Ruby and sapphire are both variants of corundum. All colors of corundum are considered sapphires unless they are reddish then they are rubies. Corundum has a hardness of 9 and it is a defining mineral in the Moh's scale of hardness.

Topaz is a silicate mineral of aluminum and fluorine. I vote topaz not only just because I love that gem stone but also because it was my class section in high school and I have so many wonderful and unforgettable moments and memories in that class. I really love my classmates and I missed them so much.

Sapphire. It is very regal and it is my birthstone. It reflects royalty and divinity. One you wear this with a nice piece of jewelry it screams of exquisity. I wish I could own one but it is too expensive.

I would have to say that emerald is my favorite precious gemstone, and it’s for multiple reasons. For one thing, emerald is my birthstone so I naturally already have a sort of attachment to it. For another, green is my favorite color and I feel that emerald green is some of the greenest green that’s ever greened (funny way to put it, I know). And lastly, the Wizard of Oz was one of my most favorite childhood films, and the Emerald City left a distinct impression on me ever since I was a kid. I wish it were a real place I could visit.
