Smart TV

Smart TV
A smart TV is actually a hybrid between a computer and a TV. Smart TV's have been around for a few years now, getting more and more popular these days.

With a full HD, Smart TV you can basically have more everything you need in terms of media using just your remote. Smart TVs can connect to the internet and stream movies, videos and even allow you to browse online websites.

Most smart TVs out there run on some sort of Android OS version which makes the download and install of additional applications very easy.

Personally I don't really need a smart TV. The cheap one are clunky and load everything way to slow. I want a TV capable of doing everything a TV needs to do at its very best, I don't need a slow hybrid between TV and computer that dose neither jobs well.

Pros
  • They have an operation system just like a computer or smartphone;
  • You are able to install apps and create additional functionalities;
  • You can browse the Internet by default, stream videos and play online games;
  • You don't need additional devices to make you TV "smart" such as a Chrome cast.

Cons
  • Smart TV can be very expensive compared with the non-smart TVs;
  • You can essentially turn a non-smart TV into a smart one with a device like the Chrome cast without spending the same amount of money as a full Smart TV;
  • Smart TVs can be full of bugs and slow, doing neither of the jobs well enough;
  • You have to many options and settings on a smart TV, some people will just prefer simplicity and functionality over expensive, complex and very slow hybrid TV.

More Convenient Choice

I am, very sadly, using a non-smart TV at the moment. My computer and that TV are on opposite ends of the room. Every day when we stream a movie, you will see the HDMI cable across the room and we have to be very careful not to trip on the cable. Also, when anyone wants to stream a movie, I cannot use my computer. My husband bought a device in attempt to make our TV "smart". Alas, this silly TV doesn't even have a browser so it remains "stupid". On the bright side, we are in the process of moving to our new home and have ordered a smart TV for our living room! I am excitedly looking forward to experience this new product for the first time!

Smart TV all the way!

Definitely! There is no comparison nowadays as you can do so much on a smart tv. I cannot imagine my life without it actually. You need it to watch certain things that can only be found on the internet, and I find it very useful for the playstation. Smart TVs have ruled it all since they have been introduced and I am waiting for my smaller TV to go crazy so as to replace it for a smart tv like my bigger one in the sitting room. TVs that are not smart are only suitable for older people who do not know about the convenience of accessing the internet via the TV nowadays.

Be Smart!

Definitely a smart TV is much better than a non-smart TV! Non-smart TV's are just TV's that aren't smart. A dumb TV then if you will? Call them what you will, normal, standard, plain, ordinary, those TV's have got us through many a long and boring night! They've been there for us to watch those classic hit movies from the 80's and 90's. And they've served their purpose well. But we are living in a time where everything is going "smart" from TV's to cars, from mobiles to fridges! Where the "Internet of Things" is a device that is constantly connected to the Internet, knows what you like and what you don't like. Automatically tells you of up and coming programs and things you might be interested in and even records it for you. But Smart TV's are good in that you can do so much more on them than you can a normal TV. Whether it's just browsing the Internet or streaming some movie or something. And browsing and using Apps like YouTube or Facebook or something. I would never buy a normal TV again and I think they are going to be consigned to the same box that black and white TV's have been consigned to eventually! :_

Smart TV

Smart TV is where technology is driving to, I personally prefer a TV that gives me access to the internet and still have all the functionalities of a normal HD TV. There are lots of things over the net, therefore access to them would imply a complete exposure to a good number of entertaining videos, images and audio available on internet.

Smart TV has the ability to assist the user to a large degree in accomplishing any task, the remote is a bit complex but with the aid of the manual I think that wouldn't be much of a problem. I really appreciate the available options.

new age

irthed from intense research is the smart TV, I go about my daily engagements paying less attention to TV programs. After the days activities I discover I have very limited time to watch anything such as music or movies. Since I learnt about the Smart TV i virtually have less to worry about because i know I have lots of adventure to embark on in the movie world. The result is, i worry less about TV programs, i simply go for what I feel will adds value to me, i explore the merits of owning a smart TV.

Smart TV!

There was a time when such non-smart Tv were in every house, but that was before smart Tv’s has arrived. Let's be honest, it’s expensive to get one, but look at the perks it comes with. It’s much smarter looking, it’s slim and it takes less of space as it is mounted to the wall. Smark Tv’s nowadays, comes with full HD, 3D and VR experience, you can simply connect your smart tv with your desktop or laptop. It gives you an opportunity to surf the net as well and not to mention the remote control can also runs on voice recognition. Also, it gives you an awesome gaming experience. A lot of people buy xbox or playstation to play on their big screen smart Tv in 4k.

Smart TV

Smart TVs are better because they have so much features then normal TVs.The best thing is that we can watch videos,listen to songs through you tube etc.There are live TV available too.We can play online games too.We can download apps and updates too.By automatic updates the TV would get new features automatically,so the TV functions never gets old fashioned.

Smart TV

You can see that the value generated by the smart TV. It is more in terms of the content. And the thing is that smart TV seems to be better to navigate and learn. So on that note I'd say that it's better to have the smart TV for investment of money and time as well.

Smart!

Besides being smart TVs are also very comfortable to have! It's like you have a radio, a PC and a TV all in one. You can access Youtube, watch an episode of a series or listen to music on youtube or on any other internet radio. A very cool concept.

easier

I will choose Smart TVs because it's easier to use and not all that much more expensive than regular TVs right now. If it was that much more expensive I could see foregoing this option for a cheaper basic TV but since they are fairly cheap nowadays I am more in favor of the smart TVs because you could do more with them and not have to attach a lot of other small gadgets to it just to get the same effect.

Smart TV

If you're planning to buy a new TV, might as well to invest a little more for an upgrade it to Smart TV. I love to stream online movies, play games and much more on a Smart TV so you won't need to store or download every movie that's been released. You can always search for an online streaming of the movie that you prefer to watch, whenever you like.

Smart TV

I own a Smart TV and it has its benefits for starters you can surf the net and stream videos and movies. You could also connect your smartphone for a bigger screen to see captured photos.

Smart TVs are the next evolutionary phase of the television and in my opinion in a decade or so everyone will be using Smart TVs.

Going with the technology

I simply cannot with my two eyes wide open after seeing the perks in Smart TV and knowingly opt for a Non-Smart TV. This is by far the most silly mistake and poor judgment call one would make I would probably beat myself up should I make such a horrible mistake. Even if cash is the issue that might push me into buying a Non-Smart TV, I would pause the purchase and find a means to get the fund for a Smart TV.

Non-Smart TV

Non-Smart TV
Today's non-smart TVs refer to TVs that aren't able to connect to the internet via WiFi or Ethernet cable and don't have a integrated Operation System such as Android.

With non-smart TV you will have pretty basic TV functions. Sure you can still choose a Full HD display as most TV have such features by default in 2017 and you may still be able to play movies from you laptop using a HDMI cable.

But you won't be able to sync in your devices with your TV, you won't be able to install applications and additional features. If you really need the functionalities of a Smart TV go for a Smart TV. But

Pros
  • Non-Smart TV can be very cheap, depending on display and the size of the TV you may want, if you are not fussy about these two you can buy a basic TV at a very cheap price;
  • Non-Smart TV nowadays come with at least HD displays but most of them already have full HD displays, ensuring awesome quality;
  • Simplicity and speed can sometimes be better than having loads of options and features. I personally prefer using my smartphone and my laptop for anything that haves to do with the Internet;
  • You can turn any modern non-smart TV into a smart TV by using Chrome Cast. The result will be a full Smart TV with even bigger potential compared with a native Smart TV.

Cons
  • You can't watch video content from the Internet, this may be a huge deal to a lot of people since we all have people on Youtube we like to watch and are subscribed too.
  • If you are a technology enthusiast you won't be able to sync in all of your devices with your Smart TV.
  • You can't sync in everything you need

I'll go with the non-smart TV

Personally, I think a good quality modern non-smart TV is the best choice. I mean, you can buy a full HD one at a great price and make it smart by installing a Chromecast. Everything will be a lot cheaper and frankly, the Chromecast is better than most operation systems for smart TVs.

Non-Smart. I'm Old School

I come from the generation when television was the latest technology. So I grew up having more control over the channels even though there was not as much available to watch. We now watch TV via the “hybrid” method. We can use the digital box and get local TV channels and regularly scheduled programs. OR We can access YouTube, Netflix, etc. to search for what we want to watch. Quite frankly I think having to hunt for your entertainment and education and the news is a nuisance. I liked it better when I could just look at the TV Guide in the Sunday papers!

I have an "idoitbox" no pun intended. I don't have an smart TV. Opposite of smart is idiot, therefore, my TV is idiot TV. If I had budget for a smart TV I will definately buy a smart TV, until I get my first smart TV I will remain happy with my idiot TV. A smart TV is not just a TV it is more than that, you can even use it to surf the internet. Therefore, smart tv is smarter than idiot tv in many ways.

Smart TV is nice if you are a wealthy person with lots of excess money. I find it expensive and somewhat exorbitant based on our financial standards. And although it has wonderful functions like connecting to the internet and using it like a tablet or laptop, I would still go for the traditional tv that is not smart. The traditional tv is cheaper and easier to use so maybe it is also easier to repair in case of technical problems.

I have not really try out how a smart TV works, as I am still using not so smart TV as I think not so smart TV works well for me too, as I have my computer with me. I am not sure but I think it might be good for me to separate TV and computer, perhaps I am more old-fashioned and I haven't understand the benefits of being so "smart" for TV. Moreover, it's too expensive to get a smart TV, unless it has become very common and the price drops a lot, perhaps I will consider getting a smart TV then.

Non-Smart TV isn't that bad either, I have few friends who are making use of it and they haven't complained one day of any issue with it. So therefore, if one cannot afford to buy the Smart TV, the option to purchase a Non-Smart TV isn't a grave sin as long as it serves the purpose for which it was bought perfectly.

I'm a technology baby. So I prefer a smart TV all the way round. Actually if you have a smart TV then you won't even have to subscribe to cable. You can get all your shows online. My two favorites online are Youtube and Twitter. With a smart Tv I'm on Youtube 247-365. Youtube is a library, a University a constant source of Entertainment. I watch my news from Youtube, I watch blogs and vlogs. This experience is enhanced on a smart TV.

I think some smart TVs are worth buying. But the thing about the TVs these days is that they get outdated quickly. I'd say buying TV every 2 years or so with replacement or resale can be one option.I personally don't see new smart TV being running forever. They eventually go out after some usage. That's what I have learned so far.

Just like the computer, electronic appliances can get obsolete fast. Buying a smart tv that is very expensive is not really a smart move. My question is the use of the smart tv. By giving us a huge monitor to surf the internet, do you think that is good? It may ruin our eyes with the colorful glare and for sure you will have strained eyes after using it for your Facebook trip. The ordinary tv is still the best.
