What is your favorite sauce?

March is National Sauce Month. What is your favorite sauce? There are so many great sauces out there. I happen to be a sauce person. I love having sauces when we have chicken strips or French Fries. My husband says that I am weird but I love eating my eggs with a sauce as well. Every weekend he fixes us omelets and I have to have some sort of sauce to dip it into. Some days it is BBQ sauce and other days I settle for salsa. I have also used ketchup before for my omelets but usually reserve this for scrambled eggs.

I am a sauce mixer as well. I love mixing mayo with BBQ sauce. Or ranch and mayo together. I have created orange sauce before by using ketchup and mustard. If we have fish, there has to be mayo or tartar sauce on my plate. I just feel that the foods taste better with sauce on them.

What is your favorite sauce? If you could only have one sauce for the rest of your life, what would you pick?

Try this you have nothing to lose. get a saucer or a bowl. Prepare the following. lime(Calamansi preferably) one and half teaspoon of soy sauce, half teaspoon of a hot sauce , one and half teaspoon of a tomato ketchup and finally 1/4 teaspoon of a Chiu Chow Chili Sauce. Mix them all together in a saucer or a bowl and that is my all time favorite sauce. I guess you can pretty much say that this post came from an Asian Guy :)

I don’t know how to call your sauce but it is similar to what my sister-in-law would make for the dip for fish ball or squid ball. They are like the Japanese takoyaki but fried snacks that go well with a nice dip and my sister-in-law makes the best dip for that. But unlike your dip that you just mixed, our dip is boiled for a minute together with some corn starch to give it a sticky texture.

I saw all the list and find it easy to chose ketchup. All of it except ketchup is what my taste bud love. For me ketchup is perfectly match with every fried food which I love to eat.

I was not aware that March was the National Sauce month. I love different kinds of sauces and as such, I don't really have a favorite one. I am always buying new sauces to add to my meals. I have also made sauces at home on several occasions. I think it is better to have homemade sauces as they are healthier. The sauces sold in the supermarket contain additives, preservatives and other artificial ingredients which are not good for health.

Nothing can beat a good BBQ sauce! It just fits well with all sort of food... from burgers, fries, chicken files, I even eat it along side of rice. I just don't like the extremely hot BBQ sauce, mild is fine for me. Another good one is when you mix mayonnaise and ketchup, absolutely delicious.

All the sauce you mentioned were just new to me and I was kind of surprised why I never heard of all those back in the past. I've got to know the egg sauce and the tomatoes sauce and both has been a good way that I got to enjoy my rice and bread at certain times. However, where it comes to making that choice, I would have to go with the egg sauce for that is a better sauce for me especially when I have to enjoy it with bread at night before going to bed.
Posted by Barida on 03-09-2018
I love them all. I would have to go with ketchup as my favorite sauce though. What's not to like? I think it is a perfect condiment for many foods. There is nothing better than a thick rich ketchup. However, I like quite a few different sauces.
Posted by kgord on 03-09-2018
My favorite sauce is the fish sauce that is called Patis. It is a very salty sauce that is a dip used for fried pork chop or fried fish also for other dishes like boiled meat. But the downside to my favorite sauce is the kidney stones that can emerge. I’ve had 3 occasions of kidney stones already, had removed the first 2 occurrences and I still have the 3rd until now although I am not bothered anymore because I am taking herbal treatment.

I love many different sauces, and of course ketchup is good--however, my favorite sauce is hot sauce. I really love this on chicken wings and on omelettes. I love home made pepper sauce too just about on anything. I grew up in a family that always had a garden, and we grew a lot of peppers and a great variety of them, so these canned or jarred peppers were always a consistent staple on our kitchen tables. A good tobasco based sauce can liven almost anything up. I even like to pour some into my soup and noodle dishes for an extra kick of flavor. Give me hot sauce or pepper sauce any day!

I love sauces too and I eat a lot with foods like boiled yam, plantain, cocoyam and tuber foods like that. you have listed a lot of my very best sauces like mayo, hot sauce', tartar sauces, steak sauce but ketchup takes the lead I love it better than others.

Steak sauce and hot sauce seems to be my kind of thing. I have not much tried other sauce. And it can be really hard to work around with other type of the sauce. So on that basis I can tell you that my favorite would be the steak sauce. That's what I have found out.
Posted by overcast on 03-10-2018
I did not know March is National Sauce Month. My favorite sauce is hot sauce made from red/green chilies. In like hot flavor very much. I also like ketchup. I have never tried most of the sauces mentioned by the OP.
Posted by vinaya on 03-10-2018
If I am not wrong then the green sauce with green and red chilies is the chutney. And it is common among south Asian users. You can see that it is one of those famous chutney in the India too.
Posted by overcast on 03-17-2018
I put hotsauce on everything from burgers and hotdogs to grilled and fried meats and even on ramen and pasta. I love hot and spicy food and I always have a good hotsauce on our dining table.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 03-10-2018
For me, it's honestly a toss-up between hot sauce and ketchup. The thing is that the two of them are just so compatible with pretty much any food you eat. You can throw ketchup or hot sauce on anything savory and it is almost guaranteed to improve the flavor. Ultimately I have to give it to hot sauce though, because the added spice just adds a whole new dimension to the experience. I like sauces like Sriracha more than American style hot sauces though, because I feel like they have a better flavor profile.

Mayonnaise is my favorite sauce on whatever fried food it is. It is healthy and tasteful, enough to satisfy my cravings. But aside from that, I also like having Ketchup together with the Mayo. I guess they should always come together.
Posted by JB Fernandez on 03-12-2018
Actually ketchup is enough for me as sauce, unlike to other sauce, simple ketchup is applicable to all fried dishes. and the other one is the filipino sauce something, and we call it atsara, or papaya pickled, it's sweet and spicy sauce also, or maybe I'm not sure if it's consider as a sauce, But it's also good any fried dishes and it's healthy also, because it's made of papaya, chili, and sometimes they included the carrot.

I'm a sauce lover. But my ultimate favorite is barbecue sauce. I can mix it up with every dish I have. They say I have a weird taste, but I just like the kick of the barbecue sauce.
Posted by cess_08 on 03-12-2018
I love ketchup or tomato sauce as we call it here in my country.I like it best when it 's the hot and sweet flavor. However my best sauce is mayonnaise. Have you noticed unlike the other sauces you can use it or any type of food. Most people use it only as a dressing, but you can use it on anything. You can use it on fries, in a salad, on an omelette, on pizza and bread. Name the food and you can use it. Unlike the other sauces that only go with specific foods.
Posted by jaymish on 03-14-2018
I use mayo a lot for fried or grilled pork and fish. It's my goto dressing for salads. I also use it with all of my sandwiches like burgers, hotdogs and hamburgers. Mayonnaise is affordable and taste wonderful.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 03-20-2018
I like to put some ketchup when eating a hotdog or ham with rice, this is for breakfast. When it comes to fish fillet, I really love it when my sauce is bleu cheese dressing not only fish fillet but also french fries and salad. Salad can be bleu cheese dressing or mayo and it gives me creamy feeling. I like also hot sauce but usually I put hot sauce in piza.
Posted by nekonieden on 03-21-2018
I am choosing mayo because I seem to go through that more than the other sauces. I use mayo on my two favorite sandwiches turkey and tuna. Mayo also has some versatility as it can used as an ingredient to make tartar sauce.
Posted by buckeye44 on 03-24-2018
I love spicy foods so it's hot sauce for me. Spiciness gives me a more active appetite specially foods that are dipped with a handful of hot sauce. Hot sauce is also a good way to manage your body temperature specially on colds months. Although i don't recommend hot sauce during the summers, but i do it anyway...
Posted by fishbate on 03-25-2018
I voted for Ketchup! It's the all around sauce for almost every food. I use it for hotdogs, I use it in burgers, I use it for certain chicken dishes... But my favorite is dipping McDonald's French Fries in ketchup! I think that it's the perfect snack food!

Hot sauce comes at a close second for me.

Yes, I also do like mayo, but not as much as ketchup. It's perfect for cucumbers though.

I also like Salsa sauce, but it's only good for nachos and tacos.
Posted by limberg on 03-26-2018
Ketchup sauce is definitely my favorite! It adds a good combination of flavor when mixed with certain types of foods. I prefer to have ketchup when I'm having spaghetti, french fries, burgers, and samosas.
Posted by TheInsaneSakif on 03-28-2018
I like banana ketchup. It has lycopene that has many health benefits. My favorite brand is Del Monte. I like Hunts too. I enjoy my meals using this sauce. It gives them a flavorful touch that makes me finish the whole plate quickly.
Posted by Steve5 on 04-03-2018
I like everything on the list but honey mustard is my least favorite. Would have to choose barbecue sauce as my favorite and will add that I don't think I've tasted a BBQ sauce flavor that I didn't like.
Posted by foxchannel on 04-05-2018
This was an easy decision for me. I had to vote for the other option since it was not on your list but my favourite sauce has to be the Garlic and Herb dip that you get from Pizza Hut or Dominoes. It's just amazing and annoyingly, I can't seem to find the exact sauce because the garlic & herb dip from supermarkets just aren't the same. BBQ sauce would come a close second for me, I absolutely love it especially with a bacon sandwich.
Posted by kingcool52 on 04-08-2018
It's really hard to choose a favorite sauce, because different sauces are great for different types of food, I mean I won't eat the same sauces on a pizza that I would eat on a hot dog for example, some might be the same like ketchup or mustard, but others would differ.
Posted by manmad on 04-11-2018
I grew up knowing ketchup as a child. I love ketchup for fried chicken and french fries. I also like it with eggplant omelet. I would always have ketchup for such dishes for life.
Posted by Scarlet on 04-12-2018
I love mayo because it's a versatile sauce that doesn't take too much flavor out of the main dish. I used it on sandwiches, pasta, salad, some specialty dishes, and as a dip for steamed fish. It goes well with most types of meat, too. As a dip, it can blend wonderfully with ketchup and hot sauce.

The béchamel sauce (French pronunciation: [be?am?l]) is a sauce obtained by cooking wheat flour (or corn starch) in butter and then diluting the mixture with milk.

Must have ivory coloring, creamy appearance and tasteless taste of raw flour. Once cooked, it should be seasoned according to the foods it will accompany. Bechamel is still the basis of many other sauces, soups, creams, fillings and souffles.

My choice changes depending on what the food I'm eating and what mood I'm in. Also it depends on what I've grown tired of, in which case I might have picked the sauce I got tired of if I was asked earlier considering I got tired of it because I liked it so much that I consumed it for that long. However, if I had to pick one I think I'd just go with honey mustard since I get tired of that a lot less easily and it goes with a lot of food I like from anything like salads to meat like chicken.
Posted by Wubwub on 04-17-2018
I like ketchup, mayo and mustard, I use a hem all the time when I'm eating meat sandwiches like ham and cheese, BLT, hotdogs and hamburgers. I think these 3 can be used in almost all fried and grilled meat, poultry and fish dishes. They are easy to prepare because one can buy it in supermarkets bottled and in many brands and variants.
Posted by Kakashi2020 on 04-19-2018
I picked mayo because I love fries and I believe that mayo is the best partner with fries. I wished I could turn back time that fast food chains give mayo not ketchup. When I was a child, fast food chains don't serve ketchup with the fries, they serve it with mayo. Now, I think because of the price of mayo, they just choose to changed to mayo.
Posted by bienn05 on 06-09-2018
Barbecue sauce is a favorite for me, but I also like sweet and sour, sweet chili, ketchup, mustard...all of those! I'm not a fan of mayonnaise though, or other creamy-based sauces.
Posted by amelia88 on 07-01-2018
I am a spicy food lover so I also want a spicy sauce in every food I have but it does not necessarily applies to all kinds of food. Though, sometimes, I want my soup to be a little spicy. But in spite of me being a spicy lover, I am still making sure that it will not greatly affect my health in bad terms. We know that too much taking spicy to our system is not recommended, especially if you are taking it every time and from time to time you eat meal or snacks.

Ketchup goes with most food. It's sweet, sour, and tasty. It's a lot more common than the other condiments and a bit cheaper, too. Ketchup is for everyone, unlike hot sauce. Too much mayo and/or mustard is too sour. BBQ is better in powder form rather than as a sauce. Others aren't just complimentary with most food out there.
Posted by mimacheeks on 07-26-2018
I choose ketchup because you can use it in almost all occasions.
Posted by Anonymous on 08-17-2018
I love ketchup. You can use it with all foods. I cant wait to eat fried chicken and dip in to it.
Posted by mark86 on 08-17-2018
I do not usually use sauce. I would go for a ketchup occasionally if I want something new to go with my fried food. But what I love is the mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise for french fries.
Posted by mdayrit on 08-26-2018
Its always depends on the food you crave for the day I say. Nuggets? I pair it with barbeque sauce. Hotdogs? make sure mustard is ready. tacos and nachos? salsa and chilli sauce then. Grilled chicken? Oh more gravy please! Veggie steamed? That's got to be a thousand island. And of course when it comes to my baked mojo potato and fries, tomato ketchup is best partner sauce for me. My forever favourite.

In praise of hot sauce... Hot sauce is mineral and vitamins source Hot sauce is a a stomach congestion pause.
Posted by stbrians on 09-20-2018
Hot sauce for me is just the best general sauce. You can put it in anything and it'd make it taste better. I'm a big hot sauce fan. I almost put it in everything I eat. Most of the stuff I eat starts to go bland since it's sometimes the same thing over and over. Hot sauce fixed that.
Posted by rlpzbeermoney on 10-03-2018
Mayo is also my favorite. It can be a sauce and can be also a spread in the sandwiches. Mayo also can be used in cooking. It is one of the best sauce ever.
Posted by mark86 on 10-11-2018
Regardless of whether the case, my most loved would be Mayo. Because it is very delicious and easy to prepare whenever I eat nachos. By the way I usually dip my nacho to mayo and put beef on the top of it and it really taste great.
Posted by jetselle on 10-11-2018
I am also a sauce lover and there is a lot of sauce that I love. But my favorite is ketchup and mayo. I combine these two sauce and it tastes great! This combination is perfect for squid ball, fries, hotdog, and even nuggets. If you want something spicy then just add a hot sauce and it will be perfect!
Posted by superlicca on 10-11-2018
I love Ketchup and most specifically the most popular Ketchup Brand here in my country, the Papa Ketchup. It's a combination of sweet and chili and has a slightly thick texture. I really love it because it's very sweet and I mostly dip my fried food on it (e.g. Lechon, Fried Fish, Grilled Pork, etc.).
Posted by jaybee19 on 10-11-2018
Aside from ketchup and mayo, my other favorite sauce is the garlic sauce. I love this sauce, especially for Shawarma. The taste of the sauce and the shawarma is just a perfect combination. Garlic sauce is easy to make and you can create your own recipe.
Posted by superlicca on 10-16-2018
Well, mayo is the best for any dish you prepare. the taste enhancing ability of mayo is much more than any other sauce in the world. Mayo can also be prepared without using eggs, hence it can be used even in strictly vegetarian dishes. Mayo is always going to be my all time favourite and I am sure it will be a favourite of the majority of people around the world.
Posted by jpk0007 on 10-20-2018
I love barbeque sauce, especially if it is a bit sweet and spicy. I think it suits with a lot of dish, it is also easy to make and you can make it from scratch. I also love mayonnaise and how it enhance the flavor of the dish when I mix it with it.
Posted by nrnlss on 10-21-2018
Ketchup is always a safe bet, but not just any ketchup as you can taste the difference with a good quality one versus a cheap one. I also like sweet chili sauce for dipping and also to add flavor to things like noodles and veggies. I am careful though with using sauces as the sugar content is quite high and I try to limit using them and when I do use a small amount. Fries with ketchup though are a must.
Posted by Alexa on 10-25-2018
Hot sauce is one of those sauces like none other; you can put in on so many different meals and food groups. The possibilities are endless! Are you eating your morning grits and eggs? Why not put some hot sauce on it?! Are you eating a lunch sub or sandwich? Go pour some Redhot sauce on that baby! Eating your evening pizza? Throw more hot sauce on top! I honestly love the burning sensation and the feeling that your sinuses are being cleared up.
Posted by EffectSix on 11-05-2018
Never have the preference when it comes to sauces or condiments. I even like my french fries plain and salted. I rarely dip it on ketchup or mayonnaise. I do love gravy. I eat it with fried chicken or steak all the time. I also love tartar sauce with fish. It is an amazing combination,
Posted by thejoyrevolution on 11-08-2018
It'd probably be a tie between Mayo, Ketchup, BBQ sauce, Honey Mustard, Blue Cheese and Ranch.

I put Ranch on all of my salads. I use Blue Cheese for buffalo wings. Mayo I use for heroes, subs, bologna, ham or cheese sandwiches. Honey Mustard is great for chicken nuggets. BBQ sauce is also great for nuggets, as well as chicken and ribs. Ketchup rocks on fries and hot dogs.
Posted by NickJ on 11-10-2018
I love mayo. I like its ability to blend into different kinds of food. It adds up taste to a certain food, it can also be incorporated with other sauces. Also, I love it as it makes my scrambled egg fluffier.
Posted by ajahcuizon on 11-12-2018
I just love dipping things into hot sauce because it just gives that extra kick that you really want to receive.
Posted by YoloBoy on 12-13-2018
I don't have one I have several because different condiments work differently for different foods and preparation methods. Greasy sausages are best grilled and served with stone ground hot mustard and sourkrout, a fried pork chop is best with a sweet and spicy sauce like tiger sauce and an ice cold cider.
Posted by Caguioa747 on 12-15-2018
I love ketchup and mayo for fries, BBQ sauce is one of my faves and I also like some of the other sauce listed but one thing can't live without is hot sauce, oh my god if it's not spicy then it's not good food. I always look for it in restaurants and I make sure that I have a bottle or two at home.
