I love yams both cooked and fried yam and garnish with very fresh vegetables and sauces. Another Tuber crop I would love to be eating is potatoes but the specie in my locality is not really nice,it itching on the tongue,so I try to get to the nearby locality to get better ones.

What we do with yam is to cook it as a dessert or snack. The main ingredient aside from the yam is the coconut milk and condensed milk. The yam is boiled in water, peeled and grated. In a big pan, the grated yam is cooked in coconut milk and condensed milk. The problem is in the stirring because the cooking duration is for an hour or so. But the resulting yam is very delicious. If you intend to make it a dessert, you have to add sugar when cooking.

I adore the potatoes! My country has always been growing them and in the past, when they didn't have much other food they mostly ate only that. I just really enjoy the taste and the fact that you can incorporate potatoes into almost any dish.. even things like soups so it's extremely versatile. My favorite would probably be the baked kind. Just baked enough so it's a tiny bit crunchy and then some parsley on top, yum!

My favorite starchy tuber is obviously potatoes. Here in Italy people have been growing them for a long time and they've been used in a lot of cases. When people didn't have a lot of money, they would eat potatoes. When the nation was at war, they would eat potatoes. Nowadays it's a regular food which can be tasted in many ways and one of my favorite one because of its great taste.

I like sweet potatoes cooked any way but I really like sweet potato french fried dipped in a chili mayo sauce. I don't eat them often but when I do I always enjoy them so much. I also like sweet potatoes roasted in the oven with butter and brown sugar. I usually always have that with my Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners. I rarely each regular potatoes. I find they taste so starchy so I never really enjoy them. I do like a baked potato every once in a while though if it is a Russet potato.

I prefer yam to all other tubers mentioned in the above variables. I enjoy yam best especially when it's pounded and eaten with good soup. This is one of the best delicacy my grandfather who is a titled man normally and whenever he is eating the mean someone would be by his side singing a song for him as he enjoys the meal.

My grandfather happens to be my best friend and as such I'm always at his side whenever he is eating and I definitely partake in the meal one way or another. I think that this is the real reason why I turned out to love eating pounded yam. I also enjoy yam fried or cooked portage but the pounded one is my favorite.

Potatoes for sure - as not only do I grow my own - as I enjoy them virtually every way that they can be eaten - baked, roast, fried, in salads or added to casseroles and often use them for making stock or for thickening soups, stews and sauces as well - but - as they are also easily prepared and can be eaten any way you want and with almost everything - for their versatility too - especially as - with just a few additional ingredients they're easily made into - extremely inexpensive - very substantial, nutritionally balanced, tasty meals or snacks.

Easy and quick to answer: potatoes.

I'm totally addicted to them and I can't think of a better and better alternative. I eat pretty much everything that is made based on them (with the exception of dishes that take fish... because I hate it). Potatoes are life and irreplaceable.

I love potatoes and consider them to be my favorite tuber. They ar delicious and good just about any way they are prepared. Many people love these starchy vegetables and find them to be the best things they can eat. I think they are just the best and are super delicious. Many people find these to be the best of the starchy vegetables. I think they are awesome.

It was a tough one for me because I love potatoes and cassava. Both are great but cassava slightly edged it for me because I could just have it almost every day, it's probably one of my favourite things to eat. Potatoes are great too especially when you consider how many different ways you can have it. There is such a varied range of things that you can make with potatoes that it is just one of the best things to have and I'm sure most people enjoy it as well.

Potatoes have been my favorites since forever. I love to eat them often and I love how versatil it is. There are infinite ways to prepare them and that's one of the greatest thing about it. My favorite way to eat potatoes is as fries and smashed.
Posted by felabruno on 10-03-2017
This is a no brainer. Potatoes are definitely the best here on the list. Why? Because they could be made into very delicious fries! I know that French Fries aren't very nutritious and are considered by some as junk food, but it's one of my favorite finger foods! It's perfect with beer or wine or soda or any other drink. It's the perfect snack food and I never get tired of it. Aside from fries, potatoes could also be made into mashed potatoes, which, again is pretty tasty.

Though I like to eat sweet potatoes, I still choose potatoes as my favorite as we can cook potatoes in many different ways and they are really easy to be added in our meals. We buy potatoes almost every week or every alternate week, and there are always potatoes in our home.

Sweet potatoes do it for me. I have liked taking it especially when it is prepared in a porridge form.

Ever since I was a kid, I've always been all about those lovely potatoes. There is so much you can do with them and they always taste wonderful in just about any form. As Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings would say, "Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew." Potatoes are one natures most amazing foods. Most people also don't realize that potatoes are actually super healthy! Most people think they aren't because when they think potatoes, they think french fries, chips and other unhealthy fried foods. But potatoes are actually packed with vitamins and minerals, and there are plenty of ways to make a healthy meal out of them.

Potatoes fan!. I love french fries, potato chips, mashed potatoes and stuffed potatoes. I don't eat other starchy tubers, I don't like them.

I like sweet potatoes more than most starchy tubers I've tasted. I do have yet to actually taste a taro, crosne, and an artichoke, but of the ones that I've tasted so far the sweet potato is consistently the best. To me, anything you can make with a normal potato you can make with a sweet potato and it will probably taste better and at least the same. My family would always make a lot of sweet potato french fries and they would never last in the house because they are just so good, not to say normal french fries aren't a great side dish, it's just sweet potatoes are better, in my opinion.

Potato is a must, the options are endless, I often boil them and made a nice "Puree" or just make some chips, and if I'm feeling lazy, I put them in the oven.

Potatoes are quite fulfilling and I suppose they have the cultural advantage as we were grown up with this potato borne idea from our ancestors. It could be as a result of the availability or even farming probability. Perhaps potato has a higher and frequent successful farming rate that the others. I'm slowly developing a fondness for cassavas and yams. My mom does some amazing yam pies and cassava salads.

I do like to eat cassava and sweet potatoes but my favorite is definitely potatoes. There are so many ways in which you can cook potatoes and I love baked potatoes the most. They are really delicious. Moreover I grow potatoes on my field which means that I don't really need to buy them. This definitely enables me to save some money. I recently tried some crisps made out of taro and sweet potatoes and they were not that bad. Potato crisps are way tastier.

I love sweet potatoes and potatoes. Sweet potatoes are abundant in our area and we have different way to cook it. We eat it as a snacks, fried it in oil and sprinkle with some sugar or we can boil it and serve with butter or mayonnaise. For patatoes I love French fries, patato chips, mash potatoes, patao salads, etc.

I chose potatoes because that is the most common tuber that we eat. But in fairness to cassava, it is the main ingredient for one of our delicacies that is the cassava cake. Back to potatoes, people in our house cherish the mashed potato whenever we would have steak at home. Although very common, the french fries is still one of the favorites that goes well with hamburger. I miss the potato salad that my mother used to make. And it's been a long time since I last tasted baked potato with grated cheese.

I like yams and sweet potatoes, however, my favorite is potatoes. My favorite potato dish is French fries. I also like boiled and roasted potato.I am also good at making various potato dishes. I can make just about 12 potato dishes. I also grow potato in my back yard.

Fries are sooo good I would have to go with potatoes. I think sweet potatoes would be my second choice because you can make "fries" in the oven with them and they taste sooo good, salty and sweet at the same time, I just love them too. But option number 1 has to be potates because they are so versatile, you can make a ton of dishes with them and they all taste different so it's a classic and maybe unoriginal choice but it's my choice.

Between potato and sweet potato, I prefer the sweet one because it helps me to have easy bowel movements . If you steam the potato with the skin attached, you will consumed the absorbed nutrients into the inner flesh itself. Good to eat when it is hot after steaming. Taste great when added into mung bean soup. It also makes a perfect mashed ingredient for porridge, sick family members enjoy it very much.

I love sweet potatoes I like cutting them into wedges, dousing them with olive oil, sprinkling them with salt, pepper, and a little bit of cayenne. Then I spread them out on a baking sheet and bake them for about 15 - 20 minutes. They crisp up and the sugars in the sweet potatoes caramelize and it's so yummy. You also get a little bit of a kick of heat with the cayenne. Sweet, salty, spicy, crispy and fluffy on the inside. Can't beat it!

I super love Yam, especially, Purple Yam (Ube). I always want to eat Ube Jam from Baguio, Philippines and it's so tasty and delicious. I wish, there's a way here to show images of it. Here in the Philippines, Purple Yam is the most dessert flavor here like in ice cream, cake, pastries, and more. I still do prefer Purple Yam than potatoes.

Though I don't eat them as often as I would like to, I love cassava chips.

I love cassava cake. It is one of my favorite dessert. I never tried cassava chips.

I go with Yam anytime. It's actually my favourite starchy tuber. I love it with scrambled eggs. That combo is just perfect for me. It can also be prepared as pottage or pounded into pounded yam, a kind of food eaten in Western Africa.

I'm too used to potatoes and I just like them too much. Even when you deep fry the others and turn them into fries they still are never as good as actual potatoes when deep fried. I also like potatoes the most when cooked in other ways and when other root vegetables are used I feel like they are just substitutes most of the time and potatoes will probably be the preferred one by me in most cases. However, I guess in some dishes there can be a different root vegetable that are specialized specifically towards that dish, but in general I just like potatoes a lot more.

I really love sweet potatoes. Sometimes I eat it thrice a day and I still can't get enough of it. I usually incorporate it with butter and sugar and it tastes really good. I'm craving for this right now.

Potatoes or sweet potatoes for me. They're both so delicious and so versatile. Fried, mashed, boiled, baked...so many options to enjoy them.
Posted by amelia88 on 12-11-2018
That is right. They are both delicious and healthy to eat. You can able to cook different menu that people would love it.
