What is your motto in life?
To live a meaningful life one needs to have a motto in life. In the dictionary, meaning of motto is: "a short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals of an individual, family, or institution." My motto is “Love yourself and help save planet earth”

At first glance it is a matter for raising one’s eyebrows but everthing falls in place when I explain it. Loving oneself means taking good care of both mind and body. And to achieve that we need to live a good life devoid of guilt. A person is guilty when they fail to do their duty – duty towards their fellowbeings. This duty includes keeping one’s surroundings clean - taking care of sound and air pollution thus without one’s knowledge this approach helps one save the planet. Reaching out to the needy is yet another way that can save our planet. Then there is the ‘each one teach one’ approach that can help save planet earth. Being pro active goes a long way in putting law and order in this world that is choked with issues that need urgent handling. The happiness that one gets while playing a role however small is one way to love oneself. To sum up, all the good deeds that one does serves two purposes. It brings happiness to the individual and only if one lovers oneself one will strive for happiness and the approach to this happiness plays a role in saving planet earth.

Looking around us it does not seem that people are in love with themselves going by their self centred lifestyle. No self centred person can claim to be in love with onself.
What is your motto? Do share. To live a fulfilling life one needs to have a direction and a motto helps one to achieve it.

"Be Happy" (life is about this): This is like a mantra to me. My life is 100% based on that thought that I carry with me wherever I go. Times are not always easy, but you have to know how to get good things out of bad times. God is always with me reminding me that it is worth fighting.

Live in the moment! Don't always be thinking of the past or future.

This is true of me as well. I like to enjoy the moment and bother less what the future really holds for me. All I do is to ensure that things are working quite well with me as well.

This is another excellent motto. I know far too many people who forget to be happy in the here and now because theybare too busy looking back on the past and reliving those moments over and ovet again or they are so focued on the future that they allow life to pass them by. In agree 100% live in the moment and enjoy life now. What is past is gone and what lies ahead we will see when we get there.

This really is a good motto. The vast majority of people live their lives thinking about the past or trying to create plans for the future, but simply forget to live the present. The only right thing in this life is the "here and now" so living the moment is simply one of the best slogans to follow in this life.

My motto is to stay strong no matter what and to keep on fighting till you reach your goal. At a certain point in my life, I had some personal problems and this weakened me so much that each time that I failed I couldn't gather the courage to get up and fight again. However, after some time I learned a lesson from my differently abled friend. Despite his disability, he was such a strong person and never gave up. I learned a great lesson from him. Nowadays, I don't get discouraged by failures. I consider failures to be learning experiences and I am also stronger.

This is a great motto. When things get tough we must get tougher. Giving up is never an option. We can get through anything in life if we fight through it. If we believe in ourselves and in our future.

I think that this is a very good motto and a very important one. We must all keep striving, no matter what the obstacles in front of us, in order to achieve our goals! There will be disappointments on the road, and there will be heartbreaks and hardships, but we can't ever give up. There are different ways to be strong, and i try to be strong mentally and emotionally for those who love me and depend on me. I agree that failures are learning opportunities, and I think that it is important for us all to remember that.

As life is not just unpredictable but precious and therefore every second counts - my motto is and always has been - to live life to full - meaning - living in the present and enjoying each day as though it were your last - regardless of the challenges it throws your way - as life is way too short to waste dwelling on the past or delving too far into the future.

I was recently faced with death and I am blessed to be alive today. Many do not survive what i did. I was given a second chance and i see life differently now. I believe like you wrote here. I now live everyday of my life to the fullest. I live for the here and now and i will until the day I die.

Your report is just perfect! I have also tried to adopt this motto for my life. We never know the day or the time when we leave. We just have to enjoy life, from good deeds to love people, if there is tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

My motto in life has always been, if you can dream it, you can do it. If you want something bad enough it can be achieved by always believing in yourself and never giving up. Obstacles mart always get in your way but you are bigger and stronger then they are. All dreams as possible.

That's a very inspiring motto. I love it! I actually agree with it because I think that if you truly put your mind to it, you can do it. Sure, turning dreams into a reality isn't easy but if you're determined, passionate and work hard towards it, you can achieve it! We should always dream big and believe in ourselves.

My motto in life is to become highly successful in everything I do on earth. I wouldn't ever want to be a failure in my life and would love to rejoice in all I do or lay my hands on. I am a website owner with the goal of making not less than $100 a day. I have started the journey towards accomplishing this goal and hope to actualize this soonest. I understand I must work hard to achieve my goal and know for real that the goal is going to be accomplished in no time.

A very interesting motto! You have goals very similar to mine. I also have a website and I have been looking to make money from it. For now I have not gained a lot, but I believe that with much effort, perseverance and positive thinking, I will achieve this goal.

Move in silence. Which means never speak something up too much or put the cart before the horse. If something is going your way or looks like it is or might turn out well, don't get too happy too soon. If you have a plan for success implement it and keep the details to yourself. Wait until it is 100% in the bag before you celebrate or tell the world about it.

When I die, I want to be remembered as " a good man." When I die, I want my children to say "he was a great father" I want my siblings to say "he was a good brother" I don't want too many people in my funeral, but those who go to funerals should remember me as a good man. This is my motto of life.

That is a good way to live. People will not remember what material things that you had but they will remember the way that they made you feel. If you go through your entire life with that as your motto you will your legacy behind. People will remember you as the good person that you are.

My motto is the golden rule that is found in the bible. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I admit I don't always in fact, I often do not adhere to this rule, nonetheless it is my philosophy, my value and a good way to live. It is important to be nice to others if you want kind treatment for yourself.

I think my current focus is just to die happy. I don't know how that can be achieved. But based on what I am working harder on. It seems like there are many ways to reach that phase. And it takes a lot of time for that to happen. I guess for each one of us that could be differently achieved. You can see that we all have different motto in life. And we have to work with what we can in that case.

I don't really have any particular motto's in my life that I'd live by. I just live the way I want to. It's my own life and whatever decisions I make, I will take those consequences. I always try and stay true to who I am, in what I believe. I believe that good is returned with good and that's why we should strive to help others in need and the people around us. Those are just a few things that I guess are my "mottos" if you can call it that.

I would say that mine is to treat others like you yourself want to be treated. Also, don't LIE. When you lie, a poet once said, "you kill some part of the world". I know that sounds drastic or dramatic, but we should all be good to one another and honest so that we develop meaningful relationships before our short lives here are over. Treating people with respect and open-mindedness is of the utmost importance, and I strive to do that every day even when I am in a bad mood or even when others do not deserve my respect because of their bad behaviors.

Mine is LIVE AND LET LIVE, because I'm tired of people telling you what to do and with who, trying to direct your life. Have some issues with my mom about this. But I have to say the motto about don't lie is a must too. I've been cheated before and honestly that broke my heart, seriously, trusting someone so much and seeing the other one almost laughing behind your back, that's not even human. Please people don't lie, earn respect by showing who you really are.

My motto about life is to always live a happy and worry about things that doesn't matter. I've been that type of guy that worry less about the future, and that has helped me to cherish every moment I've lived on earth. It's always good to understand life from that angle.

Never really stopped to create a motto but in my case would be "hang on" My life has been permeated by difficulties and the best thign I could hang on to is that. Never give up because you can never tell what tomorrow has in store for you

I was born and raised in a Catholic home where we were taught good manners and concern for others. My motto in life is not to take advantage of people. It is better to be taken advantage of but vice versa is not good. I believe in the law karma that what you sow is what you reap. Taking advantage of people especially those people in bad situation is a mortal sin for me.

I suppose that the only real motto I have in life is that "this too shall pass." Most people apply that only to times of hardship, as a reminder that times will get better, but I apply it to all situations in life. Even in moments of happiness and joy, I remind myself that "this too shall pass," because things like joy and sorrow are transient and do not last long. Some people thing it is a negative way of living life, but given my Buddhist views, it is simply a means of keeping myself grounded and reminding myself of the impermanence of life, and to stay mindful of the present moment because the past is only a memory and the future is only a fantasy.

It's a New Testament scripture that I use as my guiding light. Colossians 3:17: "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

And two Old Testament scriptures that also guide me.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14: "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

Micah 6:8: "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

I use these scriptures because it puts it all on me. I can't complain about what's happening around me. I'm not responsible for what others are doing. I shouldn't worry and things that I have absolutely no control over. I only have the power to do what I have the power to do and that's all that required in this life.

Evolve always! This is my motto of life. I was not born in a cradle of gold and I always believed that I could fulfill my dreams through education and the search for self-knowledge. In the last years I have dedicated to work and study with the motto that evolves always. I believe that every experience and every learning is valid in this life. So my motto is to evolve physically and spiritually as well.

My motto is "If you want to get the things you never had, then you should be willing to do the things you've never done." I do believe that in order for us to achieve or get something, we should become the person we need to become. Our goals and dreams demand us to be the person we need to become in order to achieve them. We should understand that we should be willing to pay for the price of getting the things we want in life. It makes sense to do the things we have never done before to change the results we get until we become the person worthy of those dreams and goals. Steeping out of the comfort zone and doing things we have never done before will surely help us get the things we never had in life.
