What do you think of other religions?
I have been observing how some people in different religions criticize practices of other religions. I mean that it is not right for someone who is not into a religion to say bad things about them. I am of the opinion that every religion should earn their respects from other religions. This is the reason I feel bad when I see some people say that Christianity is a weak religion they cannot defend themselves during a crisis or when other lay claim that Muslim is simply the religion of terrorists.

That assertion shouldn't be so considering the fact that all these religions preach peace and love in the world without instigating for wars. I think every religion should be respected and people practising them given the right of association. What's your opinion about other religions?

I respect other religions. But I start to lose respect for them when they disrespect us. Take for instance what ISIS is doing right now. They are using their religion as an excuse to do the terrible terror acts that they're doing. Because of what they did, I started losing my respect for their religion. I also don't respect other religions that only mislead and trick their members. I have seen numerous newly formed religions that were only established to mislead and deceive people.

I know that my religion has flaws, I know that the leaders in my religion has flaws. And I accept the fact that others are criticizing my religion. It's already a fact of life. I cannot do anything about it. It's a person's right to criticize. When I criticize, it's not really directed to the religion per se but to those at the top of the said religion.

I think you should understand that most of these people that claim to be in these religions are not following the doctrines of those religions which makes it an entirely different scenario. I am saying of those that truly do good in these religions.

These groups are mostly regarded as religious extremists, they derive joy in mass killing of people, especially the weak and defenseless ones. The rate at which acts of violence is increasing by the day is completely alarming as it is worrying.

I totally understand your position on this because killing in the name of religion is one of the major defects to most religion today, especially when it comes with Islam. The reason why such religion breeds violence is still worrying to me up till today.

That's true! I'm from the Philippines and you might hear the latest news about the war that our government fought and won in Marawi. Those terrorists claim that they're affiliated with the ISIS and what they do is they kill all non-Muslim people and forcing other Muslims to join them to fight. You can see on the news that even a child is forcing to fight. They even rob every house there. They're also forcing all female to marry them and they also rape them in front of their parents which is so horrifying to hear this kind of news. It's a good thing that our government end them and kill their leaders and members but the aftermath was so devastating to see. The entire city has turned into a ghost town and you can't see any structure that still stands. The trauma will remain on those people that suffer because of this pointless war.

I respect other people and the religions they follow. I strongly believe that all religions basically deliver the same message. It is us humans who actually misinterpret the message. If we don't accept each other and the religion they follow there will never be peace.

That is the point that I'm saying. If we don't respect other religions, it will always result in a crisis that is rocking the world as of now. We really need peace and love in the world.

You really hit the nail on the head with this opinion on religion. Respect for each religion is definitely what we require in order to have a peaceful and mutual relationship. It's the strive for superiority in one's religion that leads us to religious violence.

I respect other people believes. I'm not a follower or any religion but I do believe in God. I think that the most important thing that we should follow is respect and tolerance for others, as well, love. If we had more of this in our world, definitely it'd be a better place.

I like the part where you mentioned tolerance for other people. I mean for the fact we are not perfect should make us have respect for others as well. Religion should not be the basis on how we judge others.

Religion should not be the basis on how we judge others you said? Well I would ask you to take it up with the religious extremists, they practically see themselves and their religion to be more better than any other external monitor.

I think that religions are mainly different visions regarding the same phenomenon which is human spirituality. In that sense, I respect every religion and think that they should be studied and researched as well as respected and worshipped

Excellent comment! If we practice what these religions teach both in mind and spirit, these issues of disrespecting other religions won't arise in the first place.

The problem is that most people in our society today are really twisted in the mind, they tend to open mouth freely and yap about stuff they aren't even sure about some religion, and which believers of such religion don't take it lightly.

Nice assertion, I do find this to be very useful. Respect is the value that guarantee our several religious mutual and peaceful co-existence. If we don't have re-work on our account in the rallying support for peaceful religion, we are bound to experiencing over night.

I think they are all the same and they were all just made to control people. These myths and tales were made in times when people didn't understand where rain came from and why volcanoes erupted so people were more susceptible to believe what was told to them by people who had an agenda, but now that we know better it doesn't have a place in society anymore, in my opinion. To me, believing in Jesus is no different from believing in Mohammad or Joseph Smith or Hercules.

Well, I wouldn't have to argue on what you believe in. I respect the path anyone chooses to follow in life for we bear the consequences of all of our actions on earth.

Consequences is definitely going to be the last thing we get after our lives here on earth, there is no doubt about it. It may be reward as well because it doesn't necessarily mean that we are all going to fail in life to only be looking forward to consequences.

I can agree to a great length on what you are actually trying to say. Religion is called the opium of the masses, meaning that they can't do without it but the truth behind such is that most times, religion is good at brainwashing it's members into doing stuffs ordinarily they won't do.

I think it is important to respect all religions and spiritual perspectives, and therefore I respect all of them myself. There is something good to be found in every religion, and most people who are religious simply look for a means of living a peaceful life. What I find hard to respect is when someone tries to convince me that their religion is the right way, and fervently tries to persuade me into abandoning my views in exchange for theirs. I'm open to dialogue but it makes me angry when someone tries to convert me.

There is something good to be found in other religions. That is the part that I wish others should try and understand. That someone is a Christian does not make a Muslim a bad person and vice versa.

Exactly, no religion is better than its counterparts. All of them are good in its doctrines, the only thing that we need is finding a way to mutually co exist and learn from one another.

Respect matters so much when it comes to religion and religious beliefs, most times people don't seem to take it lightly with anyone that disrespects their religion. So therefore, it's a wise decision to accord good respect to other religions.

I was born and raised a Catholic and I was kind of critical with other religion when I was a student. During my college years, it was as if that was the renaissance age of religious sects particularly Christians. Although I did not join religious debates, I have friends who did and they have gained enemies. But when I got a job and has matured, I realized that belief is a right for each of us. So it should not matter if we have different religions because our aim is the same, i.e. to be with God and to follow what God wants of us.
Posted by Corzhens on 10-12-2017

Yeah, the aim of every religion is to be with God and for God to provide all our needs. Just like a friend said, it is all about knowing the aim of being in a particular religion and not trying to criticize other religions. I'm glad you learnt so when you became matured.

Let me ask, does God really provides all our needs? If you stay at home not doing anything, does he send the food to you, just like in the fallen manner days? Well, I would say that this is another misleading conception most religion does.

I am also born and raised as a Catholic, and I think that Catholic doctrines have a good way of stressing what God wants and expects from us in order for us to feel good in life but I do find this as misleading. No one truly knows what God thinks or have in mind.

Particularly, I don't follow any kind of religion (but I believe 100% in God)... But, at the same time I have a great respect for all the religions that exist throughout the world. And no, I don't need to know all of them to say that I respect them because in the end, everyone prays only for one God.

The concept of one true God and not believe in any religion. I definitely buy this idea and stance towards worship. Operating from a particular religion is certainly most likely going to get one to be biased.

When we talk about God, the Creator of the universe, religion is not involved. Those who follow religions are out of the way completely. They have truly missed the road. The bible has only one way to heaven, which is the gospel of christ. Salvation is not with any other man for there is no name given under the sun through which man can be saved. Gospel is the way. All religionists have derailed from the real way.

Religions are only established to make people live the negative side of life. God never recognizes any religion, whether christian, Muslim or any other religion. To really serve the living God, we must come back to the gospel.

I totally agree with you on this note, religions only tears us apart with its different doctrines and beliefs, but I do certainly believe that if we could dump the idea of different religion and embrace the concept of one true God, the world would be a better place.

I respect other religions and let them be. No, I don't believe that all religions lead to one God. Many religions are, in fact, created by Satan to trick people away from God and his teachings. I am so secure in God's love that I can't find it in my heart to hate people who practice a different faith. I don't subscribe to generalizations or stereotyping either. Christians aren't necessarily the coward types who will just allow themselves and their family to die instead of standing up for themselves when confronted by enemies. Muslims aren't all bad either and they're living in our midst and doing business, working, and raising their families like everyone else.

The truth of the matter is that no one is certainly sure how the day of reckoning is going to be like, who is on the right side or on the wrong side. The only thing that is certain is that we are all going to be judged according to our works in this life.

I respect all of the serious religions (and when I say serious I'm not speaking about every weird new cult that keep being created), I think that every one of them have their own way to reach the same place, the same higher consciousness or spirituality. People actions and misinterpretations of their religions is what lead to senseless wars, fights and killing of innocents. I can't really judge a person for their religion and I can't judge a person for their status, race, gender, etc, either. It wouldn't be right.

Talking about wired cults, I do have reasons to believe that Illuminati is the top ranking cult when it comes to swaying some religion to its sides. You would see most pastors of churches in our recent times bow to Illuminati, what then is the fate of the entire members. How religion is treated goes a long way in determining who survives the out falls of the crisis it comes with.

I am a Catholic, but recently I came to follow spiritualism. I confess that I respect all religions, after all God is unique to all, independent of his belief. So if you criticize another religion, you're certainly also criticizing your own doctrine. I have the following thought: Focus on doing good to yourself and if possible do good to others, but never do evil to others, even if it does you some momentary good. For me, this is the basis of any religion.

Critiquing any religion is a form of disrespect to such religion, it better to keep quiet over a religion one doesn't understand than critize it. This certainly leads to violence and war, killing and destruction of properties. You can only criticizes the actions of some followers of a religion but not the religion itself.

Each to their own. I'm not one to judge, save for the fanatics. Look, I'm not gonna force my will on people and you do me the same courtesy. It's called freedom of choice in this country for a reason because guess what, it's none of your own damned business what other people do as long as it's not running around mass slaughtering people or harming children or doing any sort of crime that actually harms other people and businesses. In fact at their root all religions pretty much preach don't be an arse to each other.

It's definitely better not to judge than talk and incur the wrath of aggrieved members of such religion. It's even written in the scriptures of Christian religion, that one shouldn't judge in order not to be judged as well. Judgement is for God and not of religion.

To every man, his own. I really don't infringe on people opinions, as long as there are old enough to write wrong from good, I live every one to his own opinion and choice of worship, Where I will backlash you, is when you try to force your religion down my truth, then I will show you, what I really think about your religion. So every one should sail his own ship and sail it peacefully, without running into another person's ship.

It's called right to worship, one might even decide not to believe in any religion but just in concept of God. What about atheist? Has anything happened to them? I also think all religions should be respected. No religion is perfect. Even those who think theirs is perfect are also committing a sin by being very proud and looking down upon others. It is so confusing because no one knows who is worshiping in the right way. I only depend on the bible for answers.
