What is your favorite Thanksgiving Food?

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. So many delicious foods will be enjoyed by many. Turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, rolls. Cranberry sauce and corn. Green bean casserole. Salads. And who can forget pie. What is your favorite thing to eat at Thanksgiving?

We always have so much food at our Thanksgiving celebration. Everyone brings a dish to share and one person is in charge of the turkey. The turkey is usually prepared in the stove. A few years ago, it was wrapped with bacon prior to cooking and it was delicious. We always have real mashed potatoes, corn, rolls with butter, a salad of some sort ( usually pea salad or macaroni salad), and several desserts ( a few kinds of pie, rice pudding, and apple dumplings). No one ever walks away hungry that is for sure.

It's a three way tie between Turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce for me.

But I think turkey is the choice for me when it comes to Thanksgiving since it is one that is acceptable by many around my community. Going with it is always a great experience for us here in Nigeria.

I have to agree, but throw gravy in as well. A few Christmases ago, my huusband and I hosted our first Christmas dinner together and we're looking for something to put a slightly different spin on our Turkey dinner. We found a recipe that suggested an apple cider and herb brine for the bird. It was spectacular! It was moist and flavourful and created a gravy that was both sweet and savoury. I had hoped to do it again this year, but as I'm extremely pregnant at the moment, I am in no way in the mood to cook a full Christmas dinner lol. Next year we will have to do it again as it was certainly the best Turkey I ever had.

I prefer mashed potatoes and thick mushroom gravy rather than the big turkey. I don't eat much of chicken either. On Thanksgiving day, I would pig on pizza, buns, mashed potatoes with gravy and muffins. More on the vegetarian side

I like green bean casserole mainly because you can eat it alone or with anything and as a leftover it still tastes good. I actually like making it too as you can do slight variations. I'm also a vegetarian so this is kind of my main dish.

Such a hard decision to make because in some ways I cannot separate the different foods, because they all belong together to make a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. That being said, I would have to say that my vote is a tossup between pumpkin pie and cornbread. I think that is so because those two are fairly Thanksgiving exclusive items for me. I have many of the other elements of a Thanksgiving meal throughout the year, but I almost exclusively have pumpkin pie and cornbread only on Thanksgiving.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is Turkey. I can't imagine myself celebrating Thanksgiving without turkey. However, I also need to have side dishes. In this case, I will choose mashed potatoes and gravy and I can't miss having my salad of course. I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

Just like what I like too. Turkey with fried rice can make me have fun at the Thanksgiving and enjoy what happens around there. So, I have to say that taking turkey is what makes the Thanksgiving celebration a wonderful one for me.

I think apart from chicken and the turkey, there does not seem to be anything specific. Also there are some of the veg dishes that are being tried. That seems to be all we can have around here. Not many specific though. But yeah lot of options if you are counting the deserts and the other starters. That seems to be giving a lot of more control on things as well. I have found those to be good enough as well.

We don't really celebrate or have the Thanksgiving in my country but I did celebrate it once in the United Kingdom. My favorite thing about it, besides the overall mood, was definitely the pumpkin pie AND mashed potato with gravy. I am not a huge fan of turkey so I'd prefer having a chicken but hey. I respect the tradition and I know that turkey represents the Thanksgiving for many people.

I'm from the Philippines and we do not have thanksgiving celebration. But I have an aunt who's husband is a retired american navy and chose to stay here in the Philippines for good. And I live with them when I was in college. During USA's thanksgiving, my uncle would go to a restaurant owned also by american and he would be given free foods. He would bring it home with each of us has our own share. Usually the foods are turkey, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, pecan pie, and salad. I'm a Filipino but I loved the foods. Unfortunately I'm living away from them now.

Definitely dressing and cranberry sauce. I like dressing so much since Thanksgiving is really the only time that I ever really eat or even see dressing so it feels like a delicacy and it just synergizes so well with cranberry sauce that it is a must-have for Thanksgiving. After dressing I'd probably say the most generic answer ever which is turkey for obvious reasons.

My family usually makes everything almost from scratch. The more from scratch, the better. I like the made from scratch mashed potatoes with gravy the best and of course, with the famous turkey. Crisp, freshly roasted, butter-basted turkey skin. It must be consumed right away as it cannot successfully be reheated.

I like all things at a Thanksgiving feast. This is the type of things that you can count on with Thanks giving. It is just a way that you can get the types of food that you like. You can get a variety of foods and types of options that you might like. This is one of the great things that you might want to eat. I love pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes and gravy.

I love all of the above and together they all make the perfect Thanksgiving feast. I had to choose turkey though because what would a Thanksgiving feast be without the turkey? It the main thing of the meal and not only do you get to enjoy it on Thanksgiving but you get to enjoy it after with turkey sandwiches and turkey soup or just as leftovers for another meal.

o prefer salad because it very nutritious and healthy. it comes with good health after consumption, the whole would enjoy it and it very rich in nutrients.

In our country, Philippines we are not celebrating thanksgiving but based on the above selections, I prefer the Turkey because it's delicious and very healthy.

Making the turkey fried with some spices placed on it can be an amazing way to have a Thanksgiving dinner and it is always cool to have it with fried rice as well. My parents always make it look delicious and good for appearance. Turkey is always top of my request at every Thanksgiving dinner.

I know this is the most traditional answer, but I love Thanksgiving turkey! I have grown particularly fond of fried turkey, and my family only makes this dish on Thanksgiving every year. I read once that Benjamin Franklin said that the turkey should actually be the national bird of America, not the eagle. I think that this might be accurate considering that turkey is such a prominent part of our culture. Tons of people eat it all the time as a sandwich meat, and it is a pretty common grocery item. That being said, I love the dark meat of a good deep-fried turkey every year and actually wish that I ate it more than just on Thanksgiving.

I don't celebrate Thanksgiving because I'm in the United Kingdom. But if we did then I'm sure my favourite part of the meal would be the turkey. I'm a meat person so chances are whatever meal I am having, the main meat would definitely be my favourite part of it. Turkey is just amazing especially if you can get the seasoning and the accompanying gravy absolutely perfect. And then you can even make sandwiches from the left overs.

Here in Nepal, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. However, we have a harvest festival that has similarities with Thanksgiving. Some anthropologists even say that the harvest festival and thanksgiving both have a common ancesstor. We celebrate harvest festival in the fool moon of November.

My fave is a combination. Stuffing with cranberry sauce. The stuffing doesn't taste good without the cranberry sauce.

Here in my country we do not have the tradition to celebrate Thanksgiving. Anyway, I always see in movies and TV shows people preparing the special food for that day. For me, everything looks very tasty, with colorful and succulent dishes. So it's definitely hard to choose an option, but I'll keep the turkey.

The turkey of course, it's the main dish on every Thanksgiving celebration. I'm a native of the Philippines and here the American tradition of Thanksgiving is becoming popular. Yearly more and more Filipinos are joining the festivities, I guess us Filipinos just love parties and celebrations. Anyway every Thanksgiving we celebrate it with a small turkey ( it's like a big chicken) not that kind you see in the movies though it's really small, and if turkey is not available then we buy a really big chicken, when this happens I alwaus tell my kids it's a turkey.

We don't really celebrate Thanksgiving day but if I have to choose among the food, my favorite would be mashed potato with gravy and salad. I love salad, I find it healthy and delicious. Mashed potato is also what I like, this is something that I always order in a fast food and I put gravy on it.

Definitely my cousins sweet potatoes. They're roasted, mashed with maple syrup, topped with pecans and a delicious oats mixture, and toasted in the oven. It's incredible, and I really don't like sweet potatoes.
