The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the greatest phone of all time

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the greatest phone of all time
For a long time now Samsung smartphones had been the cutting edge in terms of computing power, design as well as an overall package. II personally had a few Samsung models including one from the Note series. Although Samsung messed up big time with the Samsung Note 7 they somehow killed it with the Samsung Galaxy S8 the second flagship from Samsung in a row without any low points, meaning that both phones were perfect from almost every point of view and in my opinion Samsung had the best phone both in 2016 and 2017.

So now comes the brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 right when we all thought the Note series will be dead and buried. But I think there are too many fans of the Note out there for some unsung to let this die. The Note series is also different from any flagship out there, it is unique and it has been right from the start.

The new Note 8 will have a resolution of 18.5:9, giving you a cinematic experience and I remember this back from my Note 2, you can watch movies/videos on a Samsung Note phone without any problems. Of course, the big plus of having a Note is the productivity and multitasking you can get done with this phone, this phone packs a big screen with a whopping 6.3 inches but don't get alarmed, it won't be as big as the phablets of the past where a 6+ inch screen meant a huge phone, no, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has an 83.2% screen-to-body ratio - meaning you will get a lot more screen in a smaller package.

The Note 8 will also have 2 separate back cameras of 12MP with a lot of fancy elements and simultaneous 4K recording as well as a secondary front camera of 8MP. All in all, expect one of the best cameras ever put into a smartphone.

The Note 8 will have 6GB of RAM and will start from a 64GB model up to 256GB. I'm not going to go into specifics when it comes to the processor, sound, display and other features. Let's just say that this is the best kind of specs money can buy and you won't be getting anytime soon anything similar with what Samsung put together into Note 8. The only other specific worth mentioning is the 3300 mAh battery which is pretty small for a 6.3-inch phone if you ask me.

In any case, I believe Samsung Note 8 will be a huge success and will wash over Samsung's sins with the Note 7. What do you think about Samsung's new Note?

It will be great

I'm one of those people who believes samsung will learn from their mistake. This phone looks great, I just hope they fix all of their issues because they can't afford another failure. I really thought the note 7 was the end of the note series because of the disaster, so they really have to put everything for this phone. It looks great as of right now.

Great phone

It's a great phone and I'm sure the specifications for it are amazing. The only problem is that for me, it is slightly too big. Maybe one day, I will get used to a phone that size but for now, I have fine with the size of my phone which has a screen that is 5.2 inches. But that doesn't mean it isn't the best phone. The specifications and the looks make it the greatest phone for the moment.

Nice to see the note series back

I wish the Samsung company the best by daring to produced this Galaxy note 8 considering the fact the issues that accustomed using the Note 7 that preceded this.

If such issues like explosion of the Galaxy Note 7 in different regions as a result of over heating has been addressed on this recent series, then I see it taking a chunk of the market share

Yes it may as well be

I would definitely love to have one. I've been a Samsung fan for a long while and I would choose android over ios anytime. Stylus, big screen, and edge screens are too tempting to look at.
Posted by yieesh on 08-28-2017

nice upgrade!

that was a nice and new kind of Android. much better specs about note 8 and high quality of the camera. And some of us will expect a very good and high standard of new Samsung note 8. but before I also encounter some issues in Samsung like it hang when you download much application even though it has a high memory. But I think this new Samsung note 8 was great and people will look forward to using it.

But as you said about the battery I think they should make it higher to be more effecient.

I've been waiting for this all my life!

I have always been a huge fan of Galaxy note series. This time I think Samsung knows Note 8 won't be a fail after Note 7's downfall. Everything i need is in this phone, the memory, dual camera, screen-size, specs is overall great!
Posted by geloi on 08-24-2017

You can even call this the flagship of the flagship. I love the design, the vivid and vibrant of the screen, the specs and the stylus capabilities. Note 8 simply wipe out their competitors. I would definitely buy this with that amount rather than have that lousy iPhone X.

Too big

I never liked the note series, they are too big and they sometimes have strange drops in performance, I guess due to heat. The note 7 disaster is something Samsung will really have to make up for and who knows if they'll be able to. I don't know if this phone is going to be the greatest, once it comes out we can talk. We've seen amazing phones on paper and they had all sorts of problems.
Posted by Anonymous on 08-23-2017
I think they fixed all that with the note 8, especially the heat problems. But it isn't too big if you ask me, the body ratio is pretty extream and overall the bigger the smartphone the better.

Expensive and Not Great

Though specifications makes us look the note is good. But in reality the note 8 is having a lot of support issues. You can't expect Samsung support to be possible in many areas. And you should consider other models if there is no service center in your city. Most of the time you'd find that lack of service and the high price. It just makes a bad investment. Specification alone does not make any phone great.

Too much money

Samsung definitely makes a robust product but their pricing is way out of proportion with the quality you're getting. I've often likened them to Nike; sure Nike makes a good sneaker, but no shoe is worth $200 unless it's made out of some exotic material. Most of the electronics market is full of examples of these "diminishing returns", high-end products and Samsung has been mining that pit for a long time.

No way!

In my opinion, iPhone still manages to be the best smartphone. The competition exists (and Galaxy Note 8 is one of the strongest), but it can't be enough to overcome it.

iPhone all the way.

Every now and then we have seen a phablet like Note series being pushed down by another contender. I believe that Note series has its advantages but Smartphones, in general, have such big screens around 5.5 to 5.8 that no one needs a special tablet. If you are going gaga over bezel less design then go look at Xiomi Mi Mix 2.It's the best.
Posted by muaaz.93 on 08-23-2017

Absolutely not.

There are many, many smartphones out there that deserve our attention, with mesmerizing specifications for such a low price. Just check around.
Posted by Wyvh on 09-09-2017

No way.

I don't agree that samsung galaxy note 8 is the greatest phone of all time. There are always new speculation of phone will come out. Maybe it is now that galaxy note 8 is the best now. But I think some brands of phone will surely think how to surpass this galaxy note 8.
Posted by blank629 on 09-03-2017

Hell to the no!

You can try a lot of smartphones that can totally kick Samsung's flagship device to the curb! Lenovo, Huawei, Xiaomi, OnePlus and many other brands are ahead of their game now so Samsung can shove it's flagship/ripped smartphones up their bums
Posted by Vastor122 on 08-24-2017

The best is what meets your needs.

There is not one single "best" when it comes to phones. Some people need just calls and texts. Others need lots and lots of apps. Others still need Apple products for work.

To say that one phone outclasses every other one for all needs of all people is too arrogant.

For me, my 6 year old iPhone 4s was all I needed. It was the best phone for me. Now, that phone is a Google Pixel. That is now the best phone for me.

The consumer battle is something that makes no sense to me. Sure, the innovation aspect is great--we will only keep going up from here. But on the consumer end...there's no need to spend a TON of money when you can find a simple phone that meets your needs. If the Samsung GN8 fits your needs, then more power to you. As for me, it's unnecessary.

I don't like the design of this phone and to me it looks kind of ugly so that alone is reason enough for me not to consider it as my top pick, but even then, I think there are also some features of it that can objectively work against it when being taken into consideration as to what is the best phone. For me, the iPhone will always be the best phone because it works very smoothly, and I think a lot of the features of Samsung's phones aren't really all that great including having to use a stylus.

I disagree in this article i think there is one competitor that could match the specs of samsung with less high on the price and i think that is the new oneplus 5 and its darn good and with a price that is not so high and not so low but it sure a win in this phone with 8gb ram that could multitask many apps at the same time i think this changes the battle on which is the greatest phone of all time and the processor sure can match the samsung galaxy note 8 we can say that there are some new features in samsung galaxy note 8 that the oneplus 5 doesn't have like the bixby but there are some places that the bixby cannot run or not available and it a hassle to the people so im saying that you can't use it anywhere what if your not from america ang from asia and you can't use it its a hassle cause you buy that with that feature and you cant use it.... leave a comment if you disagree
Posted by Flipppy on 08-24-2017

I disagree

I've had 3 Samsung devices in the past and they all have quirks. Samsung smartphones and tablets always freeze up or hang. That's why I've changed brands s long time ago.

It's too early to tell that Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is the greatest phone off all time. Though it's really expensive , I definitely find it's spec attractive and useful. However, I must remind myself that Samsung's competitors will surely release their own products soon. So, I'll just wait which product suits my necessities and budget.

I am concerned about Samsung phones because although some are good, I just remember the problems that Samsung phones were happening with the batteries over heating and so forth. They have even caught fire at times. I would be cautious about buying a Samsung phone and be careful about what you buy and what you are using it for. I don't know anything about the 8 in partcular, but it could be probelmatic.
Posted by kgord on 08-23-2017
My first Samsung had that problem that the battery was overheating. I only got to know it when it wouldn’t charge anymore. The tech in the repair shop showed me the warped battery with a case that looked melted. Now that phone couldn’t charge by itself anymore although it is still operational so I bought a portable charger. But my new Samsung looks good and I’d say you need luck when you buy something expensive.

I have been using Samsung Phones since a long time. I used samsung even when smartphones were not i the market. Yes, samsug phone have some problems, however, there is not other better Android brand other than samsug. The only brand that I can compare (in Android brand) with Samsug is Sony. A sony phone has best of sony (from display to sound and camera lens) I have never used Note 8. I have used Note 2 and I believe Note 8 is teally good hand held device.
Posted by vinaya on 08-23-2017
The phone turned out to be famous. The reason being the issues with the heating. And the sales still were made. And I think there is a reason many people are still buying the samsung phone in that case. So you can see that some of the time phone needs to be considering there as well.
Posted by overcast on 04-21-2018
I own a samsung and apple phones and for me it is way too early to tell if the note 8 is the GOAT phone just like what u said. Apple will be releasing the Iphone 8 boasting a very good spec for a smart phone. Let's wait for the Iphone then we can compare, my money is on Apple. Apple never failed to give us a real "Premium" phone. Either way, both phones will be successful as they always have been.
Posted by jian019 on 08-24-2017
It's just too big of a phone and large as well.Sure for some people that want a phone and a tablet at the same time it's great. But i think for a regular use it's way too large and uncomfortable. Also i belive it doesn't fit in some pockets thus it is not the greates phone of all time.
Posted by AlexJPro on 08-24-2017
new technology will come very soon and all the current tech right now will change also, so i will wait for SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 15 if after 7 years they will continue to release a new model every year.
Posted by jan on 08-24-2017
I like the specs Galaxy note 8! The price is reasonable and affordable compare to other trend smart phones. Although, the competition became more tougher as other companies equalize the products. While the previous product the Galaxy note 7 had explosion issues, and I believed they already out the products weakness by creating new version the Galaxy note 8. I always admire Galaxy technology, because it's suitable average person like me. I can't wait to have this one in my own hands! though, I am currently using samsung, and I still prefer to use this technology.
Posted by jaysolano12 on 08-24-2017
I like the specs of Galaxy note 8, but the phone is too big and heavy compared to other mobile phones.I also like how wide the screen is as it great phone to use whenever i want to watch videos or do some documents presentation but the the downside to it is its not easy to carry around , it's a hassle whenever you have to go somewhere and wouldn't carry a bag.
Posted by jeiyyy on 08-24-2017
Well, with the age we're going to (the smartphone age xD), you can't outwright say any phone/tablet is indisputably the best. Samsung does sound like they're looking up though since the note 7 was a bit of a disappoint imo. I'll look up the rest of the specs later, but I think I might buy the Note 8 when they get it here.
Posted by AlexHarris on 08-24-2017
i like samsung note the fact that this smart phone offers lots of capability and loaded of features specially if you are a business minded you can use this phone to the next lvl. also have a nice screen design and much reliable source of functions inside. but i hope samsung will not repeat there mistake about the battery exploding that was soooo shocking and makes a bad review about samsung smart phones.
Posted by tophew on 08-24-2017
I cannot agree with it for now. It is because more latest model of powerful phones will still be produced even before the end of the year that can become more powerful than the samsung-galaxy-note-8.
Posted by babyright on 08-24-2017
I can't wait to own this! I've been waiting on the note series after the note 7s great fail. This will definitely hit up the market very fast and I gotta have one before every does. I know, they won't get away with their competitors but come on, if you are a huge fan then probably you won't even notice there are other phones out there that can approximate this hottie phone.
Posted by geloi on 08-24-2017
I think it a great phone with all the features in place,I think the buyers will enjoy it than the earlier series. This phone has been on everyone lips,I hope it lives up to and beyond the hype.
Posted by lovely on 08-25-2017
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a good phone but I don't consider it as a great phone of all time. Yeah, it's a customer friendly phone because you can connect it through Bluetooth to other phones. But I see Apple as much more good phone than Samsung Galaxy 8. I'm an iPhone 6 user and I might sound biased but I also did use a Samsung Phone and I don't feel the satisfaction I had when I switched phone.
Posted by DanoCath on 08-27-2017
My phone is a Samsung J7 and I still wish to buy a new model. Not really because my present phone has a problem but I just want to get hold of a newer model because of the features they are advertising. I have yet to touch a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 but I guess it has an excellent graphics on the screen and have some added functions. However, the expected downside is the cost. I hope I’m wrong on that.

Samsung has managed to catch the best of the Galaxy S8 and improve even more, to fit what you expect from the Note line. It is fast, comes with up to 256 GB of internal memory, plus RAM and the great dual camera, next to the S Pen. The problem is the price. This is the most expensive smartphone that Samsung has. It costs more than $ 1,500 beyond what it costs an S8 + today.

If you really do question the S Pen and want the best that an Android can have, in every way, until it's worth it. But if you just want the best of Android and want to stay on Samsung, it might be best to choose the S8 +. It has an almost identical body, even hardware, it loses little RAM and comes without the dual camera. Even

though it still makes it handsome, it delivers very well what you expect.

I'm not a lover of S Pen, but the double camera managed to captivate me. The problem is that the price difference is too great. Far beyond what I believe correct for an extra lens. If it's for me, I'd buy an S8 +.

I am fond of the Samsung Galaxy Note series but I wouldn't really say that it Note 8 is the greatest phone of all time. A year after and the have already produced the Note 9. Note 8 may have had the best features back when it was first launch, but a lot of other functions and features are being developed everyday so it really is inevitable that best phones would come and go as our technology advances every day.
