Good for the health.

I'd rather choose to sleep without pillows. Not only will sleeping with no pillow save your money, but it will also lead to less neck, back, and shoulder pain, higher quality sleep, and even fewer wrinkles! And I feel more comfortable to sleep without it. I don't need to fix the pillow everytime I sleep and it's just disturb me in my sleep. I remember my childhood times that I can fall asleep easily without pillow. But when I tried to sleep with a pillow, it takes me few minutes to fall asleep. Now, I use to sleep with pillows but most of the time, I still sleep without it.

I've tried it both ways

Over the years I fathomed with the question on whether or not I should sleep with a pillow. I do admit that using pillows makes you feel like you're surrounded by comfort and warmth, but the problem was that I always seemed to wake with neck pains. I tried to ignore the problem but the neck pains were just too strong for me not to complain. This led me to sleep without a pillow which led me to have a better quality of sleep. I'm definitely better at waking up in the mornings.

Pillow = crutch

All the arguments for having a pillow is to use a pillow for other purposes than what they are intended for!

Uncomfortable with them

Pillows hurt my neck and head, so I find impossible to sleep with one. Usually I move a lot while sleeping, so pillows move up during the night, bending my head and neck up and upper, and I end up with a very bad pain due to the muscle support. The other thing to take care is that, pillows tend to be a dust mites paradise, so that is completely nasty. I only have pillows to make my bed look better, or to put them in my back while I'm seated on bed, but not for sleeping.

I don't sleep with pillows

Pillows are not just for your head and neck. Depending on your sleeping position, additional pillows can help keep your spine in a proper position. But, did you know that sleeping without a pillow is much healthier and better for you. Yes, though a pillow can support your head, sleeping without one can also prevent you from developing other ailments too like wrinkles, neck pain and spine-related problems. When you sleep with a pillow that is too high, it can put your neck into a position that causes muscle strain on your back, neck and shoulders.

Reminds me of My One and Only Love

Needless to say, my pillows are my source of joy and comfort while sleeping. For health purposes, pillows supports our neck and upper back which we need for our naturally curved spine. It helps to maintain the proper alignment of the spine. I have several kinds and shapes of pillows on my bed; a thin flat pillow on my stomach, a long pillow beside my arms, a large round pillow on my feet and a medium size pillow for my head and neck. I should also point out that being involved on a long distance relationship, my pillow somehow remind me of my fiance scent. It's very difficult to be away from my fiancee, and having the pillow which I received from my fiancee on my birthday, it makes me feel that Distance is not really an issue, because at the end of the day, we have each other's love. The love we have for each other is just like my pillow; soft, gentle and comforting. ???

Without a pillow

I have always slept better without a pillow. People find it weird but I find that some people like me just easily get a sore neck and back from the sleeping position used with a pillow.

Good

Sometimes pillow can strain our body that cause us sleep deprivation. Whenever I use pillow I always had some problems such as restlessness, I also wake up frequently during my sleep and the most important thing is sometimes I wake up having bad sore neck, terrible headache, back pain or even a hateful pimple because of the dust and other impurities in the pillow, because of this I have to change my pillow cloth everyday which is very hassle for me, and that was the reason why I got rid of pillow and sleep without it.

Pillow Pillow Pillow Haha

I don't think I have ever actually slept without a pillow. The funny thing is that I see my sleep preparation as an incomplete progress without the pillow on my bed. I have really tried sleeping without any pillow but it's almost impossible for me to sleep off.

I think this has to do with my posture while sleeping. I prefer to hug my pillow with my belly on the bed while sleeping. In fact, it is the easiest way for me to fall asleep. So whenever I happen to experience a bed without a pillow, I practically know that my sleeping is almost mission impossible.

Or.. Sleeping with 2 pillows!

I actually like to sleep with 2 pillows. But I don't rest my head on both of them. I like to lie on one of them and wrap the other around my head lol. Well, not wrap, just like, leave lying over my head if you know what I mean. Instead of using my quilt. Actually, I find 2 pillows is too high up and I can't see how people can sleep like that (when lying on your side). It's nice to have 2 pillows though. One so you can sleep on it and the other that well, goes to sleep on you! Plus, the upside is, even though you can flip your pillow to get the cool side in the morning, you have 2 in which to do it with and the one that I put over my head is usually the coolest one because it's either fallen off me or something. I know I'm a strange sleeper. I sometimes sleep with my knees up in the air or lying on my bellow with my legs up but my duvet covering me. I don't know, I just like the feeling I guess. :D

Can't Sleep without One, or Two

I'm more used to have lots of pillow on my sleep. One really soft and comfortable on my head and another one on my side as I'm really used sleeping sideways and sometimes lie flat on the bed hugging my pillow. And yeah I'm really fidgety, wiggly, antsy while sleeping. You'll never on which direction I will be once I'm going to wake up.

Sometimes its really difficult to sleep with only one if the other pillow doesn't smell that good already and I can't remember when was the last time I sleep really deep without one. Probably will never be.

Helps support the back bone

It is really hard to sleep without pillows. You should need a soft and comfortable pillow so it can support your neck and back. I f you dont use these might lead to back pain and neck pain or worst injuries caused by unproper posture .

Pillows all the way

I can't even imagine having to sleep without a pillow because it would just feel awful. I'm not sure why someone on the other side put cost down as a factor, pillows aren't that expensive and you don't really have to change them much (maybe a few times a year at max). I could just never sleep without a pillow.

Used to it

I could never sleep without a pillow. I've tried it a few times but after hours of trying to fall asleep I gave up and just used it. I don't use a normal one though but instead, prefer using a special kind that's designed by some doctor to help you get more quality sleep.

But my whole family always sleeps with different pillows. I don't think that I personally know anybody that wouldn't be using it. It's better and far more comfortable!

Pillow

Majority of the time I sleep with a pillow. To be honest, I'm very specific about the pillow I sleep on. Something that contours to my head and neck, while simultaneously being supportive. However, there are times when I get a stiff neck from the night before. So in order to correct it, I sleep without a pillow that following night.

To be clear, I don't mind sleeping without a pillow. But I'd much rather have a quality one.

Sleeping with Pillow

I can not stress how cancer it is to sleep without a pillow or at least something to prop your head up while you're sleeping. I find the majority of my neck pains come from when I don't sleep with a pillow rather than me placing the pillow in an odd position. I'm not saying sleeping with a pillow is the best thing for your health or anything, but it's a lot more comfortable than sleeping without it. It is kind of like comparing how you sit when you're on the toilet vs how you sit over one of those holes in the ground.

I didn't know that people regularly slept without pillows until today. I guess I just learned something new. For me, there have been a few times when I've napped without a pillow but I had neck pains after I woke up. Definetely, I am for Using A Pillow for Sleeping

I actually can't sleep without a pillow on my head. Though, I don't like a bulky or big pillow for my head but just a medium thick pillow. If there are no pillows around I would fold the blanket into many folds just to have a pillow on my head when I sleep.

And some people are like used to pillow. So it's possible that they can do this for their sleep pattern. I don't know if it's for everyone. I am used to pillow and hard to sleep without it.

I frankly cannot fall asleep without at least three pillows around me. It may be troublesome and it might not be the best thing for my posture, but I definitely sleep much better and much more deeply with pillows surrounding me, mostly behind my head and between my knees. It brings comfort to my posture and I can't see myself ditching that anytime soon.

Pillow for me thanks

I love sleeping with a pillow. There's something quite soothing and relaxing when sleeping that I don't get from sleeping otherwise. I would occasionally sleep without a pillow on the sofa and it's not bad but not as good as sleeping on a pillow in my bed. Perhaps I have gotten use to pillows so much that I am quite uncomfortable if I am in bed and there's no pillow. I would toss and turn all night. I wasn't aware of all the benefits obtained from sleeping without a pillow. It seems like an acquired positioning but in the name of good health, I suppose I can make an effort but I'll do so with my pillow right beside me to fall back on in case I need some added comfort on my journey.

Side-Sleeper

I am a side-sleeper so a pillow is not optional for me! Add on to that the fact that I have neck and spinal problems and you have a person who has to put an awful lot of consideration into his pillows. If I don't keep it fluffed properly, and if it isn't a firm filling then I end up with horrific neck pain that radiates down my arms and shoulder blades. While not everyone has the troubles I do with sleeping, everyone has a need for good sleep posture in the long term so consideration for your bed is advised!

I haven't heard of anybody who sleeps without a pillow but I guess there must be a few people who do this. It has never had occurred to me to try it because I don't think it is the healthiest thing for your neck and spine. Pillows!

Pillows offer health benefits just as well as laying flat. When your neck is slightly elevated your spine becomes aligned, and helps you fall into REM sleep faster. Helps with breathing that reduces snoring, especially if your partner has loud snoring. The elevation from pillows keeps stomach acids down to reduce the chance of heartburn while you sleep.

I have over ten pillows on my bed. I sleep on my side, so I prefer soft cool pillows. I align my pillows to where it surrounds me so it doesn't matter what side I'm on I have pillows to comfort me.

Sleeping in comfort

Having a pillow in your bed is the most comfortable way for me to sleep in my bed. The most traditional way of sleeping, the pillow is place under your head.

Sometimes it is really hard to sleep without having a pillow because it supports the head in sleeping. It keeps air around your neck for better relaxation.

helps a lot

One of the main benefits that I get from using a pillow is the comfort. A perfect pillow has been confirmed to relieve the pain when sleeping. Some people are suffered a lot to sleep due to the neck pain. The reason why the neck pain persists is due to using the wrong or uncomfortable pillow. Actually, good neck pillows are supposed to relieve the pressure on the neck and give good support to the neck.

Pillows = Comfort

If you don't want to wake up with a stiff neck, you gotta sleep with a pillow. I don't know anyone who would prefer to not use a pillow, unless you're sleeping at the airport or in the office or in a public transport or something. But if you're just at home, you gotta use a pillow. It's just much more comfortable and can help you avoid posture problems. Another con of not using a pillow is you can't sleep sideways. You need to put something underneath your head to feel comfortable sleeping sideways.

I have tried occassionally to sleep without a pillow, but I am so used to having one, it feels very unnatural to me not to have one. It would take quite awhile for me to adjust to not having a pillow. I think that it might be better for your spinal alignment not to have a pillow, but adjusting to that fact is going to take a while to get used to if you ever can. One thing though is that you might sleep that way if you were tired enough.

Depends on how a human react when sleeping without such comfort like pillows especially when you are into it. However, if you are very exhausted of work and really need to rest, you might be sleeping anywhere without pillows or depends on where you sleep. For me, having pillows to higher my feet can make me more comfortable to sleep. It is really hard for me to sleep without pillows in my feet. Moreover, pillows are a helping material to comfort and support your neck while sleeping. So maybe it is really better to sleep with pillow even just one.

I don't think I can sleep without a pillow because I was used to having a pillow since I was young. The blood will fill my head, so to speak. Especially for those with problems in their stomach, sleeping without a pillow will tend to invigorate the acid in the stomach that can cause sore throat. That's what happened to my husband so now he is using a special pillow that is quite high. The doctor said that it is healthier to sleep on a high pillow than a lower one so the blood circulation will be better.

Today, I can't sleep without pillow. I used to sleep without a pillow, later it often times, I feel more pain at the back of my spine and neck. I even experienced more stiff neck, pain in my shoulders, pain in my face. I could sometimes feel numb, that's why I practice to sleep with pillow now. It's annoying to have stiff neck, unexpectedly.

What I feel before when I don't used my pillow: I feel my spine don't align until now, often experience stiff neck, numbness in face, and numbness in shoulder.

This is only my experiences, I don't know what exactly, the benefits to sleep with pillow, I just comfortable with it.

My father always told me to sleep without pillow. He said if you use pillow, your neck and back will have problems later in life. sadly, I could not follow his advice but I bever used fat pillow. I use a slim pillow and it gives me comfort while sleeping.

Actually, it is a matter of habit. I can sleep with or without a pillow. Both of options I experienced before without any troubles or side effects. Maybe because I am an easily adjustable person. Anything is fine for me.But more I prefer to sleep with my head placed on the small pillow. It gives me a feeling of cosiness and comfort, which I think provides better sleep.

Do not just lie in bed, forget your worries, try to relax and sleep. The ideal is to always take some care, since sleep directly affects how your next day will be. And when it comes to sleeping care, the pillow plays an important role.

Taking into account that the spine should always stay straight, sleeping without pillow can do harm or not, it depends on the position you usually sleep. For example, if you sleep on your side, sleeping without a pillow is not a good option since your head will stay 'hanging', damaging your spine. For sleeping on the side, using a pillow that leaves your spine in line is the best option.

It's really hard to sleep without pillow. I don't know how you going to do that. I try to do that during camping and I woke up with headache. It's not comfortable for me to sleep without that, and actually I have four pillows on bed, and I use all of them. It will helps you to become comfortable and warm at night.
