The irony of the year in Tech world...
Apple’s latest iPhone launch certainly matched expectations as the tech giant finally launched a device that was different from its predecessorsThe launch of the iPhone X gave Apple a much-needed boost but they aren’t the sole beneficiary of the new device. Their greatest competitor Samsung also stands to benefit from iPhone X’s popularity particularly the OLED display as the South Korean giant is the exclusive supplier of the display along with the phone’s memory chips.Samsung is estimated to earn about $110 on every iPhone X sold. This is far more than what Samsung makes of its own parts. Samsung will earn about $4 billion more in revenue making parts for the iPhone X than it will by making components for its own Galaxy S8 device. Do you agree with this report that Samsung is in a win win situation whether Iphone makes X or Y.

Haha, this made me laugh because I had no idea about it prior to reading the thread. That seems so dumb from Apple though. They're literally paying their own competition to make parts for them? It shows how far behind they truly are and that they're losing the race.

I believe that soon they will get overthrown with the newer upcoming mobile phone companies such as Huawei.

I also love how smart Samsung is and it shows why they make THE best smartphones in the world.

LOL. I wondered about that myself. I thought that I was confused and didn't understand the wonderful world of technology. Figured I had gotten the tech reports mixed up because it sure sounded like Apple was paying its competitors to help with the manufacturing of their products. WOW! International business is complicated. (O.o)

iphone X is pretty awsome

Yes, i agree. It has a great feature, camera effects and a lot more. The apple company did the greatest thing that can happen in a Mobile Phone.

This is great

This is absolutely great for Samsung. The fact that their main rivals are now using some of their parts is a huge win for them. It's quite funny actually especially considering there has been a long argument from Android users that Apple copy features and things from Android phones. The fact that they now make more from Apple as well is just an absolutely beautiful win for Samsung

Samsung wins in the end

Yes, the iPhone X is the hottest smartphone right now and has already received a ton of pre-orders. But Apple is not the only one laughing. Because of Samsung's ability to create high quality screens for smartphones, Apple has decided to partner with them. And because of that, the success of Apple is also the success of Samsung.

I agree that Samsung is in a win-win situation. They profit no matter what happens. They have fully eliminated the risk of competition. If Apple beats the S8 in terms of sales, Samsung won't care because they still profit nonetheless. Being a stakeholder in the operations of your competitor is genius.

Android is Better

I have found that Iphone X and 8 have turned out to be over rated in many ways. You can see that there are many other phones with similar configuration. And they are definitely worth the price you're throwing off on the purchase of those phones. And in that context, I can tell you that it's better to get those phones. I don't think iphone is better than Android. I am content with the Android. So I'd say Xiaomi and Samsung are lot better in that case.

Samsung wins

The iPhone X is a great device. I personally don't like it and I see it as nothing more than a gimmick, but that's just my opinion. What really counts is that Samsung has really organized things in a way that will make them win whatever happens. If this iPhone sells a lot, they're going to get a part of the profits too so they have really won.

Yes this is true even apple makes a big sale Samsung will not be terrified about it because they have so many smart phones model to choose and that is what apple is lacking although apple is a exclusive one version of phones known as an iPhone series they cannot defeat Samsung in terms money earn for the company. and for me i like Samsung they are much advance than the Apple. ans lastly Samsung offers many great functionality.

The Magic is in the Marketing Strategy.

Even though Samsung is making a great deal from this Apple debut at the end of the day both companies have great selling points by which to gain substantial leverages from this deal. They are already both top contenders and it all boils down to promotions and marketing strategy (and perhaps a law suit or two, nothing unusual) that will determine which company prevails in this case as every case is unique where these two giants are concerned.

Branding Issue

For me this has the stink of splitting your consumer base. Samsung's products are all about reliability. They frequently cost considerbaly more than their competitors for devices in the same class, but are built far more robust. That is the brand identity they've carved out for themselves and their products' durability does back up the claim. Marketing components to your competitor undercuts this branding. I do not see how this can possibly end in a net gain for Samsung in the long term. I'll be watching, however.

Samsung is my preference

There is no doubt arguing if Apple iPhone companies are doing great job when it comes to phone tech improvement, they are truly the leading phone company. But that doesn't really get me to choose iPhone over Samsung products. Personally, I'm more of the opinion that iPhone are just a class phone commodity because it's mostly used by the wealthy and affluent people in the society.

This was news to me too and I do think it is ironic as well since they are the top two competitors and it's always interesting when you hear that one is having to pay the other for something. Still, I don't think this pattern will last for very long as it will probably not be long until Apple starts finding a better solution to this problem, especially since many others are also going to want to get that market of selling to Apple sooner or later. If I were an owner at Apple I would be very disappointed that this ever happened though.

That’s the business side of technology that if you cannot beat them then join them. Isn’t it surprising to hear that Samsung will be earning from the new model of the iPhone? But my take on that is the benefit for mankind. The more those companies will earn from the new iPhone then the better for technology since they will have the knowledge and the budget for their research and development that will lead to a better product.

I was actually pretty surprised when I found this out recently, and much like you I also found it to be quite ironic. The world of mobile phones is definitely split between Samsung and Apple these days, so it's funny to see that Apple's main competitor is profiting off of their hit phone. It's a good situation for Samsung regardless of which brand becomes more popular. They are in a position where they can only make a profit. The only losers here are the people, because so many are still held captive by the plague that is mindless consumerism. But, I am in no position to be telling anyone how to spend their hard earned money.

Android phones have a lot of better features. And cameras on phones like Samsung and Xiaomi are lot better. You can get everything that you can find with the Apple. And on that context you can see that Android has lot better community. And we don't really need expensive iphone. And there does not seem to be any benefit from adding the money into this type of product anymore. It's not worth with the iphone.

There are many people who have been criticizing the iPhone X mainly because of the Face ID. Despite this many people will still be buying the iPhone X. As you said above Samsung will definitely benefit from the sales of iPhone X and this is a great opportunity for them. However consumers are not going to benefit from this deal and the price of the iPhone X explains it all.
Posted by Pixie on 10-04-2017
It sounds like a win win situation for Samsung. I am not sure how many people are going to be plunking down 1,000 dollars for the Iphone X, but regardless it seems like Samsung will profit. Think about it, not only would the base price be 1,000 but you would almost certainly have to buy insurance. I would be terrified of losing or misplacing that phone if I paid that much for it.
Posted by kgord on 10-04-2017
Yay,it also going to be a win for Samsung because they're also going to profit from the sale of the iPhone by apple.Even if they do not make their own sales, they'll still be part of the profit accrued to apple through the sale of iPhone x.

Since Samsung is a popular phone brand and with their partnership with Apple , then i think they will make good profit that can even surpass that of the Apple itself.
Posted by babyright on 10-04-2017
Samsung has already made the profit by providing the display and memory chips for I-Phone X. It remains to be seen if Apple will be making money through its sales, though. It's a sure profit for Samsung because they get paid for making the components regardless of the product's outcome. On the other hand, if they make the parts for their Samsung Galaxy S8 device, they can only realize profits when the gadgets are sold.

samsung has always been a winner even though business analysts said iPhone had largest market share than samsung. It is true that iPhone covers more market than samsung phones, but samsung also earns by selling hardwares to Apple. Therefore, samsung earns more than Apple.

I imagine that a lot of the parts that are used in iPhones have to be made elsewhere and purchased from the manufacturer. It is not just the parts that are used that is important, it is the end result that is important. The new iPhone is a real breakthrough and is different than all of the previous iPhone models. I think that , even though it is extremely expensive that there will be a lot of people buying them. My daughter is getting one because she is ecstatic that they have all of the features that only came in the plus-sized phones and in the smaller phone size. She gave me her iPhone 7+ and I just love that phone and I really like the larger size.
Posted by Happyflowerlady on 10-31-2017
If the latest iPhone model which is iPhone X is like a partnership with Samsung then that is good news. If Samsung is the supplier of the iPhone’s screen then it’s really like a real partnership. The more Apple earns from the sale of iPhone X, the better for Samsung as if it shares in the revenue. The benefit that we get is the sharing of technology by both mobile phone giants.
Posted by Corzhens on 01-14-2018
So behind the scenes, Samsung is the one who is profiting the most because of their parts. I wonder why Apple still does this if they want to beat their competitors. Well this means they are both benefiting from each other and Samsung will still be gaining profit even though they aren't selling as many smartphones as Apple.
