HUBRIS! And that my friend is, was and always will be the FIRST step to a MAJOR butt kicking! Sorry, it is what it is! Germany took on the world, how did that end?

Depends in what case. If you compare them by military then the US wins, but if the USA attacks Russia on it's on terrain then they will not win, if Russia attacks USA they will also lose. I think we can agree that if this 2 nations went to war it will be a complete waste for humanity.
Posted by MatejaBogunovic on 08-22-2017

Hell No, Russia ain't that strong compared to US

I can certainly give it to Russia that they are quite a strong nation to content with, but they aren't yet on the same par with the United States of America. It would be foolish to say that they can't do any damage to US, they definitely can but not to completely out power the United States of America, that one is very much impossible.

Russia is Stronger than the United States is a notion anyone looking to get into the limelight would drop in order to get attention because America is on a different level when it comes to arms and armament. They can't be messed with, Russia can come a good way in contending with the US but they would never be considered stronger than the United States of America.

Putin speaks whatever he wants because that is his way of doing politics. Check how North Korea, Iran, Venezuela and other American foes that ally themselves with Russia speak, that's just how they do business. Maduro speaks very strongly against Trump and the United States, and that doesn't make Venezuela a military power; how much you speak isn't related to your actual strength.

The truth is the US is still militarily superior to Russia in every single way, not to mention Russia's economy is also pretty weak and dependent on a single field (oil&gas) therefore they are, basically, weaker than the US.

However, Russia (and its allies) can speak a lot against the US because, despite their weaknesses, they are STILL the second-strongest country in the world in military terms and the only one that can match the US in nuclear heads. We are living in a continuation of the Cold War, we just haven't noticed, and both powers can be as insulting as they want to each other, but bottom line is that they are still forced to be careful and negotiate, because nuclear heads are in between.
Posted by VintageRose on 08-10-2017
The problem with the rivalry between Russia and the US is that you should not just take as they are at face value. I am not prepared to say which one of these superpowers may be superior. At the end of the last world war, Russia had declared that they were twice almost overrun, firstly by Napolean and then by Hiller and they vowed that it would never happen again, therefore, I believe that they would try their best to keep that promise.
Posted by explorerx7 on 08-10-2017
I think that it depends on what you are evaluating as to which country is stronger. I think that we probably have more military and weapon power; but probably not a lot more. I think that both countries have brilliant people who are helping bot the US and Russia to keep ahead with military advancements. Where I think that Russia is way ahead of us, is in the condition of our people. Most people in Russia work hard, and are in a lot better physical shape than the people here in America. We have a lot of older people who would not be much help if it came to a war, and a bunch of young people who have never even gotten a job, and actually still live with their parents. From the time they are school children, people are medicated for something or another, and we would just be in a serious way of this country were attacked and we had to defend ourselves. You can see, just from the pictures that were recently posted of Putin on vacation that he is a lot more physically active than President Trump (or an of our recent presidents, for that matter). I think that the good thing in all of this, is that Russia and the United States have always been allies in any wars that both have been involved in, and Russia is a much better ally than an enemy.
Posted by Happyflowerlady on 08-10-2017
Physical activity has little to do with the modern ways of warfare though. In fact, technology and tactical mastery of the new weapons is the key in the future wars, and in that area the US has the vast advantage. If there is a Russian attack directly on US soil it is most likely to be an aerial attack, because it is very complicated for Russia to invade mainland US considering it is surrounded by sea (unless they approach Alaska, but that is still pretty complicated, and Alaska is still distant from the rest of the US). This means that, unless the civilians are needed to enlist (and undergo the physical training that would make them fit enough to match against other armies) there won't be any need for any random US folk to fight, as the combat wouldn't happen in the mainland.

Also, the physical condition of President Putin or President Trump has little to do with how efficient they'd be in a war; the presidents are not there to fight in the battlefield, they are needed as the heads of operations and their importance is more tactical than physical.
Posted by VintageRose on 08-10-2017
I'd say both countries are strong in their own ways and for sure none of them would show their true power just yet. And besides, no leader would want to have a war with another country without probable cause. If ever those two countries would go on for a strike, it would probably for a childish reason. :p
Posted by galegatling on 08-10-2017
Every country in this world has their strength & weaknesses and this is different from one nation to another. Take a look at North Korea for instance, as small as they are, many top countries in the world feared them. I don't like war. It's the beginning you will see but can't see the end. Many things will have occurred & destroyed before we realize what we've done.If the strength of Russia and US is being weighed, I'm afraid Russia will defeat the US because Russia is so tricky in their ways, it's very hard for you to predict their moves and doesn't disclose what they will do.
Posted by Gettingmile on 08-10-2017
To be honest, we really cannot determine who is the stronger nation. Besides, what are the criteria for that - weaponry, economy, international influence? There are many criteria to consider. But in general, I guess the US is still the strongest nation that's why North Korea has made itself a laughing with its threat to bomb Guam. As one retired US military officer said, it will only take 15 minutes for the US to flatten the entire North Korea. And I have to believe that because the US has plenty of firepower and experience in war.
Posted by Corzhens on 08-10-2017
I personally don't believe a word that Putin says. He is not a person to be trusted by any stretch of the imagination. I am not sure who would win in the case of a Russia US battle, but my money would be on the U.S. I hope it is never something that is put to the test.
Posted by kgord on 08-10-2017
This is a very technical question. I remember reading it somewhere that the Russian army was inferior to the US army in the number of soldiers and of military equipment, however superior in the number of nukes. So it's very difficult to say. Also, we don't know how well their soldiers are trained and that could make all the difference in the world.
Posted by Marvadaum on 08-10-2017
Well, its not about the amount of weapon the country possess, its about the strategy to be applied. Russians can be less in number, can be inferior in military equipment, but you can not ignore that Russians are very smart and persistent. Remember the second world war. Germany had such a powerful well equipped a well-nourished army, but eventually, it was destroyed by starving, not-prepared for war Russian people, who will fight to the death for their motherland, no matter what self-proclaimed Superpowers think.
Posted by RosieCheeks on 08-11-2017
In my opinion, it is still the US that reigns supreme when it comes to military power. No matter how much Putin would talk against US, he cannot hide the fact that it is still the one that reigns as the superpower. Though, no one can exactly know because it's not the weapons that make a country super powerful when it comes to the military but it's a combination of the brains behind it , the trainings and the weapons.
Posted by SimplyD on 08-11-2017
I think that such things are really hard to judge. You also have to take in consideration which country would get which allies? Who would be helping Russia if a war emerged and who would aid U.S.? Putin just says very flashy things to come off edgier but I doubt that he would ever truly go to war with the United States. I don't think that anybody can accurately say which country is stronger. We don't even have all of the information we would need to calculate and estimate these things.

Just ignore whatever Putin or Trump says because it holds no value :)
Posted by Mehano on 08-11-2017
It's not weaker, it's not stronger... It's strong, like USA, and it's weak, like USA: They both have their point of strenght, their point of weakness and there are areas where they would surpass the other, and others where they would be completely surpassed. In today's world - but even in the past - those superpower nations always fought with each other, trying to claim which one is the strongest, which one is the best... And there never was an actual winner. This is why I believe their equal, and if they were to join their forces the rest of the world would be pretty much screwed, probably even in the case of a massive alliance.
Posted by Xilkozuf on 08-11-2017
Really hard to say. I particularly think Russia hides a lot of the world. They are a very strong country and I have the feeling that they can overcome the USA. However, the USA is also very powerful. I would never particularly like to see these countries at war.
Posted by hermessantos on 08-11-2017
Putin can do what ever he wants and get away with it. However, Trump cannot do what ever he wants and get away with it. In other words, there are laws in the US tjat stops the president to do according to his whims. However, Russia is an unruly state and the president can do anything, there are laws but they can be easily modified according to the president's wish. In that sense Russia is stronger than the US
Posted by vinaya on 08-11-2017
I don't think Russia is that powerful compared to the US, Now North Korea is a different story because of China, China will step in and help North Korea in a war, which can cause some serious problems for the US and the world. China is a true powerhouse in the world, and I don't think we want to get on their bad side.
Posted by kamar19 on 08-12-2017
US is not strong anymore. USA is now feminized like Sweden. And their policies are going to hurt them. And having more weapons don't win wars. but bad home policies will stop them from the war. So one has to understand that US doesn't have much chance against china and the russia anymore. So one has to understand how that can be any different in that case there as well.
Posted by overcast on 08-12-2017
In a direct war between Russia and the US (which I don't think is going to happen, at least not any time soon) would there really be a winner? If both countries used their full might, both would be hurt badly. The damage inflicted to and by both would last for ages. I don't see any real "winner" in that outcome. Well, maybe for other countries who might try to kick us while we're down.
Posted by Zyni on 08-17-2017
Even a lay man knows that USA is the most powerful country on planet earth. The USA have everything that can make a country to be powerful. The citizens are very dedicated and patriotic to their country. The USA have produced more powerful weapons since world war I and II than the Russians. Russia is one of the most powerful European country, but they have still not yet reached the level that the Americans are right now.
Posted by babyright on 08-19-2017
in some point i will agree that Russian are stronger because simply they are competing not just US but also in Europe if they are weak i guess they already lost or some what change, but as we can see they keep pushing and even today we can see how they are trying there best to improve in all aspect the country has. But in terms of advance technology specially military US still the best in the world, experience from different wars they already have the knowledge in modern and advance international conflicts.
Posted by jan on 08-22-2017
I always examine both countries capability. If they fought one another, it would be a "absolute complete destruction", meaning if they fight; it will wipe out themselves and no existence of them will remain. In reality both countries would settle themselves, as their interest would not be beneficial at all. It is important to pay attention of what they do and their interest to every nations. When everybody estimating Russian government's military power. It would wipe out the entire world, as they have nuclear that could destroy an entire country like France.

Russia play special roles when it comes about political balance in every region. It would support countries cornered by political motivation. Trading to russia would be also a good investment. Yes! they are strong, in economic effeciency.
Posted by jaysolano12 on 08-25-2017
I don't think the United States can be compared to Russia in any way, this is like comparing light and darker. The US has a very strong economy, standard of living is high and other sectors of the economy.I think Russia is good but shouldn't be compared with the states.
Posted by lovely on 09-07-2017
There has been recent attacks by the ISIS on Russia in the last few months which goes a long way to show that the security level in that country can't be compared to what we have in the USA where President Donald Trump has tried to tighten security and going the long way of placing a ban on some countries all in a bid to ensure that the day-to-day running of the country ain't disrupted. Also, we can see that the economic situation in the US is quite superior to that of Russia and even in the world of technology.

I can never compare the Russian government and the US government any time soon. The difference is just clear for everyone to see.
Posted by Barida on 09-08-2017
There has been some debate about who has the stronger nukes. Some people claim the US has a clear nuclear advantage and, in fact, has always had it. Anyway, it ultimately boils down to that I think.
Posted by jyy on 09-09-2017
If there is a war between Russia and US there will be no winner all are losers they will only destroying each other and many innocent people will die. and when it comes to nuclear both nation have it so if this happens it will be bloody war.
Posted by tophew on 09-19-2017
I think the US is stronger than Russia because Russia does not have the money for the latest and the greatest technology. I don't see them in anyway comparing to the US. Now China, that might be a nother matter. I think China could indeed be stronger than the US if not now, then in the future.
Posted by kgord on 09-21-2017
That depends upon which parameter you choose to define strength at this moment. The USA has vastly more wealth than Russia and that should keep them safe. Russia has a much smaller military, but is not afraid to use it. American median income is greater than Russia’s. The dollar is a better medium of exchange than the ruble. Russians can handle more alcohol, generally speaking, than Russians.
Posted by muaaz.93 on 09-26-2017
Personally, I think that when it comes to general warfare America has better equipment and better-trained soldiers. Still, Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal in the world a legacy of the cold war. If a war went nuclear it's impossible to predict a winner.
Posted by Marvadaum on 09-26-2017
Both US and Russia achieved nuclear superiority decades ago and that means their both strong it's a tie. Why a tie? It's because if war erupts and they launch nuclear warheads to one another then they'll both be destroyed no ifs no buts, that's why it's a draw. No one is stronger than the other and no one can over power the other.
