I prefer the watermelon, it can be red or yellow is still my favorite. It also has a lot of benefits, a water melon has a huge amount of calcium, and a lot of nutrients for our body, it also helps the pregnant woman as her child not have anomalies and develop healthily. I'm more of a watermelon person. Maybe it's because of where I grew up, but here in the midwest, the watermelon is incredibly popular during the summer. People bring them to tailgate events and our concession stands generally do really well selling watermelon slices during local football and baseball games.

Watermelon! I absolutely love this fruit. It's currently in season where I live so the watermelons are very easy to buy and are at a very cheap price. I have two giant watermelons sitting in my fridge.

When it's hot it's simply the best thing to eat because it's refreshing, watery, juicy and good for you.

You can also make some yummy watermelon juice or even turn it into homemade ice cream. I have been eating watermelon for dinner for the past 2 weeks and I'm still not bored of it. You just have to pick out the really good ones because some don't taste good.

Watermelon for me!

Personally, I like both. In fact, growing up, I was the only person in my house who liked papaya. Watermelon, however, is the perfect Summer time treat for me! It has a lot of water. So every bite your essentially somewhat hydrating yourself. The taste is so sweet. Yes, the seeds can be annoying. But I enjoy eating a piece of watermelon and spitting out the seeds while on a hike or something. It just sucks because sometimes they're not always in season.

I don't mind the taste of papaya but I don't love it and I think it's a taste that can be hard for people to get used to. However I love watermelon. It's so refreshing and cooling to have watermelon on a hot day, it's almost like drinking a glass of cold water. Papaya doesn't really have the same effect in my opinion.

I prefer Watermelon

The two fruits really are excellent and very beneficial to our health. However, I prefer the taste of the watermelon. But I also love papaya with oatmeal in the morning. So it's difficult for me to choose. I'll keep the watermelon.

Nothing beats a nice slice of cool watermelon on a hot summer evening after barbecue meal. I remember sitting on the porch as a kid, my face and hands sticky with watermelon juice as I sat with my siblings seeing who could spit the seeds the furthest.

Fresh, juicy melons.

It's watermelon season and I can't get enough of them. There is honestly nothing better than a cold watermelon on a hot summer day. When you have a good watermelon, that is nicely ripened and sweet, it is probably one of the best fruits out there. Not only do they taste wonderful, but watermelon juice actually hydrates you several times more than water! Not to mention that it also has more electrolytes than Gatorade. The only unfortunate thing is that sometimes it is hard to come across good watermelons. It can really be hit or miss.

I am not a huge fan of papaya. I do eat it but I would lean toward watermelons more. It is very refreshing to have watermelon especially in the summer time. Very juicy!

I like watermelon better than papaya.

For me, watermelon has way more plusses than a papaya, starting with the taste. Even though I know there are many wonderful things you can do with a papaya and the health benefits are awesome, etc.; it comes down to my personal preference. I like watermelon better than papaya. That's all there is to it! :)

You can see that watermelon has it's share of issues to deal with. As you can see watermelon can be good for many health benefits. In that case I found watermelon is preference of mine.

It tastes better

I have been eating papaya mostly because of my gastritis. It seems to provide some relief. However, I don't really like to eat this fruit. Watermelon is definitely the best fruit to have in summer. It is very tasty and refreshing to have in summer. Watermelon equally has lots of health benefits. Watermelon is rich in vitamins, lycopene, amino acids and antioxidants which can help in boosting our immune system.

Even though both are nutrient dense foods - watermelon will always win over papaya for me - as - apart from the fact that they're always in abundance here and likewise in my garden too - not only are these red and yellow high water content fruits a seriously delicious and refreshing way to keep hydrated in hot weather - but a quick, easy very healthy summer staple that never gets boring.

Especially as they can be enjoyed in so many irresistibly delicious ways - for example - on their own in chunks or slices, juiced, added to fruit/vegetable salads, used as a base for cold soups or cocktails or made into granita, sorbet or ice cream and more.

Watermelon It Is

There's no contest here--watermelons are way better than papayas. For one thing, they are cheaper, and they go a long way in feeding several people. This is one of my favorite summer foods, and I love watermelon at barbecues. I also love watermelon slushies. The flavor, to me, is superior, and there is something about a fresh, crisp watermelon that really hits the spot with its crunchy texture and sweetness.

It doesn't have a weird taste

Unlike Papaya, watermelon has a distinct taste for me and I love its wateriness. I really do not like the taste of Papaya since I find its taste very weird. Watermelon is one good way to stay hydrated. The only downside I see to it is that it has seeds that would make it inconvenient to eat sometimes.

Watermelon is and always will be my number one choice. With all of its juices and refreshing taste, plus all of the things you can do and make with it. You can never go wrong with watermelon! Although the seeds can be rather annoying when trying to eat, it's really not that big a problem to me because its not like they're that difficult to just spit out. Not to mention all of the benefits of eating watermelon.

Papaya I eat more - sometimes - as a morning obligation (although I did like it, but it wouldn't be on my favorite fruit list)... Watermelon I eat at any time of day with much pleasure (I love the taste and the smell of it). So, it's clear that my choice has to be watermelon all the way!

By the way, besides liking to eat it I like to make juice. It's so good!

I like both but if I have to choose one, I prefer watermelon. It is more delicious, refreshing, sweeter and I can make a glass of juice without using sugar or water. You can combine it with other fruits to eat it or make juice and it tastes good.

tastes better to me

I don't like papaya all that much but I've learned to like it a bit although watermelon is something that I was able to like from the start even though I do admit I love it a lot more now as an adult and I appreciate it more now than when I was younger. Still, it's a lot more palatable in my opinion compared to papayas and I'd be surprised if more people like papayas than watermelon.

Papaya for bowel movement

In our country, anyone could grow a papaya tree bearing ripen papayas in the backyard. Papayas are easily grown in tropical countries with good soil and drainage system. However, papayas could not grow well in flower pot, that is what I had experienced on.

Papaya helps to increase smooth bowel movements quickly in a day. It has the same function as bananas, it triggers the transverse colon , enhance the waste to become softer and smoother.

My family consume fresh papayas from our backyard almost every month. We had extras that we gave away to our neighbors. Once the papayas had ripen, it quickly rot if not eaten immediately. In addition, we have to be careful of the pecking birds such as mynah and crows, they love papayas too.

Versatile Papaya

I prefer papaya over watermelon because it's a great tasting fruit that can be eaten raw, pickled, or prepared as smoothie. I like having pickled papaya as an appetizer or side dish. As a smoothie, it is great tasting and refreshing. Green papaya can also be cooked with coconut milk, smoked fish, and/or shrimp for a delectable dish that one can have for lunch or dinner. It’s just too bad that you do not like papaya and you have not tasted the way we prepare papaya. Anyway, just to give you an idea that maybe you can someday try when you buy papaya. Slice the papaya into a bowl. Add lemon drops and sugar plus milk. Mix very well and let it cool in the fridge before eating. It is like eating fresh ice cream with real fruit. Papaya has many nutrients and it is beneficial to the immunity of our body against common diseases.

I LOVE watermelon. I can eat it all year long and never get tired of it. I especially love it when it is nice and cold as it seems like the juice just quenches your thirst and cools you down. Watermelon is very good for you and it is very filling. I like to get them from the farmer's market downtown since you know that they are fresh. They usually have samples of them for you to try them out before you buy them too. I wish I had some now.

Every summer we went to the farm and personally pick our water melon with the farmers its so much fun. I don't the taste of papaya specially the overripe one, it looks like poop. Lol. Both fruits are, casually, favorites of mine! I cannot really pick one because they're delicious on their own rights. Watermelon is refreshing and soft in flavour, while papaya is rich and flavorful, I particularly love having it with some lemon!

Both have amazing medicinal properties (and papaya has the papain enzyme that is so healthy for our stomachs) so I suggest having both of them!

Right now I am feasting on watermelon as part of my dieting in the hope of losing weight faster. I indulge on watermelon mainly for that purpose. With papaya, it is good for the digestive system particularly when I am constipated. Fruits are all healthy to eat but between the 2 choices, I would choose papaya because of the notion that it is anti-cancer. And papaya is also a nice dessert especially when it is sweet and the flesh is firm. What I usually do is to slice the papaya, pour some milk and sugar and put some lemon drops. That's my best concoction for the papaya.

I love the refreshing and juicy taste of watermelon which increases if the watermelon is cold. I love watermelon as a fruit and as fresh juice also. Watermelons provide great relief in hot summer afternoons and are a big treat to the mouth. Watermelons are a big diet fruit with so much of water content. The calorie count that is low but still they give a good feeling of fullness.

On the other hand papaya is an equally good fruit. It has been a lot of fibre content. I like to eat it but only if it is sweet. I cannot eat raw and bland papayas.

I love both of them. They are equally healthy and tasty for me. Watermelon is nice meal during the hot season, which helps prevent dehydration and due to its sweetness can replace not so healthy delicious ice-cream. Papaya is good anytime. The only annoying thing about it, it is the peel. While peeling papaya my hands start itching. I guess I am allergic to its skin.

I am generally not a fan of fruits. However, the two fruits mentioned are the ones I take the most. I love papaya and watermelon as they are pretty easy to eat for me after cutting them into cubes. Watermelon is more juicy and less filling but papaya does help me to increase smooth bowel movements. As for juices, I prefer watermelon juice as it is great to drink on a hot day.

I rather watermelon taste but I prefer the benefits of the papaya so I'll say it depends on the day! Because if it's a hot day and I'll like to refresh I'll go with watermelon but If it's a lazy night and I don't want to cook I would just eat some papaya because it's way much more filling than the watermelon. If I'm felling a little swollen then I will eat watermelon because it's such a good natural diuretic due its high content on water. so it's a choice that's going to depend on how my body is feeling...

Hands down Papaya. In our country, both watermelon and papaya can be enjoyed by many. The harvest of watermelon usually is during summer whereas papaya can be consumed all year round. Papaya can be used almost in anything, a facial mask, soap, whitening products and the most popular will be in cooking. Ripe Papaya can be consumed on its own or in a salad or dessert. Watermelon for sure. It is so fresh and kind to my stomach. I live in a forever tropical country, so this is a forever summer season all year around, that's why fresh fruit like watermelon is a must. Guess what, i was once in a well known restaurant at my area and they served water melon based soup. Honestly it tasted good and weird at the same time

Watermelon's are very delicious when eaten as a dessert, it's light and super juicy sweet unlike papaya. Although I also like papaya but for boiled soups we use the unripened ones and it gives a great aroma and sweet flavor to my chicken vegetable soup or pork soup.

I like watermelons better than papaya because it's juicier and it quenches my thirst. It's one of my favorite summer fruits. Also it can be made into a refreshing drink or shake. It also contains a lot of vitamins and minerals that helps in giving me a healthy body.

I dont want to choose between the two. Both are my favorites and are nutritious in its own way. Watetmelon and papaya are both abundant in my country and easily grows on the backyard.

I choose papaya than water melon. It is good for the digestive system of our body. It flushes out dirt out of my stomach. It also tastes good when ripe.

I live in an area which is well regarded for its watermelon production so it’s a simple choice for me. Papayas are hard to find here and if you do find them they cost a small fortune so it’s rare for me to eat them.
