What caused the orange glow in the sky in the UK yesterday?

Yesterday was a very strange day from appearances. The whole sky was a strange orange colour. I've never seen it like that before. Not as orange as that anyway. It was so weird to see, everything was this strange orange colour and it was so orange that it just felt so strange to be out in it. You may have heard about this on the news by now? Or perhaps saw it come up on a social media site or heard about it on the radio or something. If you search in Google for things like "strange orange glow" or something, you'll find tons of websites talking about it. Mostly news sites like the Express, Daily Mail, Mirror etc. And they all have their own "conclusions". Most of them are saying that it was a combination of tropical air from the Sahara hurricane Ophelia in southern Europe and Africa as well as dust and debris from the recent forest fires in Portugal and Spain. Seems like a logical explanation right? After all, if you check a weather map of cloud cover over Europe it clearly shows the Saharan dust being blow up towards the UK.

However... Some websites are saying that in fact, it's more related to the passing and drawing near of Nibiru (Planet-X). There are some sites and videos that say as Nibiru draws ever closer to us, we're going to start noticing strange red like dust forming in places. Drivers will notice it accumulating on their windscreens etc. But this is what is the real cause for this strange orange glow. Some say that as the planet Nibiru draws closer to us, our own magnetic pull is pulling in dust from it planet which is covering our planet. Some also say as it draws closer to us we'll start to see more freak weather including large earthquakes, severe hurricanes and storms and even a total polar shift.

Apparently NASA say that Nibiru is just an Internet Hoax. But then NASA have been brought into question a lot of times for things they've said and apparently done. Or not done. However, just an hour ago, News.com.au have released an article saying that NASA admits the mysterious Planet Nine is real. Finally admitting to the existence of a “super-Earth”, which could fundamentally change the fate of the solar system. Talk about change your mind right!?

But what do you think? Was it just dust, dirt & debris from the recent hurricane Ophelia & the forest fires?

Or was it dust from Nibiru which also explains the rise in earthquakes and powerful storms?

The Nibiru theory doesn't make sense and it has been dismissed multiple times. It was probably just dirt and debris from the recent hurricane and the fires. All of these theories about the end of the world make me laugh nowadays because they really have no legs to stand on. Someone will just say something with false evidence and everyone will talk about it.

I think the most plausible explanation is really dust, dirt & debris from hurricane Ophelia & the recent forest fires. Nothing more than that. Sometimes people overreact things to draw attention - somehow - without the slightest need for it. That's sad, but it happens a lot.

I read the news and it says this was caused by the fire that happened in Portugal in the recent days. The wind took the ashes and other things that caused the sky to look yellowish in the UK. I don't think it was something more than this.

I didn't know this phenomenon happened recently, I'm too busy working and studying at the same time that I don't have time to watch the news on tv or search for news on the internet. I think that It was just the dust, dirt & debris from hurricane Ophelia and the recent forest fires. To me, it's the most logical explanation.

I don't like in the UK therefore, I did not see the orange glow in the sky. I also did not see this in the news because, in the last 24 hours, I have been offline (yes, I did not even check facebook and twitter). I cannot say whether the orange glow is because of the hurricane or it is because a celestial body is passing close to earth. Both assumptions could be true as well as false. It is interesting to note that people always find something to create controversy.

Some of the dust may be particulates from the fires, although I think regular fine-grained dust would account for the majority. Sepia sky, red sun, no birds singing, perfectly still one minute then windy the next. According to the news there was a smell too, yesterday.

No one can really know for sure what really caused the orange color in the sky. I have reason to believe that dust would be just about the best logical explanation of what happened but it's just speculation and it may be right or wrong. It may be a sign of the effect of the ozone layer depletion, we can't really say for sure.

Indeed. Over here some cities have this orange glow above them at specific times like sunset and sunrise. Some experts claim it to be due to pollution but there is no telling for sure. It might just be a climatic change of sorts. Who can really say?

I think it's also just dirt drawn from the Sahara and debris of what was left of the hurricane. Or so I heard on the news.

Am not an expert on weather or climate. For something this big and serious, we can only speculate and go by the official explanation given by the fed and NASA.

Saw this in the news earlier and I have been following the news to really know what people really thinks and what scientists have to say about this.Well, from all indications I think it just unnecessary panic by humans because from the explanation of it being dirt, dust and debris from both Sahara and past hurricane I think the answer to me sounds logical enough and I just want to believe that.

Most experts including the MET Office in England suggested the storm Ophelia drew out the dust from the Sahara causing the effect in the sky and orange color from the sun. I suppose the end of the world theorists were standing by just in case anything weird were to happen they would jump from the shadows and just before the world as we know it changes, they would be the first to yell, 'See, I told you so!'

"Some say that as the planet Nibiru draws closer to us, our own magnetic pull is pulling in dust from it planet which is covering our planet."

I don't mean to sound condescending, but that's simply not how that works. Dust from one planet isn't going to be transferred to another like that. Not to mention that if it were close enough for something like that to happen, the planet would be observable through telescopes already. Don't get me wrong, I'm a firm believer in a Nibiru-like planet, and scientists have even confirmed the existence of a planet much like the mythical Nibiru or Planet X, but I have no doubt that the orange sky experience has no connection to it.

As this orange sky phenomena - unlike the UK where its clearly an extremely rare occurrence - is not just a far from unusual occurrence where I live - but something that we regularly experience at least 4 to 5 times a year - I'm going with what I know to be the most likely explanation - that it was caused by dust from the Sahara Desert and North Africa being picked by hurricane Ophelia.

Particularly as - not only is the planet Nibiru conspiracy theory not even remotely plausible in this instance - but even less so - considering the fact - that this theory originated several decades ago from someone who claims - to have had a brain implant that allows them to talk to aliens !

It seems to be climate change stuff. I guess many people having that sort of the flow in the major parts of the world. And that happens randomly. So I am not surprised with what UK has seen. Many of us have seen similar things in past too. So that does happen. But depending on how the things are it'd be viewed differently. So we have to see what may or may not apply as well. That's what I have thought.

Different news channels have different opinions about this orange glow in the sky. It seems that none of them can come to a conclusion as to what really happened yesterday. However I don't think that this happened due to Niburu. This phenomenon may appear to be strange in the UK but we have a red glow in the sky in my country very often. It has to do with the climate most often. I am quite familiar with this and it does not surprise me.

Just watching the news about this, and apparently is just a weather effect, caused by different air waves and mixed with past forest fires. I do believe it has something to do with it, but also I guess global warming and contamination are doing their job. Is not a secret how bad are we doing to the planet, and with all those fires, nuclear essays, rockets testings, then of course the sky is turning in orange tone. So sad to see how we are turning everything into pollution and bad effects for ourselves.

I haven't heard of this, but it sounds like it is something that has a logical explanation. It must have been strange to see something like this though. I can imagine that it was a little disconcerting for those who experienced it. I guess it had a logical explanation though. That is good. I guess if I was there I would have been wondering what was going on.

it will really be as a result of the dust from the sahara and the forest fires that is coming all the way from Portugal.

I believe in Nibiru. After all, Narnia and Middle Earth are real places. (O.o)
