What is it that you do to break the monotony of life?
All of us are bogged down with routine every day of our life. Unless we have something to break that monotony life can be pretty tiring and happiness will fly out of the window.
You may be doing something everyday involving your family or something that you do alone.
Variety is the spice of life as they say. What variety is there in your life? I normally do not visit anyone but yesterday I visited my neighbour just to see her renovated house - something to break the monotony.

When I feel boredom, I have to break the routine to make my life more interesting. Last night, me and my husband went to the cinema. It's fortunate that the movie we watched was entertaining. Sometimes I go shopping by myself or go for a joyride. I guess boredom is part of life and we can avoid it by doing something interesting.

It is absolutely necessary that we break away from our routine if we are to survive for the next day. I remember I had just informed my boss when I was working that I would be going on holiday and that we all need a luxury once in a way My boss then corrects me and tells me that a holiday is a necessity and not a luxury. How write he was.

I do everything I can to get out and take pictures or do some filmmaking stuff in my free time. Especially on the weekends when I'm free of the shackles of my full time job and school, I can dedicate tons of time to pursuing my passions which help energize me for the coming week. That and vacations. I try and take vacations, even if they're small two day vacations not far from home, that help me get out of the house and exploring the world around me.

In physics as per Newton's Law change of work is rest. Ofcourse that is in another sense but truly doing something else other than our routine does serve as a an impetus to get back to routine with enthusiasm. Even a day's outing can give us that change which is so necessary. As simple as eating in the garden rather than the usual dining table can do that.

My fiance and I spend a lot of time together, just the two of us. We rarely have company and we don't often go visit people. We will though every once in a while to change of the routine. During the warmer months we like to go camping. We visit many different places. We like to change it up. We are both very adventurous so there is rarely a time when our life becomes boring or routine.

Lucky you have a routine that is constantly changing which is not the case with many. They have a clockwork kind of existence. They have to break it and do something else if they want their sanity back. This routine existence can even affect our brain if we do not break away from it. One does not have to do great changes but even a stroll on the beach can help one look forward to their routine rather than dread it.

I know many people who are like that and barely break from their routine. I don't think it is healthy for the mind or body. You need to have some changes in life and you need to live your life to the fullest. I can honestly say I don't remember the last time I was bored but I do hear it a lot from the people to never break from routine.

Usually I do simple things. Go to the movies, travel, dinner out. At home I also do small things like watching movies, reading a good book, taking care of plants, among others.

You have so many choices and it is those simple things that play a role to break the monotony. It does not have to be for hours but a few minutes each time in the day will be enough to make us want to get back to those boring activities. Life without routine is no life at all and whether we like it or not we have to live through with them.

I try and do more of the things i love. I love playing videogames, drinking beer and spending time with my girlfriend. Those are the things that make me forget the hardships of life.

There are a lot of things that I try to do when I feel really boring, I always have to try to make my best to do something new because when I feel boring I can feel sad very easily. I tend to make drawings with pencils on any sketchbook or I just use any sheet of paper. The other things I do it's to hear music and sing alone. I also love to go to my friends house, or they come here, and talk to them, eat something, anything, we love to share our time together. They really help me out.

Drawing is a great way to pass time and it is also a great way to express your feelings. People's drawings can tell so much about them. I use to draw a lot when I was younger but it has been a while since I pick up a sketchbook and pencils. I really should get back into it. It is a great pastime and stress reliever.

Every time I feel bored I try to do the things that give me more pleasure: going to the movies, biking, walking, running, swimming, hiking, reading a book, talking with my friends, study (yes, you read it right) among other things. ;-)

What I would do if boredom hits me is I simply stop. I give my self a "ME" day. 1 day of doing nothing or go out with my family. I do this once a month. A prize for my self for doing a good job.

Well, the best thing that I do when I get bored is seeing a movie or some series. Now, when I get bored in my house I use to see the Breaking Bad series (recommended), but sometimes I don't want to stay in my PC seeing those series and movies, and I go out with my brother and play some soccer, but the most of the times I like to go to my friends house.

Breaking bad is one of the best series of all times. I was sad to see it end. I think it could have went on for many more seasons and still attracted a large audience base. There were so many followers of this show. I have watched many series since the but that has been my favorite.

I think that if we try to do what we love the best this can help in reducing monotony. In my case going on evening walks everyday with my dog helps to break the monotony. Walking is not only a good exercise but very relaxing too and it helps to clear the mind. Normally, I get to meet different people everyday while going on my walk. I have made many new friends and I am really glad about it. What I love the most is that I usually get to see the sunset when returning from my walk. What a beautiful end to my day!

One of the most beautiful things to watch are the sunsets. The colors are fascinating and it is such a great em feeling to watch the day turn into night. I also enjoy watching the sunrises. That is al ways a favorite part of our camping trips, watching the sunrise athe the beginning of each day and sitting around a campfire at the end of the day watching the sunset.

I try to break the monotony of my life by doing something different or going some a new place or one that I haven't been to in a while that I like. It is hard to do sometimes especially if it is something that takes money to do or go. I might just do something with my family like watch a movie or something simple. I don't mind routine but sometimes you have to shake it up to know that you are still human and not a robot.

I like to go shopping, go to the movies and other things that make life more comfortable doing. I think that it is important to find things that you enjoy and make them part of your life. It helps to go traveling and do something different to break up the montony as well.

I love to learn new things; I taught myself how to bake, now I'm learning how to sew, and I'll start taking fencing classes.

I think the key to avoid monotony is to explore your vision and learn! Try things you've never tried, look at the world with different eyes and discover new sides to yourself. If you do that, then you're guaranteed to enjoy your life as it comes.

That is a great way to spend your spare time by learning something new. I think that is a wonderful idea because not only are you passing time because you are learning a new skill that will be useful for you for a lifetime. Fencing classes sound like a lot of fun and some thing that would take a lot of skill and training.

When I start to feel like a need a break from everything I just go for a walk or sit somewhere to enjoy little things. Sometimes I like to go out and take pictures of flowers or whatever nice thing I see outside. This makes me relaxed and breaks my daily routine. It has helped me to keep my sanity and to not have break downs because of my job, as sometimes it can become a bit stressing.

A stressful job needs those breaks and you seem to be knowing how exactly to get away from it all. It may not be for long spells but break we must. If one has a job that needs a lot of planning and thinking then some physical work could help one rest the brain for a while. There are so many ways but without a break it could affect one's health in the long run.

Most days I stay at home and play computer games. Despite me doing that, I still feel sometimes that I am missing something. In the afternoon I go out to grab something to eat and walk around our subdivision for a while. I love how this habit helps me in thinking ahead for the future. I rarely go to malls because I always spend my money right away on virtual goods..

My routine varies each day and I am glad it does or else I would be tired. That is nice to break your routine and visit your neighbor. I bet her home is lovely.

I find I have the worst wanderlust when I get caught in a rut and so I indulge it. Sometimes I'll plan a proper vacation. Other times I'll simply cancel real life for a weekend, get in the car and go "that way" until I've satisfied my curiosity. I take whatever roads I wish, I get out of the car to examine anything that piques my interest. This usually rejuvenates me enough to get back into the grind with renewed vigor.

I'm kind of crazy and I always do everything on a routine and on a schedule (like, I have to do X always at a specific hour, or eat the same thing for the same day of the week.. you get it). I don't really feel the monotony of life for this reason probably, since my personality is like that.... Of course from time to time I break it when I just feel like doing something different, or have a nice experience somewhere else, but it doesn't really bother me that much honestly.

Bored? If people would get up off of their posteriors and look around themselves they would see that there is absolutely nothing to be bored about!

I am retired and I have so much I can do that boredom is the last of my concerns. If I wanted to simply have a lackadaisical day in which there was nothing to do, I would be hard pressed to find even one in the week!
If people would put down their little tech devices and get away from their televisions and quit acting like some amoeba floating in a petri dish they would find themselves with so much to do that boredom would be totally out of the question.

Of course, that is my personal opinion but I guarantee that any doctor of psychology would agree with it.

I have not traveled much of the world. In 30s I have barely seen some of the places. And for this reason I want to go out more. I want to see more of the world. I can tell you that it's better to break this monotonous life with that. I have seen that in some cases you can do that if you are travelling multiple destinations. But overall it's not much that easy for many of us. I guess I need more money.

I agree with you. I don't think that having a constant, nonstop routine without ever breaking out of it is any good for us or our health. That's why me and my partner often plan small trips every week. During these trips we do various things, from hiking, doing long biking tours or simply going into the town to grab some ice cream and eat it together. I believe that it doesn't necessarily matter what exactly we do, as long as it's something out of the ordinary and that we enjoy it.

I always got bored from my daily routine. What I do is play with my dogs and walk them on the beach. Or I just go to my friends house and annoy them judt to kill the boredom.

Whenever I feel that my life has turned monotonous I plan a small vacation. Taking a break from work and the house helps me to rejuvenate my positive energies.

But there are times when I cannot do so because of limited funds. In such cases, I simply step out of the house, go for a small drive, satisfy my taste buds with good food and come back home relaxed.

I hate the routine from my life and sometimes I need to do something different so I'm trying to be impulsive and take action. Sometimes I take my family and go on a small trip for a weekend, or just go fishing. If we don't have too much money then we just go to the cinema or a walk in the park!

I think it is all about allocating at least some time per day for yourself, doing something you really like. For me it is either watching a movie in the evening or playing a game.

I don't get bored at all. In fact, I lack the time to do some things I want to do, like read a novel or mend some of my clothes that get torn. I have my full-time job that occupies me from 8:00 - 6:30 in the evening. I get to come here only when I have finished my works already. At night, I watch TV while lying in bed , and while I do facebook during commercials or play a game on my mobile or come here to comment on posts. So you see, I have lots of things I would like to do. No more time for boredom. lol

Mine happens to be playing games, and when I say games I mean actual online interactive football manager known as Top Eleven football manager. Once I feel like breaking my life monotony disposition, I login to this online football manager game and catch a different set of fun.

It affords me the opportunity and liberty to meet different other players in the game from all around the world. Yesterday, I happen to meet one guy from Romania, his name is Vladimir stefan. He is actually a nice guy and I enjoy chatting with him once in awhile outside our involvement in the online football game.

Top Eleven football manager online game is a life saver when it comes to breaking my boredom and actually having real fun.

You are right that if there is no variety in our activities then our life will be boring. If you remember the phrase eat, pray, love or something like that, it was meant to be a boring life. Can you imagine that you have nothing else to do but eat, sleep and use the computer? I cannot imagine to live a life like that. Maybe that is the essence of vacations so we can do something else aside from the regular routine.
