The Another You

The Another You
The theory and concept of Parallel Universe has been a topic by a lot of Science enthusiasts for quite some time now and believe me, it's an interesting one. There are actually a lot of movies depicting this theory and they too, never failed to amaze us and make us wonder, "What if there is a Parallel Universe?" "What if there is also me in another dimension and is also doing what I'm doing right now?" The questions are never-ending but the real question is, what if you see the another you? What would you do and what would you ask "yourself?"

Two good movies which best describes Parallel Universe are Coherence and Another Earth. I won't spoil you but it's a good watch and you will definitely have goose bumping around your skin. Mine wasn't a goosebump. It was a cockroachbump because the movie got me big time and kept me wondering about the world for a minute. :D

I don't know whether a parallell universe exists. I think it might be pretty hard to find someone exactly like myself. I am one of the more unique people out there. I think there are people who are probably quite similar, but none exactly the same. That might be a good thing..!

Nobody is unique - or at least that's what I think. I used to think the same before, that I am unique but when I saw someone who thinks and acts like me, I began to question everything. LOL! :D

Back on the topic, you still did not answer the what if questions. :)

I have not watched the movies you have mentioned here. But I have read books abd watched movies about parallel universe. While what is written in the books and depicted on the movies are interesting, I don't exactly believe what they tell. I believe in the theory of parallel universe and salute people whose creative imagination makes our jaw drop, I don't think the interpreture of this theory are close to the truth.

You should watch those movies that I mentioned if you have some free time. You won't regret it. The actors are awesome specially the production. The imagination is indeed very wild but the possibilities are there at the same time.

I have always believed in the idea of a parallel universe, in fact of multiple parallel universes. I believe that the universe and time itself are too intricate and varied for us to understand. I often ponder what a different me might be like, or what my other life might be like in a parallel universe. How alike or dislike would I be? What different experiences would I have? Would I be a happier or sadder person? Admittedly, sometimes when I feel down, I consider the possibilities of another universe. Perhaps in some of these other lives I haven't experienced the same pains or losses that I have in this one. It's a lovely thought sometimes.

Well said! I totally agree with you there. Sometimes we would think to ourselves when we are sad and alone, 'is the other me also sad and feeling alone like I am right now?' Things like that really make us wonder about life and it's possibilities.

It would rather be amazing if at least one of my selves is posting here but he would make a slight change in this comment. I would love to ask myself questions as to what he has done in his life, whether he made the same choices like me or not. I would envy him surely but I will always be proud of what I am now in this universe of ours.

I feel like this is the exact reaction I would have, too. I'd want to just sit and talk for a while. Find out exactly how the two of us differ from one another and how our timelines vary, perhaps giving even more info as to why we are so different. Is there a timeline where my parents are killed in a mugging, causing me to become Batman? I don't know!

Did you change your comment? Last night I read this differently. Someone has definitely edited your post here. Was it you? :p

True, I am curious as well. I hope the another me is friendly like I am and down-to-earth person.

After I have watch the movie “The One” by Jet Li, it made me question myself. What if that theory is actually real? I just can’t imagine myself doing anything else on to what I am right now. I just make my imagination run wild. Like I am the richest man in the world, or a highest paid athlete or even a well-known scientist. I am enjoying every second of that. I am happy with my life now but it doesn’t hurt to ask for a bit more, right? Plus it is not me, it’s a different me.

Yes! That movie too. Although that's purely action but nonetheless it can still give you an idea about having a your own doppelganger - what are you differences, favorite foods etc. If all are the same, then that is a really scary thought. What if he wants to live in your house too? That'd freak you out for sure.

I have thought about this a few times, about having another me in another universe who is living another life and doing better than me lol. But we don't know if this actually is true, there are some moments with this Deja-Vu thing that is super curious but I don't know how it could relate. Anyway, is a very curious theory.

Yes I also experience flash backs and I always think that this thing that I am doing has happened before but I can't remember when. And I would just end up staring at something for no reason and my head will be blank without anything inside it lol! It's really funny and scary at the same time. Although we may not know for now if it's true or not, a little bit of mystery and interesting facts wouldn't hurt. ;)

I think it's a really cool concept, the parallel universes are such a great subject to think, imagine the "what if" situations, I certainly think there are other me's, it would be very interesting to find them.

Yeah! And your display picture reminded me of a movie relevant to the topic as well! It's like the death rabbit on the movie Donnie Darko. Have you seen it? It also has parallel universe, blackhole and time travel! :)

I've read about the parallel universe before from blog post & other websites but hasn't watched any movie concerning it. The books and movies that showing the concept are interesting as many people would say. To me I don't think it exists, the way I define another me is my stored potentials locked up inside me and which I'm discovering bit by bit.

Yeah I guess it's not for everyone and I can respect that. I used to think the same way before but when I got even more curious, I come to the conclusion that it is really possible. Nothing in this world isn't anymore so we gotta embrace and have an open mind. At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself. Because when the time comes that those are really true, I wouldn't be shocked or something because I have already known something about it. :)

This is very interesting, I like these kind of theories, but at the end of the day that's all they are: a simple theory and not a law or something veridical. I like to think about another different world and how my life would be there, but not only that, I also like to think about being able to live someone's else life, which I won't doubt to do it, it could be very fun. This reminds me to a movie called Kimi no na wa, it's an animated Japanese movie about to young people who change their bodies.

Thanks to the large amount of time I've spending watching Rick & Morty, I can say I've spent a good deal of time thinking about the idea of parallel universes. In fact, it could be possible that there is a separate universe for every outcome that could possibly be. That's almost an infinite number of universes, I would assume. Of course, I'm not sure what I'd do if I met another me from a different universe. I assume I'd want to sit down and talk to see exactly how he and I differ from one another and how our timelines are different as well. It'd be interesting to see what kind of conversation I would be.

Speaking of which, there was this famous actor and physicist guy, I forgot his name. He is black and he is really famous because of his theories and all that science thing. He even worked for NASA I believe, or at least collaborated. I saw him being a guest on this YouTube show 'Hot Ones' and he is really genius. I mean the amount of time he studied these kinds of things is, terrifyingly marvelous.

Why not? If there are parallel universes then it would make sense that there are our parallel dopplegangers out there in them. I don't think they would be like us though. I think there would some degrees of differences. Maybe one universe would be the complete opposite of this one so those who are good would be bad and vice versus. I have read a book that was based on parallel universes and being able to go visit them. I really liked that. I haven't really learned too much about this theory but it would be interesting to do some more investigation.

I don't believe it. I do think that there are certain souls that have so much in common that they could be considered spiritual brothers and usually they reincarnate together. Still, we're talking about two different souls here. I don't think there is a "reverse"you anywhere

The funny thing about what you said is that they are both unreal at some point until fully proven. You said they don't have souls but is there really a soul or spirit? Aren't those just man-made also? ;D

I love the theory of the parallel universes... But only as long as we recognize there is no other universe where WE are exactly the same.

I would like to think that there are infinite versions of me, all of them making different choices and living different lives because of small differences between our worlds. Alternative versions of me living different lives, having different careers and maybe experimenting fantastic events... All of that is interesting and I, frankly, love it.

If the parallel worlf exist and there is another me in that world, sounds cool! I might want to meet and talk to my doppelganger, how is it like in their world. It will be like having a twin but the difference is, its still me.

I have watched the movies you mentioned above and I have to agree that after watching those movies I have always been wondering whether there is another me out there in another universe. This is something very interesting and if a parallel universe really exists this may help us to understand and learn many things. I recently read an article where researchers at the Durham University were investigating about multiverse. I hope that we get to learn more about this theory.

It is the first time I hear about the Mandela Effect, I must document first before to share an opinion about this. I do not think there is a parallel universe, this is impossible to exist, so I do not think there is another me. We all are unique in this world, and there is no one like us in this universe!

This is an incredibly interesting subject for me and I'm glad that you posted those movies. I had not heard about them until now but I will definitely be checking them out. That being said, I somewhat believe in the multi-verse theory. It's not as fleshed out yet as I'd like it to be, but there is a lot of support for it within the scientific community so I'm inclined to believe it. The idea of there being infinite universes with an infinite number of possibilities always gets to me. Makes me wonder of all the universes where unimaginable tragedies have occurred in my life. But then again that means there are also universes where I've seen incredible joy as well. Crazy to think about.

I think there is definitely one chance where you can see that there is a possibility. You may have to understand that this can be one theory. Some of the time it would not be that easy as well. And that is something we have to understand that not all the people can have a doppelganger. So this seems more or less like a possibility. And we have to understand where do we see fit.

I have previously thought about this idea and it always intrigued me. Just imagine standing face to face with another you.... How weird would that be?? I would probably think that I am dreaming and that I will wake up realizing this isn't true. But what if it was? Perhaps there is another me somewhere in the universe.

I wonder what she is doing. Did she make the exact same decisions as me in her life? She could be very different to me just based on that. It is a scary thing to think about but also very interesting. Does the parallel universe really exist? I have no clue but until we have proof, I don't believe in it.

Well the parallel universe concept has quite a few spin offs that further intrigues us and ignites our imaginations. There is a term called 'doppleganger' which refers to the occurrence or occurrences where two or more people look alike, sometimes uniquely identical to each other but have no relations to each other and in some cases have never met. This has boggled scientists for ages and has caused quite a stir within the sphere of individuals who have experienced the strange encounter of meeting an exact lookalike as themselves. In fact through social media, individuals have managed to meet with themselves(lookalike that is, hehe) and have discussions and examine their identities. Some have even taken DNA tests to assess whether or not they have found a long lost relative. There are phenomena like these that exist right here on earth which permits our mind to travel into the outer realms to uncover such probabilities of a parallel universe, perhaps even existing right here within our universe.

The possibility of parallel universes has been a topic if discussion in the very intelligent circles for quite some time now. Most people tend to just believe whatever they have been taught, and never question whether it could be wrong. I think that there is a lot about the earth that we live on that is not the way we have been told it is, and even our very existence might only be in our minds, as offered in the movie, Matrix. If there are actually parallel universes, then this can help explain why the Mandela Effect exists. In some worlds, Mandela DID actually die in prison many years ago, as so many of us seem to remember. Billy Graham did die before his wife died, and his funeral was on national television and watched by millions. Berenstain Bears was really Berenstein Bears, and since we do not have any idea of how many other universes there are, there are probably a lot more things that change from one universe to another one.

I have not read or watch anything related to parallel universe. It would be weird to find another Earth with the same people doing the same bad things that may ruin the lives of others. just think, how many people are doing good deeds? How many people are recycling trash into good use? How many people are forgiving enemies? I bet there are more than half of people doing the opposite interactions. Isn't it horrible to have duplicate people on Earth hurting both Earths?

I am familiar with Max Tegmark's theories regarding parallel universes, and they are fascinating, but also daunting, in terms of the implications they have regarding how insignificant we are under these circumstances. I haven't seen the films mentioned here, but now my interest is definitely piqued. I think that to run into my parallel self would be a terrifying and fascinating experience at the same time, but, honesty, I am not so sure I want that to ever happen...

For romantics like me, that parallel universe is nice to imagine. And meeting another me is really interesting if it ever happens. The scenario that is in my mind is that the so called another you is in another dimension. It is really a wild idea but the another me may be my next personality in my next life. In other words, when I die, I will be born in that other dimension to continue life in that parallel personality. Sorry if I am not very clear in this because it's not easy to explain abstract matter.

Nothing in the movies, sci-fi books or real science literature has ever convinced me that there is a parallel universe. Something similar that I've always been told was that: Everybody has a twin, right here on the earth. There's somebody somewhere in this world who looks just like you. I think I've seen some things that could convince me that's true.

I was watching a program on TV and the scientist was tracing the geneaology of a people who lived “somewhere” and he said he found their “genetic traces” somewhere else on the planet. He showed the guy a picture of a person from another family who lived far far far away. That guy took one look at the picture and said “That guy looks just like Uncle ___”. (Whoever. I don't remember the name.)

Closer to home. My own personal experience? I look like some lady naned “Julie”. I don't know who she is. Never met anybody by that name who looked like me. But I lost count of the number people who have waved at me or appproached me in some way and called me “Julie”. I'm like: 'That's not my name! I'm not who you think I am.' :)

Theres a big chance that multi-verse exist! I always watch documentary about a man traveled from other dimension, in accident way, and sometimes there are people aware such phenomena. I don't know yet about the theory but it could possible, it might already exist already. Only time will tell how our world and universe works exactly as human keep searching as well. Maybe in just 30 years some scientist would discovery that parallel universe do exist. I consider all people's opinion regarding two world existence, mirror universe, or alternative reality(parallel universe).

I always get a lot of deja vu with places as if I've been there before even though for me it's the first time. In the local town near to where I live there's an old water fountain that my memory keeps saying is supposed to be in a much bigger place than it is now, it's like I remember the town being a far bigger place than what it is. More like a city than a town. It can be a little confusing at times, and creepy.

Until it has been proven, it will be difficult to really believe if a parallel earth exist. If it exist and i see my same self in another planet , then it can make me to faint because it will be really difficult to continue to live if the same actual person like you exist in another planet.

I'm surprised by this discussion. Honestly I didn't know that someone had the same thought of the parallel universe and never watched any movies and sure gonna watch it later. I had this thought while spacing out, i just thought of dying here, then my soul will be dragged outside earth and transfer to another me in another universe then live there and i have better life. I even thought of making a book for this , because i thought it was really and awesome way of thinking but too tired. I don't believe but I think it's possible.

Just a few weeks ago I read an article about this Parallel Universe and thought reading a few more articles about it. I am an extraterrestrial enthusiast and I like watching videos of proof about them and browsing information on the internet for more other signs. Parallel Universe is something I still have to dig in. I love the idea of dimensional worlds, and that each dimensions have different kinds of existing beings maybe far greater than us. I think that if these Dimensions truly exist, then it shows that Humans should not be part of it because it i beyond our understanding of existence. That is why we are here and THEY are in different dimensions because we are designed to have a different world from them.

I wouldn't know that there is a movie about this until I have read this one. You are right. These make me interesting. What if? What if it is true that there is a parallel on earth? And then one day you'll be seeing the you in another world. It makes me really curious what would really be my impression an reactions to see my self in another world. It is really full of questions. Is she having to the parents I have? Is she loving to the kids I love? Is she taking care too the husband I take good care? So what if? If I see the another kids in a parallel universe? Are they really the same? The beautiful face and the attitude? You are very right! These make me think thousands of questions. The movie maybe a good to watch. Thumbs up for this.

To be honest with you, I never believed in the notion of a parallel universe being in existence. I mean how would someone tell me that there is another me existing someone in another universe without proof that it is real. If there is someone like many of us that are in another universe, then it simply shows that the population of people in those universes is quite big as well. I'm just sceptical about this.

The Bible says that a spiritual dimension exists with angels and demons and it seems like science is starting to prove it. However, though, there still isn't enough evidence to prove it. Anyway, it seems like science eventually always seems to come into harmony with the Bible - at some point.

I believe in a parallel universe as the one that we've never chosen. I know that there is something outside the universe where it existed that whatever choices that we didn't make, there's a parallel universe that has been created where the choice that you didn't pick exist. There is the answer to your question, "What if I chose that decision? What would my life be?" somewhere in the galaxy. It's just light years away from us so we will never see that.

You are like my husband who is fond of science fiction and who believes in that multi-universe or parallel universe. I am not saying that it isn’t true but what I mean is that there is no proof to that and all about it are just speculations by science fiction writers. But I believe that life is full of mysteries that someday we will know everything about life and the universe that we will be discovering incredible things.

I do believe in the Mandela Effect along with Deja vu and Vu deja and I think that these unexplained phenomenon is a glimpse of a Parallel Universe. Since I was in my teens I've been experiencing a lot of Deja Vu and Bleedthroughs and I just can't get it off my mind. I can't explain what I've experienced through conventional means but I always see it as either im relieving my life again or my subconscious wandered to the future. When the Mandela Effect got popular, I knew then that there are countless others who have experiences just like mine. It couldn't be mass hysteria so I thought of it as something or someone is messing with the universe or with reality and now two parallel universes might be combining slowly. Whatever's happening it's frightfully weird.
