It also has a lot of benefits, a water melon has a huge amount of calcium, and a lot of nutrients for our body, it also helps the pregnant woman as her child not have anomalies and develop healthily. Also, it is refreshing in the summer days!

I'm more of a watermelon person. Maybe it's because of where I grew up, but here in the midwest, the watermelon is incredibly popular during the summer. People bring them to tailgate events and our concession stands generally do really well selling watermelon slices during local football and baseball games.

Watermelon! I absolutely love this fruit. It's currently in season where I live so the watermelons are very easy to buy and are at a very cheap price. I have two giant watermelons sitting in my fridge.

When it's hot it's simply the best thing to eat because it's refreshing, watery, juicy and good for you.

You can also make some yummy watermelon juice or even turn it into homemade ice cream. I have been eating watermelon for dinner for the past 2 weeks and I'm still not bored of it. You just have to pick out the really good ones because some don't taste good.

Watermelon for me!

Personally, I like both. In fact, growing up, I was the only person in my house who liked papaya. Watermelon, however, is the perfect Summer time treat for me! It has a lot of water. So every bite your essentially somewhat hydrating yourself. The taste is so sweet. Yes, the seeds can be annoying. But I enjoy eating a piece of watermelon and spitting out the seeds while on a hike or something. It just sucks because sometimes they're not always in season.

Team Watermelon here

I really like watermelon. It is a fruit that is very good for you and also is inexpensive. I have had few papayas in my life, although I do like them. I usually like mangoes more which are more like a peach.

There is nothing better on a hot day then a nice cold watermelon. I love to add a little salt to my watermelon. So good! I am not a big fan of papaya at all.
Posted by BigDreamer on 08-08-2017

I don't mind the taste of papaya but I don't love it and I think it's a taste that can be hard for people to get used to. However I love watermelon. It's so refreshing and cooling to have watermelon on a hot day, it's almost like drinking a glass of cold water. Papaya doesn't really have the same effect in my opinion.
Posted by lilac123 on 08-08-2017

Better taste

Its easier to cut and eat, tastes better, and is probably cheaper. A papaya looks too unattractive.
Posted by Lukevukovic on 08-12-2017

I prefer Watermelon

The two fruits really are excellent and very beneficial to our health. However, I prefer the taste of the watermelon. But I also love papaya with oatmeal in the morning. So it's difficult for me to choose. I'll keep the watermelon.

Cool watermelon

Nothing beats a nice slice of cool watermelon on a hot summer evening after barbecue meal. I remember sitting on the porch as a kid, my face and hands sticky with watermelon juice as I sat with my siblings seeing who could spit the seeds the furthest.
Posted by Lizzyib on 08-13-2017

Fresh, juicy melons.

It's watermelon season and I can't get enough of them. There is honestly nothing better than a cold watermelon on a hot summer day. When you have a good watermelon, that is nicely ripened and sweet, it is probably one of the best fruits out there. Not only do they taste wonderful, but watermelon juice actually hydrates you several times more than water! Not to mention that it also has more electrolytes than Gatorade. The only unfortunate thing is that sometimes it is hard to come across good watermelons. It can really be hit or miss.

Great for Summer!

I am not a huge fan of papaya. I do eat it but I would lean toward watermelons more. It is very refreshing to have watermelon especially in the summer time. Very juicy!
Posted by simplym on 08-08-2017

I like watermelon better than papaya.

For me, watermelon has way more plusses than a papaya, starting with the taste. Even though I know there are many wonderful things you can do with a papaya and the health benefits are awesome, etc.; it comes down to my personal preference. I like watermelon better than papaya. That's all there is to it! :)

I found this type of watermelon juice is lot better. You can see that those who are into the kidney stone. And this means the watermelon has it's set of issues. You can see that watermelon has it's share of issues to deal with. As you can see watermelon can be good for many health benefits. In that case I found watermelon is preference of mine.

It tastes better

I have been eating papaya mostly because of my gastritis. It seems to provide some relief. However, I don't really like to eat this fruit. Watermelon is definitely the best fruit to have in summer. It is very tasty and refreshing to have in summer. Watermelon equally has lots of health benefits. Watermelon is rich in vitamins, lycopene, amino acids and antioxidants which can help in boosting our immune system.

The taste of watermelon is sweeter, even though I also like papaya, the watermelon is my preference, I like the texture and taste of it better than papaya.

Watermelon - delicious and refreshing

Even though both are nutrient dense foods - watermelon will always win over papaya for me - as - apart from the fact that they're always in abundance here and likewise in my garden too - not only are these red and yellow high water content fruits a seriously delicious and refreshing way to keep hydrated in hot weather - but a quick, easy very healthy summer staple that never gets boring.

Especially as they can be enjoyed in so many irresistibly delicious ways - for example - on their own in chunks or slices, juiced, added to fruit/vegetable salads, used as a base for cold soups or cocktails or made into granita, sorbet or ice cream and more.

Watermelon It Is

There's no contest here--watermelons are way better than papayas. For one thing, they are cheaper, and they go a long way in feeding several people. This is one of my favorite summer foods, and I love watermelon at barbecues. I also love watermelon slushies. The flavor, to me, is superior, and there is something about a fresh, crisp watermelon that really hits the spot with its crunchy texture and sweetness.

It doesn't have a weird taste

Unlike Papaya, watermelon has a distinct taste for me and I love its wateriness. I really do not like the taste of Papaya since I find its taste very weird. Watermelon is one good way to stay hydrated. The only downside I see to it is that it has seeds that would make it inconvenient to eat sometimes.
Posted by giovanniiiii on 08-08-2017

Watermelon is and always will be my number one choice. With all of its juices and refreshing taste, plus all of the things you can do and make with it. You can never go wrong with watermelon! Although the seeds can be rather annoying when trying to eat, it's really not that big a problem to me because its not like they're that difficult to just spit out. Not to mention all of the benefits of eating watermelon.
Posted by Eboudreau17 on 08-08-2017

Give me one, please.

Papaya I eat more - sometimes - as a morning obligation (although I did like it, but it wouldn't be on my favorite fruit list)... Watermelon I eat at any time of day with much pleasure (I love the taste and the smell of it). So, it's clear that my choice has to be watermelon all the way!

By the way, besides liking to eat it I like to make juice. It's so good!

Posted by wiseagent on 08-15-2017

More delicious

I like both but if I have to choose one, I prefer watermelon. It is more delicious, refreshing, sweeter and I can make a glass of juice without using sugar or water. You can combine it with other fruits to eat it or make juice and it tastes good.
Posted by cubo on 08-16-2017

tastes better to me

I don't like papaya all that much but I've learned to like it a bit although watermelon is something that I was able to like from the start even though I do admit I love it a lot more now as an adult and I appreciate it more now than when I was younger. Still, it's a lot more palatable in my opinion compared to papayas and I'd be surprised if more people like papayas than watermelon.

Papaya fruit is loaded with essential nutrients, required for excellent functioning of our organs and cells. Fruits with exceptional taste are not easy to come by, papaya is one of those fruits that leaves a lasting pleasant touch, their are countless commodious qualities of papaya. Cooking meat can be time demanding, especially when they come from old animals, you can decrease the time required to get your meat done, by slicing unripe papaya as a catalyst.

Papaya contains an enzyme papain, which helps in reducing the required cooking time and softens the meat, papain breaks down some of the chains of the protein content of the meat. Papaya is rich in calories and carbohydrates, this serves as a healthy source of energy, the carbohydrate content is not harmful to the body, they can be easily converted to energy.

Free radicals in the body can cause harm of various degrees, they induce stress and make us restless, this can deter production significantly. Papaya contains antioxidants which acts on free radicals, they eliminate them, and help our body function perfectly.

The occurrence of cancer can be prevented, by adding papaya to our diets, papaya contains iycopain, which helps the body prevent cancer. People who take papaya adequately, has reduced chance of suffering from cancer.

• Contains iycopain which fights cancerous cells. • Papain catalyst found in unripe papaya, helps meat get done faster. • Rich in vitamin C, which helps in boosting our hormone. • Ensures a fresh and inviting skin. • Supports relaxation, by removing free radicals.

• Can easily become too soft. • You must peel the back.

Papaya for bowel movement

In our country, anyone could grow a papaya tree bearing ripen papayas in the backyard. Papayas are easily grown in tropical countries with good soil and drainage system. However, papayas could not grow well in flower pot, that is what I had experienced on.

Papaya helps to increase smooth bowel movements quickly in a day. It has the same function as bananas, it triggers the transverse colon , enhance the waste to become softer and smoother.

My family consume fresh papayas from our backyard almost every month. We had extras that we gave away to our neighbors. Once the papayas had ripen, it quickly rot if not eaten immediately. In addition, we have to be careful of the pecking birds such as mynah and crows, they love papayas too.

Versatile Papaya

I prefer papaya over watermelon because it's a great tasting fruit that can be eaten raw, pickled, or prepared as smoothie. I like having pickled papaya as an appetizer or side dish. As a smoothie, it is great tasting and refreshing. Green papaya can also be cooked with coconut milk, smoked fish, and/or shrimp for a delectable dish that one can have for lunch or dinner. It is great for embellishing a chicken soup-based dish as well.

The taste is sweeter

I prefer papaya overall. The seeds can be an issue but once you get rid of them the taste is sweeter and also it's better for making juices.
Posted by Marvadaum on 08-08-2017

I very much enjoy the taste of papaya. Watermelon is just too bland for me, after having this delicious treat! The taste of papaya is so much richer and sweeter than the watermelon could offer. They are both very refreshing, but a papaya definitely hits the spot every time!
Posted by mjustes on 08-15-2017

I'd go for Papaya

Papaya would always be my choice against watermelon. I guess papaya is much sweeter than watermelon. Well, I never like the taste of watermelon I just don't know why. Some people say it's sweet or anything but I just don't like watermelon.
Posted by DanoCath on 08-17-2017

Best fruit.

In as much as I can't really reject taking watermelon considering the great benefits that comes from taking it, I have the special love for papaya as it is one fruit that I always enjoy eating right from the time that I was a kid. You get to see how sweet that it is from the number of people who enjoys it around the world.

papaya ...

like papaya than water melon. I really enjoy the taste and it is sweet. Every time I went to grocery I always buy papaya. Papaya fruit is a delicious fruit with innumerable nutritional benefits, including helping digestion and reducing the risk of cancer. It contains enzymes that help prevent oxidization of cholesterol, which in return helps to prevent heart attacks. Papaya is known for its low sugar level and is an antioxidant source. When I’m constipated I eat papaya and it is really effective in digestion. Papaya which is extremely rich in Vitamin C has a wide range of health benefits making it a great fruit option to include in your diet.

Skincare for me

I prefer papaya. I like its sweetness and its benefit for my skin. I have researched that eating papaya can make our skin radiantly glow and soft. That's why I like papaya. We also incorporate it with other viands.

I choose papaya. It is around the year available. Watermelon is only available in our place during summer season.
Posted by menchuuy58 on 12-11-2018

I prefer the taste of watermelon, but I can't choose my preference. I can't eat watermelon. I suddenly became allergic to it one summer, after having eaten it just fine all my life. It's weird. Maybe it has more to with whatever they spray on our food than the food itself, but either way, I can't eat it any more.
Posted by Zyni on 08-08-2017
I do not like papaya at all so I have to go with watermelon. Watermelon is so sweet and has such a refreshing taste. I love Watermelon on a summer day. Even though you can enjoy it any time of year it is a nice summer treat. I prefer mine just like it is but some people like to add salt to it. They say it brings out the sweetness. I have tried it but didn't really care for it.

It’s just too bad that you do not like papaya and you have not tasted the way we prepare papaya. Anyway, just to give you an idea that maybe you can someday try when you buy papaya. Slice the papaya into a bowl. Add lemon drops and sugar plus milk. Mix very well and let it cool in the fridge before eating. It is like eating fresh ice cream with real fruit. Papaya has many nutrients and it is beneficial to the immunity of our body against common diseases.

watermelon is a good summer fruit, summer fruit because it is available during the summer and it juices reduces impact of heat in our body. watermelon is the best fruit to get away from dehydration during thr summer. watermelon is also very healthy because of if its thick layer, pesticides sprayed for preservation of keep of pests and insects cannot penetrate inside. Payaya is rich in vitamin A which is essential to developp eye sight.

I LOVE watermelon. I can eat it all year long and never get tired of it. I especially love it when it is nice and cold as it seems like the juice just quenches your thirst and cools you down. Watermelon is very good for you and it is very filling. I like to get them from the farmer's market downtown since you know that they are fresh. They usually have samples of them for you to try them out before you buy them too. I wish I had some now.

Water melon! Its my favorite fruits during summer. Its so sweet and juicy and taste like heaven during hot weather. Every summer we went to the farm and personally pick our water melon with the farmers its so much fun. I don't the taste of papaya specially the overripe one, it looks like poop. Lol. I remember this fruits my grandma used to when to relieve constipation.
Posted by rose thornes on 08-08-2017
Both fruits are, casually, favorites of mine! I cannot really pick one because they're delicious on their own rights. Watermelon is refreshing and soft in flavour, while papaya is rich and flavorful, I particularly love having it with some lemon!

Both have amazing medicinal properties (and papaya has the papain enzyme that is so healthy for our stomachs) so I suggest having both of them!
Posted by VintageRose on 08-08-2017
Right now I am feasting on watermelon as part of my dieting in the hope of losing weight faster. I indulge on watermelon mainly for that purpose. With papaya, it is good for the digestive system particularly when I am constipated. Fruits are all healthy to eat but between the 2 choices, I would choose papaya because of the notion that it is anti-cancer. And papaya is also a nice dessert especially when it is sweet and the flesh is firm. What I usually do is to slice the papaya, pour some milk and sugar and put some lemon drops. That's my best concoction for the papaya.
Posted by Corzhens on 08-09-2017
I love the refreshing and juicy taste of watermelon which increases if the watermelon is cold. I love watermelon as a fruit and as fresh juice also. Watermelons provide great relief in hot summer afternoons and are a big treat to the mouth. Watermelons are a big diet fruit with so much of water content. The calorie count that is low but still they give a good feeling of fullness.

On the other hand papaya is an equally good fruit. It has been a lot of fibre content. I like to eat it but only if it is sweet. I cannot eat raw and bland papayas.
Posted by amitkokiladitya on 08-09-2017
I both love watermelon and papaya. Watermelon can be so delicious and refreshing especially on a hot day. However for me, the taste of papaya is more compared to a watermelon. Besides, papaya has vitamin C, an essential vitamin for us to be healthy and away from colds and other diseases like scurvy.
Posted by SimplyD on 08-10-2017
I love both of them. They are equally healthy and tasty for me. Watermelon is nice meal during the hot season, which helps prevent dehydration and due to its sweetness can replace not so healthy delicious ice-cream. Papaya is good anytime. The only annoying thing about it, it is the peel. While peeling papaya my hands start itching. I guess I am allergic to its skin.
Posted by RosieCheeks on 08-11-2017
I love both of them but if I had to pick one I would go with watermelon, they are generally sweeter than papayas, but I love papaya and I have a few trees growing in my back yard. But Watermelons are more seasonal and my kids love watermelon more than papaya.
Posted by kamar19 on 08-12-2017
I am generally not a fan of fruits. However, the two fruits mentioned are the ones I take the most. I love papaya and watermelon as they are pretty easy to eat for me after cutting them into cubes. Watermelon is more juicy and less filling but papaya does help me to increase smooth bowel movements. As for juices, I prefer watermelon juice as it is great to drink on a hot day.
Posted by fishmonk on 08-13-2017
I rather watermelon taste but I prefer the benefits of the papaya so I'll say it depends on the day! Because if it's a hot day and I'll like to refresh I'll go with watermelon but If it's a lazy night and I don't want to cook I would just eat some papaya because it's way much more filling than the watermelon. If I'm felling a little swollen then I will eat watermelon because it's such a good natural diuretic due its high content on water. so it's a choice that's going to depend on how my body is feeling...
Posted by Pink_Turtle on 08-14-2017
Despite papaya, it is very beneficial for our health I prefer watermelon. The last one tastes so much better and helps to protect you against heart disease. Also, it has vitamin C. Watermelon is perfect for summer days, it will refresh you on a sunny day so it's perfect to prevent hydration. On the other hand, it reduces muscle soreness.
Posted by pizzalover on 08-16-2017
Hands down Papaya. In our country, both watermelon and papaya can be enjoyed by many. The harvest of watermelon usually is during summer whereas papaya can be consumed all year round. Papaya can be used almost in anything, a facial mask, soap, whitening products and the most popular will be in cooking. Ripe Papaya can be consumed on its own or in a salad or dessert. Unripe Papaya can be used in stews as this speeds up the tenderizing process of meats.
Posted by Pumapipa on 08-23-2017
Watermelon because it's an alkaline type of fruit and it has lycopene that fights cancer. It taste refreshing and it can be used as a dessert or juice. Although it's only available mostly in the summer so we can't have it all year round.

Both papaya and watermelon have very important health benefits. I like watermelon more but I need the papaya too. Papaya is tasty and can make you feel full too unlike watermelon which seems to be less solid.

Anyway, I can't be against any since I have a favorite fruit which is not here that I would have chosen instead.

The watermelon is a tasty fruit and very refreshing, a good request for the summer. It can be eaten in slices or pieces, in the form of juices or in fruit salads.

It is very consumed in dry regions of the African continent because about 92% of its content is water.

But it's not just your pulp that's edible. Many places make use of peel and watermelon seeds. With the bark, preserves can be made. For this, the fruits of organic plants are preferable since the bark will be free of pesticides. Roasted seeds are consumed by the people of the Middle East. The Indians, in turn, prepare a loaf of bread made from the seeds.
