What kind of music inspires you?

What kind of music inspires you?
Music is something magic and has the power to cross any kind of barrier or distance and that is why it's so popular all over the world. If you stop to think and observe while being around, music does much more for you than you can imagine or realize. Just pay attention to it.

The music is multicultural and of an incredible plurality (thanks to so many different cultures, customs and sounds around the world), which provides the different genres that were created until then. So... Considering what kind of songs you like to listen to, what inspires you the most and why?

Tell me about it.

I don't think anyone will dislike music, the only difference is some people enjoy music more and for some people, music is on the back seat. I find music very inspiring, very liberating. I use music to destress myself. I listen to music when I feel sad and dejected. My prefered genre of music is rock. I listen to The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floys, Deep Purple, basically the music from the 60s, the 70s and the 80s. I also enjoy listening to Adel.

I agree that we all like music although it depends on our taste. When I was younger, I was into music especially when I was a student. That’s why my father bought me a transistor radio with a cassette tape player for my convenience. That’s my companion when I was reviewing for an exam. But when I got older, it seems like I was weaning myself from music. Instead of listening to music on my car’s radio, I prefer the news report.

Personally, I'm inspired by a whole lots of music. It can be pop, blues, rock and even ragge music. Music has been part of life for a very long time now and I definitely don't think I can be able to do without it.

Whenever I want to meditate, blues are the best music for me to listen to while at it, if it's exercise that I'm engaged in, I prefer hip hop, as the energy in the music tends to rub off me while listening to it. It gives me extra energy and strength to move on at the task.

Different genre of music does different kind of things for me, so as a result of that, I try my possible best to determine what a particular song does for me and I channel it towards that section in my life.

I'm a musician and have been since I was a child. I played in state-level orchestras and symphonies when I was young, up until my later high school years. I switched over to electric bands where I played several instruments for different groups. Through my young adult life, I made a significant amount of my living that way until my back went out and I couldn't do the job anymore. From that perspective, I can tell you that the "magic" in music is the same as stage magic; it's mostly only effective from the right perspective. When you know the ins and outs of how the illusion is made, it's just a sequence of events you orchestrate, a craft. But there is another kind of magic in it for the craftsman, which is seeing it all come together and cast its spell on the casual listener. That is a great joy, edifying and pure. What inspires me about music isn't the music itself, but how people react to it. It's funny from this side of the isle to see how much a few cobbled together chords and lyrics can impact someone.

It used to be that I would mainly listen to very heavy, grungy music. Genres like Death Metal, Grunge, Hard Rock, and Industrial were almost all that my playlists consisted of. That music was certainly inspiring, but looking back at it now it was inspiring in all the wrong ways. I was fueled by depression and that sort of music only served to fan the flames. As I began to escape my depression, I found myself looking to softer, more instrumental music in order to find my inspiration. These days it's all I listen to. Anything from video game and movie soundtracks to classic orchestral music, so long as it is soft and instrumental I enjoy it very much.

I think it depends on my mood. I don't have a favorite song or music genre but I have to say alternative rock inspire me. For example, when I have a terrible day, I use to listen to Linkin Park old songs or, when I'm going to do some workout exercises, I use to listen to dubstep, house, techno or electronic songs.

Classic music is the most inspiring for me. Chopin, Beethoven, Bach are my favourite composers. Whenever i feel down or disressed i read classic novels and listen to classic music. It sets me in the right mood. But I like pop genre as well. Celine Dion, Garou, Enya ,Michael Jackson... Many of their songs are very inspiring as well.

I listen to most of the EDM genres. I listen to the Trance and the Chill Step music the most. And those two genres also help me with the concentration part as well. That's something helps a lot in many ways. I think most of such genres these days can be really handy as well. I think trance is one of the motivational music one can listen to most of the time. And it does indeed setup the scene for yourself.

Music is so easy to relate to and the lyrics of some songs seem as though they are speaking to you and what you are going through. There is always that perfect song for every situation whether it is good or bad. I relate better to country music and also to older rock tunes. I have got through many a bad situation by relying on these songs to get me through. I don't listen to music every day but I do listen to it when I need it. It all depends on my mood.

Music always acts as a source of inspiration. The music industry is blessed with such wonderful combinations of inspirational lyrics and soothing background scores that it is not hard to find a song for every occasion.

Music has the power to revive the most shattered and diseases soul. It can act as a great healer and helps the person to revive his high spirits. Whenever I face a low phase in life, I hear some of the motivational songs. On one hand they make me realize that I'm not the only one facing problems in life and on the other hand, they inculcate me with positive vibes.

Music that is with soft basses such as blues and jazz can really make me do better while listening to it. I am a music lover and always check out latest songs of the musicians we have in Nigeria that I enjoy playing their songs.

It depends on the music and on the artist really. I don't have a particular genre that inspires me but a few bands certainly do. It seems that some people have the gift to motivate others while producing quality content

I guess the music that inspires me the most is classic rock music. It is the music I grew up with and I find it to be one of the most interesting types of music. I just like this music and find it always puts me in a good mood. I am all for it honestly. It is great. It is simply one of the best styles of music that I might listen to on an ongoing basis.

I prefer to listen to meditation music most of the times. They make me feel motivated, inspired and relaxed. Listening to meditating music helps to clear my mind and makes me feel better. I have also instructed my students to listen to specific meditation music and many of them have told me that it helps them. There many types meditation musics to choose from and many of them are available for free on the internet.

This would definitely depend on my mood. If I feel the need to emote, if I'm getting a bit heart broken, I turn to romantic love songs. They're awesome to listen to if you need something to make your heart beat fast. I find love songs to be timeless. I could listen to love songs all day long.

Aside from love songs, I also like alternative/rock music. I'm a millennial. And during my teenage days, the radio was full of alternative rock songs from The Calling, Blink 182, Hanson, and the like. Alternative rock songs are nice to listen to whether acoustic or not.

I honestly love all kind of music, even the older or the classical one because it truly depends on my mood. Sometimes I am in the mood for something upbeat and mainstream but other times I just want to relax and let go of everything. That's why music is so beautiful. Which kind inspires me the most? Any. You can find inspiration in literally any song - just listen to the melody and the lyrics. Let the song overtake you and trust me, inspiration will come.

I love music. Whenever I am out and I am by myself, I will always have my earphones in my ears listening to my favourite songs. I don't think I have ever left the house without my earphones unless I know that I am going to be around someone who I will be talking to. I like quite a few genres but the main ones would have to be Rap, Hip Hop, Grime (basically UK rap) and even pop music from time to time as well.

When I was a student, the transistor radio was my usual companion. It is easier for me to study when there is music. And it is the soft music that I wanted, not the rock and not the jazz either. Ballads and love songs inspires me and maybe those kind of songs lift my spirit. But now things have changed. When I work, I prefer a quiet place, no music, no sound of any kind. And even if my favorite song is playing, I still cannot concentrate. But don’t get me wrong, I still love to listen to old songs when I am not doing anything.

I love country music the most and always attend concerts where country musicians perform live. Most of my CDs are based on country music. Among others, my favourite country musicians include Don Moeh, Tom Inglis and many other reputable country musicians. Such music comes with inspiration and can change lives. When I listen to tracks of such music, I am always carried away and full of joy. Some of the tracks I love to listen to include 'Rivers of Joy', 'Be Unto Me', and 'we Are One'.

For me it depends of how I'm currently feeling. I don't have a particular genre but I love music generally. My favorite kind is that one that can take you to somewhere else, the one that can give you tons of feeling during the lenght of the song. That for me counts a inspiration. Nowadays there are tons of plastic and flat music that is just bored and pretty much doesn't say anything.

I am inspired by about any music as I like about any music - aside from generic stuff. However, though, the new music seems all generic in my opinion, so I am not inspired by it that much. Instead, I look to the past.
Posted by jyy on 10-17-2017
As a side note, I will backtrack on the above statement. I do like new country somewhat. I mean, I don't necessarily think all new music is generic. However, though, the rock, rap, and R&B haven't impressed me much in the last 15 years.

As I'm a kind of a musician, I only let myself get inspired by great music, real music, and I don't care much about lyrics, unless french songs. I listen to rock and all it's derivatives, some electronic music, and classical music.

Most of the time I get inspired by listening to rock. However, I also tend to be inspired by meditation songs with sounds of nature and even classical music. Anyway, the music itself, already represents much inspiration for my daily life. I work from home and honestly I can not stay a single day without listening to music. This is already part of me.

Worship and Love songs, worship songs, always makes me feel lifted, when ever I feel like been lifted in my spirit, I tune into worship songs and when I do, I feel inspired and when I feel inspired I aspire to respire the motivations in me, which me to accomplish many things. And when I feel like getting emotional I tune into Love songs.

Epic music. I love full orchestral bombastic sounds and it also frees up imagination to really take on the feel of the music. When I'm writing or need something to spur me on, I turn on epic music. No lyrics to distract me, just pure full sound.

Any kind of music that's catchy can inspire me, mostly the beat and the lyrics. I listen to lots of genres, my favorites are pop, RnB, and rock. I like songs that are about love, either happy or sad. I also like songs that send out inspiring messages, especially songs where the artist raps about tough experiences or depressing stories, my favorite rap artist is Machine Gun Kelly. I like singing so you can expect that my playlist will have hundreds of songs.

I'm inspired by different kinds of music from various genres. My inspiration usually comes from the lyrics of a song so I am not particular about a song type. I usually concerned about the message a song preaches and I get inspired if I can relate with the message being passed across.

Lot of music inspires me although we have various kind of genre of it. Still I love those music because it really inspired me and that helps my daily life thru doing good deeds because you know the feelings when you will be inspired by someone? You may do lot of good deeds because of that. That is so cool.

I fond of music since I'm a child because I inherit it from my dad because he really love music. So there are a lot of genre music made me inspired. Those pop music, Hip hop music, rock music, and also those slow music.

I do love listening to R&B or Love songs because that makes me imagining myself singing this kind of genre on the stage with lots of girls on the crowd that is giggling and smiling on me while singing this to them. Whenever I feel stress, down or just want to relax, I always listen to music with this kind of genre on my playlist and relax while lying on my bed and take some rest. By the way, I'm not a good singer so don't ask me if I really can sing. :)

I love listening to chill music because it helps me relax. Those music with mellow beats and vocals helps me feel at ease. I usually only listen to music whenever I'm alone so by doing that, I am able to focus more on the tasks at hand. I also listen before I go to sleep and chill music makes me feel sleepy. I sometimes even fall asleep while of headphones which is bad.

I love playing music specially when my mood tells me to. There are times that you need some music just to make you go with your day. Some music gives me additional inspiration specially at work. I love all genre of music, i just choose a music depending on my mood.

I'm inspired by pop music. Not the mainstream kind. I like really catchy songs. The ones with upbeat and cheerful music. That's what I like to dance to.

I have always liked rock songs. I have been inspired by many especially the ones about a true life story. I am currently into gospel songs because I want to build my faith and I also want to understand the Bible deeper.
